  1. Yea actually, I've noticed that if you can practice the cool draw, and the 6th tibetan rite (as I've been doing for a month), it'll be easier. Once you do this, then you can just stop focusing on sex so much that it becomes normal, and then, when the sexual urge arises, it's not as draining on the system, or it's just a normal thing. But it doesn't really build up. It's more like, the energy builds up but then you can direct the energy upwards, and the urge will eventually subside. I've noticed ever since practicing these two there is LESS of a blockage in my lower chakras, my focus is not stuck on them. It seems that once you stop having those "contractions" that are related with ejaculatory sex or orgasm then the energy there stops being blocked so much. Each time it contracts, even if it was not ejaculatory it just builds energy up there and becomes stagnant. Then it will drain energy for some time after that, maybe even days or weeks, depending on your level... I find that I can appreciate women more for their character and inner beauty, and not look at them with the intent to pleasure only myself, at their expense. I think I remember dmattwads saying something that women seem to be more attracted to the males with more sexual agitation and that when a man transmutes his energy they stop being so attracted to him. That may be true, if you're like extreme. But if you look at drewhempel, he's been at it for a while and women seem to like him. I've actually noticed that women are more attracted to me after practicing the 6th rite and the cool draw. The only women who are not, are sadly the women who they themselves equate sexual agitation as sexuality. They expect that if a man is not sexually agitated around her that he is either unmanly or is disinterested because she is addicted or something else. The women who become attracted to me then nowadays are more mature, and they can sense maturity in me. BUt it only comes after you've stopped masturbating for a while, and you gain CONTROL of your sexuality at least somewhat. You transcend it. Your urge might still be there from time to time but you dont become a slave to it. Many times women like a man who is in control of their sexuality. Even the women who weren't interested in you before because they expected you to be hypersexual might look at you with some curiosity. Some of them might pick it up from you, ie the practice of conservation. You can use it whenever you wish, in a conscious manner. Your head is more clear and even so, sex itself, seems more pure and innocent. Sexuality seems more and more beautiful, than the raunchiness that you see in porn or animalistic lust that is tied to abusiveness, violence and fear-based competition.
  2. victim mentality

Does anyone know of a good source or article on getting rid of the 'victim' mentality. One that doesn't patronize, and one that doesn't offend or insult. One that doesn't use hollywood memes and concepts, ie brainwashing. I'm looking for the REAL cure to the victim mentality. Not fear based conditioning. So... it's kind of paradoxical. To me at least. Let's say you really Are a victim at least, this body-mind state is going through suffering. Trying to state things objectively. TO overcome this suffering, one needs to accept the suffering. Once you accept the suffering, Aren't you then claiming yourself to be Victim? How is it then that one can overcome suffering then if one does not accept their own suffering, and thus deny it? I understand when the whole "being STUCK" aspect of the victim mentality. It's natural, as FEELINGS that stick with you, even when Mind TRIES to overcome them. TRIES, because then the feelings become linked to other past suffering experiences, and it builds up into a mass, that feels like you are overwhelmed, and then, your neurochemical, biological faculties become Stressed to a point that there's too much cortisol in the brain. Then you try in an attempt to overcome it by associating pleasant feelings of dopamine and seratonin and other neurochemical soups to 'accept' your pain and suffering soo that you overcome it, only to realize that it's part of your energetic body, because you have not let go, in fact you dont know how. It's a Biological thing as much as it is Mental. It is Energetic as much as it is physical. It is 'spiritual/idealogical' and material. Not just mental. Not just physical. Not just energetic. Not just any one of those alone, at all. Then why do so many approaches try to solve this issue by making one fear oneself, by patronizing, with insults, and languages. It is something that cannot be understoood. Somehow it seems that Biologically the human being is somehow SET UP for the victim mentality in it's "Natural" state. Such that it takes only someone who is above the physical material to really overcome this. So why then is htere so much misunderstanding? NOBODY REALLY WANTS TO BE SUFFERING. Don't EVER think anyone ACTUALLY does. Their BODIES might, their SUBCCONSCIOUS might, their BRAINS might be wired in such a way. But REALLY ACTUALLY put them through torturous pain and then LOOK INTO HIS EYES AND FEEL THAT THIS PERSON DOES NOT WANT TO BE SUFFERING. Because IT HURTS and it makes YOU suffer to see this person the same way also. Again it seems paradoxical. Same with changing beliefs. Change your beliefs right? HOW!? By changing my belief that I don't need to know how? How? By not needing to know how? HOW!? What if I go back to the same thing. How? How? Is there is magic button you push in your mental facilities that makes your subconscious beleive something or not? For sure I can see there are no pink elephants in this room right now. hahahahahahahha. ahahha hahhahahhh thank you for participating in my experiment.
  3. Are Qigong Forms BS?

