  1. are you ever gonna die?

This question reminds me of a scene from 'Team America', where the male character(puppet)wants to get into the pants of the female one: Her: "...I don't wanna suffer the pain of losing someone again, if you could tell me you will never die I would make love to you right now." Him: *pauses* then says ".........I.... will never die!!!!!!!!!!" I love that film.
  2. Kunlun in the movie Avatar

Avatar is another fine movie by George Lucas, but I think he should have included the Ewoks in this one too. They had a much better party at the end of 'Jedi' than they did in Avatar. I did like the overall 'Blueman' theme though, similar to 'arrested Development', a highly underated U.S Sit-com. All in all it's a credit to the Star Wars series.
  3. The "Get a Job, Have a Wife, Make a Child , Get a Life" Thread

At least if you're not monogamous you can now blame it on your genes! Wahayyy, let the good times role!!! http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...ml?nav=hcmodule
  4. Is it OK to charge people money for instruction?

    ...Especially if she's hot! sorry.
  5. Can someone explain this feeling?

Yes, that's the problem... lucid dreaming, and is lucid dreaming an OBE, anytime a lucid dream started, as in I became conscious in a dream it then returned me to my body and tripped the vibration/separation state creating the full experience. But my focus was to create that state and not stay within a lucid dream state. Consciousness is divisible, and the level of consciousness within a lucid dream is far less stark than an OBE, although a level is still there. I wouldn't call lucid dreaming an OBE, it can help lead to it, but it still retains a dreamlike quality that an actual OBE doesn't. Meditation can bypass the need for an OBE, somewhat similar to either going to Africa or simply watching it on TV. Once a person has through a practiced state of meditation reached that level they don't need to leave their body, it's all there and can be viewed. More similar to remote viewing, the practice of one can often lead to the other.
  6. Can someone explain this feeling?

A conscious OBE proceeds with a feeling of intense vibration throughout the physical/energy body as the two separate. A falling sensation is more likely the inner body realigning with the physical body again, perhaps due to a slight dis-allignment due to the meditative state.
  7. Has Anyone Faced Their Demons?

    Well said. Exactly.
  8. Has Anyone Faced Their Demons?

I'm not sure if your practice is a good thing to do or not, I also had the same dilemma as you, as in does experiencing them simply feed them and make them stronger. I still think being aware of the dark as well as the light is a good thing, but I will say this, there is a stage where those negative feelings come out of their own accord, and when they do it's no picnic, at that point wave after wave of almost uncontrollable negative emotions envelope you. It's hell on earth. I often wonder though if being aware of them beforehand would have reduced the intensity when they did come out, I have no exact answer I can give to that.
  9. retention makes you gay

While perusing this thread I found this highly offensive picture, how rude! I feel so strongly about this I feel a need to post it again, just so everyone can see how rude it truly is! Lesbians are not put on this earth for mens sexual gratification, I mean fine, if they are doing it in public and they draw a crowd that's all well and good, but two girls minding their own damn lesbian business in front of a photographer, should be allowed their privacy! I'm deeply offended and have been looking at this picture for the last ten minutes to ascertain how offended I truly am. How rude! Are there anymore?
  10. decreased sensitivity

I understand, the tail does rather wag the dog sometimes
  11. Marijuana, strength training, nei kung

Hahaha... that's hilarious, no effect on motor skills, haha...... man, I must have been smoking tea leaves or something else all those years ago when I couldn't move from the sofa to change the channel from a rather tedious episode of 'happy Days'..... haha, I suppose it doesn't also make you hungry either hahaha Edit: ....Or stoned ahahaha
  12. decreased sensitivity

Ya, I've always considered porn the male equivalent of female 'window shopping', bit pointless really, and the energy spurted could have been used to attract a 'real' woman. I'm a bit perplexed though about your masturbation + porn = LOSER equation though, bearing in mind Glenn morris himself mentioned spanking the funky monkey in path notes and you have alluded elsewhere that he may have used it in his practice for kundalini, my memory on that is a bit shaky though, I might be wrong. Edit: Drew....sex with elves!! Drew, you need to get out more often mate get off that internet man
  13. Strange Energy Peaking at the Full Moon

