The book is twofold. It talks about how by creating constructs or landscapes in our imagination/astral realm similar to Glenn Morris's Da Mos cave we can use the subconscious in order to heal from traumatic events...bad relationships, rape, abusive childhood.....etc.....You do this by using the symbols of the mind/subconscious as tools to aid you In this healing process via going back and exploring said events, understanding them and then uprooting them from your mind and planting a better seed. The 2nd part of the book is how the imagination is used in the western tradition and how they created structured visualizations in order to interact with various Beings and forces such as Angels in order to recieve knowledge and heighten states of consciousness. It's a bit similar to shamanistic journeying where they interact with heaven and earth.....only pathworkings tend to have bit more of a rigid structure.....which I found to be a bit annoying and outdated....but still interesting....the need for more or less structure differs for each person I guess. I personally tend to a more spontaneous approach in which have an intent, go into vision and then let my guides show me where to go. Hope this was useful snowmonki. My 2 cents, Peace

Avoid pain and attain pleasure. This is the rhythm that the majority of human beings on the planet are running on. IMO, a large part of spirituality is going beyond these boundaries but at the same time understanding them. Appreciating pleasure but not being possessed by it. Understanding pain and its value and at the same time being wary not to cause unnecessary suffering and hardship. Thus attaining greater enlightenment and freedom. My 2 cents, Peace

Just my opinion. There are not many people whom are actually knowledgable about the topic on this site. Only a few give advice that comes from actual experience with helping people whom are facing the traumatic experience of having it awoken and have awoken it themselves and thus can empathize their situation. (Seth, Shaktimamma, Hundun....etc) It would be great if perhaps we could have some of these people volunteer to write articles for the section. I don't think it would be good to have a section in the forum where everyone and there uncle is giving advice when other people are coming to the forum with this traumatic experience and possibly putting their physical, emotional and psychological health In the hands of random people on the Internet who may or may not know what there talking about. IMO, it's better to give general and proven information to those whom come to the site so they can help themselves. And perhaps give them further sources of information (teachers, support sites)where they can continue to study and understand whats going on with there body and also find a community for support rather than feeling completely alone and wanting to jump of a cliff due to depression that often comes along with it. Just my opinion though. My 2 cents, Peace

Rene, iamsam, Lerner, Rene,taoiseasy.....etc.....Thanks for all your advice gonna keep experimenting. I tend to have a watery body and live in a hot climate but also plan to move to colder areas in the future. Gonna see how my body reacts to this new way of living for several months and adjust accordingly. Much remains to be seen on my side of the fence. My 2 cents, Peace

Been listening to the advice of other practitioners as well as reading about others experiences and have decided to include a little bit for meat in my diet. Gonna either have a small portion of meat every week or a large portion once a month....not sure but it does seem that for "long term" health meat is important in some ways and can also function as a tool to keep one grounded. It's said that one of the most difficult things about going on a spiritual retreat is that people find they have nothing to distract themselves with and put them in that unconscious trance state so many are used to via TV, work, driving, reading...etc Being isolated and in complete silence forces people to look within and examine things which we rather ignore. Self awareness and being present in the moment is the opposite of escapism and also the cure for it. My 2 cents, Peace

I have not practiced any of his methods nor read any of his books as I am not neccesarily a fan of Chaos Magic, I am quite satisfied with my neigong practices. However, I do respect him as an experienced occultist and as someone whom is not an armchair practitioner....but actually does a lot of intensive work, therefore I feel that what he shares is of value. Also, despite the fact that I lean very heavily towards Mysticism (Internal Alchemy) in my work and he leans toward practical magic in his approach, I still think there is a time and place for everything and I can say from listening to his shows I have learned a lot. The people in this Magical Challenge are not confined to using his methods. It is interesting to hear the benefits and experiences they recieve from working with the entity they choose as well as their methodology, definitely worth listening to. My 2 cents, Peace

