Can't say i can give any good advice since i haven't had any similar experiences. All i can say is when i lack the right knowledge in certain situations or am feeling futile i pray for life to guide me. Simple prayer i use: "To the Beings of Light... thank you for Guiding me on the path that will be most fruitful. Thank you for showing me the road to peace, love and happiness." -You can edit and create any prayer you like. IMO the most important thing is the sincerity in your heart and the spirits you say that you wish to invoke: "Beings of Light" has always worked for me. -My 2 cents, Peace

Does Chi Kung compliment all martial arts?
RiverSnake replied to Unseen_Abilities's topic in General Discussion
Martial Arts and life in general comes from the Body, Mind, Emotions and Energy. Chi Kung helps refine and improve on these systems...as a result you will have better everything including Martial Arts -
Confidence practice instead of Well-being practice

Let go of Confidence. Let go of Insecurity. Approach all of life with Beginners Mind. -My 2 cents, Peace -
Mantak Chia's teachings got a bad rap because in his books on Sexual Alchemy he left out some critical tips that lead to a lot of people getting hurt through his practices. Some teachers would ague that such practices should not be put in a book but be reserved for a 1:1 teacher:student basis. Many people feel that publishing such a book was hazardous without the direct instruction of a teacher. However, i think his book does have some very genuine insights, i actually began with Mantak Chia and it led me into the esoteric arts. Many teachers shun his works while other authors such as Glenn Morris in Path Notes praise his work for its clarity and depth. If you read his reviews on amazon many people have been successful with his methods while others have been injured through imporoper usage of the practices and risks that are not highlighted enough in the book. -My 2 cents, Peace

Nobody wants you to be free, not even your family or your lover
RiverSnake replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
The process of Meditation or Cultivation means that you are slowly erasing the limitations that used to bind your being via negative thoughts, emotional blockages...etc -People in groups often get along because they have common limitations. At school you often see the EMO kids hanging out with each other and the Black or Asian kids all at one table. IMO this is because they common limitations. Culture, Family and the sociological environment we grow up in often define our limitations. However, when we start Cultivation you will find that the people whom you were once close to will begin to feel like strangers to you, you can no longer talk to them about everything because you have grown beyond them. I once read on this forum that someone whom was married ended up getting divorced because after meditating he became to different from his wife and they no longer had anything in common. To make my point, when you walk around with less limitations your Friends, Family, and Lovers will feel insecure because you know that you can be happy with out them (and they can feel this) and you're very energy threatens the attachments they have to you. As a result they will often unconsciously and unsuccessfully try and put their limitations on you due to their own insecurity or they will just stop hanging out with you. IMO Parents and Children often butt heads because the parents want kids to conform like good soldiers and try to put the limitations they are comfortable with on the children. However, kids don't feel like being set in stone just yet and want to go out and play life. -Don't get me wrong: Friends and lovers are important, but you gotta find some with a similar vibe otherwise just like everywhere else in society you gotta put on a mask so you can blend in with sheep-herd. -My 2 cents, Peace -
Looking for Taoist wisdom on Commitment of Journey
RiverSnake replied to Everything's topic in General Discussion
"The Great Way is not difficult for those who have no preferences. When love and hate are both absent everything becomes clear and undisguised. Make the smallest distinction, however, and heaven and earth are set infinitely apart. If you wish to see the truth then hold no opinions for or against anything. To set up what you like against what you dislike is the disease of the mind. When the deep meaning of things is not understood the mind's essential peace is disturbed to no avail." -
Its cool to see that there are posts i as of yet am not at a level where i can under stand whats being said.

Finding difficulty understanding "Religious" Taoism.
RiverSnake replied to Nihro's topic in Daoist Discussion
Hmm...IMO the most important line in the whole Tao Te Ching is the first one: "The Tao that can be known is not the Tao." Religions can be known, written, and pinned down. The only reason i consider myself a Daoist is because Daoism at its core does not require you to put your flag in the sand or to become an "organized sport" or buy into certain beliefs...IMO the Dao expresses itself in infinite forms across all cultures...each has a piece but the whole can never be contrived. However, the overwhelming majority of people are uncomfortable with the unknown, the uncertain, that which cannot be known or written down...thus religious Taoism comes into play so that people have something tangible..."a home" to wrap their own limitations around. I am really enjoy this thread. Some real good insights. -My 2 cents, Peace -
Truth a burden? If there is anything in my life be it Thoughts, Emotions, Objects, or People...and they are not helping me live a Blissful and more enlightened life...then i drop them like a bad habit. The only burden is our attachments. Truth IME is actually quite blissful. -My 2 cents, Peace

