  1. Eating and Running?

Hey everyone, sorry this isn't related to chi so much but I guess you could say running is its own kind of meditation, so hopefully this thread won't be moved haha. Anyway I've been having a hard time knowing what to eat before running.. I drank some natures valley fruit/vegetable drink and I felt like throwing up half a mile into the run. Which really bums me out cause I just recovered from alot of soreness and had to stop my run about a quarter in. I also had some oatmeal. What works best for you? Thanks
  2. Eating and Running?

Ah Awesome =D. I've thought of getting them but apparently they really really amell after awhile haha. Now im just thinking of making my own huaraches =P.
  3. Eating and Running?

Hm yeah same here, im not completely convinced either. Plus if your fate is to die a week from now, might aswell sit on the couch, drink redbull and eat bbq chips all day. Or go do something awesome, upto you really haha. @taomeow. "And my 54-year-old taiji teacher, when I asked him for a reference to a good TCM practitioner, said, sorry, I don't know any doctors at all, I have never been sick in my life... " Hahah must be awesome to hear. Anyway yeah I was going to mention the definition of what you or I meant, although I thought I might rabble a bit to much mentioning that taiji is strenuous aswell. I was going to mention the low forms, I mean they raise your heart rate im sure. If horse stance for as long as I can does I'd just think they would.
  4. Eating and Running?

Hm so would you agree strenuous activity may be another alternative to living a long healthy life then?
  5. Eating and Running?

Hm but strenuous exercise lowers your resting heart beat..So maybe in your early years, exercise to compensate for your old age. I've also heard of the same theory being taken into practice, say stopping your heart during meditation. But there are alot of dangers in the beginning stages of that training if you're not monitored. Also I think Olympic athletes have a resting heart rate of about 25 or 30.
  6. Beginers Increasing Chi Question

Meditate, and Keep yourself wanting more.
  7. Poll: ET Contactee?

Only close thing really I'd say was a dream/deja vu. I woke up resting my head on my counter next to my computer, it was in a house in florida, in that house and the one before weird things took place, before my practice. Anyway I woke up and notice parents were outside so I went out to get the groceries and as I went out I stood there for a second and remembered a dream (I would imagine). Where I looked up and it was completely dark and then there was just green, the closer to the center of it I could'nt see, but because the "ship" was black I could'nt really get a look at it, being my eyes were focused on the green. The green took up pretty much all I could see and was reasonably close to the ground. It was a green hue, then I just got the groceries haha. Bout it, never really wondered about it.
  8. Eating and Running?

Aw well that's a bummer. I was just wondering if I could try a triple quarter pounder when im almost done, ya know for extra energy.
  9. I wana be blunt and ask a question?

oh totally haha. Well yea hey you're probably bound to see that sometimes to, I really would'nt be surprised. I guess there covered by dorritoz though haha.
  10. Eating and Running?

Hm, the reason I've actually been a bit uneasy about the anti strenuous activity advice, is because I read born to run. Basically telling me I don't exactly "have" to slow down.. I use to always walk/run barefoot as a kid to, so it isn't a change really. Anyway I just didn't wana start out with it, felt like I may be forcing info on some people, if that makes any sense to you.
  11. I wana be blunt and ask a question?

Hm then you'd probably be surprised. Some things I've seen just strength related would appear to be super human haha.
  12. Atleast it's literal shit and not metaphorical shit haha. Nothing more annoying then not knowing what shit is actual shit.
  13. Eating and Running?

Hm sounds like it makes sense but there are marathoners who live to very old age.. Perhaps having a slightly off balance wu xing isn't so bad? or am I missing something?
  14. Eating and Running?

    I'll try it.
  15. Eating and Running?

Hm how do you guys view eating more the night before a morning run? Then just taking some water before and during the run? Think that'd work pretty well?
  16. Eating and Running?

sounds simple enough. I'll try it haha.
  17. Eating and Running?

definitely look into it, thanks alot.
  18. talking to people

    very well said
  19. What happens when "Jing" flys everywhere ?

Hm, im not so sure I agree. So many people looking jing herbs as though they need it, diagnosing themselves. The fact is many people who regularly masturbate may live to old age, comfortably or not is another question. Your first 20 years you should'nt be worrying about depleting all of your jing though. If people are looking to jing herbs for symptoms they have been seeing, they should see an acupuncturist instead of just diagnosing themselves. Irish, sorry if it seems as though I didn't answer your question. Its just this is something I believe should be addressed and not propetuated.
  20. Who would win in a fight?

Hahahah Ya man if Lesner won I'd be so mad. Brock lesner would have to be my new favorite animal to. World would be upside down
  21. Who would win in a fight?

I'd much rather watch Brock Lesner Fight a Polar Bear. Just me...
  22. Do genes determine mental health?

Hm yea I agree with that for the most part. there are people with "actual" ADHD. Its not nearly what people in the general public will describe as ADHD. You really can't hold a conversation with someone that has it, its practically as if they dont have the memory to continue a simple or important conversation. Although being loud in class seems to be the new "symptom" for ADHD. ADHD to most pharma companies is just another drug to push, and sadly there bullshit as dripped into our schools.
