  1. The perfect weapon

China has today worriedly reported sporadic cases of reinfection among those given the all clear. The reason a large swathe of the US has yet to fully fathom this epidemic is largely a result of Thump's own inability to understand what's going on other than to devise obscene plans to capitalise on this catastrophe to help him stay in office. This is why in my view he's a sub-human. Probably a tired phrase by now, but truth is he dont care for nothing but his own ass. Today he said he will not spend $1 billion on new ventilators, but didn't hesitate to pump a trillion to prop up the stock market. Only a very sick mind is capable of such a despicable thing.
  2. Women and Buddhahood

Why do always come across as majorly angry & bitter? Do you cultivate this on purpose during meditation just to ensure that the wall you've built around you remains fortified? Your comments and opinions seems to align with this sort of practice. Its quite bizarre. And you're not alone - There are a few here on TDB who fits this personality profile too. All with different ways of expressing their ignorance. Name 5 things you think the world owes you, and maybe we can begin to empathise with your unbending insistence to spew your toxic diatribes here.
  3. ~ Dogen ~ “From beginningless past, many foolish people identified consciousness and spirituality as Buddha-Nature. How laughable it is that these were called the enlightened people! If I were to explain the Buddha-Nature without getting too involved, I would say it was fences, walls, roof tiles and pebbles”.
  4. I for one do not believe in the literal meaning of è”°ç«ć…„é” ... so no, your assumption is unfounded. As for your sincerity (what you deem as conscientiousness), im afraid it does not appear to be genuine. Why? because a truly conscientious attitude do not create situations where conflict can settle and take root. In your case, almost every post you make is an invitation for conflict to fester. So it shows that your heart, the mind, and your words are out of tune, hence the absence of harmony.
  5. You need to do the work yourself. Isn't that the basis of the path of cultivation? What you're doing here, in the main, is a deviation from that path. Your focus and energy could be better directed, perhaps, to examining your conduct, your words, your mind's poise, rather than indulging in controversial chatter which only serves to compound leakages more severe than semen could ever cause.
  6. If you have little awareness of your own expressions here relative to the amount of feedback given as a sounding board, then all the more reason for you to tread with caution. Its a tell-tale sign, this sort of imperviousness. Unless of course you're already passed the point of no return, then just carry on with such patterns. If not, then there's still a chance for you to rectify your course. A sincere seeker comes in all forms, I know, but all share some common traits, like humility, sincerity, maturity of views, maturity of expression of such views, amicability, disciplined speech, reasonableness, politeness, general online demeanour. Probably some other qualities that others may want to chime in. Im aware these are norms, and sometimes leeways are needed, but the softening of these guide rails in no way imply going off on tangents and wild speculations that do nothing but invite mirth and act to create negative karmic imprints to both yourself and those who engage with your inherently haphazard views.
  7. On the surface, and from the eyes of a seasoned cultivator, I'm of the opinion that if such patterns of thought were to persist, you @Heartbreakcould be stepping into a trap of your own design. In Daoist parlance, it's called "leaking fire, allowing the demons to enter." I worry for you. Sincerely. I live in South East Asia, near enough to Thailand, and have seen such things up close. You have a choice.. Change your mindset now or risk serious damage to your ethereal energy body. Please, for your own sake, consider your actions and thought patterns carefully going forward.

I apologise that you had to repeat the premise of your OP again. It wasn't my intention to elicit a response from you. The comment above was in response to the latterly input by Ion. Some good points for contemplation from you both, so thank you. The old misogynistic landscape that prevailed is no longer as pronounced. Both the Karma Kagyu and the Drukpa Kagyu lineages, and lesser pronounced but nonetheless pursued in other lineages as well, there are ongoing programs pursuing avenues to ensure that outdated attitudes (wrt to this perceived misogyny) be subverted to give way to a more balanced and proper distribution and recognition of gender equality in Tibetan Buddhism. Snipped from an article entitled, "Is South Asia’s Buddhist Leader the Gyalwang Drukpa an Ecofeminist? Dialectical, Grounded Analysis of Eminent Feminist Theology Illuminates the Foundations for a Vajrayana Buddhist Ecofeminism" -- And a first in the Drikung Kagyu lineage: In 2002 Khenmo Drolma, an American woman, became the first bhikkhuni (a fully ordained Buddhist nun) in the Drikung Kagyu lineage. She is also the first westerner, male or female, to be installed as an abbot in the Drikung Kagyu lineage, having been installed as the abbot of the Vajra Dakini Nunnery (America's first Tibetan Buddhist nunnery, located in Vermont) in 2004. These are all extremely encouraging signs of shifting attitudes from one of ignorance to one that places import on empowering women in Buddhism. I'm aware the past record had been somewhat unsavoury and painted a dim picture, but thats all being slowly set right by a new wave of spiritual leaders.
  9. I'm just messing with you. No unkind intentions.
  10. Probably just got rejected by another swf whom he's been chasing the last few days. That explains the lull. Guess we need to hope he finds one soon and leave us in peace for a good while. With a handle like that it's easy to see patterns.
  11. The perfect weapon

