  1. Chi into Shen

Greetings.. Not All Taiji teachers.. make yourself a better conduit for the Lifeforce to flow through you, to carry away the dreggs of stasis.. Qi stored, grows stagnant.. replenish yourself with each breath, each intention.. Be well..
  2. Chi into Shen

Greetings.. Hi Kate: I have learned a certain ease of 'letting go', not looking back.. it is the essence of Liberation.. although, occasionally and thankfully infrequently, the "images in the mirror are closer than they appear", and 'time' taps me on the shoulder.. this usually happens when i act contrary to my nature.. Be well..
  3. Chi into Shen

Greetings.. Hi Kate: Consistently, i have found 'stillness' to be very truthful with 'me'.. when i suspend the thinking processes, and just observe.. i see myself in the world around 'me', physical AND spiritual.. i hear the echo of my own interactions, i feel the influence of consequences i have originated.. it is powerful medicine to be willing to see 'me' without the 'decorations/ego' we use to justify the 'me' we wish we wern't.. "Embracing your 'dark-side' is wisdom.. Living it is Enlightenment".. Be well..
  4. A God Crisis.

Greetings.. Hi Gold: There is much integrity in your post, true integrity.. i was blessed to have a mentor reveal much of what you posted while i was still young enough to benefit from it, you have posted it with nice clarity.. further, my mentor suggested that clarity and truth exist 'between' the thoughts, in the 'empty' spaces of our lives, where potential is fertile.. it is my belief that every label is a limitation, every 'path' a confinement.. Be well..
  5. Hi Birdoftruth..

Where do you practice your meditation?

  6. Laozi and the magic square

Greetings.. Please, "leave this turtle to drag its tail in the mud".. and, be vigilant, that the mind does not break the will of the spirit.. Be well..
  7. Taoist Philosophy - Chapter 74

Greetings.. Hi MH: Call it what you like.. i see simple clarity, and it is deeply appreciated.. Be well..
  8. Chi into Shen

Greetings.. Hi Paul: Excellent observation! more importantly, accurate. While i deeply appreciate the values of 'stillness and movement', and i practice both (WuJi, ZZ, Taiji, QiGong, etc..).. there is a serene and sublime shift when we find the 'stillness IN movement' and 'movement IN stillness'.. but, between the two (even-though there is no difference), 'stillness' is the foundation.. Be well..
  9. Taoist Philosophy - Chapter 74

