  1. No gods, then no humans

Ok, interesting. May I ask how this came to pass initially? Who contacted you? What did they say? ect...
  2. No gods, then no humans

This is an interesting theory. What do you base it upon?
  3. No gods, then no humans

That could certainly be the case, but from the POV of the Buddha's teachings on impermanence this would seem to not be the case (assuming the Buddha was correct about everything)
  4. What's your energy level like? High? Low? What is your skin like? dry? moist? What is your stress level? low? high?
  5. A quick tongue and pulse diagnosis should be able to easily determine the cause
  6. No gods, then no humans

Why couldn't there be humans without gods? I'm not saying this is the case, I'm just asking why couldn't there be? Interestingly the Buddha said that when a universe ends and there are no more physical planes of existence most beings are reborn in one of the higher Brahma realms until the next universe comes into existence beings gradually due to the exhaustion of their karma drop down to the lower realms as they are formed.
  7. What's wrong with mantra meditation?

I have had similar experiences where for a while one mantra in particular seems to be doing magic for me and then after a while it stops. I have actually contemplated this quite a bit and after some experimentation, trial and error and pondering I have a proto-type theory. Each mantra has slightly different effects energetically. Each person has their own unique energy pattern as well. That being the case its pretty much impossible to predict how any one individual is going to react to any one mantra, regardless of how the mantra is advertised. What I think I have observed is that if one begins to do a particular mantra at first it is going to react to the individuals energy pattern in a unique way. Maybe it begins to dissolve blockages, raise vibrations, move energy where it was not moving, react with karma ect.. After a while once the mantra has had time to interact with the individual's energy and karma and previous blockages are no longer there or at least greatly reduced for example this initial interaction that was experienced when the blockage was there is no longer going to occur as there is no longer the blockage there for it to interact with. At this point it can be beneficial to find a new mantra that will work on a different aspect of our energy, or to stick with the old one until enough repetitions are done that it can go to a new level of interaction with deeper blockages.
  8. From a TCM POV there is no one remedy for everything. It would depend on why you are having constipation. It could be heat, deficiency of body fluids, blood, qi, dryness. In order to determine what is the cause you would need to see a TCM practitioner.
  9. Mantras

That's very interesting. It's too bad most of the wisdom from ancient Egypt was lost.
  10. Mantras

Today I have been doing a lot of experimenting with mantras. Doing a little bit of a few and seeing how they resonate with me. I can say hands down out of the ones I tried I like the Vajrapani mantra the most. It helped me to feel much better with a few of the things that are going on in my life at the moment. Also found Manjushri helpful for confusion! ** part of me wonders if Vajrapani is so effective for me could that indicate there are negative forces at work against me?
  11. Green Tara Mantra - The Joy Mantra

I think Tara is also supposed to help remove obstacles. Find it very comforting.
  12. Chundi mantra

After recently doing a lot of this one I can say it still makes me miserable.
  13. desire in Taoism

Ah yes, so it sounds like you are experiencing the dukkah of desire.
  14. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo

Does anyone have experience with non-SGI Nichiren? and if so what do you think?
  15. desire in Taoism

    Explain?
  16. desire in Taoism

I think life is either not at all fair and random .... OR.... Too fair if you factor in past lives and karma.
  17. desire in Taoism

Ultimately from what I understand the Buddha said that in the mind there is ignorance and this gives rise to desire, and this desire due to conditioning seeks an object to latch onto. The object is really irrelevant, its the desire in and of itself that seeks and searches. When we loose interest in one thing we don't just sit there and stare at the ground and drool, we replace the old interest with a new one. It's always just desire, the particular thing desired doesn't really have that much intrinsic meaning.
  18. desire in Taoism

I'd say the desire that interferes with our life the most is the desire that affects us most.
  19. Mahayana vs Theravada

That's generally how I view him
  20. Mahayana vs Theravada

Fair enough since Buddha took it from the proto-Hindu's tool box.
  21. Mahayana vs Theravada

So I took a look at several of his videos and here are my thoughts.... He seems very intelligent and very gifted with languages for sure. On the other hand he seems to repeat himself a lot and come to conclusions that seem out of context with the rest of the passage around them based on his interpretation of a word. He seems to come of with the impression that he is the only one that realizes that the Buddha never said there wasn't a soul. I think many Buddhists realize that the five skandhas are referring to what the Buddha said the self is not as opposed to the common misconception of him saying what the self is. He also seems to think the "middle way" refers to the Milkyway in the night sky by using a very literal translation of the word, but the context that the Buddhas uses when describing the middle way makes it clear he is speaking about not going to extremes of asceticism on one hand or hedonism on the other. The last point he tries to make is that the Buddha didn't teach breath meditation, again based on a very literal translation of a word. He comes across as arrogant and seems to think only he understand the Nikayas or at least better than anyone else in the world as he stated himself several times. Still he was interesting to listen to.
  22. What are emotions

    And some vegetables become meat
  23. I use the fewest words to explain the things I understand best.
  24. Jesus Christ

In John 10:30 Jesus said "I and the Father are one" then everyone wanted to kill him and he said why and they said because you made yourself equal to God and then he said and then he said in verse 34 "...Is it not written you your law 'I said, you are gods'?" Basically Jesus says "I am God" and the people freak out to the point of wanting to kill him for blasphemy and then he basically says "but so are you. (and you just don't realize it yet)"
  25. What are emotions

But I think it's brilliant also because lately as I've been mindful of what emotions are as I experience them I have noticed a lot of what I call emotions are nothing more than tension in various parts of my body. So basically some meat is less tender than other parts of meat and then meaning gets added to it.
