im on the threshold of being free of all wanting and not wanting. somehow, i wanted so much to say this. now my ego finds rest, if only for a few seconds. there, im off again, thinking of some other non-supernatural feat i have achieved so as to keep up with other non-supernatural achievers. God bless all non-achievers.

If people were not so hung up on what they perceive to be lacking in Western culture, there would be no need for tertiary practices, let alone those which are felt to bring about mind/energy transformation. Maybe saying its needless sounds extreme... at least, the needs would not be deemed that immediate, following which, by relaxing one's gaze or view actually improves one's openness to see more.

Dharma can be taught in many ways, not just according to our limited understanding of how it ought to be taught. It can be a good exercise to view matters in a wider perspective. This way, we can learn to let go of our brittle, fixated views with the intention of regenerating our intrinsically pure nature thru cultivating a tolerance for both the sacred and the mundane.

Looking for insight on opening a small retreat in Appalachian Mountains
C T replied to ą„Dominicusą„'s topic in General Discussion
What a noble ambition. Wishing you every success, Dominicus! It will all pan out in its own way, dont worry. The process itself is pretty dynamic, as you would be well aware of by now, so be prepared that a lot of stuff will not go to plan. Things will unfold in their own time -- there are so many levels and dimensions to these sorts of undertaking, more so when your idea appears to be launching a centre where eclecticism is the preferred statement. One would imagine buckets-full of commitment, courage, perseverance, foresight, flexibility, resourcefulness, resilience, and financial availability to be some of the key qualities that will lend success to your project. The main thing i have observed, having lived and worked in a well-organized retreat centre back in the 90s, is that clashes of personalities have always been an issue, but if there was a genuine common desire among the key people to keep nurturing the place patiently, as one would attend to a bonsai tree for example, then i cannot see why your goal will not be reached. If a man can have the vision and drive to transform a barren mountain (history below) into one of the top tourist attraction in SE Asia, so can you with this more virtuous aspiration. http://www.genting.com/history/index.htm -

Speaking of misssing posts.... Is there a new policy in place where complete topics/posts get erased, or, if not erased, removed to an inaccessible place? I noticed i could not find the OP started by Drew regarding CYL's impending Australian visit, and also another seemed to have disappeared, that 'Offensive and Rude' one. Drew's post in question seem to have vanished completely, while the 'O and R' shows up when searched, but then i get poked by the words 'Sorry you dont have permission for that'. This is all very intriguing. As far as i can recall, no OPs and threads can be fully edited out or deleted by mods. It used to be that if a topic gets too wild and out of line, it gets locked and chucked into the pit, but still accessible anyhow. Whats the story now?? An explanation is in order i believe. edit to add: While it may be the mods' prerogative to do as they deem fit with certain sensitive postings, there is, i believe, a small expectation to at least offer brief reasons why particular actions were taken in relation to their editing exercises.

Clicking and tapping sounds during meditation..
C T replied to ChiForce's topic in General Discussion
Maybe the question was not clear enough. I am not saying that you are imagining the noises and sounds. Did you try to take a break from your night meditation routine, and then restarting it after maybe a week or so? If not, would you consider giving that a go and then see what takes place upon resuming the night meditations? Or, is this a ritual for you, that you cannot forego the habit of meditating at night? If you can't even put it down for a few days, if i were you, i would question why this is so. What i am trying to rule out is perhaps some external disturbance(s) may be enticing you into some unhealthy patterns. Have you given this any thought? Maybe you have tried it before, if so, it was not clearly stated in your post, hence i am asking. -
Chunyi Lin will personally collect $1.5 million from Stiggy in Australia

So now its Gold Standard? Ok... Like Rolex watches are premium quality, that kind of way? I understand. Come to think of it, it is rather hilarious. -

880 bucks? No thanks. Charging fees like that, and taking into account all the years CYL's been in business, surely the 1.5mil would seem like loose change. Why would he want to subject his reputation to such scrutiny? Come on, Drew.
