The blogger said SHO opens naturally when the practitioner is able to sit still in full lotus with a focused shen for several hours.(Vajrasattva, please, dont come with the "hoarse shite" here )

You ask so difficult questions!!! If we were to really an hounestly pounder that question we would have to doubt the sturcture of our whole reality, we would have to shake the ground and jump into nothingness and be totally and utterly alone in existence. I almost dont think it is possible because survival instinct is so strong that we instantly will make another subjective universe to land safely in. We jump from one illusion to the next. (oh no, this is the same answer I gave the last time ) I dont think anyone, with an ability to self-reflect, is able to say that what they see is pure objectivity and truth without any trace of subjectivity. But ofcource, without the ability to self-reflect, there is not other possibility than to believe that what you see is objectivity...

haha, I dont know if it classifies as "close to enlightenment", but atlest your on your way!!! But yea, truth sucks...

If you're not amazed at how naive you were yesterday, you are standing still. If you're not terrified of the next step, your eyes are closed. If you're standing still and your eyes are closed, then you're dreaming that you're awake. A caged bird in a boundless sky. -Jed McKenna

Im just interested in how the taoists view these things, what the taoist names means. And to do that, I need my intellect. I do that only when Im not meditation though Thanks for answering.

I got really startled the first time I talked to my guide. I didnt expect it to be such a clear communication and I got really frightened when I clearly heart his voice in my head. And it forced me to change my whole world view. But after a while you get used to it. There are guides everywhere, guides for any level of consciousness, all around us. Its just a litt startling the first times we experience that level of reality. To me, now, Its just like any other conversation, only it goes parallel to my regular conversations But one tip to make shure that the ones you meet are there to help, is to keep your heart and intensions pure. Be hounest with your self, wish the best for your self and others, be sincere and true. And FEEL safe, the more safe you feel, the more you will attract guides that keep you safe Before you go into meditation, enter that room in your self where you feel safe and looked after. If you compare the numbers of "positive"(if we can use such dualistic thinking) guides to the number of negative ones, the negative ones are outnumberd by the millions. There is not much to be afraid of really, other than our own fear, hahaha.

Spectrum, or anyone, culd you please explin the state of sung? What is the que to know that we have reached that state? When I do meditation, after 5-10 minutes I notice a shift. My breath gets steady and doesent get affected by the thoughts. Its like its turned around. First my thoughts affects my breath. If I remember things that excite me my breath gets a little more excited. But after the shift it is the breath that affects the thoughts, calming them. Its like instead of a upward spiral, it has turned to a downward spiral where both breath and thoughts go more and more into meditation. Is this sung?

Yes, stillness meditation Stillness meditation generally balances out anything. When you are still and silent, the body and mind activates its own innate intelligence. An intelligence that knows hellofalot more than we know. The body knows exactly what to do with the energy, you just have to be silent and let the body do its job without interference. Visualization, energywork and things like that can be good for healing, but can also be very destructive if its not done correctly. If you keep a stillness meditation practice at the side, you will most of the time know if your energywork is getting unbalanced or not.

Nothing happens only because the mind is too active wih its illusion to see what really happens. Just continue to breathe slow and natural, be silent and aware. A whole new reality is there, in the silence. You cant get there with visualization, will or hardly even intention. Only silence. Its about wu wei, to act with out acting. You get there only when you dont try to get there. But once youre there, it is everything else but boring
-
Haha, here we go again My advice is still... stillness meditation. And keep at it for a long time with no visualization or guiding. Not one or two weeks, but months. It might be boring, but lets face it, healing takes time. And... get a teacher or a therapist that can help you. This is the way to go if you want to heal. But if you still want to experiement with things you read from books you just have to get used to feeling messed up energetically. And that is ok if you want that. Sooner or later you will get the urge to get things right anyways

Im not shure how your experience was(maby you can post a link to it?), but usually it is not dangerous at all. Some people, like myself, get afraid that I might loose my body and never come back if I go too far from my body. Or that the sivercord gets cut. Things like that. There is a lot we can imagine to be afraid of. Well, after a while my experience told me otherwise. Its not dangerous to have experiences. Its not dangerous to have breakthroughs either. My first experience like that was that I couldnt move my body. My first reaction was just interest. I tried all I could but my arm wouldnt move. I was in a complete different state. I even opened my eyes but still couldnt move my arm. But when I realized this I got so afraid I jumped ut of bed and ran out of the room to watch some tv. The tv made me feel safe, hahaha. It was a complete dooropener for me. Since then Ive been dedicated to meditation and the study of consciousness. As for all the dagerous stuff thats on "the other side", there can be dagerous stuff there, yes, but the same dangerous stuff is "here". So if you are noe afraid here and now, there is nothing to be afraid of "over there either". But...reckless experimenting with OBE, careless and ruthless and overdoing it, that can be dangerous. Normal OBE-like experiences that comes from meditation, lucid dreaming and just practicing awareness in every moment and every state of mind is NOT dangerous Anyways, its allways a good advice to have a teacher

When I started learning meditation i usually did it lying down before going to sleep. I had the same experience that you explained. I got so afraid I jumped out of bed and ran out to the living room to watch tv and pretend everything was normal. But its nothing to be afraid of. Just keep being aware and awake during the experience, dont force anything or wish it back, just be lucid, and after a while you get used to it. And when you are used to it, it is nothing like you thought it was at first. To me, now, those kind of experiences are just the entrance to meditation. Like crossing a doorstep. I hardly pay attention to it anymore.

I did use my own words many times in this thread. Im not really shure who is more into airy-fairy shortcuts to enlightenment of the two of us, winpro... youre doing KUNLUN man!!! I read some more on that site and it discusses if Jed McKenna is not a real person. Very interesting: http://www.spiritualteachers.org/jed_mckenna.htm

I think I like Jed McKenna. Here is a quote I found on the world wide web, I think it is about enlightenment, but it also mentiones love "Here's a simple test. If it's soothing or comforting, if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy; if it's about getting into pleasant emotional or mental states; if it's about peace, love, tranquility, silence or bliss; if it's about a brighter future or a better tomorrow; if it makes you feel good about yourself or boosts your self-esteem, tells you you're okay, tells you everything's just fine the way it is; if it offers to improve, benefit or elevate you, or if it suggests that someone else is better or above you; if it's about belief or faith or worship; if it raises or alters consciousness; if it combats stress or deepens relaxation, or if it's therapeutic or healing, or if it promises happiness or relief from unhappiness, if it's about any of these or similar things, then it's not about waking up. Then it's about living in the dreamstate, not smashing out of it. On the other hand, if it feels like you're being skinned alive, if it feels like a prolonged evisceration, if you feel your identity unraveling, if it twists you up physically and drains your health and derails your life, if you feel love dying inside you, if it seems like death would be better, then it's probably the process of awakening. That, or a helluva case of gas"

This is such a bad question. It takes all the fun out of fun. But it is probably the MOST IMPORTANT question to ask in spiritual developent I ask myself this every day, during every meditation I do, and I never come up with a good answer. It seems to be illusion upon illusion upon illusion... For every illusion I break, I just go into another one.
-
Yes you did say that. I just reacted on you jumping in on every post mentioning full lotus calling hoarse shite. Its ok thought, I totally agree that it is not a must, but I do love it and work to master it every day So what is your experience about full lotus? In which way does(or did) it affect you?