Greetings.. Hi MH: I think Lao Tzu's brilliance is in the ability to present a perspective that counters our misconceptions so precisely as to leave us in a momnet of 'balance'.. we assume the water is flowing, Lao Tzu tells us the bridge is flowing, and.. for an instant, 'we don't know', then.. we start 'thinking'.. it is the instant of 'not knowing' that is the wisdom of the phrase.. the 'balance' is that it doesn't matter how we say it, it 'is' still what it 'is'.. Be well..
  10. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. Cool!! i like that.. it would make a great opening line for a book about Tao, but.. what could be said after that? Be well, Brother Bill..
  11. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. The 'energy'/source remains unchanged, manifestations come and go, the source remains.. the child is bound by its first understandings, the child learns the alphabet then words, then sentences, and.. some evolve into authors of great literature.. the Human Experience is an evolving process, and we are each a different places in the process.. the 'inconsistency' you hear may just be different places in the same process.. more ZZ and WuJi is good for seeing the process AND the places.. How is the child separate from the parent? How is the rain separate from the ocean? Be well..
  12. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. No, physical ailments are a function of many effects of the relationship the individual has with its environment. Yes, at some point in the evolution of the human experience there should be the ability to Consciously intend a changes in the energetic frequencies of one's existence to repair imbalances or unintended consequences.. Man cannot 'exist' between Heaven and Earth without being connected.. you are referring to awareness and understanding.. No.. think about it, those are different 'states' of existence.. there 'can' be common issues, but there is no necessity.. Be well..
  13. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. The body is an energetic manifestation of Spirit/Consciousness.. 'You' are that Spirit/Consciousness, as a unique and independently functioning version of itself.. Spirit/Consciousness refers to Heaven.. the 'body', a tangible manifestation like Earth, refers to Earth.. 'You', in much Asian philosophy, is a reference to the Individualized version of Spirit/Consciousness, sometimes referenced as 'man' (gender-neutral, as humanity).. so, the 'common' Taoist understanding of this relationship is, 'Man is the connection between Heaven and Earth'.. ZZ, WuJi, and the Arts, in general, are methods for fine-tuning the body as 'residence' for the Spirit, and.. the Spirit experiences itself as a tangible experience with its tangible environment.. 'You' are like the driver of a sports car (or garbage truck in some cases), and the body is the vehicle.. through the ages, your vehicle self-destructs, and you acquire another.. how long the 'vehicle' lasts is a function of how well it's built (genetics), how well it's maintained (training/discipline), and avoiding crashes.. Be well..
  14. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. I posted: Which was a response to: To which you responded: Hi Bill: It means that my experience is not consistent with the post i was responding to.. i don't have a sense of postures taking me 'out of, or into', my body.. "I" exist in, out, and 'as' the body.. though, i may focus awareness in any combination of, or all of, those perspectives.. Be Well..
  15. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. 'Heaven and Earth' are not posture dependent.. Be well..
  16. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. Hi Mal: What i have found, these many years later, is that alignment, central equilibrium, and the 'cycles' establish their relationships clearly within a minute or two of beginning practice, then.. i relax into the stillness, suspending the thought processes in favor of the 'ISness' revealed by Clarity.. in this state, WuJi integrates with the environment i am experiencing, the perceived separation between self and environment blurs, and.. well, i have several locations where the environment offers a brilliant diversity of experiences while affording me a relatively unnoticable vantage.. the last few years, i have found great integration by closing with the four Energies, Peng, Lu, Ji, An, expressed in the four directions.. it takes about 30-40 minutes (sometimes longer if schedule and inspiration allow).. Be well..
  17. Chi into Shen

Greetings.. Jing, Qi, Shen.. same thing, different understandings, different evolution of 'Being'.. Be well..
  18. Tantric sex question.

    Greetings.. Thanks, but.. well, thanks..
  19. Tantric sex question.

Greetings.. We are conduits, not repositories.. increased flow may seem like storage only by virtue of quantity.. a good conduit needs no storage, Qi is limitlessly available.. Be well..
  20. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. Hi Markern: I will use an analogy that makes sense, if you like automobiles.. good standing, testing your alignment, central equilibrium, creating 'space' between the joints, etc.. is like a good tune-up on your automobile, it just runs better.. and, using the 'tune-up', you also learn the efficiencies of energy (Qi) movements.. you begin to sense the connectivity to the ground/earth.. i am fond of Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming's practice of standing on bricks stood on end for my evening practice.. and, if you are adventurous, set up a Bagua circle with the bricks (and get a lot of Jow for the learning curve).. All of this will illustrate the futility of trying to force the issue, and the wisdom letting your attention/awareness create the result.. No, it's not the standing that creates the flexibility.. the standing creates the proper conditions for maximum results in your practices.. Be well..
  21. Physical effects of standing meditation

Greetings.. I follow the practice of WuJi as taught by Cai Song Fang, 20-40 minutes as feels appropriate, almost every day.. have done so since '97, i think?? long time! Be well..
  22. Advice in 20 characters or less

Greetings.. Listen... and, don't die.. Be well..
  23. Lao Tzu quotation

Greetings.. Hi RV: It is nice to see you, too.. yes, there were enough 'issues' to go all 'round, back then, so.. i figured some time in stillness might be appropriate.. Thanks for remembering.. Be well..
  24. Lao Tzu quotation

Greetings.. It seems to be a bit of a conundrum or 'Koan'.. how can it be taught without speacking of it?.. but, as i have been fortunate to learn, some of the most natural 'Taoists', have no idea that's what they are, and.. some of the most 'learned Taoists', are not.. Do not value the teacher's words more that the deeds.. Be well..
  25. A Good Tai Chi class

Greetings.. Crap!! There's a difference?? Be well..
