  1. Qigong sucks!

When i started doing Chi Kung i got that pain in my forehead as well. It was really annoying but tolerable, the first day was the worst and then i got used to it. I even made a post about it. However, maybe you experienced something different. http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/14514-my-third-eye-was-going-crazy/page__hl__My%20Third%20eye%20is%20going%20crazy -I was practicing ZZ from the book the Way of Energy: it's about as simple as it gets.
  2. what the *** am i?

Seems like everyone is drinking the same kool-aid "Before I studied the art, a punch to me was just like a punch, a kick just like a kick. After I learned the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick no longer a kick. Now that I've understood the art, a punch is just like a punch, a kick just like a kick." Bruce Lee
  3. what the *** am i?

Yeah, if you look hard enought you can see the dualities within everything: the good in the bad, the emptiness within the full and vice versa. Thus the yin and yang thingy that seems to be so popular.
  4. Taoism - A Small Insight

I'm not "interpreting" anything just giving you an example from nature. I have no deire to argue, you seem pretty set on your own views.
  5. Taoism - A Small Insight

On the exterior of a storm it is completel chaos. But within, at the eye of the storm all is silent and peaceful.
  6. Very good intro to sitting meditation (Video)

A good intro video for sitting postures.
  7. Two sexy Iron Palm breaks

    Cool Stuff
  8. Taoism - A Small Insight

I actually just read Ya Mu's book and really enjoyed it.
  9. too much qi in the membrane

It's my understanding that you don't want to much energy to gather in the brain otherwise you can can have serious problems. -Gather the qi back to your Dantien.
  10. I found this excerpt from Daniel Reid's Complete Book of Chinese Health and Healing: Guarding the Three Treasures. Thought it was interesting. Enjoy "In some Asian traditions, such as the Tibetan, energy is often referred to as speach. That's because speech expends a tremendous amount of breath and energy, and unless ot comes out in the form of mantras, chants, or prayers, speech is usually undisciplined, uneven, and often unnecessary. The 'motor mouth' syndrome which seems to infect many people in crowded urban environments exhausts energy reserves and can actually lower resistance and impair immunity. As the Tao master and martial artist Chang San-feng said 600 years ago: 'Forget about words and your energy won't scatter.' The Taoist adept and writer Liu I-ming agrees: 'When the mouth speaks, energy scatters.' 'Unless you have something important to say, it's always best to keep your lips buttoned because idle gossip and marathon monologues are like leaking tyres: they permit you energy to escape and leave you flat. Silence is an effective way to conserve energy for more important internal uses. An ancient Chinese adage says: 'Disease comes through the mouth; disaster come out through the mouth.' The first is obvious: open mouths invite germs, dust, and airborne toxins to enter our own personal systems. The second cause refers to the fact that we often create our own personal disasters by talking too much and too carelessly, thereby offending others, revealing things about ourselves that would be better kep secret, making bad impressions on people, and so forth. So choose your words careful, speak softly, and don't say anymore than necessary." -So the next time some one tells you to shut say "thank you". -Peace
  11. Taoism - A Small Insight

I've been reading some Franz Bardon (Initiation into Hermetics) and one thing he says is that in order to achieve, wisdom must be balanced with knowledge. Knowledge comes from earth and wisdom comes from heaven. -I believe this concept has some merit to it. -Very beautiful video, nice scenery. I would like to go hiking in the mountains of China.
  12. Silence is Golden...So shut up

    I disagree
  13. Helping others

Yeah, you probably have alot of energetic blockages in your body. Meditation and Chi Kung is good for flushing and letting go of that stuff. You might want to also consider seeing a healer. Good luck, the juice is definetly worth the squeeze.
  14. Helping others

Yeah,i heard Chi Kung can be dangerous if you don't have a teacher, but you had a teacher and were experiencing pain! Chi Kung is meant as a tool for improving health, this makes me question the credibility of your teacher. -Also i am broke as well, and can not afford a teacher so i practice Zhang Zhuang: which is so simple it's ridiculous and can be easily learned from a book. You only need 20 minutes a day to practice and there are no health dangers of doing ZZ, it's completely safe. -The book i use is the Way of Energy by Master Lam Kam Chuen.
  15. Helping others

If you yourself can't see the forest because of the trees then you cant be someone elses guide through the wilderness. -Work on growing your own energy and your own powers of self-awareness.(this is a life-long and never-ending process). -When you grow your energy and cultivate peace and happiness you benefit everyone you come in contact with. Yo do without doing. -Through a simple smile one can shine a light into the lives of others.
  16. Helping others

In what sense are you helping someone? Emotionally, physically...etc -In my opinion, I would say that in order to see a problem correctly and solve a situation you're awareness must greater than that of a problem. -I think the best way to help someone is to help them increase there own awareness so that they can see and solve the problem for themselves...via reiki, Chi Kung, meditation...etc -However, helping is a two way street. It must first be accepted.
  17. There be Dragons

It truly is a blessing to have friends you can talk and share your practices with. Cool stuff.
  18. It's cool to know there are powerful healers out there.

  19. -When people are being attacked they call out for help or call 911. -When people are depressed they go to a psychologist or go talk to a good friend. -When people want to know about Taoism they can read a book. -When people want to learn Chi Kung they find a teacher. -When people are hungry they make a nice meal for themselves or go find some food. -When people need money they find a job. -When people are sick they find a doctor or a healer. It's not the other way around, the meal doesn't make itself nor does the teacher ask the student. Seek and you shall find, not find and you shall seek. People are very capable when motivation comes from within. -When you give people advice they didn't ask for it's a waste of time, don't make a meal for someone when their not hungry.
  20. -What i mean for "should" is the flow of life. If you let things happen they often take care of themselves, when you worry and sweat over something you're usually just wasting your time. Take the proper action you feel necessary and then let your fruit ripen. -I stand by my second statement. If someones gonna commit suicide and is determined to end their life there's nothing you can do about it (short of putting them in a strait jacket) unless they have an underpinning desire for your help. I'm sure any healer will tell you something similar. -And to your last statement: Everyone has there own burdens in life to bear, it is no individuals responsibility to carry other peoples issues on their shoulder, we all are leaders in our own lives, to try and be another persons trail guide without an invitation i believe is a dis-service to the individual. The best thing in my opinion any individual can do for themselves is look within for the proper guide.
  21. -Things often happen as they should. -You cannot help others who do not want to be helped, period, end of story. -Put your focus on your own cultivation. You will find enough challenges to be thrown your way.
  22. Dream Recording Benefits

I'm almost finsihed reading Dreamscape and have also been recording my dreams for the last couple of days. -Was wondering if anyone who records dreams would be willing to share their experiences and the benefits that they recieved from recording and interpreting their dreams?
  23. Dream Recording Benefits

Thanks for all the input fellas.
  24. Bruce Vance has some interesting ideas on this area of study. You can buy his book online for a couple bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Dreamscape-Voyage-Alternate-Reality-Quest/dp/0835606481/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1279287552&sr=1-1
  25. Gulf Oil Spill & Continuous Outpour

This mimics my feelings toward this subject. I greatly enjoyed this video. I feel it is time for bold action on the side of the populace and politicians.
