Or a combination of the two. Fairly common with the age of digital for photographers to tweak their photos before sale. -

That was dung xiao ping talking about communism/captalism. Sorry, I'd just hate to see Mao get the credit for that quote. He killed millions through his ridiculous policies and destroyed much of Chinese culture, whereas Dung xiao ping is responsible for Chinese people being able to wear Nike and buy iphones. Not sure that's a great thing but hey ho. This is a great book 'The private life of Chairman Mao' by his personal physician of 20 odd years Zhisui Li. Well worth a read. Depressing as hell though in some ways. No happy ending either...well, not for the doctor at least, but Mao certainly had a few -

No, the head is disappearing because the head is moving faster than the legs which is why there is more blur and even completely disappearing . It's NOT impossible to do, it's common. look at the picture I took and posted before of the car, exactly the same principle and technique. This photo absolutely does NOT need to be photoshopped. In fact it would be a real pain in the ass to alter it on photoshop for the exact reasons you just mentioned...and I have used photoshop extensively to fine touch some of my own photos. It would take hours to do that on photoshop but about 5 minutes to do it badly with a camera(like those). You don't need photoshop for that. It was done with an SLR on manual. Therefore the chair looks solid. See below, this is another I took. Look at the numbers behind the man walking. Solid. Obviously this mans whole body was moving at the same speed so you do not have one part that is clear. To get a clear picture of one part of the body all I would have to do is get you to sit and stand up several times, your legs would be picked up by the camera whereas the rest of your body wouldn't be, slower the shutter speed the less it would pick up. By the way, the below example is no shining example of photography, I took it hand held at a slow shutter speed so there is some blur in the background. Easily remedied with a tripod. It's not. I could teach you to be able to do the same with the right equipment in under 5 minutes and so could any photography student who had been studying the subject for around 3 months or less, depending on the teachers syllabus. Photography students and professionals emulate this everyday around the world, but they are not trying to pass it off as something it's not. It's truly a very very simple technique and effect Scotty. The fact that as the set of pictures progresses the light is more and more apparent is a clear indication of the shutter speed being reduced, hence more and more light getting into the lense and less of the persons body being picked up. Had the photographer been a professional, or at the very least competent, the exposure for each picture would have looked to the human eye to be the same. A simple interplay between the shutter speed and the aperture is all that would be necessary. A good photographer would have done that.... that would have been more believable. Edit/ps: Look at the foot of the guy....completely solid and clear because it's not moving. Same same. -

I second your opinion Paul........totally Time delayed photography with moving objects was I think one of the second or third techniques my old photography teacher taught me(R.I.P)many years ago. The only difficulty due to the slow shutter speed is overexposure(too much light)which those pictures have. Difficult to take that kind of picture without the picture being over exposed(not impossible though). If it was taken with one of those happy snappy digital cameras then it would have had to have been turned onto manual as opposed to automatic, which not many of those kind of cameras can do. If it had been on automatic the camera would have compensated for the window back light; and the person, chair and so on in the foreground would have been dark. The more likely answer is this was done with an SLR on manual, with a slow shutter speed deliberately, and as Paul said this is why the chair is clear(not moving). Had the SLR been on automatic, again, the foreground would be dark..... the aperture in the camera reduces in size so as to not allow too much light in, this darkens the foreground...this is another reason why this camera was definitely on manual....couldn't happen on automatic(the camera balances out the light on automatic). This begs the questions why was the camera on manual.... obviously to get that effect. I will say further that these picture were taken on a tripod, there not even close to impromptu(if they were supposed to be). The reason I say this is because under a sixtieth of a second(which to get that kind of movement the camera must be)a hand held camera will show hand shake, no matter how steady the hand. These picture are taken much slower than a sixtieth of a second yet the chair is still sharp. The overexposure is really a dead giveaway. The light source is definitely from the screen and not someones radiating aura. They should have paid a professional for some good ones. -

Come on sloppy.... if you could really disappear would you tell the world? I mean really, then you'd get thousands of thousands of students turning up wanting to learn. Then a load of 'em may go off and rob a bank.... then some agencies would turn up and shut you down or use you for their own purposes. As for the using clairvoyance to find someone or a dead body this has been done many a time. I'm sure you can find some examples online somewhere. That's fairly common as far as my reading goes. -

Those car-ge are always up to no good. I remember a story about a gen-jutsu master once being summoned in front of an emperor and then everyone swearing blind afterwards that he turned into a dragon and disappeared. It's not to say that I think it's impossible to disappear.... but I doubt that anyone that can do it will ever promote themselves as being able to do it. What would be the point other than money? You can't really ever trust a camera, even your own....and even if you could it could always be shown to be some form of photographic technique even if it wasn't. You can't even trust your own eyes, the other week I met a beautiful girl at a bar, the next morning she was anything but beautiful! A clear case of gen-jutsu. I think she spiked my beer with alcohol, Naughty kunoichi that she was. edit: mixed up my terms -
I like the sound of that.... but to be quite honest a tulip is already so beautiful that I wouldn't wanna change it into anything... and certainly not into an over demanding princess. "where's my tiara? When are you gonna buy me a new rug for my castle? My throne needs a new cushion(matching colors). What have you done for me lately?" I think I'll stick with kissing surfs and admiring the tulips.