well al the forms are made up. at least the more modern ones.
  4. the role of pure water Like the battery in your car, your cells are responsible for charging you up with energy and vitality. When you feel lifeless, you are suffering from a lack of vital energy, much like a stalled car. Since every body is in essence a rechargeable vehicle, it can be reinvigorated to run smoothly and efficiently; it just takes the right fuel and constant care. The second most important element of life itself, after oxygen, is pure water. Water is the primary conductor of the body's electric current, and our cells require pure water on a regular basis. Water that is full of impurities and biologically incompatible chemicals prevents the constructive interaction of bodily systems and encourages cancer-causing activity. Pure water is an unrestricted highway on which all intercellular activity moves freely. This unrestricted flow allows the meridian system, the body's electrical roadway to stay fully charged at all times, creating a powerful, protective shield that prevents free radicals (reactive atoms that are produced in the body and can damage cells, proteins, and DNA by altering their chemical structure) from destroying healthy cells. The natural metabolic processes of the body--including digestion and elimination--create toxic by-products. Because the production of these by-products is a perfectly normal function, they occur even in those who follow the Hippocrates LifeForce Program. Exercise encourages perspiration and the flow of blood, which cleanse the respiratory and circulatory systems of particulates that stifle systematic electrical functioning. Eliminating poisons from the body allows greater absorption of nutrients and accelerates all healthy body functions. Hormones, the chemical messengers of the body, flourish in a clean bloodstream, because the communication between cells, tissues, and organs requires a constantly clear channel. Many kinds of brain disorders and body malfunctions occur because of a hormonal imbalance often caused by the absence of clear cell-to-cell directives. Thyroid dysfunction, which is increasing worldwide at alarming rates, has a profound impact on our minds and metabolism. In many people, the pituitary gland, at the center of the brain, is apparently dysfunctional. This core of hormonal generation empowers other glands, so when it produces either too few or too many hormones, all other glands and their anatomical connections malfunction and degenerate--sometimes permanently. Electrochemical charge, the foundation of functional life, must be constantly renewed--with the assistance of abundant pure water--otherwise, our health, emotions, thoughts, spirit, rest, functioning, and movement all suffer. Here are three tips for success in keeping the water that enters your body pure: 1. Do not drink tap water provided by local governments. Not only does most of it contain harmful levels of chlorine and fluoride, it is also contaminated with a wide range of synthetic chemical toxins that water purification plants cannot remove. 2. Do not drink most bottled water. Many brands, such as Aquafina and Dasani, the two best-selling brands in the United States, are just municipal tap water that has been crudely filtered. 3. Purchase your own high-quality charcoal water filters and use them for all of that water you consume. - an excerpt form the book Hippocrates LifeForce by Brian Clement. indeed.
  5. pure water. a great qi-boost.

yea, but I think he was just referring to clean water as being pure... Though it you live in the USA you'd need to do reverse osmosis or distillation to get the fluoride out, and filter the heck out of it. Spring water is also good but expensive. Though if you get a cheap distiller, after getting a pretty decent filtration system, you can drink the water if you can use fulvic acid and ionic minerals to remineralize the water. but yea even so.. what of the impurities in it that made it through the filtration system? and even the energy? I guess then it's best to use your own chi to charge it or something.
  6. what are the differences between the two? I read somewhere that dao-yin were simply daoist breathing exercises, but now Im reading that it's also Chinese yoga. Now neigong.. I'm lost, but it seems more of a meditative practice that incorporates breathing. So then what's the difference between all this and qigong?
  7. Maybe it's just conditioning ie that we somehow have been led to believe that "evil" people who do bad always seem to win or be able to succeed, and that good are always martyrs. Maybe it's just conditioning of the society as well that contributes to the actual occurence.
  8. victim mentality

It somehow annoys "me" with this "pain-body" feel when a person judges a person as negative (whilst the person is simultaneously being negative in reacting to his judgment if your "negativity") in an attempt to make him.herself feel "superior" and me "inferior". This person has a "holier than thou" hypocritical attitude. I agree with THELERNER ON THE NEWS FAST THING. Hollywood and societal media, MASS MEDIA, Pop Culture have played a lot in developing music that "fits" negativity, and in making certain that negativity is "common" to relate with. But, I haven't gotten to your replies yet I just wanted to insert that. Tomorrow. Peace.
  9. It's not always true.. but there is an ancient past we have had where it took violence, ie man against man to survive, through competition.
  10. well I read somewhere that unripe fruit (even if it's ripened off the tree) can leech nutrients from the body, and Especially citrus fruit.

