That's true.... but you can lower the vibration of that body in order to be able to see on this plane. But it's like trying to see under water without any goggles on, very blurry. There is a book I read years ago which was an absolute pile of crap on Astral projection...or OBE, or whatever people like to call it. I couldn't find a picture of it just now, but it was written by someone called Sylvan Muldoon and called The Projection of the Astral body. Mostly it was just someone talking balls that they had put together using information from other books. One reason it was quite apparent that this person was talking out of their backside was the fact that in all his so called 'astral wanderings' he stated that he simply walked(floated)about in this physical world and did exciting stuff like watching his mum cooking. He also stated that he had never seen any of these other 'planes' that people talk of. To anyone with some experience of OBE this is highly strange. Almost all OBE's will start in another plane, because that is the natural place for that energy body. There are more people that experience that than ever experience an OBE knocking about in the physical world. It takes real conscious effort to bring 'down' that body into this plane, not easy at all. Another sign of someone talking out of their back passage is any mention of the 'silver cord'. No such thing. It's a big giveaway when someone says that. Sometimes I think it was deliberately put in books by the old occultists to see who would take the bait, and as a sure sign that someone didn't know what they were talking about. -

Concentration fizzles out and then the OBE fizzles out. Developed concentration equals longer lengths of time, another factor is the state of the body, how tired it may be, less tired and it will pull you back much quicker. Yet the more tired the body may be the more concentration is required to maintain consciousness within the other body. -

Is This The Truth About Kundalini?

Thanks for all you have written so far Vaj, it's been most informative. I think I just have one more question for the time being, although your answer may illicit another question from me Can you define 'right' for me?. In my view that's a bit difficult. I have no interest in morals...although I understand why society created them, but as far as I personally experience there is a period of time where morals go out the window due to a breaking down of the ego and a rising of the inner darkness. I realize that after this stage the person has somewhat reduced themselves to some kind of zero state, degree by degree more than in one fell swoop, and that after this time a gradual building of the connection to the source/light...hmmm, not sure what to call it, kind of gives a person a 'leaning' shall we say to 'right action', as opposed to societies structure that says 'if you're a good boy I'll like you', which then follows onto into adulthood and the socially conditioned self. I think I've partially answered my own question Vaj, but give it a crack anyway. @Cat: The rose tinted ones are the best. For those who enjoy rude awakenings when they slip off it's especially so. -

Ok, so I've highlighted the main points of my next question. Now, if two energies merge to create a new one then they are creating a new one...not a previous one surely. Or you mean, in the same way that the sexual act creates an energy signature on earth which attracts a soul/spirit into the physical then in the other dimensions it's the same? Is that what you mean? I always assumed that a spirit can simply reduce their vibration to a certain degree in order to inhabit that plane for a time. It may be a bit wobbly, but it's still possible without losing your memory. This brings me to a next question. Exactly what is the point to be born into a possibly slower dimension? Why would any soul be re-born then re-born again and again, gradually moving away from 'the good stuff' as I call it. General degeneration? Wrong action? Choice or not? As far as I can make out Vaj (and you can correct me if I'm way wrong) Buddhism is a practice of expanding the mind (poor term I know) in order to be aware of all the possible views and dimensions where one has existed and perhaps even not existed, onwards and upwards/inwards. This expansion reduces suffering in some way, as being able to view a situation from 'above' gives true perspective, which then reduces suffering due to understanding. And so on ad-infinitum. And then what happens? What was the point? I don't mean to sound trite by the way, I'm just really wondering what was the whole point in the first place....ya, I know there wasn't exactly a 'first place'....but seriously, what was the point? -

Ya, sorry, my bad. It's always confusing me to be frank. Very interesting, it reminded me to steer clear of the subject of Math! Not sure I get where the infinite number of rooms is coming from on Earth. As in bodies. I've probably missed the point Mandrake, it's not your fault though. Perhaps my problem is surely it should be a steady number over time. Perhaps my question should be why so many now? Actually I would suggest it may be because all the 'humans' who then die and end up knocking about on the inner planes then keep spawning 'energy babies' which have nowhere else to go except down/in in order to gain enough velocity to go 'out'. It supports my theory as stated in my response to Vaj anyway. What do you think? -

