Greetings.. The 'stilled mind' doesn't reference it's concepts.. it suspends the referencing process.. even when the referencing process is not suspended, it doesn't affect 'what' you observe, the Moon remains unaffected, but.. my interpretation of that observation will be affected.. Be well..

Greetings.. 'Still the mind', what is observed is not influenced by 'concepts'.. i observe many concepts, very little Clarity.. Be well..

Greetings.. My understanding is that Meditation is the practice of 'stilling the mind', from which Clarity emerges.. if the mind is engaged, it is doing something other than Meditation.. One of the most profound benefits of Taiji, practiced as 'Meditation in Motion', is training ourselves to engage the 'movements of Life' with Clarity.. Clarity reveals what 'is', rather than what we 'think', or what others have conditioned us to think.. Clarity is a beautiful simplicity, profound in its application to Living Well.. Be well..

Greetings.. YES!! i have special glasses, lenses crafted by secret Taoist monks using ionized quartz and polarized coatings that condense and focus your Chi into coherent beams of laser-like energy.. these glasses come with a CD describing the 6 specific mantras required to activate the mind's link to the ionized quartz.. the CD also demonstrates the ethical use of this powerful tool.. Act now, and for the ridiculously low price of $600.00 you will receive a second pair absolutely free.. Disclaimer: If the buyer's mind is not specifically tuned to the ambient resonance of the earth's magnetic field, these glasses will not function as described.

Greetings.. I am a huge fan of Vivo shoes.. less than an 8th of an inch thick soles, no padding, very flexible and sensitive, but the layers of kevlar are great protection from nasty's.. less than 5 ounces per shoe.. not as cheap as some, though.. Be well..

Greetings.. Thank you Eric.. i resonate with much of what you have posted.. but, honestly, i was just curious.. similarly, i don't refer to my 'titles' except as circumstance reveals an appropriateness.. i supposed that most of us already knew 'who you are'.. so, it seemed a little redundant.. I also resonate with the 'wicked sense of humor' (liberally sprinkled with twisted, too), but.. i reserve that for those i feel can appreciate it.. if my curiosity has raised any concern, please forgive me.. i have deep respect for Mantak's work, even the aspects where my understandings differ.. Be well <humble bows>..

Greetings.. Carlos Castenada describes 'the Gait of Power'.. basically, you get yourself up to a desired speed then, you kind of 'float' along.. more time gliding than contacting the ground.. as a land surveyor, i have used this phenomenal technique to save my hide more that i care to recall.. here, in Florida, we have nests of nasty little things called 'Yellow Jackets', if you disturb the nest they will pursue you relentlessly, and their sting is plenty painful.. Florida woodlands are typically tangled masses of vegetation which also tears you up or induces unpleasant rashes, so.. while surveying in the woodlands you will eventually stir-up a mess of Yellow Jackets, then between the bees and the vegetation you will generally go through a natural ass-whoopin'.. but, after practicing this 'Gait of Power', you begin to acquire the quality of movement similar to that of a deer.. you quickly get up to speed and begin to let your feet control the direction, lightly pushing-off solid surfaces.. this requires a still-mind and enhanced clarity.. not everything in the woodlands is as 'solid' as it appears.. for a few years i actually practiced this movement in the woodlands near my house, but.. it's amazing how much Clarity and motivation those pesky Yellow Jackets can inspire.. Be well..

Greetings.. Hi Eric, no it doesn't offend me.. i was genuinely curious.. i have many 'titles' conferred upon me, and i worked hard, too.. but, i am not the 'titles', i am just me.. i am always surprised, not offended, by those that use titles.. as for 'anonymity', my name is Bob Waers.. and, it's not 'who i am'.. eternal student and occasional teacher, are aspects of 'who i am'.. Be well..

Greetings.. If nobody's chasing me, i ain't runnin'.. i hike regularly, my discipline includes all the Cardio i can stand, and my knees remind me why i like hiking.. i have a deep respect for runners, though.. Be well..

Greetings.. Out of curiosity, Eric.. why do you preface your name with 'Master'? Be well..

