  1. I guess a wee measure of honesty in your admission is better than none at all.
  2. No, he's just going round finding doors to jam his foot into and start spouting what he thinks others must buy instead.
  3. Your bitterness as a human is palpable. Is your comment meant to be a sympathy sponge? "Feminism for retards"? "Elephant dung"? Which of her works screams that into your little head? You poor little thing.
  4. A dinosaur's head appearing out of the ice in the bottom painting!
  5. It must be so rewarding! Happy for you, my friend. I've been engrossed with the work of artist Zaria Forman lately. Her art revolves around climate change.

Any help can only be good. But commendation is not important. The purity of the Dharma needs no commendation. Apply if useful; discard if not. Its quite pragmatic like that. And simple.
  7. Not specifically. That wasn't a useful benchmark because of the nature of total anonymity on which it fed, and was fed in return. Lots of stuff said there that people would've had to think twice or more in person. ā€œWe are very defensive, and therefore aggressive, when we hold on to a particular belief, a dogma, or when we worship our particular nationality, with the rag that is called the flag.ā€ ~ J. Krishnamurti
  8. Indeed some of the nastiness went quite over the top. A bit much imo, not that mo counts for much. Lots of avoidable misfortunes occur in the name of justified aggro. And believers of justified aggro are almost always violent. On numerous levels.
  9. @silent thunder Is that your work?
  10. The perfect weapon

Lol just yesterday Covid 20 popped into my head out of nowhere
  11. If you, with all your years of cultivation and projected mastery, are unable to tame that Fire Horse energy, why do you place such massive expectations on those you bombarded as terribly ignorant and lacking?
  12. Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear

While these sort of talks are good, I prefer to stay loyal to the source from where they borrowed their thoughts. The Four Sublime States is a wonderful reflection for anyone interested. And all four of the essences were warmly and eloquently felt at the heart of this thread. Thank you all! An extract from a teaching on The Four Sublime States:
  13. Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear

A lady in China, maybe 102, recently made a full recovery. Had thought of responding to bax44, but you guys rocked with your replies. Im touched. _/\_
  14. He'll be letting us off lightly if it was only that.
  15. sigh He was hyping on about a Chloroquine + Azithromycin cocktail. If you took the trouble to read my posts above, you'd have understood the cynicism behind why I said he'd rather lobby a potentially deadly drug with deadlier side effects than to reach out to China for a potential cure thats got more clinical hours (300 tests) as opposed to the flimsy 26 tests associated with Chloroquine. So he's basically this unchanging moron of an egomaniac who'd plug an unproven drug calling it tremendous despite the obvious ridiculous implications. Next time please... if you'd like to comment on my posts, do scan the thread to gather some direction and feel first. Thanks. But from the patterns I've observed from your postings, it appears that you're more interested in what you yourself want to express, and only offer a cursory reply to someone as a means to push your own ideas, most of which arent even that related to the OP. I could be wrong of course. Just an observation in case you'd like some feedback on your posting style.
  16. You have no idea what I'm posting on this thread.
  17. Testimony from one Jordan Campbell who suffers from Quinism (the side effects of drugs classified under Quinolines) Throughout the 1990ā€™s and beyond, I suffered unexplainable, crushing fatigue, bizarre neurological and cognitive issues and an altogether mysterious malaiseā€”a devastating illness that I wouldnā€™t hex on my worst enemy. I didnā€™t climb for years and at one point, I could barely walk around the block. Moreover, I quietly concealed profound depression, reckless and unexplainable suicidal explorations to simply end what I can only describe as an unthinkable physical, mental and emotional nightmare. Through the grand mystery of ā€˜what happened in Indiaā€™ and the years of recovery after, I continued to chase the dream of climbing mountains around the world. Unaware that I had a brain injury, I took several more expeditions to extreme high altitude (in Nepal, Tibet, Peru) where in some perverse way I felt like the apocalypse of what I had experienced somehow all made sense. In 2008, more than 16 + years after the expedition, I randomly stumbled on an NPR story about the U.S. soldier murder-suicides at Fort Braggā€”all pointing to an anti-malarial drug named Lariam [Mefloquine] as a likely the causeā€”along with the drugā€™s list of dark side effects that described my life in the 1990ā€™s to the letter. Like the thousands of soldiers serving in our post 9-11 wars, diplomats, Peace Corps volunteers and civilians traveling the world to malarial areas, one common theme surfaced: we were poisoned. As a writer and freelance journalist, I reported on the story for Climbing and Outside magazines and even secured a 3500-word exposĆ© for a well-known New York publication about the dangerous administration of the Mefloquine to our soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. I interviewed numerous veterans, victims, the pharmaceutical companies, doctors and clinicians and the FDAā€”I even interviewed officials at the U.S. Department of Defense. In 2012, the magazine killed my exposĆ©ā€”no surprise with a war weary public and a controversial ā€˜Jacobā€™s Ladderā€™ storyā€”but after years of whistleblowing on Mefloquine, I just had to push a way from the table. I have now lived with this disease for 28 years (this April). Once called Mefloquine Neurotoxicity Syndrome, itā€™s now being officially and clinically accepted by the veteran, PTSD and military communities as an official disease called ā€œQuinism.ā€ There are countless stories about the neurotoxic dangers of Mefloquine and Quinolines found through Google searches; there is now even an advocacy non-profit organization, fortified by science and research, called The Quinism Foundation. With somewhat advancing age, I struggle daily with the neurological issues from being poisoned clear back in 1992. These issues include speech and swallowing problems, body shocks, foot dragging, extreme fatigue, respiratory problems and alarming blood oxygen saturation issues. I also deal with classic brain injury problems: headaches, cognition, confusion and memory loss. This has, no surprise, affected all areas of my life personally, professionally and of course my ability to pursue climbing and mountaineering, a timeless place I look to for balance, clarity and spiritual growth. Today Iā€™m sharing with you, with unimaginable humility and gratitude (yes, every day is a giftā€¦) my very personal and dark climberā€™s tale as a public service announcement with one main message: Quinolines, a specific class of anti-malarial drugsā€”are extremely dangerous. They affect a high percentage of people who take themā€”from Chloroquine, Mefloquine to a new generation called Tafenoquine. Quinolines have been administered to soldiers across the decades in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistanā€”the side effects of poisoned soldiers mimicking PTSDā€”and an estimated 35million + people worldwide have taken Mefloquine. My opinion after 12+ years of investigation and research: using Quinoline drugs in any way is like playing Russian Roulette with your health: it doesnā€™t matter if youā€™re an elite Navy SEAL, Army Ranger or world-class athlete, a grandmother or a nine-year-old: your body is not above the drug when it goes neurotoxic in your bloodstream. My decision to broadcast my story on social media today is my attempt to ā€˜jump in front of the bulldozerā€™ and to sound the alarm for those who may be asked or recommended to take Chloroquine for COVID-19. I recognize the administrationsā€™ intention may be honorable to help the greater public good at this time, but if youā€™ve come this far reading Iā€™ll only close by asking that you do your best to become educated about the side effects of Chloroquine, Mefloquineā€”and the entire family of Quinoline'sā€”and know that Quinism is an irreversible disease that has silently affected millions of people around the world.
  18. Something will be available in the next 4 - 6 weeks, in my estimate. Could be sooner. Fingers crossed.