Hi Sundragon I'm kind of surprised no one has answered this for you already, it seems to have been on the board for quite some hours. I guess it may have been answered a few times before, can't quite remember myself. What you're experiencing is quite normal, you are developing energy and your sensitivity to it is increasing. The moon has a physical and energetic effect on all physical life/nature. The physical stuff information you can probably find yourself or already know. The moon acts as a kind of funnel for inner energies to flow down/into the earth plane, so during the waxing and close to full moon stage it is quite usual to experience a higher amount of sensitivity or psychic disturbance. If it's making you feel a bit wobbly and agitated I would simply suggest doing some form of earthing exercise whatever that may be in your qigong. That should help. Nice Lion avatar by the way edit:ahaa, Drew got there first.
  14. Igniting Others

You know there are a lot of ancient stories(myths?)of Daoist sages' walking through a villiage and without saying a word or really doing a thing transforming all the people. How? Becasue they had cultivated their energy to such a high level that their personal energy would effect a change of some kind, whether the people liked it or wanted it is another matter. They do exist, although they may not be Chinese these days, the results are not always pretty though...... still by that point they are usually long gone.....very wise of them Working on yourself is the best favour you can do for anyone, your energy will effect them if it has been developed, and that way you didn't choose for it to, it just happened. Not your fault.
  15. Merry Christmas 2009

May Santa empty his sack all over the floor of your homes!!! But seriously, merry Christmas to you all, hope you all have a great one!!!
  16. Last Tiger Killed in China

HAHAHA, ya, that's true, they love a good dinner more than anything else! Years ago I read a book about Chinese culture by the writer/philosopher/inventor Lin yutang and he said something very similar to the following: 'A westerner when he sees a new species he has never seen before wonders what are its origins and habits, but a Chinese when he sees a new species wonders 'what does it taste like?'!' Donkey penis is also quite the dish (donkey dumplings aren't bad either, if you can cope with suddenly screaming 'EEEHHAWWW EEEHHAAWWW' for hours after).
  17. 13,000 year old tree

You know when I read the thread title I was hoping to see a huuuuugggeeee tree scraping the heavens, like a redwood but instead saw a shrub...... Then upon reading the article I realized my stupidity(yes, it took me that long). Now this is a tree that has taken note of Daoist principles: 'It has stood on its windswept hillside in southern California for at least 13,000 years, making it the oldest known living organism' The tree that bends(flexible)is the one that doesn't break in the storm, whereas the rigid tree snaps. 'it has repeatedly renewed itself to ensure its survival through successive periods of drought, frost, storms and high winds' 'the Jurupa Oak scrapes by in dry chaparral, wedged between granite boulders and stunted by high winds, atop a small hill in plain sight of suburban backyards' The tall and strong tree is one of the first to get cut down by the wood cutter, but the ugly and gnarled tree gets left alone Maintain the lowest position(ie. close to the earth) Now that tree is definitely a living master, immortality?
  18. Last Tiger Killed in China

I'm kind of assuming the real point is 'the last 'wild' tiger in China killed', and not that there are no tigers in China 'cos they got 'em in the zoos'. There are vast areas of China where people don't live so I'm sure there are a few knocking about.... but true, much less than before...much much less, especially due to Chinese traditional medicines' use of ground down tiger bone in particular. I wouldn't take everything the Daily Mail(the referenced newspaper)says too literally, it's a very right wing prim and proper U.K newspaper that loves to point the finger wherever and whenever it can. But yeah, it's a bit sad, that's for sure.
  19. Merry Solstice !

As far as I understand it, the winter solstice is something of a 'Daoist Christmas', ya I know it can't really be compared like that, but you know what I mean. Anyone know how it was 'celebrated' within Daoist circles. I understand there were some ways.... anyone care to elaborate? Laotzu didn't come down my Chimney last night and leave me any pressies, I assume he was practicing wuwei Happy solstice to all Edit: where's Yoda, he might have an idea, Yoda, what does man tak sin do on winter solstice?
  20. Is there an objective world?

Is there an objective world? No, but there are objective girlfriends who, no matter what you say, will object. Sorry. I'm off now.
  21. Dealing with negative people.

