Greetings.. WOW!! Is it necessary to explain sarcasm applied as humor?.. The simple statement is that Buddhists are more evangelical than evangelists, more critical of others than others are of them, and Buddhist criticsm is masked as 'loving;kindness'.. ALL of this based on some guy's need to escape reality through years of continual meditation, only to reveal an imaginative 'non-existence'? Now, still too 'murky'? Be well..
-
Greetings.. Don't wake-up, brother.. the truth will certainly underwhelm you.. enjoy your pre-fabricated fantasy.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. SEE, see.. i warned you..... try something very unique, suspend your beliefs and your thoughts.. what you experience during this still state is direct and Clear.. not filtered through Buddhist or Taoist beliefs.. then, contemplate the intimate relationships and interactions that unfolded in this Clarity, contemplate the consequences that echo through reality as experienced in Clarity, Presence, and Stillness.. you will notice that NO stories come remotely close to this reality.. Be well..

Greetings.. Well this stillness was self-manifesting.. i kept reading all of this Buddhist propaganda, spewing from the inflated self-images of those too timid to Live in Reality, then.. after a few posts of meaningless parroting of Buddhist self-righteousness, i found myself in a trance-like state.. each Buddhist precept ripping away at fringes of sanity, self-awareness, and the fundamental duality of existence.. yes, the stillness self-manifested as an instinctive survival response.. it's like 'playing dead' to keep the incessant Buddhist droning from ripping away your very existence.. Be well..

Greetings.. According to your interpretation, Taoism may or may not 'be true'.. if, like me, you understand that it is just the way things 'are', then it's simply true.. if you attach ritual and religion to it, bury it with the rest of the 'religions'.. the last paragraph, is your well-programmed beliefs, attempts to justify your preferred fantasy, a conceptual catastrophe.. just 'still the mind', and let your 'stories' go, they deceive you.. Be well..

Greetings.. Below are a couple of links to consider as 'get-a-ways' and opportunities to meet and greet.. i am one of the judges at these events and thought.. Be well..

Greetings.. ALL religions begin by teaching the novice about that religion's beliefs.. none of which are true. 'Truth', once realized, is wholly independent of any religion or ritual.. There are different understandings of 'Taoism' some are religious, and therefore not valid.. but, the fundamental principles and writings of Taoist Philosophy are simple and directly applicable to Life, lived well.. Fundamental Taoist principles begin with "Tao", the 'Way'.. as in the 'Way' things ARE.. NOT the 'way' others tell you they are, or not in the 'way' we THINK they are.. but, the 'way' things are revealed when we suspend that 'thinking' process, when we still the mind.. and actually have that direct relationship with Life.. Be well..

Greetings.. Yep, when i went from 9mm to 45 cal... Be well..

Greetings.. And, the charade continues.. Individual Beings, testing each other's intellects and egos by refining the fairy-tale that they don't actually exist, and that there's no free-will, or volitional Being.. Content to BE that which is pretensed as 'illusion', as long as no one spoils the game that feeds the Ego.. Still, even in the dismissal of the necessity of such volitional Beings, the necessity is played-out or the game would end.. When someone calls your name, Who is it that answers?.. Be well..

Greetings.. There is no "Obviousness throughout, aliveness everywhere!".. there is no one to observe or appreciate those qualities.. those qualities are conceptual descriptions of 'someone's' experiences.. return to Clarity, see Life for what it IS, not what Buddha tells you it is.. be authentic.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. Cool, thanks for noticing.. Yeah, it gets really comical as people look through the kaleidoscopes of their 'beliefs' and assume they have 'clarity'.. Clarity begins when beliefs end, not that beliefs can't serve a purpose, but.. the proportion of 'believers' that understand their 'beliefs' with Clarity, compared to those that just 'believe', is quite low.. any way, thanks for the encouragement.. Be well..