Ninpo-me-this-ninjutsu-me-that replied to RongzomFan's topic in General Discussion
Ok, got it....well, kind of. I'll probably ask you the same thing again in a few months, but be patient with me it takes my brain a bit of getting around. In any case I've realized this has nothing to do with what I'm gonna' talk about(my fault, not yours) Agreed, my view is also the same. I also see the word 'reincarnation' as a misnomer due to the prefix 're'in the English language suggesting time. From my own experience I have see what is apparently myself.... or some form of myself... as a big oval 'thing' with consciousness and some forms of tentacles(no better word, sorry) protruding and on each end a kind of globe containing one of my/its lifetimes..... happening at that very same one time(seriously, if anyone else has had this let me know, I dont wanna be the only nutter in the room). Now, this is the part I wanna talk about. A person won't get to their first cause. I disagree... but then again you may have a difference of opinion than I do as to what 'first cause' means. My meaning is this, I totally agree that there are people knocking about that are not essentially 'human', or from the 'norm', if there is a 'norm'. There are some strange things that incarnate and pass themselves off as ...er....human...for want of a better term. Bearing in mind they are not on the 'up and up' if you know what I mean, their evolution is totally different, in fact it may be fair to say Buddhism, or any other kind of spirituality would be totally inappropriate for them. Who knows, perhaps Daoists are all a particular kind of evolution seeking to stay within the physical plane and dimensions close to it, never wanting to leave, as this is their absolute home(if that's possible). Not to say that they couldn't choose to become liberated mind you if they wanted to. Anyway, back to lust and friction which is my main thrust(no pun intended...I didn't intend a Freudian slip either, but that's par for the course...nothing like a good long club by the way), so.... Vaj you seem like a man of the dimensions, so would you not agree that there are ...hmmm...terminology is getting problematic...there are 'souls'(just cant find a better term)that are created through two....er....souls, merging their energy in a beautiful synergy...candle lights and all that too if you fancy...bit of Barry White also.....of energy, for the specific purpose of creating a 'baby', not a physical one(you know what I mean). If that is so(which it is)surely it's not too hard to look up your first cause, it's a piece of cake in fact when you've passed on. Not everyone has some kind of deeper mysterious unknowable first cause, actually many beings beginning is rather dull really. No mystery at all. Oh I know everyone would like to think so though. Just, here's your father and here's your mother would do in many cases. Spirits, or whatever one may call them, are getting up to the same old rubbish on the planes close to the physical as they do here! Anyway, I'm not sure I have a final point here Vaj, simply I'm not sure that everyone is suitable for Buddhism due to their own 'home' dimension, and also there are many souls/spirits or whatever one may call them....who's origin is quite basic and simple actually. Why would they need to go anywhere if they are already 'home'. Lets talk dimensional beings Vaj, 'cos that subject rocks in my opinion! -

Obviously that isn't your quote above Vaj, I was just having a little fun . I do wanna ask you something though, it's not about Kundalini, but little else on this thread for the last six or so pages is, so I'll take it that no one minds. All this talk of friction and good old fashioned lust and stuff has got me thinking. The whole reincarnation deal I believe to be quite true, but not quite true. As you know the math for reincarnation for the world population just doesn't add up, unless something else is happening. I take it that the Buddhist view is based on independent origin, and that view is the right way to view it, a person may not necessarily get to the end of the view to see what's happening, but that's the view they should maintain(am I right so far??)? -

I believe Mr. Ralis is spot on. 'No mind' meditation frequently leads to it. Lowering the minds brainwaves lets the mind begin to perceive that which is normally blocked out by the brains normal brain wave pattern. So you get the idea of people who meditate becoming enlightened and somewhat all knowing. They've simply been able to reduce the brainwaves to theta while still conscious. I should say though, that's not considered enlightenment.... I'm not sure what that stage is called by Buddhists. -

Too much information .... as in knowing what people are thinking and feeling. Sometimes you really don't wanna' know. It can be rather disappointing. It's not like you have a choice... it simply pops up. Still, I suppose is the long run it's a good thing where understanding humanity and yourself is concerned. Headaches were also a problem as someone else mentioned, the secret smile seemed to take care of that quite well though. -

You have no idea Rainbow! I had to bite my lip constantly. I did once try a whole day without saying anything I considered amusing, I failed miserably. Never again, it was hard work let me tell you. Your story made me feel like this Taomeow :( Actually I somewhat know how you feel, singing is one of the things I'd love to be able to do, but I'm absolutely horrendous. It's always bugged me that what comes out of my mouth when trying to sing is totally different to what is in my mind. I think for someone like me no amount of training would do it, I think there's a definite genetic component, and my genetic voice box is going nowhere. In another world though my voice is fantastic; however, in that world Spam is also considered delicious, so that's not saying much for me. I say you should go to a park and let rip. Ya, I've found the same kind of irony in my own relationships. Swings and roundabouts. I'm sure women have the same thing, it's just they seem to be much more forgiving than us males. Looks like your stuck with it Perhaps it's just an acquired taste, like caviar, or root canal surgery. -

