Hi, I'm a christian and my Kundalini is awakening. Please Help :)
RiverSnake replied to WillingToListen's topic in Welcome
You're gonna be fine man. This kind of opening is difficult for everyone....especially when its spontaneous and unexpected, although it can be difficult.....ultimately this kind of awakening is a very positive thing for you as a human being. Lay of the drugs and drink lots of water. They're are a couple of experienced/kunadlini active practitioners on this site whom have guided others through this experience, i am sure they can give you the advice and direction you need. My 2 cents, Peace -
Its funny that you mention that. I recently had a similar experience where i picked up my teachers book which i hadn't read in awhile and upon doing so felt like i was flooded with a cool breeze of energy....it felt like i had been wandering in a heavy darkness and had just come into the light....it was like the feeling of coming home after a long trek. It was quite a powerful experience. Good post taoiseasy. My 2 cents, Peace

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Glad to here you got some benefits Rainbow. My 2 cents, Peace

The taobums definitely isn't all sun shine and roses. But there a lot great bums on here whom know how to "ward off and roll back" to steal a Tai chi term....and at the same time share their well earned "pearls and gems" quite freely. I am still here posting and contributing and am glad it is so. My 2 cents, Peace

I bought one of his books "Small Circulation". Had a similar experience, couldn't get through all the intellectual mumbo jumbo...when i went to the practical sections i was just lost. I think its meant to serve as an Academic text in order to bring some reputability to Qigong methods in a western medical setting. Just my opinion though. -My 2 cents, Peace

Burmese is 2nd best IMO....its a good posture to use while you're working your way towards Full Lotus and will to a certain degree help open up your hips....but stretches are still very much needed. -My 2 cents, Peace

A great book. As a noobie whom who is working to master full lotus I highly recommend it. My 2 cents, Peace

I was teaching a kid at my job last night how to project chi......he picked up on it right away and we were projecting to each others hands In no time . Ahhhh kids they seem like the only people I get along with nowadays. There the only ones who seem to know how to play. My 2 cents, Peace

Glad to hear you getting help wit your issue. Don't have any experience with these things so can't give any valuable advice. However, I hear this is a pretty good book on exorcism. Supposedly the lady was doing exorcisms's for decade or two. Perhaps it can give you some insights. http://www.amazon.com/The-Exorcists-Handbook-Josephine-McCarthy/dp/193399391X/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1358028233&sr=8-6&keywords=Exorcism+handbook -My 2 cents, Peace

I think teaching can be a very entangling situation....attachements can be so subtle and sneak up on you when you least suspect it....the path has many pitfalls and potholes.....something both the teacher and student have to deal with to the best of their abilities....teaching I am sure can be a pain in the ass....but I think that's just part of the trade.... -My 2 cents, Peace

Wanted some opinions on my experience when I visited a Sufi Master years ago....
RiverSnake replied to ą„Dominicusą„'s topic in General Discussion
My understanding is that many Beings choose to hang around and act as inner contacts for there lineage and to continue the line and help cultivators. I think they choose to stay around probably more out of compassion than anything else and that this perhaps may be part of their cultivation after life. Also my understanding is that on the other planes of existence space and time tend be irrelevant. Beings can be anywhere they want to be....whether its up i the Buddha fields or hanging out around these parts. -My 2 cents, Peace -
Serious question for those cultivating celibacy or retention forms.
RiverSnake replied to GrandmasterP's topic in General Discussion
Celibacy and retaining is quite easy for me now adays....but practicing tantric/sacred sex while retaining....the amount of discipline and self control that it takes is currently beyond me....though i have heard many people sing its praises. Not something i think your average joe can do effectively...but that's just my limited opinion....never attempted it personally. -My 2 cents, Peace -
breath meditation, difference between concentration and insight?
RiverSnake replied to Flolfolil's topic in General Discussion
They are complementary, I recommend practicing both. Concentration exercises like gazing at a candle are good for when you are just beginning and give you a taste of emptiness so that you can eventually deepen ones practice in the insight area of practice. A healthy combination of each is good, they help refine and contribute to each other. -my 2 cents, peace -
meditation - not contriving the breath
RiverSnake replied to konchog uma's topic in General Discussion
I have noted recently in my own practice that there is a difference between Emptiness Meditation and Focused meditation....albeit they can have similar results. I can go into the void easily....but when it comes to concentrating my mind I have difficulty....been experimenting with some basic concentration techniques like holding one idea or image in your mind to the exclusion of all others recently.....it helps strengthen ones concentration and thus allows one to "watch the breath" without distraction. In a way it's the complete opposite of emptiness meditation but I think they complement each other quite well. My 2 cents, peace -
Best of luck to you. Be true to yourself in all things. -My 2 cents, Peace

I have an account on paperback swap as well. There section on spiritual/occult isn't that large but i enjoy giving my books away to people whom want them and also making room on my bookshelf. Just created an account a week ago....already shiped about 10 books and got 2. -My 2 cents, Peace

Every exercise has a certain amount of wear and tear on the body. Some exercises has more tear than others...for example lifting weights can be very hard on ones joints and many men end up tearing there rotator cuff.....running and other hard exercises such as karate also can be deteriating to the body in the long run......when were youn we don't really notice and we can afford to beat up are body in all kinds of ways. If your looking for exercises that have very low impact on the body I would suggest Tai Chi (or any other Soft martial art), swimming, Qi Gong, and Hatha Yoga. Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Hatha Yoga rejuvenate the body and result in longevity....not sure about swimming.....also I don' see anything wrong with basic push-ups and chin-ups....body-weight exercises IME have significantly less wearing effect on the body because no weight it added. -My 2 cents, Peace

Hermetic order of the Golden Dawn or any magickal order....Why is magick used?
RiverSnake replied to stefos's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
I don't know much about magic....but i can say with little reservation that this is an incorrect statement....overwhelmingly so. -My 2 cents, Peace -
Actually i don't really practice any serious kind of magic (read a lot more than anything). I am just beginning to understand it and learn the principles behind it. However, based on what i have read and heard from others is that you can use other peoples sigil's successfully........but if you plan to go into magic in any big way and establish a personal practice one should eventually find there own sigils through inner journeying and making inner contacts. But that's just my amateur perspective. -My 2 cents, Peace