Besides my regular Chi-Gung and Martial practices i have been practicing a bit of Deity Yoga as of late. -I intent myself as a being of light filled with pure healing and blissful white light engrossing me and everything around. I intent my personal deity, you can use any diety from any tradition or simply create a personal guru for yourself, i personally use Jesus because he's a healer and then i merge myself with him completely, often i'll become small and fall into his heart chakra and become filled with bliss. -Usually triggers a lot of tears. It has been very powerful for me. Peace

Different ways of describing Emptiness
RiverSnake replied to Seth Ananda's topic in Buddhist Discussion
It is my understanding that emptiness or void is the same thing as openness. When we practice Chi-Kung or meditation we are working on opening channels within are body and mind. -When we open all the channels in our body we literally become emptiness or void because nothing is stuck and energy flows freely like wind in a tunnel. Thus we become at one with the world and with each breath the whole universe around us can freely flow through our blood and being without the friction of ego. -Of course this is all theory, i have yet to experience this for myself. But it makes sense to me. -
I am not an expert at controlling Chi flow by any means. If you should actually try to control it is another question in itself. -However, i believe there is an old Daoist saying: "Where intent goes energy flows." -My 2 cents, Peace

People say there are so many fake gurus or teachers out there, but in all honesty i have never studied under any or run into any. Perhaps i just never attracted them to me or perhaps it was just luck. Just my experience i guess.

It is my understanding that Michael William Denney has over 20 years of practice and study in the Shamanic and Esoteric Arts. Has published several books on the subject and currently is using his knowledge to revive ancient Teutonic Cultural and Energetic practices. Equated in modern education you could say Michael has a Doctorate in his area of study. He is an expert in his field and has used his knowledge in order to benefit others. Scotty on the other hand...although i do not know his level of involvement in the esoteric arts has probably practiced for a couple of years and perhaps dabbled in the practicing of a variety of disciplines (much like myself). He is a high-school or elementary student whom is just beginning to understand this area of study, his opinions may have some degree of validity (as all do) however, they by no means undermine 5ETs history of practice or discredit him as a Teacher. 5ET has been consistent in his views and practices throughout the time i have been here (i am sure many will agree) and has shown no actions that would lead me or anyone else to believe that Scotty's accusations of him being a fraud have even and atom of truth in them. I simply believe this whole thing is simply a clashing of emotions and ego and is utterly stupid and has been taken too far. Furthermore 5ET i think it is silly for you to leave because one goober behind a computer screen criticized your teachings. Suck it up and make a thread systematically disproving Scotty's slander as i am sure you can, i think leaving is a mistake. Furthermore I have always enjoyed your posts and the level of insight that you bring to any discussion is always palpable. I feel it is a real loss. -My 2 cents, Peace

Energy protection and Spiritual warfare
RiverSnake replied to starhawk's topic in General Discussion
Its my understanding that what attracts all negative entities is holes we have in our Auras via negative emotions and our lower vibrations. It seems to me that the best long term solution is simply to practice cultivation via Chi-Gung, Tai Chi, Meditation or whatever raises your vibration. Therefore you can cut at the root of what is attracting these entities...note this can take awhile depending on you. All the while sorting through your dirty laundry an reflecting on why you feel certain ways about yourself. -My 2 cents, Peace -
For me personally in the past and present Self Reflection has been a very powerful tool. By self reflection i mean asking yourself questions. 1. Why do i feel this way? 2. Why do i feel the need to go to India? 3. What do i expect will happen when i get there? etc.... -We have many of the answers we need it simply requires a person to be honest enough with them-self and ask the questions. -My 2 cents, peace

Indeed, i often have made plans for meditation and fasting that were formed of momentary enthusiasm. The difference is that this decision to fast came naturally, and without effort. -Thanks for all the advice guys. I am taking anamatva's advice and spacing my fasts 2 weeks apart. Just started my 2nd fast yesterday and am going for three days, Friday - Sunday. Drinking lots of warm water. I plan to come back from fasting this time a bit more slowly with maybe some hot soup. I have no desire to yack again. -Peace

Cut my head off for saying so...but this guy looks like he just came out of The Matrix. Seems like he's playing on some social archetype of being a bad ass to pull some lost sheep...or maybe i am wrong and he is a great cultivator. Who knows?
