Had some recent experiences this year that I'd like to share regarding working with ones HGA. I've heard from a variety of practitioners that Angels or Higher Beings tend to be better in working the "Big PIcture" in any particular Magick.....but are not as adept at handling the minutiae or specifics of a situation. I've experienced this in very intense ways in the last year. When you ask your HGA to help you with short term mundane things.....it tends to take the stance of: "You know what......your really holding yourself back....you have the power to accomplish this objective on your own.....you just need the right "incentive to get past those self imposed limitations. So what I'm going to do is start stacking the coals under your ass and set them ablaze until you get moving." My experience has been that when the coals start cooking you have no choice but to explode past whats blocking you like a cork shooting out of a champagne bottle. You either explode into newness or fall into depression, futility and stagnation until you get your ass in gear. I've heard similar experiences from many practitioners....anyone else have any funny stories of getting there asses kicked by Angels?

The question in the title is flawed. What's yin and what's yang? There is no such thing, there are relative gradiations of yin and yang. You can only grade by comparison. Water is Yang compared to Ice. Fire is yin compared to the heat of the sun....its relative and one is within the other. -

Can't help but love these guys. I think they exemplify a lot of characteristics that you should look for in True Practitioners: Sense of Humor, Unpretentious, and Knowing they don't know everything. Enjoy -

I have done Bardon's Black and White mirror exercise twice....and I have always found it to be quite Insightful and thought provoking, however recently I came to up with the idea to do my soul mirrors via utilizing the Tarot. I drew 3 cards which reflected my most important negative attributes and 3 cards which reflected my most positive attributes, I imagine if one wanted to do a full reading of his personality he might draw 10 cards for each side. I have only done it once and have found it to be a very useful technique for self reflection and analysis (after all that's what the Tarot is for) and thought I would share it with the forum. Not sure if anyone else has used this approach before, just something that intuitively came to me. I personally like using the cards more than the methods that Bardon suggests of sheer self analysis because a single Tarot card (symbols in general) can speak volumes about you as a person and help harness both our conscious and subconscious powers and bring forth gems for our enrichment. If anyone tries it feel free to post your thoughts, I would be very interested to hear your experiences. Anyways, hope this technique is useful for others. My 2 cents, Peace

A technique ive began using in my soul mirror practice that has a similar cord cutting effect of the Sedona is the Buddhist Insight practice of "Noting". Every time a thought comes up or I have an experience that dilutes my focus I just say "Noted" or "Note".....as in saying I acknowledge this/you....etc....and then let it go immediately. I remember picking up this technique many years ago when I first started and it was quite powerful....but for whatever reason it's come back into my sphere and am applying it in this fashion. The practice has a very similar effect to counting thoughts with males beads, just without the physical beads and it can be done on the go....that is if you have developed that level of clarity in daily life. I've gone through an enormous variety of core blockages with Divining Negative traits with cartomancy and I've also had tons of success with using Sedona to burn through overarching negative patterns. This noting technique seems to be diving into the finer nitty gritty particulars of the mind and burning through psychological fragmentation in ones daily on the go life. A practice well worth it's salt. http://www.insightmeditationcenter.org/books-articles/articles/mental-noting/

Had some pretty cool experiences recently while spontaneously experimenting with the dhayana mudra. I was really quite impressed with the power and flow of energy it generated…..yet i barely even noticed it in my earlier periods of practice when i experimented a lot with this stuff. I was wondering does anyone know any good Mudra for enhancing ones ability in dreamwork, lucid dreaming, remembering dreams….etc. I would appreciate any pointers. Also i do a bit of Mala work….which naturally takes up one hand. Are there any effective one handed mudras that compliment mala work, and if so what are there effects. Any valid advice wold be much appreciated. My 2 cents, Peace

The Secret Smile is a very powerful technique existing in many systems. http://thetaobums.com/topic/9719-dr-morriss-secret-smile-breathing-basic-kap-1-giri-for-the-tao-bumbs/?hl=%20glenn%20%20morris -
Drinking a lot more water and waking up during the night to drink more has been taking most of the burnout from the practice. Still wake up a bit thirsty, but it's negligable in comparison to before. One thing I've noticed is that because I put my glass of water above me on the window cill where i sleep, when I wake up during the night to drink I can't help but notice the water seems to be highly charged. Likely because it's so close to where I'm sleeping. The effects of drinking S-M water while practicing S-M sleeping. Some interesting Water Fu.

True Grimoire has been calling out to me for awhile. Some kind of resonance there. Hmmm.....thanks for the recommendations. When I'm ready I'm sure I'll get a copy.

Hahhaaa Bagua you left pawed rascal. Yes I'm familiar with Huson but have yet to had the pleasure of reading his work. Has quite the diabolical reputation. First heard of the book through several articles on each chapter over at the Used Key. http://usedkey.wordpress.com/2011/10/24/we-make-a-start-the-introduction/ Yet to do so, still just gently dipping my toe in these waters. Thanks for the reccomendations. Very cool Seth. Glad to hear there is so much fat to soak up in the TW area. Looking forward to furthering and deepening my study.

Recently read through another chapter of Serpent Songs....not to kind of book you run through. It's for sure deepening my interest in Tradtional Craft. Knew about him for awhile but I'm finally gonna pick up a copy of Artissons "Letters from the Devils Forest". Looks awesome. Thanks for the thread Seth.

Hey slippy, aside from my other recommendations, the only thing I'd say is to start developing a relationship with your HGA. You can do this with simple daily prayer. It will guide you to where you need to go and the methods best for you......if you ask. There is a thread on it in this section. Best of luck. -

Hmmm....when I referred to alchemical systems I made references to actual practices like chi kung and inner heat (tummo). The idea behind internal alchemy is refining the energies of the body from the gross to the subtle as well as circulating energy through the actual body and dissolving energetic blockages. You say there are similar methodologies in western systems. Not only similar, but superior. Could you please give some mention of these methodologies so that I could do my own research? I would be most interested to look into them. Aside from work by Christopher Bradford I've yet to hear of any mention of internal alchemical traditions that are specifically Western systems. My experience of the Western Tradition has been a heavy emphasis on spellwork, talismans, working with spirits, elemental Magick, trance/visionary work and ritualistic practice. All of which has its place, but is not specifically inter-alchemical its approach. -

Although this is the occult discussion section, as your core practice i would highly recommend some kind of inter-alchemical practice(Chi-Kung, Inner Heat,....etc), raising your vibration and purification are of most importance....IMO. These are practices that IME, are sorely lacking in the Western Tradition. -

There are many online courses abound, here's a few of them and I'm sure people will list more. One thing I'd recommend is doing a divination to see what each course offers you and consider for yourself what your actually looking for. Saves you time and money. Also IMO, there's nothing wrong with books, they are quite complimentary to practice and expanding ones horizons of whats out there. But if all you do is read and no practice.....then that's a problem, don't get stuck in Hod. http://www.inominandum.com/blog/ http://www.quareia.com/#main http://www.magicalexperiments.com http://headforred.blogspot.com -
