My particular understanding is that by meditating on the LDT you will slowly transmute the energies of your body (Jing, Chi, Shen) and slowly but surely clear out the blockages in your body and "Open" all of your "Centres". Ofcourse this takes years to do.....best of luck. -My 2 cents, Peace

Why are there fewer women than men in search of Enlightenment and Freedom from Samsara?

My experience has been the opposite. Women are much more drawn to religion and "belief" than men....whether this is a good thing or not i don't know, however psychologically and sociologically this has been proven. However, in regard to actual spiritual cultivation and really putting some serious time on the cushion on a daily basis and letting go of yourattachemnts.......there are not many people whom are willing to do this anyways....so i don't think discriminating between the sexes really even matters....you have either come out of the allusion that mundane existence will full-fill you or you haven't. As a side note i am taking a class on Intro to Jainism...for those that don't know Jainism is a Shramanic religion of Ascetics in India, they are as Hardcore as it gets. In the religion there are more women ascetics than men....also all of my teachers are Jain ascetics and are also women. -My 2 cents, Peace -

Your recommended techniques and methods for controlling sexual urges?

Thanks snowmonki. Aside from my initial post there are a lot of gems/experiences sprinkled throughout the pages thanks to the contributions of others. Definitely worth a read. -My 2 cents, Peace -
Interesting taoiseasy. I am curious in your experience what foods are best for balance between Jing and Qi interaction? In my understanding of TCM they say to eat lots of Neutral foods (Grains) because they support the stomach which has a domino effect on producing health in the rest of the organs. Do TCM guidlines also assist in balancing one's energies in the same way you are referring to it? -My 2 cents, Peace

Made a post about my experiences with doing the 100 days of Semen Retention awhile ago. You may find some value in it. Also +1 to snowmonki's post. If your doing retention you need something to channel all that energy into. http://thetaobums.co...emen retention -My 2 cents, Peace. -
Hey taoiseasy, you mention about eating and having food in your stomach as a neccesity when cultivating. Does this man that when fasting for spiritual purposes that you should not practice any kind of energy work? -My 2 cents, Peace

Made this post awhile back...it is the most throrough analysis and well presented explanation of Karma i have ever found. Enjoy. http://thetaobums.com/topic/21731-karma-destiny-and-mastering-your-life/ -My 2 cents, Peace

Ah man!!....Tibetan Ice beat me to the punch. Was gonna mention the charging of water as well...however atleast i can talk about my experiences with it. I was taught to use intent in order to charge your food or water at every meal with whatever "wish" you would like....i simply use "Balance" given its all encompassing context. However, others use "Health", "Good Digestion"....etc From my experiences with using "Balance" i have found that: 1. Your food tastes better 2. Digestion is smoother 3. It seems like the body removes waste quicker....because i have noticed if i don't mix i food properly (Trophology) or i simply eat improperly i will cough up phlegm immediately the next morning. Still something i am toying with but these are my first observations after having been charging every meal i eat for the last month or two....eating a juiced up carrot right now. Also by projecting your qi into food it supposedly gets rid of any nasty Qi that was laying around in your dish...not something i have experienced but something i have heard others talk about, there are some real horror stories from what people "see" come out of their dish. -My 2 cents, Peace

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, i imagine being a teacher has a lot of baggage tied to it.... with students always projecting there expectations and limitations on how a "Great Master" should speak, act and trim there toenails.......a path only for the brave and open-hearted. -My 2 cents, Peace

Wow cool post taoiseasy. You talk a lot about like attracts like. I was wondering....how does this affect the relationship between Student and Teacher/System/Lineage....etc Does a teacher inevitably end up teaching students that have similar personalities? Are student's attracted to certain lineages's or practices because of their own particular dispositions (bodily, emotionally, energetically...etc)? Perhaps someone might be standing in front of a teacher whom has been practicing for 50 years....yet that might not be the right system or method for that particular student? It is a topic that has always intrigued me. -My 2 cents, Peace

Indeed Viator. There are also several Reiki Hospitals in Japan. -My 2 cents, Peace

Reiki is not made up New Age crap, albeit many New Age people tend to attach themselves to it. It was originally a tradition that began in Japan. However, American practitioners went and learned the practice and brought it to the West...it is a very beneficial practice for relieving stress and some basic self-healing. I rather have reiki as a tool for self-healing than nothing at else. -My 2 cents, Peace

Also from what i have heard Kunlun is a great practice. Here is a link to Jenny Lamb's site dvd: http://www.easterninternalarts.org/

Although i do reiki and it has been very beneficial for me on a personal level....many people whom practice it are New Age idiots. Giving reiki to oneself is great and easy....giving it to others gets a bit more complicated because can pick up a lot of "sludge" from doing that for others....overall it is a nice trick to have in your tool kit, but i would say reserve using it for yourself if you don't have a teacher whom is knowledgeable and can direct you in this area....it can be a shady topic in itself. -My 2 cents, Peace

What about exercises like lifting weights, pushups...etc. Do these help with Jing production and maintain balance in the system? I know they increase testosterone production....are these two aspects in line with each other? -My 2 cents, Peace

Using Eastern spirituality to repress your individuality

Oh really??? So what happens when you die and shed this body? If you no longer have a body are you still a human being? Would you still identify yourself with the same things? -My 2 cents, Peace -
