Kundalini, cannabis and cocaine. help!
RiverSnake replied to Katastral's topic in General Discussion
You may consider going into a drug treatment program or support group. Wu chi posture (chi kung standing) may be quite beneficial. Lam cam Chuen has some great videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y07FauHYlmg -
I can dig it. Thanks Zero.

Kundalini and Tummo are completely different topics. But here's a link to some useful articles/videos on the topic of kundalini. http://www.kundaliniawakeningprocess.com/blog/videos-about-kundalini

It is my understanding that in many forms of Vedic training there is an emphasis on intentionally "spinning" ones energy centers. What is the purpose of this? I would appreciate some experienced practitioners insights. My 2 cents, Peace

Heard a Disturbing Story about Max Christensen
RiverSnake replied to Thea Fortuna's topic in General Discussion
Interesting story. Also I would agree, it's a very crude way of working with the dead. You shouldn't need to dig up a body to have a chat.- 52 replies

There are many ways to trigger ecstatic and blissful states. But from my experience the core of it seems to involve developing increased sensitivity to energies as well as loosening the boundaries of "self" that we cling so strongly to. To be fair, i've found that Bliss is wonderful, but inner Peace and Self-Knowledge are of much deeper value, so kudos to you. In honesty I don't think one can handle Bliss maturely without a degree contentment and self-awareness....otherwise it can become a serious trap...it can hinder versus help you towards pure freedom...but if you got that handled then it's all groovy. Best of luck in your travels.

Lerner, to be honest I'm surprised you haven't achieved this by now? How regular and intensive is your practice? Bliss is a natural expression of ones being, I'm not there all the time, but it comes and goes as it pleases. Results come to those whom train daily and diligently. There is no magick pill.

Another cool trick I've used for awhile is to practice S-M with house plants. This is great if you don't live in an area with lots of greenery or near a park(concrete jungle)...you just stand in your living room and practice Plant-Gong. Also plants are good for clearing the space (Feng Shu) in your house and recycling air pollutants. It's a win-win and while practicing outside is better I definitely feel that I get a very similar benefit from practicing with plants that I do with trees. Enjoy.

A BEST Kyokushin Manual/Book - advice?
RiverSnake replied to Unseen_Abilities's topic in General Discussion
As you evolve energetically and spiritually the way you express your martial technique will evolve. Keep practicing internal work along with your martial pursuits....as you refine your essence so will your martial expression gain subtlety and efficiency. Best of luck. -
Hey Michael, thanks for the insights. I still let my body move with the chi in the way it wants to while doing this and it does tend to follow the pattern you mentioned. There is something very cool about the upward motion, like sudden spirals of chi ascending, it's quite invigorating. Will keep playing. Many thanks again for the insights.

Little trick i have been having a lot of fun with in my Tree-Gong. Horse-stance Tree-Gong. Something about doing those low postures seems to stimulate centers in the feet and shoot chi up the leg channels (atleast that's my observation so far), so things can get nice and hot. Sitting in horse stance, awareness and hands on LDT, while connecting with the tree. Lot of fun, lots of water and great if your also into IMA training like myself. Hope this is of value to some, will keep playing with it myself.

Mysteries of the Life Force: Apprenticeship with a Chi Kung Master
RiverSnake posted a topic in Group Studies
If your interested in Chi-Gung and enjoying reading about the paths of others then pick up this book. I read the whole book in a day and enjoyed it thoroughly. http://www.amazon.com/Mysteries-Life-Force-Apprenticeship-Master/dp/1591810558/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1310152520&sr=1-1 -
Anytime is a good time too practice. Just listen to your body. The Lower Dantien is an energetic center in the body located below the navel and inside the body. There is a great deal of emphasis in Taoist practices on working with this center. It is considered the center responsible for the storage and transmutation of vital energy (chi). If this is a center you wish to work with then put your awareness on that center and meditate on it. That simple. Also it's beneficial to put your hands on top of the surface of the skin below the navel (usually right over left) in this type of meditation.

Never heard of the teacher, but his books look like there quite good. I read the summary of his "The Art of Chi Kung" book. It says that the book "guides you through a series of chi kung exercises which you can learn from and practice at home." I assume that is the book your reading by him? I have not practiced the Small Wheel meditation, but it seems very similar to meditating on the Lower dantien, which is a very beneficial practice. Try it out for a 100 days daily and see what results you get. Experience is the best teacher.

Norse Mythology by Kevin Crossley Holland is also an excellent modern rendition of the myths.