Greetings.. I see you don't spend much time understanding the science that supports your miserable existence.. science has increased the 'yield per acre' of farming and ranching such that the world can feed itself with less than 10% of its population actually working at farming and ranching, compared to 40% in 1900.. science has increased food production such that we CAN have surpluses to distribute on a wide scale, and a population charitable enough to fund the science and distribution of food.. Let's see.. Buddhism? Oh yeah, if you can pretend you don't exist, then you can pretend you don't suffer, "THAT was easy".. How is it that you don't understand the reference of "Pure Spirituality", but continue to comment on it's "fundamental criteria", typical.. Pure Spirituality, removes pointless ritual and dogma and superstition.. Tradition has over 5000 years of "delving into the unknown,, and, sifting, sifting, sifting", it is a circular loop of flawed speculation, repeated generation after generation with no hope of actually improving the Human Condition.. science, on the other hand, systematically reveals the the fundamental processes that make-up existence, science exposes actuallity, where religion embraces fantasy.. as for Tao, it is simple.. Tao means 'way', as in the 'Way' things ARE.. not as in "let's all pretend".. "that which is known" is not the true Tao, i DO remember and practice.. because i understand the metaphor, not your parroting.. You speculate beyond your limited capacity to understand.. Pure Spirituality is based on actuallity, not speculation and fantasy.. Pure Spirituality seeks to deal with the actuallity of the the Human Experience such that 'comfort, wellness, and security' are available to all of humanity.. address physical pain and suffering, and you open-up the cosmos for exploration without the petty conflicts of religious intolerance and exclusivity.. Taoism, as its fundamental principle, is seeing/experiencing clearly, directly and verifying reality without the influences of dogma and tradition, not to be mistaken for Religious Taoism as influenced by those delusional Buddhists.. I see you fancy yourself as some sort of "brave spiritual warrior", how's that workin'-out? Maybe you ought to try-out your own cognitive skills, but here let me help you.. Unconditional Compassion, is without 'Conditions', like Buddhist conditions, Catholic Conditions, Government conditions, Ideological conditions, etc.. Compassion is a basic human function, and it is appalling to see various 'groups' marketing and inflating their self-image as if they had special insights into 'Compassion'.. this attitude spirals into competitive compassion, void of sincerity.. LOL, you're not that good at this are you? Science studies the 'causes of pain', develops cures and interventions.. it doesn't explain how to pretend you don't exist, so you pretend the pain and suffering doesn't exist, too.. like Tao, science sees things clearly and acts appropriately.. there are errant individuals and groups within any organization, so science has some poor results built on flaws inherent to the Human Condition, but.. science is the most likely to recognize and utilize actual break-throughs for the improvements of the Human Condition.. science looks for the causes, searches for cures, and refines existent processes for the benefit of humanity.. Spirituality is rapidly being assimilated into the field of scientific study. Spirituality, in its most pure representation, is the awareness that we are 'parts of a greater whole'.. this 'awareness' reveals the interwoven processes of Humanity's relationship with its Environment, the Cosmos.. Science has recognized the inter-related processes of Life as essential to its study of 'the Way things ARE', and its interest in improving Humanity's relationship with the 'way' things are.. Tradition is stagnant, exclusive, and irrational.. mostly, Tradition is defensive and resistant to science because it reveals the actuallity of religious, ideological, and traditional claims.. 'Claims', that until science matured, were the domain of 'mystics and sages', to be distributed with discrimination and favoritism.. Ultimately, after more than three decades exploring many 'Traditions', i find the fundamental Taoist principles and philosophy to closely approximate my understandings of Existence.. Taoism seeks clarity, to experience Life and existence directly, without prejudices and preferences of dogma, programming, and Tradition.. Realization begins with Clarity.. Be well..