  12. Do You Train Martial Arts?

Well I've studied only 24 posture Yang family style tai chi chuan. After that I wanted to start kung fu at the same school after seeing it purportedly had a good lineage in wide range of styles. Ie, Southern Emperor's Long Fist (Song/Tai Jow's/Tai Tzu Chang Chuan) aka Cheung Kune Pai, Northern Shaolin, one hung gar form (tiger crane) , one form of lau gar, a Choy Li Fut. There's also like one or two wushu forms we teach, pai mei form. snake form. It concentrates mostly on the Southern Emperor's Long Fist and Northern Shaolin. Southern Emperor's Long Fist I heard was kinda rare at least in the US. They also teach Hua Shan Pai Do Ga Qi Gong, which I've also practiced.. I know 10 of the gongs. There's 108 in total divided into three levels, jing chi and shen. So yeah I'm hoping for the best on this. I've so far done only a southern long fist form and working on the lau ga form. Southern Long Fist is pretty much taught exclusively for black sashes tough because it is advanced. There's only one form taught below that, and I already learned it. Lau Ga, Northern Shaolin, Choy Li Fut, are all taught below black sash. When I'm done or hopefully sooner I'll get back into the internal sets taught here. 48 international, chen 108, ba gua styles, water boxing, xingyi chuan. awesome stuff.
  13. Well.. I read somewhere that it's important people get to sleep at least two hours before midnight for a good rest. I also read that during the hours of 11 and 12 midnight the body detoxes the most out of any other hr during sleep. And of course according to ChunYi Lin these hours including, the midday hours, are when our functional and control channels are most connected to each other. Well.. I tried getting to sleep 2 hours before midnight, and I awoke exactly at 1am probably due to what I had in my stomach (a sour apple.. apples aren't doing well for me it seems, especially sour). Anyways.. I couldn't go back to sleep after that. I had about 3 hours of sleep and I'm really energized!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm interested in polyphasic sleep right now. According to the Forshang Buddhism website (www.forshang.org) it was said that it's optimal that humans sleep only 5-7 hours a night and no more. The founder of the organization said this and then some time later a studies were done which confirmed his theory. Ie, people who sleep only 5-7 hrs a day live longer than those that sleep longer. Further.. the founder of the buddhist organization says actually it's even better if one sleeps twice a day 2-4 hrs a day, it's better for the metabolism and it makes one more adaptable to change. So hm.. now I'm interested. I think if one becomes a polyphasic sleeper one would start to need less sleep.
  14. Only reason why I wolnd't do that is because I don't want to be feeling depleted the entire day afterwards. If you do it before sleeping at least you can rest some.
  15. whoops, yea sorry about that. I dont really know I was just looking for a source on the Chinese circadian rhythm cycles.
  16. from: Chinese Medicine Circadian Rhythms http://www.thriveacupuncture.org/1/post/2010/01/chinese-medicine-circadian-rhythyms.html The Hai Period: Preparing to Rest - The SanJiao, or triple burner, is most active during the hours of 9pm to 11pm. At this time, our day should slowly begin to draw to a close. Computers, TV’s and cell phones should slowly be retired for the day to allow the mind time to settle into a restive state. It is an ideal time for pleasure reading, enjoying some light music, quiet meditation, or sharing intimate time together with a partner. The Zi Period: Maintaining Yang Qi through Sleep - 11pm to 1am is the period when Yin energy is at its height. Yin energy directly correlates to the physiological process of sleep. Therefore, we should be soundly asleep during this period. Just getting into bed during these hours, reading, watching television, or struggling to fall asleep is not an efficient use of this time. The Gallbladder meridian is most active during the Zi period. According to the law of transformation of Yin and Yang (extreme Yin produces Yang; extreme Yang produces Yin), the gallbladder is responsible for giving birth to the first Yang energy of the 24 hour cycle. This Yang energy in its infantile state is highly vulnerable. Therefore, we must protect and allow it to grow through proper sleep. and... The Wu Period: A Quick Nap to Fortify Yang Qi - The Heart channel is most active during this period from 11am to 1pm. During this time, we should follow lunch with a brief period of rest. According to the principles of transformation of Yin and Yang, Yang energy has reached its apex. The NeiJing tells us that Yin is associated with the interior and sleep, while Yang governs the exterior and waking hours. Therefore, by following the midday meal with a brief period of rest, we can further this transition of Yang to Yin. This is especially important for Yang deficient people to fortify their Yang energy with a longer period of sleep. For the rest of us, a half hour of rest should be sufficient to protect the Heart energy and Yang qi.
