Zen And Masturbation...The Struggle!
RiverSnake replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
Geez.......people really like to complicate things. The easiest and most permanent way of getting rid of an "issue" is to simply ignore it....but at the same time "Ride the Wind Horse". By riding the wind horse i mean raising one's Vibrations. You raise the vibration of the body by practicing Chi-Gung....when you raise your awareness...old problems blow over like dust in the wind...and you wonder...."Why was i so frustrated and upset with this before?". -My 2 cents, Peace -
There are a variety of systems out there with a variety of methodology.....its important to first ask what are you looking to achieve through your practice? -My 2 cents

I went back and was reading his book again and came to this chapter. Sometimes i wonder if i am really challenging myself fully by practicing meditation and chi-gung or is my desire for the spiritual path a form of escapism. I still feel a very strong need to satisfy myself through rigorous physical exertion and challenge rather than simply through spiritual cultivation. i am looking forward to the gym tomorrow. Bump. -My 2 cents, Peace

Hmmm....your post reminded me of a time when i was fooling around with sexual energy in a very unstable way. I would masturbate and when i started to get really hot i would bring the hot energy to my lower dan tien. I ended up have a lot of strong emotional reactions to this practice and it brought up a lot of insecurities that i was not even aware of....i imagine if i kept it up i could have seriously done some damage to myself. I learned a very important lesson though...toying around with sexual energy can be quite a volatile and powerful practice, better to stick to the more stable practices that slowly pop one's spiritual cherry. -My 2 cents, Peace

Lol, there's no need to go up in flames in order to make good progress. But it seems like you are in a big hurry to have some kind of "Mystical Experience". You might want to look into a KAP seminar. Supposedly if you take their teaching methods and practice for 6 hrs a day for 6 months then you can activate your Kundalini....at least that's what i hear. No need to burn up like a moth to the flame, that serves no one, including yourself. Here's there site you can take a KAP 1 class and that will give you all the info you need: http://kundaliniawakeningprocess.com/ -My 2 cents, Peace

Lol, I think everyone has had that experience. As a man once that hot a wild Chi starts to gather in your loins its hard to come back to your center. You can no longer think straight and natures calling you to do your duty. Just sit and meditate on your LDT for awhile. I have found the closing practice that Mantak Chia gives is very effective: do 24 clock rotations and 24 counter clockwise rotations with your awareness at the LDT. -My 2 cents, Peace -
I have been a member of the Taobums for awhile and have found it to be a bit of a routine to see people come online and talk about how they were doing third eye exercises and it really screwed themselves up psychologically. I have also known one person personally whom experimented with 3rd eye meditations and had very negative experiences with it. The 3rd eye (from what i here?) is a very powerful center and should not be forced open, but from my understanding opened up naturally. When practicing cultivation it is best to have a balanced practice that is a tried and proven method for spiritual cultivation. Tibetan Ice if you know of a proven and balanced practice that focuses singularly on the 3rd Eye and ignores the rest of the body as the original poster seems to be experimenting with...then by all means you should forward that meditation to him. Tibetan Ice it seems you got the impression that were hating on the 3rd eye and saying it is a center that should be ignored...this is not the case. I am simply a fan of balanced and stable practices which build of the energies of the body and slowly open one's centers naturally without the ego saying: "Oh this center looks really cool lets open it!"...crack!!...bad shit happens as many people have testified to. -My 2 cents, Peace

I disagree with this, people of high energy can affect people with low energy without their consent. Though it is a very very shady thing to do. -My 2 cents, Peace

jago25_98: you can use sexual energy for other things besides sex. I conserve my sexual energy and channel it into all other areas of my life including Working Out and the Expansion of Consciousness. When you are full of energy you don't need a reason to motivate yourself, your so full of energy your automatically motivated and need to go out and DO! -My 2 cents, Peace

When you are doing meditations which consciously circulate energy in the body (Microcosmic Orbit)...some people decide not to bring the energy back to the LDT (which you are suppose to do), when you leave energy in other parts of the body that are not capable of storing the excess....it causes lots of problems. -My 2 cents, Peace

Good post Taoiseasy.

A trick i learned from my neigong practice which really helped with retention was simply to keep your awareness on your LDT throughout the day as best you can. I have found this helps a lot. -My 2 cents, Peace

I was just re-reading through Ya Mu's book recently and found this excerpt that may shed some light on this: "A FACT that i want to share is this: If you practice your qigong daily while centering your awareness on your Dan Tian, your energy will rise and NATURALLY open each energy center WHEN IT IS THE CORRECT TIME FOR DOING SO! Nothing else is needed! Never try to artificially open these centers." A Light Warriors Guide to High Level Energy Healing by Michal Lomax -My 2 cents, Peace

My understanding is that you can go pretty far in your practice with Basic techniques such as the Microcosmic Orbit and Inner Smile. However, it is also my understanding that one's process of growth can at times get very rocky and difficult and it is the teacher that helps smooth out the path and guide the student away from pitfalls. Either way, in the end it is best to learn to listen and follow your intuition. While teachers will often help you in an energetic way....they cannot give you wisdom, learning to listen to your deeper roots rather than the intellect and the emotions is very important and will help you in ways a physical teacher cannot. -My 2 cents, Peace

You have receive a lot of good advice from many people. I'll just say this: I have not personally gone through "K".....however my understanding is that knowing when to "SURRENDER" is a very important virtue in this area. If what kevincann says is true and that it's too late to stop your "K"...then my understanding is that if you continue to resist the process then you are going to put yourself through an enormous amount of unnecessary pain and suffering. -My 2 cents, Peace

I notice there is a tendency of many "smart people" to want to jump straight to the higher centers without first building a foundation. Whether this is a good idea is highly debatable. -My 2 cents, Peace

Stillness Movement Neigong and Michael Lomax's 'Light Warrior's Guide' Book
RiverSnake replied to mjjbecker's topic in General Discussion
Hey Ya Mu, lately on the forum there has been a bit of talk about how ejaculation while practicing certain neigong systems such as the Mopai system can hurt you physically and also "hurt your dantien"....is this something that is at all relevant within the system you teach? I know in your book you teach a method of pulling sexual energy back to the dantien, is this something that can only be done with a partner? Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions. -My 2 cents, Peace