Greetings.. Mr. Harris is well-disciplined, he relies on Clarity.. his perspectives are refreshing and directly applicable to the Human Experience.. the reference to scientific methods is useful to neutralize the effects of superstition and dogma.. to clearly identify suffering and solution is the most efficient and effective method of improving the Human Condition.. The most confusing and conflicting ways to end suffering are by religious or philosophical means, what i call 'Conditional Compassion'.. Mr. Harris' admonishments of the Buddhist Tradition are equally applicable to all "faiths, beliefs, religions, philosophies", etc.. any system of ritual promising unverifiable results, or results that defy educated common-sense, will incite conflict at the core of existence.. there are primal differences between those that act on verifiabe principles, and those that discard common-sense and knowledge born of experience to obtain indescribable and unverifiable results.. to rely on Faith and Tradition is a process conceived in conflict.. Pure Spirituality would eliminate the variables and bias of tradition, science reveals more mystery with each question it answers.. Tradition is stagnant. Ultimately, Pure Spirituality will eliminate 'suffering' for any cause, and negotiate 'pain' to a manageable aspect of the physical experience.. this is the 'Way' of Pure Spirituality.. Unconditional Compassion.. Be well..

Greetings.. The First Actual Truth: The story dancing in your mind, is not the Truth. As for "Noble Truths", they are neither Noble nor True.. they are statements of one person's beliefs, adopted as "Noble Truths" by those too timid to see for themselves.. Be well..

Greetings.. Buddhism seems to be the only philosophy on the planet that sees the complexities it has conjured with such arrogance pretended as ease. Buddhism creates the suffering then solicits people to abandon their common-sense to eliminate their 'illusion' of suffering.. to pronounce 'Life is suffering', is only half of the equation.. Life is also indescribable magnificence.. Buddhists are 'glass half empty kind of folks' anyhow.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. Hi Vajrahridaya: Naturally, a Buddhist will assume they can improve Simplicity, because it's not true simplicity until a Buddhist has complicated it beyond recognition, first.. what a hoot.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. Still your minds, they chatter incessantly.. the stilled mind knows no Buddha, no Tao, or 'God'.. it knows no ego, it simply experiences Life unfolding spontaneously, and chooses from the available options according to its own understandings.. Take a primitive man, a virgin to the "Spiritual Circus".. then, describe 'God', Buddhism, Advaita, Zen, Tao.. i'll wager the wisdom of simplicity will favor Tao, simply based on the principle of "Occam's Razor".. why do people find comfort in imagining solutions, where truth is more than sufficient and plainly observable/experiencable? Be well..
-
Greetings.. Thanks Marblehead, the T'Bums should publish a Comic Book, "The Chronicles of Bunny and the Sage".. I asked a Buddhist friend, what happens after the Buddhists reach Enlightenment?.. she checked to make sure no one could hear, then whispered.. "we become Taoists".. Be well, Brother..

Greetings.. So... i'm sittin' here wondering how any of this affects 'Now'.. What i'm saying is, that regardless of history, there is matter of practical results.. do the claims made regarding personal states of Consciousness/Awareness/Existence actually manifest according to 'path' as described.. 'Does it work'? i really don't care if the 'source' is a razor-sharp truffle, the issue is "does it work"? Be well..
-
Greetings.. "Doing nothing, all things get done" "Saying nothing, says it all" From my perspective, what you "would say", "very lazy and ego-based" sounds a bit judgmental.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. It cannot be defined any better than the question you just asked.. Don't look for definitions, just 'look'.. Be well..