  17. good article here: Sleep (or how to hack your brain) http://dustincurtis.com/sleep.html So Einstein or some other big scientist did this. I can't do most of the above programs because of my work schedule, so I just do what I can. It takes about a month for the brain to adjust, and then you'll be able to acheive REM sleep in a very short period of time, so you can start taking short naps and still get quality sleep. Eventually you'll be so tired (this is part of the hacking period) that you'll be able to achieve REM sleep instantly upon lying down for the period of time you want to rest. My friend told me the Chinese think it's better to sleep a 20 minute nap instead of a long time, it's about having as many sleep cycles as you can than of how long you sleep. When normal people sleep the non-REM cycles are not even necessary, its the REM cycles you get most benefit from. Normal people just use the non-REM cycles to transition to the REM cycle. Maybe if I just do 2-4 hrs twice a day for a month I'll have a hacked brain so then I can start experimenting progressively with other programs. So yes it does take adjustment if you are on the normal sleep schedule. For about a month you'll be pretty tired but surely you'll start to be able take naps instead of sleeping long periods of time. For me I found that when I take short naps in this way.. I wake up with more energy, just as a person does when he/she takes a nap and naturally awakes about half an hr or so feeling better. It's better for metabolism I'd say.. and you're more adaptable to change.
  18. I think chakras have an inner and outer part.
  19. This is regarding specifically rites number 3 and 4. Could the correct breathing sequence for 3 and 4 be breathe out as you tilt the head back and breathe in as you tuck in the chin? I thought about this today... It makes some sense as in rites number 2 and 5 it's like that, and I remember in the original books about the five Tibetan rites it never mentioned breathing patterns, so what followed from there about the breathing are just numerous interpretations by different authors as to how to breathe. Now I know that it would also make sense to breathe in with the beginning motion, and breathe out with the end motion, but I'm specifically talking with regards to the head motion. Tilting the head backward prevents the chi from going into the head (my sifu says this) and tucking the chin helps make the chi flow down from the head through the tongue touching the upper palate.
  20. I finally got to reading the book Yantra Yoga.. not the whole thing of course, just started. There's no mention of the rites at all. My guess is that either it's a mix of kum nye which came before yantra and yantra yoga... or it's from another tradition of yantra yoga that's not written in the book, as the book has only the Union of the Sun and Moon yoga. Nevertheless there are some moves that are similar to the rites, except for the first one. I'm guessing I'm supposed to use the principles learned herein. I also bought "Your Hands Can Heal You" by Stephen Co for some tips on the rites included, so I'm waiting for that one to come in. perhaps the rites were just made up, after the author of the original book went to Tibet and learned yantra yoga, and made his own very simplified version of yantra or something that mixes some of the basic movements in yantra yoga. And, after reading parts of yantra yoga... it seems that the rites performed in the regular traditional breathing method are what is taught in the book (at least with the exercises similar to them)... even though reversing the breath gives me more of an effect.
  21. Well yesterday I had an experience. I did 21 of the five. Though I did the third rite twice, once with 'normal' breathing, the other one with reversed breathing (not daoist reverse breathing), and I have to say, the reversed breathing made me feel this really calm blissful feeling of energy, go up to head. it cleared my head and made me feel calm yet energized. Then I tried doing the same for the fourth but.. well.. it seems my body tells me when to stop doing more than I'm supposed to on 21. If you do more in one shot then I think you can mess up the energetic system. I guess my body knows this naturally. So in that case, I figured.. maybe what's important is postures rather than breathing during specific movements. I mean I'm sure there's an optimal way. I always do this one with reversed breathing (again not same as daoist reverse breathing) because it feels better to me.
  22. wheat grass juice. a great qi boost

I LOVE jiaogulan. too bad the chinese store around here stopped selling it!!!!! I wonder why. So many things on there used to be sold that were good quality, now they all have sulfites and additives, or low low quality. anyways. I like barley grass too. I dont have a juicer but one day I will get one and start sprouting my own. For now I take barley grass powder and wheat grass powder. But I think Im going to stick with barley grass since it has twice the nutrients, and more. It also has b12. Check this out... powders are supposedly better than tray grown grass: http://www.amorganics.com/dehydrated-wheatgrass-vs-wheatgrass-juice-a/141.htm