Greetings.. Nocturnal Emmisions are nature's way of telling the story of the master pouring the tea for the babbling student.. you simply can't add more to a 'full cup'.. there's an important difference between cultivated control and forced retention.. cultivated control is a developed discipline in harmony with its environment.. forced retention is a misunderstanding, often 'forced' into a training schedule.. cultivated control is often a practice agreed upon between partners and includes many aspects of the student's lifestyle.. Forced retention is usually not a free choice, but used as a means to an end.. cultivated control is practiced as an enhancement to one's chosen lifestyle.. Cultivated control is adopted through understanding, it reveals harmony and joy in the journey, it is not exclusive or harsh.. for the sincere student it expands awareness and relationships.. Be well..

Greetings.. I would ask you to just 'drop' any preconceptions, and out of pure curiosity, try the pointing technique.. heck, for that matter, try anything.. sincere curiosity has revealed so much more, to me, than all of my preconceptions.. it seems that the more i 'think i know', the less i really discover.. The 'index fingering' won't hurt, i promise, and.. what if it 'helps'.. it's just a device, to be discarded when you 'understand' the process.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. Are you projecting meaning where there is none? Please do not misunderstand my attempt at clarification as disagreement, that is not the intention.. Even more simple than that.. Awareness is only the messenger.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. The 'mind' is not 'empty'.. in 'stillness' there is no 'motion' to perceive.. you can't 'empty the mind'.. only 'still' it so there are no 'mental perceptions', just Clarity.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. Thank you, Athanor: I hadn't made that connection with 'words', but.. it has a comfortable resonance.. , too, will do some pondering.. Be well..
-
Greetings.. If you are interested, i offer this very natural method of 'stilling the mind', it's simple, effective, and reliable.. Get into a favored meditation posture, it makes no difference which it is.. relax a bit and just notice the thought patterns.. then, 'point' the index fingers, point gently until you feel slight tension on the inside surface of the index fingers.. i can't say 'notice the thought patterns, now', i think you will be surprised, but.. if you do this, please share your experiences with me.. this is a physical link to the spiritual experience, and only a surface indication of the potential.. Be well..

Greetings.. I hope you will find the analogy appropriate, so.. it is the atoms that equal humans, the atoms are organized and arranged by the Cosmic Life-force we refer to as Qi.. the atoms are arranged into a structure of form, shape, and mass that creates a portal and vessel for this Life-force to experience its 'Life'.. in this arrangement of atoms, the Whole (human) is greater than the sum of its Parts (atoms).. Similarly, the Whole of humanity is greater than the sum of its parts.. QiGong is developing a conscious relationship with this 'Life-force'.. Literally, QiGong means 'Energy Work', and while some systems are more effective than others, i understand that the 'intention' of the practitioner is the primary variable.. Be well..

Greetings.. I can olny offer my 'personal eperience', so: It's ALL 'Enegy'.. each manifestation of Energy has it's own unique vibrational signature.. as we interact with existence/Life we find resonance or disonance with each interaction.. to the 'stilled mind', the resonance/disonance is evident.. Energy has no agendas, preferences, or prejudices, until it is manifested by the intentions of Consciousness, so.. 'still the mind', listen, and the answers are revealed.. for the 'stilled mind', the arbitrary standards, values, and judgments are absent.. sexuality has its own 'vibrational signature', and that signature is altered by the intentions of the participants.. listen carefully, the resonance or disonance will counsel you appropriately.. Be well..