  20. Get over yourself, Gerard. Your condescending tone negates all the possible merit in your attempt to correct *us humans*.
  21. 22 March '20 26 tests. Avigan already tested on 300 patients with 100% positive response. Recovery rate down to 4 days. You wont see Trump sharing in this promising news though. God forbid, no.
  22. China have been conducting successful trials with the Japanese drug Avigan long before any other country even realised how dire the actual situation was. Main ingredient of Avigan is favipiravir. Avigan was approved by the Japanese health ministry as a flu treatment back in 2014. Now big pharmas all over are racing to garner public confidence in their stocks by announcing "Breaking News - New Drug blah blah" almost on a daily basis.
  23. They may well be merit in the above theory although it did leave out a few other considerations. One point that needs further contemplation is that about people who work on fields are somehow less prone to illness. I'd imagine a fair amount of farmers and farm workers do get ill like all regular people. Citing one example of your father is just not compelling evidence to support the case. Statistics lean towards the general view that spending more time outdoors (unsure if this needs to include getting down & dirty with muck) certainly boosts the immune system. Is this enough to equip the body with the ability to ward off the onslaught of previously unknown strains of viruses? If so, how many rounds of resist-response can the body maintain before the defences begin to weaken by factors outside one's control, like degenerative wear & tear from ageing? Can't be immediately sure. Quite a few imponderables attached too. For eg, prior to covid 19, the general perception is that Italians are one of the healthiest people on the planet due to their general diet high in red wine, olive oil, tomato, garlic & herb consumption. Essentially, a mediterranean diet. Now we know to question if indeed diet relates to health, or is that simply a ploy to sell more mediterranean produce and increase tourism? Before this, the skeptics were laughed out of existence ages ago after having been overwhelmed by a tsunami of public support, just like how the world mocked doomsday prophets for the last how many years. Now it seems we are on the brink of an apocalyptic event. Its clear the Law of Probability is not called a Law for no apparent reason. Say one thing enough times and sure enough the tail gets pinned on the donkey's bum at some point.