That could have been anything. What makes you so sure it's genuine?
  12. Women and Buddhahood

In Tibet, the iconic feminine symbols revered as yidams, khandros, bodhisattvas and even buddhas - all of whom clearly personifications of wisdom and meditative consciousness, the other half of a wholistic spiritual path has always been highly touted. There's no shortage of female buddhas in Tibet. They are both expressed as symbols, and personified as embodying the highest wisdom and meditative consciousness. In union with their male counterparts expressed as method or means, it symbolises completion/fruition. This pantheon of female buddhas pervade the whole of Tibetan Buddhism as well as Bön. Some of the more well-known female buddhas and bodhisattvas include Avalokiteshvara, Tara, Machig Labdron, Niguma, Sakyadevi, Yeshe Tsogyal, Mandarava and a list of others, with some manifesting as yidams and others as khandros (dakinis), though none restricted to any particular manifestation.

& please just make do with that since it doesn't really matter if nothing will wake people up. Its meant to be a 'thumbs up' emoticon.
  14. Dharma in the time of COVID

Please carry on. Its better you concentrate on what is at hand. For me, meditation begins upon leaving the cushion, but to each his own. Enough of small talk that does not lend perspective to the OP.
  15. Dharma in the time of COVID

You sound drunk cos a few hours ago your posts were more cohesive.
  16. Dharma in the time of COVID

Had been reflecting in a similar vein, where this 'unreal' world very much a projection from an 'unreal' self. This in itself does not pose much hindrance, not only that, but often we tend to welcome it because most people (me included) are quite happy & comfy with such an arrangement most of the time. The burden as aspects of samsara only gradually appear to solidify as neurosis and physical manifestations thereof as old age and related issues begin to seep in. Thus, I can imagine, how impactful the onset of this uncertain time must be to the aged and the infirm. Late thought. Perhaps it was a mistake to think the pressure's greater on the aged+. Some of them could well have resigned themselves to the inevitable, and therefore have a cushion to soften the impact. They are not the ones frantically searching for answers on the internet and spreading panic. Most of the time, its us, in our impatience and indignation. Very many fishing enthusiasts in the UK are livid they've been asked by the Anglers' Trust to cease the activity for the time being. They cannot understand the logic of being told to sacrifice their beloved hobby, and create huge online debates over it seeking to justify their frustration, and some, even anger. Of the hundreds and hundreds of objections scanned in just one post, it boiled down to this: A self that wants and needs gratification.
  17. Dharma in the time of COVID

But in this instance, where is the pressure to be found?
  18. A Yogic Cure/Vaccine For COVID-19

I apologise if my remarks bordered on rudeness. I'm not trying to be. Its just that the 'cure' claim sounds quite frivolously presented.
  19. Dharma in the time of COVID

Yes, I agree. Some sort of universal karma snowballing from the past. The Tibetan Tulpa concept (an energetic intent made into an entity) is something I know to be real, and can often extend from the individual to the collective. Across many Asian societies, the creation of tulpas are quite common - mostly for sinister intentions. Can't recall the timeline, but sometime in the past I had replied to one topic with maybe a similar premise and cited, as an example, the theme behind The Ghostbusters movie as being quite relevant, but I suppose those who read the comment didn't pay much attention to it, which is of course not the least surprising. If we were to briefly make a correlation between that theme and this current event, it will fit loosely into this: "our collective minds are correcting for an imbalance based on our ignorant grasping." (Apech). The only point im yet to be fully convinced of is the part about this being a correction. I'm still asking myself questions.
  20. A Yogic Cure/Vaccine For COVID-19

if its any consolation, I doubt Albert Geng will show up here anytime soon.
  21. A Yogic Cure/Vaccine For COVID-19

Gullibility's everywhere. Times like these it peaks and begins to absorb the energies of the weak of mind and the ignorant, creating endless feedback loops, sucking in greater and greater negativities and rebirthing these at the same time. The fastfood industry basically experiences the exact same dynamic with a different commodity. The only difference is, in this industry, the peaks are intentionally created to keep the masses thrilled enough to suppress their insecurities and other lacks, if only for the brief respite a burger or piece of fried chicken offers.
  22. A Yogic Cure/Vaccine For COVID-19

Being blasé on TDB has its merit sometimes. Not that there's anything wrong with the practice.

  24. They're pushing & pushing for one simple reason: Greed. They finally found their get-out-of-jail-with-billions card. Rising Pharmaceuticals is the 'culprit' supplier to the US. These guys doubled the price of the drug late Dec 2019 from $3.87 to $7.66 per tab. Now that demand is almost assured, they've reined it back to $3.87 I guess they've already made their killing at $7.66. Who knows what reserves of Chloroquine are being held in the US now, and when was the purchase made? That'd be an interesting bit of scoop. No harm keeping an eye on their stock performance either.