Here's a picture I took myself last year of a car practicing gold light body thingy. The only difference is mine isn't badly overexposed. I should have done it with a nice bright back light to add that ethereal effect. I actually do have a few of those.... generally, technically that's called a crap photo. Then again it does depend what effect you are going for. No photoshop required. I think you can see the evidence is clear. The car is definitely levitating. -
hahahaha ya, but what does she turn into? Or perhaps I should ask what was she before she turned into the proverbial princess?

Do genes determine mental health?
Ninpo-me-this-ninjutsu-me-that replied to goldisheavy's topic in General Discussion
Genetics or not, how does one quantify sanity? It seems to me that mental illness is only considered mental illness when you can no longer function within society, ie. get and keep a job/make and keep friends and so on. But by degree the majority of people in the world IMV could be regarded as mentally ill, or having some form of serious issues due to societies structure putting the majority of people way out of balance. It's not natural for anyone to work 8 hours a day, at least at a job they dislike, like perhaps the majority of individuals in the world do. What amount of repression is needed for this? And what knock-on effects does it have for those around them, spouses, children family and friends; this in turn effects others connected with them. Personally I believe manufactured society to be totally to blame, in one form or another. We wouldn't have these problems if we were still hanging out under the mango trees spending a couple of hours a day picking fruit and catching the odd rabbit here and there. And if we did by chance have some so called 'mentally ill' people, we'd probably treat them the same as the native American Indians did and consider them divine and integrate them into the tribe. -

Well, me too Mal, but since I lost the 'central flushing' key fob it's been almost impossible. I think I need a technician to come and attach his laptop to it. I honestly preferred my old Ford Fiesta 1.1 bog to this new fangled Maclaren state 'o the art crapper. -
Could my dead master be contacting me and giveing me hints?
Ninpo-me-this-ninjutsu-me-that replied to mewtwo's topic in General Discussion
It's entirely possible your dead master is trying to contact you! If anything has been close to you in life then there's no reason they wouldn't guide you from the other side! For example, I used to have a Gerbil, and since he died I have felt guided to eat sunflower seeds intermittently throughout my life, I even have almost uncontrollable urges to make a mess on my bedding and wait for someone else to clean it up and then bite them when they try to. In all seriousness, I'm sure it's possible and happens often, but I do agree with Mr. Songs to some degree. You have your own ability to be creative, don't put yourself down...and if something/someone else is guiding you positively then that's all well and good, I don't think it's really that important to know who/what it is, as long as it has a positive effect, and I rather doubt those on the other side need that recognition. And my final piece of advice to you is.....don't ever own a gerbil. -

The cream cake was the important part Scotty..... but you know what they say, 'you can't have your cake and eat it.' I agree that a bit of argument isn't always a bad thing, and actually the situation you mentioned in your edit does exemplify a kind of forgiveness due to understanding, and that can't be a bad thing. -

What causes sexual desire?
Ninpo-me-this-ninjutsu-me-that replied to Maddie's topic in General Discussion
I guess the simple answer is energy. Bit obvious I know. Since energy is creative and all the energy around is involved with creation(whether we see it or not)it follows that the energy within will seemingly have its own volition to create.....the act of sex being a form of creation(if done right/wrong). Don't forget energy is flying all over the show, other peoples sexual thoughts sends that energy your way and that can also give you a twinge in the perenium, if you become a bit sensitive you can often trace its origin.....they won't appreciate it mind you if you tell 'em "oh, you were having sexual thoughts about me the other day!". More sexual energy(charged)attracts more sexual thoughts.... not necessarily good or bad. What came first, the energy or the hormones is another conundrum. -

Thanks edit. ps. That's quite the list of subjects it deals with, can it really do all of them justice? Or is it somewhat like an overview for the beginner? Looks like a book I'd like to read though. pps. I rather like this one, so much so that I took the trouble to take it half way round the world with me. Although it's a beginner book it really does cover some interesting things. ... oh bum....I cant put a pic in on edit....

Just playing Devils advocate, but how about we take the same cat and experiment on it in order to try and find the cure for cancer? Less cruel? Justified? I have no idea about the answer to that one.
