I've been a vegetarian for extended periods of time and also eaten meat for extended periods of time. Both paths have there utility. Vegetarian diets help you be lighter energetically, psychically more sensitive and also are easier on the digestive system (generally, unless you eat grains/lots of carbs). Supposedly you also generate less karma on a vegetarian diet...that being said you need karma to stay alive. Thankfully most of us are well supplied. Eating meat is important for staying heavy and grounded, if your overly psychic and don't know how to handle it this can be beneficial. That way you won't get bulldozed by every bit of psychic dirt that hits you. If your doing intense physical exercise meat supplies much needed energy that is much more difficult to get from a vegetarian diet. Meat among other foods can be a valuable source of Jing for cultivation and healing. My practice has gone in cycles, sometimes being vegetarian sometimes not. People are different, and go through periods where they need different things. Observe your results and come to your own conclusions.

RiverSnake replied to Veezel's topic in General Discussion
The Tao is not a father figure in the sky labeling things as good and bad. That is what most religious seems to be nowadays. You are part of the Tao. Be true to your own Nature and you will flow in harmony with the Way. -

It is quite a sad and difficult process......leaving friends behind. I have had to do this many times as I've continued to transform on deeper and deeper levels. It's a natural part of cultivation. When you transform so do your external circumstances. Nowadays I only have one close friend whom I meet with regularly.

Would you like to help me define my, "Definite Cheif Aim"?
RiverSnake replied to DreamBliss's topic in General Discussion
To further elaborate on this point. Buddhist practitioners often make a vow to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings. This is a principle and vow that shifts your life trajectory and the vector of your spiritual growth thus aligning you with certain powers. The point behind this (one of many im sure) is to harmonize your path with an underlying virtues principle/intent so you can bypass obstacles (egotistical cravings, power trips...etc). This principle of attuning ones actions to a "noble force" can be applied to any thing (money, love....etc), it just takes deep insight. -

Exercises such as chi kung circulates and alchemizes sexual energy. This makes it easier to handle the excess, also working with trees allows a healthy outlet.

Would you like to help me define my, "Definite Cheif Aim"?
RiverSnake replied to DreamBliss's topic in General Discussion
To clarify the previous post I made....Ive noted in my own life that specific goals change over time as we evolve. But underlying principles that are important to us may never change and can be deep and powerful trajectories life after life. So in that context, my goals are to expand my personal reservoir of Wisdom, Power, Knowledge and continue having fun and playing. -

Death is important, don't shun it as something evil. That will just create more obstacles for your path. -