Greetings.. LOL.. well, i hope the 'Satire' is having some effect.. The recent shift in character is not my 'true face', it is a mask of 'mirrors'.. i have deep respect for my Buddhist brothers and sisters, those i commune with daily and those i interact with in forums such as this.. it takes great strength and courage to discard one's 'self', as a means of actually realizing that same self.. but, i have no understanding of that 'path' as a 'necessary' component of realization.. As a gesture of my sincerity i wish to express a heart-felt apology for what was an intentional antagonizing of others.. my intention was to 'reflect' an exaggerated measure of the disrespect so casually being accepted as 'okay' in this forum.. i've seen other forums collapse due to this plague.. and, being honest, there was indeed an element of accuracy in my presentation, absent the theater of seething rage and exaggerated claims.. the casual acceptance of disrespect diminishes this forum's authenticity, and.. by unprejudiced observation, the disrespect is weighted heavily among the Buddhist disagreements between themselves.. even threads with no intention to Buddhist inclinations seem to be hijacked and transmorphugenerized (an onscure Buddhist principle) into another platform for discussion about Buddhist policy or Buddhist Evangelism.. and i say this with true Lovingkindness.. Please do not associate 'me' with 'sage', that would be unwise.. and i hope you can understand the subtle but important distinction between passion and emotion.. i walk no path, but observe many paths with sincere curiosity.. i find Taoist Philosophy, the basics, to most closely approximate my understandings of existence.. while i have a deep fondness for Taiji and QiGong, i experience them excellent methods of refining the Physical experience, which is the 'vehicle' through which Tao IS 'Tao'. It is through Meditation, that Tao is revealed 'to me', i cannot speak for others.. of course, there are great deifferencs in people's understandings of 'meditation', mine is simple.. stillness of the mind. Anything other than stillness of the mind is NOT stillness, so the mind is engaged and therefore separate, by some degree, from the actual experience.. as much as i find that 'goals' are like 'expectations', and great expectations lead to great disappointments.. i would describe my 'goal' as Clarity, from which i can engage the mind with a clear understanding of the experiences.. but, once the mind is engaged, it's 'game-on', the result of who we have evolved ourselves to 'be'.. So, as Taoism goes, i find myself intrigued with the incredible insights and profound clarity of the "pre-formal Taoism" resources, the I Ching, Lao Tzu, and Chuang Tzu.. incredible insights into Human Nature and its intimate relationship 'with itself' and with Life as Tao incarnate.. as Taoism progressed into formalized 'structure' it joined the ranks of so many other 'paths'.. and a 'path' is a limitation by excluding what is not that 'path', even in the 'path' that supposses itself to be all-inclusive.. Anyway.. my most sincere apologies, the 'Satire' will be put away.. and the 'mask' set aside.. it is neither fun nor comfortable to resort to such tools, but.. occasionally necessary.. Be well..

Greetings.. Hi mikaelz : Look, i'm straight-up honest, i occasionally see Life clearly, and i'm not tolerant of pretentious wannabe intellectuals.. Taoist Philosophy, the stuff before 'alchemy' and mystical pretentiousness similar to Buddhist and Hindu fantasy, THOSE "Taoist thoughts" and the inherent Clarity is what interests me.. the insights of Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu, and the I Ching.. those are gifts of Clarity that reveal Human nature and its intimate relationship with itself, and with Life.. I've 'lurked' this forum long enough to recognize who is or isn't sincere, a quality i respect, and sorry but, you are deficient, not beyond rehabilitation, though.. I have no interest in debates about history, time-lines, and philosophical conceptualities that abandon common-sense in favor of ancient 'Sages' misunderstansings of their own imaginings.. seriously, making-up stories to quell your fears of your 'self' passing into non-existence, is 'nuts' on a personal scale, but.. teaching it as 'Liberation from Suffering', to a gullible audience suffering by their own choices is a crime against Humanity.. Life is about Living well, with unconditional sincerity and gusto in an interactive relationship with that very same Life.. the only 'paths' are behind you, because as J Krishnamurthy so Clearly observed, 'Truth' is a pathless land.. Taoist Philosophy is not rituals and rules, its the principles that Liberate us from that bondage of conformity.. Unfortunately, it seemed that a direct experience was best suited for this communication, i hope the well-intended sincerity will be appreciated.. Be well..

Greetings.. I AM judgemental, i only speak for me, YOU read the title of the Forum, i'll post about Taoist thoughts on this Taoist fourm as i choose, you don't 'think' well, and i'm not a prick, so keep looking.. WOW!!!!

Greetings.. This place is infested with some sort of Buddhist Bacteria.. is there a vaccine or cure? I mean REALLY, aren't there Buddhist Forums where you guys/gals can pretend you don't exist? because your existence here is very noticable.. and, if you care to notice, Taoists really aren't interested in your petty squabbles or self-inflicted paranoias.. Be well..