Greetings.. What you refer to as 'hedonism', i live as the 'Bohemian' philosophy.. hedonism tends to codify or organize itself, bohemian philosophy, like Taoist philosophy, is more focused on the 'nature of mankind'.. it is simply willing to acknowledge humanity's fullness, humanity's 'secret desires'.. Bohemians live 'for the moment', whatever that moment may be.. they tend to avoid conventional roles in society, as that would confine their spirit, confine 'who they are'.. Hedonists tend to focus more narrowly on specific themes.. My research leaves me with the opinion that the early Taoists, those whose lifestyles and contributions inspired Taoist philosophy, were very much the models for Bohemian philosophies.. a common theme between Taoist philosophy and Bohemian philosophy is the rejection of a structured existence, a social role to be played-out.. How does this relate to humanity's spiritual quest? I think RyanO is close: Where the above quote considers Hedonism as a 'path', i would suggest that the 'path' is only revealed as your next step falls upon it.. i think the 'automatically upon death' perspective is spot-on.. and, ethics/morality are in-place to offer a 'balance' of these opportunities to the masses, but.. in that 'balance', the experiences are usually diminished, because those that have the greatest opportunity relinquish a bit in favor of those that have less of those opportunities.. the greatest opportunities go by without full realization due to the equality of morals and ethics.. and, those benefiting from this sharing are often unable to understand the or appreciate the gift... Be well..

How Many Brass and Woodwind musicians are in here?
TzuJanLi replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
Greetings.. I have been playing Native American flutes for about 20 years.. i have been playing/learning the Shakuhachi for the last 5 years.. both are stunning breath meditations and excellent for adjusting energetic frequencies.. it is widely thought that the Shakuhachi is one of the most difficult instruments to learn, i agree.. i bought mine from Tai Hei (Monty Levenson) http://www.shakuhachi.com/ and, i made one myself.. the energy work involved in Shakhuchi is nothing short of profound, but.. be prepared for the hard work (Gung Fu) of learning.. Be well.. -
Greetings.. Excellent observation! If anyone cares to notice, there is an observable difference between the male's 'time of passion' and the female's.. the effort to enhance the female's experience (balance) also revealed enhanced energetic benefits for the male.. it is also noteworthy that the mind is a product of nature, equally are the products of the mind.. including physical disciplines. Is there a difference between a bird's nest and a human's house? both build according to their 'nature'.. is there a difference between a beaver's dam and a human's dam? both build according to their 'nature'.. Crafting a discipline that enhances sexual relationships and enhances the male's energies doesn't seem contradictory from my perspective.. Be well..

If i may vouch for Bill (Baguakid).. his skill, knowledge, and most importantly, his sincerity, has my deepest respect.. i hold Bill in high regard, he has spent years in China dedicated to study and learning.. i enjoy his good-natured quirkiness.. we are Kung Fu brothers, each spending many years at the Wah Lum Kung Fu Temple under GM Chan Pui.. Bill is open and kind in his sharing of some real knowledge, we can all benefit by some simple attentiveness and genuine curiosity.. (Thanks Bill).. oh, and.. Bagua is for those too twisted to walk around freely, we just keep you guys in those nice little circles.. Be well.. I'm working on the links..

Relaxation, attentiveness, visualization
TzuJanLi replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
Greetings.. Relaxation isn't about being 'limp'.. the classics point to flexible resilience, neither insisting nor resisting.. i favor relaxation, a quiet mind, and a wholesome discipline (Taiji and QiGong work for me).. in the stillness of the mind the discipline emerges naturally 'with' the unfolding process, neither insisting nor resisting.. visualization engages the mind to its own distraction, distorting pure Clarity.. quiet attentiveness flows naturally from relaxation.. Be well.. -
Greetings.. Marblehead is spot-on.. neither your mom nor you should prejudice your child's choices in the regard of belief systems.. Live your beliefs openly and with unconditional sincerity, let your mom live her's.. let your child see the 'truth'/deeds of beliefs put into action.. and, be at peace with the possibility that your child my choose a different path altogether.. Be well..

Greetings.. Usually, no.. Taiji is first and foremost "of the Mind".. until you choose your path 'with your mind', control your training 'with your mind', experience the truths 'with your mind'... there is no Taiji for you.. it all begins with the mind.. cultivation, MCO, abstinence, FaJing, form, fighting, ALL of it.. begins in the 'mind'.. abstinence is not necessary at all, discipline and training are essential.. discipline and training can lead to a healthy, happy, and enduring sex life without loss of jing.. Be well..