Requesting help in regards to meditation and third eye opening specifically
RiverSnake replied to DeadDragon's topic in General Discussion
IMO it's best to slowly open up ones channels, to much at one time can fry you. Go at your own pace, just because someone meditates for 10 hours everyday does not mean you should do the same. My 2 cents, Peace -
I have noticed as of late that words and sections from the Bible really have a lot of depth and power behind them, so I have decided to pick up a copy. However, I was wondering what English versions are best for esoteric study? Any esoteric Christians or Gnostics in the house? Your insights would be much appreciated. My 2 cents, Peace

It takes some practice to distinguish between ones intuition and ones intellect. When I have difficulty distinguishing between the two I use divination to get an answer (tarot cards). My 2 cents, Peace -
Professional Poker Player - Is it bad karma?
RiverSnake replied to becomethepath's topic in General Discussion
Develop a skill that is useful, that you find bliss in doing and that people value. In other words find what kind of work jiggles your heart strings, find your passion and purpose, what works make you swell with emotion and brings tears to your eyes of joy to your heart when you do it? An old trick I learned from one of my previous teachers was to get out a blank sheat of paper and write down what you think you life purpose is.....just keep digging deeper and deeper into yourself and questioning what you want. When you get to something that makes you burst with tears then you've found something your reasonably passionate about. Do you think gambling is a healthy and harmonious usage of your life while your here in this incarnation? Best of luck to you. My 2 cents, Peace -
Indeed, I agree. For me its like reading good poetry, but with Esoteric truths thrown into the mix. It's a way to connect to high level practitioners and be inspired and uplifted by there essence. The depth and power comes from the practitioners whom empowered and consecrated the words. Thanks taiwabbit. I think I may go get both the NKJW and the NASB. Psalms and John sound cool as well My 2 cents, Peace

Cool thanks for the link Chang. Looks like an interesting book, even though I am always a bit suspicious of esoteric interpretations. I enjoy more feeling into the words myself. Geez, that's some pretty deep stuff. You know anything about the Dead Sea scrolls? I imagine they are stuffed full of Esotericism. Thanks Jeff, I may just go down to the library and pick me up a copy. I agree I think much is lost translation but perhaps maybe the original intent may still be with the words. My 2 cents, Peace

Being Poor and Happy is Sexy, My Epiphany
RiverSnake replied to becomethepath's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I understand where your coming from becomethepath. However, I think it is incorrect to criticize wealth as something bad. People in general simply are unconscious. They don't know how to enjoy life and therefore don't know how to enjoy wealth, its not that because people are wealthy that they attract morbid and unhealthy life situations (treacherous friends, gold diggers...etc)....it's because of whom they are as individuals (internally speaking)....however don't get me wrong, I am a fierce opponent of consumerism, its the worse disease since the plague. I think the ideal situation is to connect heaven and earth in all areas of our life, not just when were meditating, but in our careers as well. Wealth is not a burden if it comes from doing something you truly enjoy and if you are providing a good service that enriches the community you are in, that in itself can be extremely fulfilling and a very beautiful thing. "Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house." Mathew 3:15 At the same time there is a saying: If you have a wife then you have wife problems. If you have a car then you have car problems. If you have a family you have family problems. For every possession or addition that an individual acquires he has the responsibility to look after such things. Such are the trials and tribulations of life. Wealth and poverty are two extremes and both have there difficulties....I feel it is better to be simple and natural as we walk through life rather than to aim and like and dislike one extreme over another, such is just another trap.........in our work and life our abilities will manifest naturally according to our level of cultivation. It's important for everyone to find their Middle Way in their own life. "Those who know they have enough are truly wealthy." Tao Te Ching My 2 cents, Peace -

It's hard to get good quality food nowadays....whether your a vegetarian or a meat eater. Blessing the food helps to purify it a bit so it goes through your system more efficiently with less friction in the pipes. My 2 cents, Peace
