Hey Vajrasattva. From another thread not many ours ago I believe you pointed out there was a difference between rooting and grounding. Could you explain the difference?
-
hahaha, that guy was REALLY amazing!
-
thats really interesting! I cant imagine you learn these things in a regular acupuncture school, do you?
-
You might try twiddling a little bit as well

Stillness meditation. Just be still and let things settle as they want until you are back to normal. It might be hard in the beginning when everything is running wild, but the more you do it, the more things settles, and the easier it gets to be still. There is of course a lot of other things like positions, visualizations, etc etc, but it too often will only make things worse. Or just give a temporar relief. Stillness meditation brings you back to equillibrium throughout you whole being. May I ask what you did to screw up the chi flow?

I totally agree with you! Max also said that the ones doing Kunlun are BEYOND full lotus....ehe he.... And visualizing full lotus in the bodies of higher dimensions...? Thats lazy.... I remember Dao Zhen wrote somewhere that he usually sits half lotus. But when he told this to his daoist friend, he was told "thats lazy"!

Golden Dragon - Kunlun or other arts?
sheng zhen replied to Wun Yuen Gong's topic in General Discussion
I read somewhere that one of them got a golden dragon body arm at a kafeteria. The arm was gone... But it does really sound like golden dragon body is the goal of the kunlun practice, their highest attainment. I know, most kunluners will claim that the goal is to let go and nothing else. Well, it is not enough because the goal of letting go would at the end be to attain the golden dragon body, right? If that is the highest goal in kunlun practice, and kunlun is so effective people can attain this in just a few years of practice, then to know what we can expect from the practice should be a resonable question. And if golden dragon body means you dissolve in light and then come back, why does Max have to hold anything back in his own evolution? I mean, if it is true that he can come back? Someone else said in an other thread that there is never a stupid question, only stupid answers. -
I would not go as far as to say that everybody should keep their negativity to them selves. That would only create a very boring forum But I would say WAY TO GO to anyone who learns to see where their own experience leads them and see through other peoples ill advice! So WAY TO GO to you man!!

Found some more on sleeping practices. This link also contains the tree practice from Wang Liping. I read the shuigong text you gave us YMWong. Thanks a lot! It seems shuigong is meditative practice or visualization done lying down. Nothing like the Tibetian Dream Yoga or Lucid Dreaming.

How come so many people in this forum are in to Kunlun?
sheng zhen replied to Teddy's topic in General Discussion
The taobums is mostly about Kunlun, David Shen Verdesis prices and retention. But inbetween are some real gems! Stick with us -
For 15 years I listened to the VERY VERY experienced people telling me that full lotus was not good, you will loose your grounding and that is bad, they said. And of course I believed them, they where a lot more experienced, spiritual, energetic insightful and wiser than me, until I tried it myself. As for ungroundedness and full lotus I would say there are so many meditative techniques that are so much worse than full lotus. Like astral travel, any kind of beaming, or rising to higher dimensions, focusing too much on the third eye, etc etc. These techniques are ungrounding. Full lotus is not ungrounding. It only depends on what meditative techniques you use while you are in full lotus. It could also feel like it is ungrounding if you leg channels arent open. Then you will feel pain, and when you feel pain the consciousness will try to leave the body. But if your leg channels are completely open, then this is not a problem. Full lotus does not cut the leg channels, it shows you they are not really open. To do full lotus too much and too quickly is damaging. And I guess the people who told me it was bad actually tried to learn it too quickly and therefore got the idea that it was bad and ungrounding. If you do it correctly it is very very special. Nothing can compare. Nowdays, now that Ive learned it, there is nothing I want more than to master it. It is such a great help in my meditation. But we dont NEED it. Only those with the dedication, will and interest in learning it should do it because it is very demanding. But full lotus is really worth it if you ask me.

The taobums has EVERYTHING! Wu dang pearl explained by Freeform. Not quite the same as the regular small orbit though...
-
Hey, great! What is it a good sign of?
-
I went to your site and read about the small orbit. Ive noticed that orbit for a while now, it just happened naturally but I had no idea what it was. I just let it happen and thought a little about how fucked up I must have been when my microcosmic orbit was so small, hahaha. No, seriously, Ive explored many orbits in the body but I dont now the traditional names of them. Ive learned some names here at taobums though. Where did you learn about the small orbit Trunk? Is it Mantak Chia stuff? Another funny thing is that I clicked further into your site and read about a breathing exercise where you focus on the s-l-o-w exhale. I just came out of a meditation where I did just that. It created a great space in my abdomen, as if it where a big hall with ecco and everything.

All the hurt in the world... what do YOU do?
sheng zhen replied to Anette L's topic in General Discussion
You mentioning Mother Teresa reminded me of something she wrote that I used for inspiration many years ago. Notice the last sentence: People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. -Mother Teresa -
All the hurt in the world... what do YOU do?

Wonderful! -
Practice would definately be worth it. I would even say that your practice will enhance if you keep doing it no matter what disturbances you have in the environment. The only thing that is disturbed is the mind, but it is not the mind we use in meditation, right? It is the not-mind If you meditate in noisy surroundings you will have a kind of workout, making you stronger and your ability to meditate stronger. Your pumping meditative iron. When you later do it in silent surroundings you will be able to go much deeper. Meditation is not really connected to your surroundings. Its something that happens within your self. So it dosent really matter what happens outside, you can still do your inner practice or meditation.

Thanks for answering Edward.

Thanks for sharing! Its so inspiring to hear people with real experience tell their story.
-
Wow, thanks a lot YMWong! I was planning to contact the email adress, that you gave me in the other thread, today. Yes Dao Zhen, great idea, a taoist canon here on taobums would be great!!

Thanks a lot Dao Zhen! I understand more of what Hun and Po is now. You are right of cource, theory can lead us astray, and leave us confused But as we practice we need to be accompanied with theroy to recognize what we experience. We shouldnt need to reinvent the wheel everytime, or to make up our own words to what we experience. Only those that make their own religion or new methods to sell makes up new words, haha. But practice comes first! Not the other way around. Too many people do it the other way around, I understand why you make that point
-
Dao Zhen, I am a little confused about all the new taoist vocabularity Im learning and hope you want to elaborate on a few things. You say Hun is related to soul, but isnt shen also related to soul? What is the differens between Hun and Shen? I saw somewere that Hun and Po is like west and east, and Shen and Jing is like south and north. Is the difference that Hun can be explained as "horisontal consciousnes", that which deals with everyday life, and shen explained as "vertical consciousness", that which deals with spirituality? One more thing I hope you want to answer. It sounds like Po is something we dont want to give power. You explain it as a thief taking over Hun's house. Do we want Hun to be in power at all times in daoist practices or do we let Po take over in a natural way to balance things out?

Here is someone who teaches shui gong: http://www.qigong-daoyuan-engl.net/shui_engl.htm Seems to be a practice that opens the microcosmic orbit without imagination according to the little information on this site. Sounds interesting.

Max's Radio talk on Root Practice!
sheng zhen replied to Wun Yuen Gong's topic in General Discussion
But in full lotus you dont have the toes on the ground. I dont think it can compare to full lotus really...its two different things with different effects. Kunlun position activates the kunlun energy and spontaneous movements, full lotus does a whole lot of other things...
