In Cantonese, Karate is known as 'Hoong Sau Dao', which translates as 'The way of the empty hand'.

May it bestow upon you, and all who study the teachings, clarity, insight, and blessings ceaselessly pure and vast

What is the meaning of being a warrior of peace?

To be clear, I had said that many who don't consider themselves warriors still find themselves caught in battle and conflict. -
Some angel had it manifested between 'size' and 'preview' -- how fantastic!!!

To live in persistent duality is to live in conflict. Many who dont consider themselves warriors are ignorant that in fact they do battle very often armed with their likes and dislikes. -
I noticed the font option is no longer there.. I used it quite a lot, and will miss it. Could it be reinstated please? If not, no worries. Thank you!

You are a good Daoist. And Im not lying.. These demos are useless and you shouldn't even bother to watch and comment.

Most of my online activities are done incognito, so there's hardly anything in cache that needs flushing. Thank you all the same... you've been simply awesome, doing all this for us. Cheers!!

Yep, happens to me too. Still.

How it unfolded, and will continue to unfold is unique to the individual. It is what it is - the fruits of realisation have so many flavours, which is what makes it so profoundly delicious. As observers, all we can hope for is to learn of others' experiences, ideally with an open mind and heart. We love making comparisons, and in comparing, there is an immediate appeal to return to the intellect. The intellect, being limited in its scope, naturally, can only comprehend the enlightening experience to a certain point, never beyond, before it seeks some sort of validation as to its own supremacy, albeit in vain, much like a dog chasing its own tail. First everything appears real, then it all seems dream-like, then finally, with the utmost clarity, one simultaneously sees both in all and nothing.

The thing to really bear in mind though, is that many (most?) MMA fighters derive their skills from training in a variety of Eastern arts.. Muay Thai, Jiu-jitsu, aikido, judo, Hung Gar Chuan, Wing Chun... they have more options at their disposal and should be more adaptable if they are committed to the trainings. Hence why its called MMA. Chinese martial artists tend to be loyal to one tradition, or two at most. Ultimately, its hard to pitch one against the other because the motivations of the two are vastly different.

speaking of supreme ultimate fist reminds of Sifu Didier Beddar... I'll let this clip speak for how 'empty' (as in, hard to follow) his speed is to his sparring partners...

Silat master explaining (from 2.15) why Silat is an art of love. Even though the aim is to defeat the aggressor or enemy, within oneself there must not be aggression - if there is, the defeat is meaningless cos you have already lost the battle/combat before it even began. -
There is a limit to learning and mixing various forms of martial arts. Hence I started looking for something more fundamental, at the heart. ~ D. K. Yoo ~

Good to see that i am unfollowable (so is Rene...)

No it wont fit because what I said was in reply to what you said specifically (about how that clip was not useful). ps. I have witnessed first hand a frail-looking old gentleman single-handedly neutralise 3 guys who were harassing a young lady in a rough part of town (back home, in the 70s, there were certain notorious areas in the city) - he floored all 3 within a couple of minutes. Found out later he was a Tai Chi practitioner of many years.

I would tend to look at (these) clips for inspiration and to continue to remind myself that if he (or they) can do it, surely its not out of reach for others. Moreover, these displays can be a great reminder never to underestimate an opponent - he or she can always be another DK Yoo - so how do I prepare? In this way its very good. He wasn't born fast. He developed it. Moreover, I dont think strength really matters as much as technique in the clip shown. His main emphasis I think shows the need to keep loose at all times, especially around the hips & abdomen, and generate or unleash the power... let it uncoil from there. Most IMA is organised around the same principle. What these demos also remind is to steer clear of complacency and keep seeking to be faster, stronger, calmer, and never take things for granted.

times are a changing, especially in the West. Many schools now include grappling and ground work in their art format, as well as offering knowledge on a variety of martial arts is becoming more mainstream. If you watch the dim mak vid you will see effective groundwork displayed. Have you heard of DK Yoo? With him, its instant knock out, no need to waste time grappling and such.

yeah, it was only a spoof video of some random guy faking it. you know best.

In some instances, the physical tiredness could be due to what is known as 'leaky gut syndrome'. If unchecked, it is almost impossible to eradicate the effects, chief of which is constant lethargy. Good news is that its not a difficult condition to repair. I've heard positive reports of almost immediate relief from intake of kefir, increased intake of pre and probiotics and supplementing with L Glutamine. Additionally, it is wise to include multi-coloured fruits and vegetables in one's diet, especially squash, pumpkin, sweet potato, watermelon, kale, red cabbage, okra, papaya, various berries, and black sesame seeds. Red cabbage made into sauerkraut, or a good quality Korean kimchi is also recommended. Fermented foods are meant to be especially beneficial to the body.

Hope some bums will like this. I have not been so enthralled since Crouching Tiger. Not surprising, with Tsui Hark collaborating in the screenplay. Sword Master is the title. Enjoy!

another great movie with an impressive cast (Donnie Yen, Leon Lai Meng, Nicholas Tse, Simon Yam, etc)

Tai Chi absolutely fake and useless... not 21'44 mark introduces Chen Xiaowang, who some say is the most powerful Tai Chi exponent and master of this era

yeah
