I've heard about the "100" days of retention in most teachings. Is this to help generate more Chi faster in the LDT and open the MCO? How does physical ejaculation effect energy levels while opening the orbit and after the orbit has been opened? - Will your progress decrease significantly if you physically release? To what point does one have to get in regular cultivation where having a normal sex life does not reduce efforts? Can one have a normal 21-century-girlfriend-want's-to-sex-ur-brains-out-every-day life and still manage to attain results such as opening the MCO and more advanced alchemy? I am going on two weeks now and have no problem, i never really have, but it makes me wonder. I like sex and well, ejaculating for most normally functional guys is a normal thing. I haven't reached the point where i can quantifiably sense how much energy is in me, that i can determine how much Qi i lose during ejaculation. I would really appreciate some insight from the more experienced of us. Thank you

I went to the cinema in Rotterdam and waited for 5 hours through 2 different tickets for Avatar IMAX 3D while they overcame some technical difficulty... but they never did. Then i walked home in the freezing cold at night, cuz the buses rides stopped working due to the weather and watched a Telesync version on www.ninjavideo.net Despite teh quality of the picture (the sound was alright) - It totally blew me away! I can't wait to go see it in 3d now What a ride!!! - I highly recommend : )

Hey Hydro, I recall when i initially started meditation, there were periods where i felt my mind was totally out of control. It seemed like the more i tried to relax and calm myself the more my thoughts just went spiraling down hill, picking up every single thing in it's path. It's different for everyone at first and i managed to find my peace very quickly. I recommend counting the breaths eg: "One (Inhale)" - "(Two (Exhale)" - "Three (Inhale)" - till 10 or 50 or 100, then start over again from 1. Try and follow your breath as you breath in and imagine it entering your nose, down your neck, through the middle of your body and gathering at your lower Tan Tien, as if blowing a bright white or blue smoke down a bottle with a circular shape but with a long cylindrical neck. Then on the exhale, imagine all that essence, scattered as the smoke would be within the bottle, condensing into a small dot in your lower Tan Tien.... (MEANWHILE still counting the in and out breaths.) Don't get stressed - Just keep doing it for at least 30 mins a day and you will advance. Good luck.

How do you guys feel about meditating in winter? - Do you just stay inside? We've got a bit of snow here now in Holland and it just looks so tempting. I biked to a big park nearby in the morning and did two hours of SFQ and Zhan Zhuang the other day in front of a lake. Had my boots on, thick socks, a sweat shirt, a winter coat, some burton insulated gloves and a pair of fuzzy ear warmers . I felt incredibly grounded, like a mountain. I feel extremely energetic before it begins to rain, while it rains and also while it snows and when there is snow everywhere. Anyone else feel this way?

http://damo-qigong.net/step1.htm Steps 1 to 18 on that website to me personally is the biggest treasure i have found in years of searching for genuine information. If you do sitting meditation with those principles + zhan zhuang + yoga asanas, then you're gold : )

Some of your posts i agree with, that one on the other hand i totally don't. It is contradictive in my opinion to say that Yin or female as you relate it, is stronger than Yang. Yin is nothing without Yang and vice versa. Maybe more Yin is stronger than less Yang and maybe More Yang is stronger than less Yin, but to say as a whole that Yin is stronger, or that Yang is stronger - goes against the very nature of Taoism and the perceived universe. A martial artist with greater Yang force will overcome a martial artist with minor Yin and one with a great force of Yin will easily overcome someone with less Yang - But one being more powerful than the other, should not come out of the mouth of a Taoist as far as i am concerned. It is in dis-balance that illusionary power is created, and in balance that true power is generated, not the other way around. It's like saying that if you throw a girl in a fight with a guy, by the laws of the universe she must win, because girls are naturally Yin... -
Hey Harold, In my experience if you just relax the breath and go to the nothingness, the chi will go exactly where it needs to. If for example i will the chi into my Tan Tien, i've noticed that after i release my will it goes to totally different places that i would never have directed it myself. It knows what it needs to do, so i let it do so, when it needs to go to the Ming Men, it will. Mine pulses very strongly. The pulsation is the size of a cherry tomato. I can recommend these yoga poses, which may help you activate the Ming Men: 1. Standing Forward Bend 2. Sitting Forward Bend 3. Upward facing dog 4. Camel The sitting forward bend, with both legs out in front of you does wonders for the Ming Men : ) If you do it deep and get your upper torso parallel to your legs, you will feel that whole lower back area opening up. Hold it for as long as you can 10 - 20 minutes. Good luck.

I have heard they use some of these techniques to transform male inmates into women to sell as prostitutes on the black market. Like they can take a guy, and even make him grow boobs. Natural jiggle and all.

Hey beautiful people, I had a rather interesting experience yesterday during sitting meditation. I did my yoga, then SFQ and sat down to meditate. It was just like any other day, unfortunately, however something about my thought process and consciousness was entirely different. Normally when i have thoughts, i realize that "i" am having thoughts; then i proceed to either regain my concentration and quiet or dismiss the thoughts. It was always a singular process carried out by one entity, the same being that realized there were thoughts, was the same being meditating, was the same being shutting the thoughts out. But today... The person meditating and the thoughts themselves were on two different planes of consciousness. It was like my mind said..."ok we over here are meditating, you guys over there think all you want". It's difficult to explain, it was like my mind was a big empty room separated by a glass wall. I could see the meditating mind and the thinking mind, but neither could interfere with each other, yet they were both working at the same time without conflict. My thoughts were going on developing as they would, spiraling out of control, but they were not affecting me. It was remarkable. I could switch between both the meditating part of my mind and the thinking part, without either stopping at any point and at the same time selectively choose which to participate in. It felt like the consciousness of my physical mind and the consciousness of my soul had separated for the first time in my life. I wasn't just a "me" or an "i" on one plane of understanding and existence, i had split in two - and my physical brain could acknowledge the existence of another consciousness - that which actually controlled the brain. It was like my brain for the first time in its life, realized that it's not the daddy of it all. It's so difficult to explain lol... Anyway i just wanted to share

Great read! I could relate with those points so well i got a jolt out of reading it! These are truly experiences that are difficult to put in sentences. There are so many words we have yet to invent to describe the experiences we have yet to understand. Thanx for the contribution : )

OP should be able to meditate without a coushion by now, while still maintaining the same altitude off the ground provided by the sitting aid

Do you think it's possible for your physical body and mind to have a dialogue with it's soul, but not as one center, rather two autonomous entities, both with their own opinions and thoughts? Could this explain why the complex of the mind as we understand it, is always in conflict about choice? - The little devil and the angel? It is possible that the reason for that is simple a silent dialogue between the Mind and the Soul? One we don't realize originates from two different sources until we can separate ourselves from the physical?