I feel for you, I really do, but it could be worse. She could sing in public with you there! I used to have a girlfriend years ago that warned me in the beginning in her broken English that she had a "very disgusting laugh". I had no idea what she really meant, I mean how bad can someones laugh be. Well I found out one day in a packed restaurant when I cracked a joke. It was like a combination of a whale song and a Siamese cat on heat, which actually sounds better than it was. Everyone in the restaurant stopped and looked, mouths agape, as was mine. That laugh seemed to last a lifetime and a half. I made a point after that to never tell her anything remotely funny in public again. So always remember, things can always be worse! Why don't you try recording her as she might like to hear her own voice, so she can enjoy it as much as you do. Then when you play it back she may realize. And you won't have had to say a word. -

And so we come to the crux of suffering. It's subjective. It isn't mental torture to me. Maybe that's why people are cruel. They wouldn't experience that emotional pain themselves so they don't think others would either. How about if she considers grammar mental torture. Unlikely mind you, but not impossible. Try reading a Mills & Boon book and you'll know what I mean. -
how do humans perceive another person's suffernig?
Ninpo-me-this-ninjutsu-me-that replied to jenn992's topic in General Discussion
Sometimes it's simply that another persons suffering reminds then of their own repressed suffering and makes them uncomfortable, and they run off as fast as their legs can carry them. Not being able to directly feel and experience another's emotions/feelings is also the big problem, were everyone able to experience each others emotion most of the worlds pain and suffering would be over in a day. But sadly that will not happen anytime soon. All anyone can do is work on themselves to break down the barriers of feeling their own mind creates, and possibly be vigilant of others actions. There are certainly a fair few people in the world who do seem to 'get off' on another's suffering. Keep away from those people.... they rarely change. 'Forgive them, for they know not what they do.'. That guy knew what he was talking about. People don't know the suffering they cause, because they are stuck in their own minds...unable to directly perceive the mind and feelings of others.... if they truly could they would be horrified as to the exact pain they cause. One day they will experience that pain as their own, and they will either degenerate further, or rise above it having learned empathy the hard way. In either case, it's best to keep away from them in my view. I wish you happiness. Don't worry, over a period of years you will be able to spot them a mile off and give them a wide birth. But it does take time. Watch out for the grin. -

I honestly don't know where anyone can go with this Mal/Cat/Cheerleader thing. I've seen this subject I don't know how many times in recent months. Where can it go? Mal says he feels the decision was justified, Cat obviously does too. Raymond, as can be seen does not...and a lot of people seem to support his view. Mal isn't gonna' say he feels he's wrong and no one else is gonna' say they feel their view isn't justified either. So really and truly, where can it go? Except in circles. I was not involved in that particular thread so it isn't for me to say anyone is right or wrong, or without justification of their grievance. I don't think anyone would say that Cat didn't really feel aggrieved, and Raymond quite obviously is aggrieved. As far as I can see Mal is the poor bastard in the middle. Maybe he could have chosen a different way....but he didn't. What more can he say except he will try to not let it happen that way again? You can put someone in a position where you say you think they are wrong and you want an explanation/apology... but if they really truly say they think they did what they think is right, it doesn't necessarily mean it was, or wasn't right... but it is their view, and to keep hammering on about it is to try to force someone into saying something which is actually against their principles or their truth is not so great. Personally I view that as a tad cruel..... although I won't say that peoples' grievances are not necessarily justified... but still... I always believe a person should be given an exit point... I don't wanna see a person on the floor getting the boot stuck in repeatedly.... I dunno. Everyone aggrieved seems to have a point which is justified. Although I have no right to say 'let it go', I do really wanna' say that. Be like the flowing stream and all that. -

Ok....but Leo, the Qur'an/circumcision quote is what I'm looking for. Something similar to what you quote below from the Bible. Follow the religion of Abraham is not equal to circumcision being quoted and suggested. The religion of Abraham...Judaism no doubt...has many criteria/rules. And why is the Qur'an suggesting Muslims follow Judaism??? I'm confused. Now I got a problem Leo... and I think you should too. Judging by the above text God is condoning slavery. You'd think he'd mention that slavery isn't right, and to enslave another human being(one of his children after all)would be against something Godly, but no, all he says is make sure you cut off their foreskin! Is it just me Leo, or is something a bit off here? And I realize that you are a Muslim and not a follower of Judaism, but still.... surely in anyones book it looks like God had been hitting the heavy stuff that day. or, perhaps it wasn't really God who said that. I dunno Leo, it makes you think doesn't it. -