Your family sounds just like mine man!! Are you sure you're not my brother! I think all the advice is good and I think it was Lino that mentioned if you can practice in the battlefield then it's good stuff and will stand you in good stead. I would like to recommend to you the most effective technique I ever found of dealing with a depressive mother and family who like to shit on you because it makes them feel psychologically or energetically empowered(all be it for a brief moment)it's called 'Move out!'. If possible do it. If not possible then try as best you can to turn everything they say into a positive, a ridiculous positive, for example "you smile too much" - "oh, you know that's just cos I'm so so very happy to see you!" then effect an even bigger stupid smile and walk away, " "your stupid!" - "yes I am, watch this!" then do a real stupid dance and walk away. It'll get right on their nerves, to the point where they will either think twice before dumping their shit on you in order to feel better of they will end up laughing. If you can move out do so, 6 months plus and you'll feel great! Trust me on that, then they can't get you anymore, you go round to the house and they start again then it's 'bye bye, I got stuff to do', the only time they may truly be able to pin you down is Christmas. Don't think you can change them because it's highly unlikely that you can, compassion is a big trap where depressives are concerned, they love it and need it, but it won't change them until they realize themselves it's their own issues they need to face instead of dumping their sadness on others. I'm not saying don't love them, I'm not saying don't understand how it was they got to that stage(one day due to life's 'irony' you may just find yourself in the same position)but I am saying you can't change it and trying to do so to some degree will bring you down further. Moving away from them can help you find your center and strength if you haven't already done that before, it will surprise you how much better you will feel. They may not be keen on it though. Don't let the bastards get you down, yes they are your family and they brought you up and fed and clothed you, they deserve respect and love for that, but that is not equal to having the right to make your life a misery, that right they do not have! Consider this, once their favorite whipping boy is gone all that sadness/anger/pain or whatever has no outlet ie. 'you', they will only have a couple of choices, find another whipping boy or look and face it within themselves instead of externalizing it, then maybe they'll heal, or maybe they won't. You can't change a depressive into a non-depressive, seriously, you can't..... I tried for many years, it may seem I'm lacking a bit in the compassion department where this is concerned, but I used to be naturally compassionate, and I tried and tried and tried. It didn't do me any favours I can tell you, just made me worse and them too, in the long run. Love 'em and leave 'em, then go back and visit on holidays.
  22. Don't know where to go

That one's important!! Read it again and again.... this is perhaps the one time where practice should exceed the results of the practice!
  23. What to do if there is nothing you can do?

I've kind of just been thinking a bit more about your question and my answer and I think I should elaborate a bit.... At first your question seems like a non-starter, ie. obviously a person who is paralyzed can do nothing, except observe or perhaps close his/her eyes assuming they can that is, or if in fact they indeed want to.... then again internally they can do something, so your question hits at something a bit deeper. Things effect people emotionally, the desire to act in any case is often the direct result of emotion, emotion is connected to ego and its conditioning. If something really does create a strong desire to act, to the point of creating unbalance then it is something within the person that needs to be released I would say. I have only been in two situations in my life where no matter what I did there was no result, and constantly banging my head against a brick wall only resulted in more pain for all concerned, I gave up focusing on the externals and realized the outer situation was only drawing out something internal that needed to be faced/experienced. Not doing is extrememly difficult for me sometimes, and in those two situations even more so. Finally I gave up trying to do in those situations, life often has a checkmate position simply to draw out something that needs to be released. It's easy and comfortable to act, as this kind of offsets an internal pain..... but sometimes internal pain has its own logic and has to be felt in order to be released.... yet the ego will fight it tooth and nail. Perhaps it's simply learning to view how any situation effects you personally and what is the true motivation for acting, and is that simply a knee jerk reaction to some inner pain that hasn't truly been faced. Sometimes an act of compassion can be refused, and you may think that is totally wrong for that person... but it is their choice. 'what to do when there is nothing you can do'....'nothing', is a terribly hard path when someone you care for is destroying themselves, but who knows if they need to destroy themselves in order to learn something... no one can say for sure.... life's checkmate position is never pleasant, sometimes you have to just sit and watch and if it gets too much close your eyes for a bit.
  24. What to do if there is nothing you can do?

Question: "What to do if there is nothing you can do?" Answer: "Nothing" Not as easy as it sounds.
  25. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

I'll take that cryptic answer to mean: 'there's a very strong possibilty that hot asian girls at least enhance the enlightenment process'. I for one am gonna' give your system a damn good go little1! Again!!! I had prepared some pre-duel orderves, the 'prawn vol au vents' were particularly good. but most of them went to waste due to your lack-lustre attitude toward dueling. By the way, I'm not sure we actually had agreed the venue, I was waiting outside Tescos, don't tell me you were waiting outside one of the last branches of 'Mr Wimpy' in the country were you!!!
