What do you want out of your practice?
RiverSnake replied to thetaoiseasy's topic in General Discussion
Cultivation and growing as an individual is the only thing that ever really tickled my fancy. It was what was natural for me to do. However, that's not to say it is not often painful and challenging. -My 2 cents, Peace -

Suppssedly if you do practice KAPs method for 6 hrs a day over a period of 6 months you can trigger a full blown Kundalini Awakening. If your serious about pursuing that path i would reccomend taking their class. -My 2 cents, Peace -

A good meditation for attaining "High" Emotional States: http://thetaobums.com/topic/9719-dr-morriss-secret-smile-breathing-basic-kap-1-giri-for-the-tao-bumbs/page__hl__Inner%20Smile -My 2 cents, Peace -
There are two types of Intellectuals: 1. The Open 2. The Closed The Closed Intellectuals are a waste of time to talking with....humor them if you absolutely have to, but if you can just ignore them. I see plenty of threads on the TaoBums that are pits for closed off intellectuals whom denounce the esoteric arts without having any experience with it or any justification for their words besides their own cultural projections of what is and isn't true......choose your battles....there is no winning against a full cup.....talking with them is a drain and there often unconscious energetic vampires. Open Intellectuals are a joy to talk with. You can have both challenging and at the same enriching conversations with them, they are open to changing their point of views if they see some rational behind the other speakers position and welcome and adventure into unknown philosophical territory. However, i dare say there are probably more closed of ones than open. -My 2 cents, Peace

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
RiverSnake replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Not much i can say to that, except that i imagine that is up to the decision of the teacher in how he decides to share his Knowledge and Lineage. Some teachers teach for free....others charge....either way both have to find a way to make a living and feed themselves. I recall seeing one teacher on this site that was charging 4000$ dollars for a seminar.....is that teacher a fake?....I don't know........but i think it is simply up to the teacher to decide how to share his knowledge and for the student to decide whether he wishes to recieve it or not......and whether it resonates with him on a deep enough level to invest the years required in studying that art. I wish you the best of luck in your practices. My 2 cents, Peace -

That's awesome. Congrats on reaching that level of self-awareness Its obviously very important to develop a strong connection with our Higher Self and learn to listen for Wisdom as it flows. You should definitely channell some techniques for displacing or converting sick Chi to Light so you can help the patients in your practice. -My 2 cents, Peace -

Power without Wisdom is a very dangerous combination....especially in the field of esotericism. Something we as practitioners should all constantly reflect on. -My 2 cents, Peace -

Indeed, its also been my observation that the Sacral has a lot to do with socializing and wanting to go out and "connect" with others. Also on that site eclectic energies they have something called a chakra test. While probably more psychological in nature than anything else its an interesting tes to take and i have used it in the best to find out which areas of life i needed to work on. -My 2 cents, Peace

Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A

I gotta say DNB....that's all some pretty dark and creepy stuff. Its a shame when great power is not accompanied by wisdom......and magicians are ready to ply open a gateway to other worlds but are not ready to conquer their own ego. -My 2 cents, Peace- 202 replies

The best offense is a good defense: strengthen your aura through practice of Chi Kung and Meditation. People usually get themselves into a very dark place because of holes in there energy body and draw or create nasty energetic parasites for themselves. You might enjoy Michael's book. In Path Notes they talk about Auras a lot and he mentions that pink is usually a color for love and that often pregnant women will be pink. Not sure how applicable this is to a stone. Also it is my understanding based on readings (not experience) that it is good to have a failsafe when you create a thought form like tying its life to a sheet of paper or a clay statue in which you can destroy at any time and thus destroy the thought form. -My 2 cents, Peace- 202 replies

Generally what ever we are longing for we tend to fantasize about it.....look at the fantasy or the emotions you are longing for ........ remember a time in your life or situation when you were filled with those feelings be it: Joy, Friendship, Happiness....etc........ Take those emotions and circulate them through your body....bring them down the front of your body through your internal organs all the way to your feet then bring it up the back of your legs and then up the spine too the head and then bring it back to the Lower Dantian. As always make sure to bring energy back to the LDT -My 2 cents, Peace

The Taoist technique in the Inner Smile is a way of manipulating ones emotions in order to strengthen oneself energetically. The emotions being used is happiness or joy. However, we can use whatever emotions we want. When we are longing for friendship, for sex, for companionship, for love....etc.......We are longing for an external stimulus that will trigger an internal response....however if we look at the Inner Smile as a technique we can see that instead of longing for external stimulus for joy we can master are own systems to achieve those emotional states... Whatever emotion you are longing for can be achieved by taking command of your systems and stimulating them yourself rather than waiting around for external stimulus. Hope this is a clearer response. -My 2 cents, Peace

Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A
RiverSnake replied to Disabled Not Broken's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Cool post serene....I didn't know Witch's diet book was for men also. Interesting stuff. Perhaps something i will experiment with soon....though in regards to sexual energy i probably have all i need right now. ---------------------------------- I am enjoying the thread DNB. Not sure if i will practice magick anytime soon...i prefer to continue digging as deep a well as i can with my Neigong practices. Maybe in another 8 years when i have reached some kind of relative attainment with my current practices i will experiment. However, i still am very interested in studying the Western Tradition. I had a question in regards to working with the Tree through meditation. I have been simply doing fixed gaze emptiness meditations on the Tree of Life and have been meditating on 1 sphere at a time and sometimes the Tree as a whole for about 2 months now. I noticed that many practitioners reccomend flamboyant visualizations of colors an angels in accompanying one's meditations on the Sephirot...this is something that i tend to stray away from...and i feel that i "recieve" a lot from the meditations i do now.....are these colorful visualizations neccesary in one's practice? ------------------------------------------------- Also for those interested i have been listening to this podcast on itunes called the Hermetic Hour by Poke Runyon and it talks about various areas of the Western Tradition and have found it quite enjoyable. The podcasts are free and you can get them in itunes. http://www.blogtalkr...e-hermetic-hour -My 2 cents, Peace- 202 replies

Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A
RiverSnake replied to Disabled Not Broken's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
You say Chi is what makes magick work....although my depth of study is obviously not as great as yours i do not see much emphasis on storage and transmutation of Chi in the Western tradition....yet at the same time there is a larger emphasis on the occult and magick? In your view why is this so? Also what is the point of scrying outside of simple curiosity? -My 2 cents, Peace- 202 replies

I was dealing with some pretty intense longings recently. A trick i developed was to simply use my systems to generate the emotions i was longing for without the external stimuli. I simply took the emotions or situations in my imagination that triggered those emotions and circulated them in my body....it worked quite well for me. Got the idea from the Secret Smile. Not saying this is the solution to you problem...just a trick that i found effective for me. -My 2 cents, Peace

Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A
RiverSnake replied to Disabled Not Broken's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
There is a reason behind this....i pretty much do not talk about my practices to anyone (except on the TaoBums) because i know that they would just stare at me like i was idiot or just weird....in the old days you probably would just be beheaded or burned at the stake. People generally just aren't open to these types of things....this has been my experience.... I know this a common code which is talked about in Bardon...is there another reason behind this other than the possibility of being persecuted or becoming a social pariah? -My 2 cents, Peace- 202 replies

I toyed around with the Inner Smile a bit. A very enjoyable practice. Its a good trick to have in your tool kit. Don't know if you've done this already but when breaking up you should cut the energetic chord and stop thinking about your ex...otherwise it can get re-connected. -My 2 cents, Peace
