  1. Clinging and aversion happens to be a hard habit to dislodge. Thats why there is the Vinayas explaining moral precepts and ethical conduct. Unfortunately, many so-called dzogchenpas assume they can operate outside of moral codes and ethical considerations. Such individuals shoot at anything which does not fit into their circle of so-called 'respectable' (or divinely deluded) Dzogchen badgeholders. These individuals fail to grasp even the most basic understanding and practice of the Brahmaviharas. Without this adherence to the basic tenets, what is said by these individuals is as good as blowing soap bubbles in the wind.
  2. How to find a Vajrayana teacher

'Crazy' yogis with no specific lineages get acknowledged by high lamas as 'secret' adepts. Haven't you heard of this before? They often go to these individuals for teachings, blessings and empowerments. What you said is right, but there are exceptions.
  3. Im not endorsing Jax. He may or may not be authentic, who knows for sure. So many claim to be 'authentic lineage holders' only to end up scandalizing themselves and their lineage. I only spoke up (to Anderson) as a reminder to myself to be more aware of my own conduct and habits.
  4. i would not say bad-repping someone is exactly a 'reputable' practice, would you?
  5. I hope he does not claim to be a buddhist practitioner. Embarrassing.
  6. i meant anderson and his mocking words.

  10. Browse around the 'sacred texts' website for methods, although not sure if you will be able to practice it safely because its quite esoteric, and ideally suited for those who actually follow the Buddhist tantric path devotedly. There is also a taoist version in there somewhere. Quite an elaborate site so tread with care, and happy hunting, cos there are lots to sieve thru before you find the precise method for developing inner light and heat. If its meant for you to get it, you will find it. This is the best i can do. Against my principle to provide exact link sorry.
  11. Should I kill the mice?

The mouse/rat/mice/rats could have been your mother in a previous life. Time to put your 'desisting' mode into practice. You're supposedly smart... figure out something. Or perform Phowa if your killing mood takes over, and you're hungry at that. If you dont know Phowa, go on mice-free diet. orrrr... Eat lettuce instead.

  14. Superimposition of views on reality

until there is perfect and complete enlightenment, its really not helpful discussing omniscience in the most elaborate sense. Relatively speaking, knowing one taste/attaining equanimity is the fundamental method and realization leading to the first stages of omniscience. Ask any Rinpoche.
  15. Superimposition of views on reality

remember the phrase you used, "the whole banquet is in the first bite"? thats basically the essence of how the term 'omniscience' is applied in buddhist wisdom. Take a hint from the words of the Muni himself (paraphrased) ~ "If you want to know the nature of the oceans, you dont have to drink from all the seas. Just a sip from one, and you will directly know the nature of all the rest." In modern times, it could be useful to view omniscience as a time-saving goal, in that one need not dwell on the nature of the 10,000 things individually, which can only lead to much confusion; simply look into the mind's real nature. Gain confidence in that, and all else becomes clear. Thats basically all there is. Even though its so simple, there will be many who will not acknowledge, practice (looking, with awareness) and reach emancipation from this understanding.

  17. Innate Purity of Phenomena

on the contrary, friend... its very useful... big small eyes to the other post... haha
  18. Innate Purity of Phenomena

sometimes words are so limited. Such points are for penetrating one's own realization, to make it even clearer. Discussions can sometimes resemble the stirring of sediments which have already settled to the bottom of the lake.
  19. What Happened To Gerard ?

People's karmic propensity with this forum will dissipate over time, like clouds vanishing into space ~ yet when clouds form, the space gains nothing, and when gone, space does not lose anything. Be spacious and generous, open and yielding, then there is no need to leave one place to seek another. Ultimately, its where the mind is, and the realization of its nature that counts most. Stillness means more than just being unmoving or steadfast, or empty mind free of all thoughts... it means being natural to what arises and ceases without grasping/aversion.... when the habit of responding with complete openness like the sky-space is formed, stillness penetrates easefully. One does not need to withdraw physically in order to access this mode of being. Given due consideration, it can be said that the cultivation of spirit can be swiftly engaged when there are more perceived hindrances. If the environment is completely stress-free, there could also be complications... laziness, stupor, apathy, arrogance, irritability when space is encroached upon, impatience at the seeming curiosity of occasional visitors... these are some of the possible reactions when conditions become temporarily very ideal in one's life.
