drew, all your energy is in your head, it is very difficult to read and relate to your posts sometimes. no offense real female healers have been shunned in most parts of the world, and still are today, not because they are lesser healers, but because most societies are patriarchal, especially china. i don't want to start a feminist rant or anything of the sort, but this is a reality. how many "witches" got burned because they were in fact midwives and healers? you said when men try to be healers, they build too much energy and ejaculate. for females, we become too emotional. i think both sexes has big obstacles on the way to becoming potent healers, usually entirely different obstacles. but i personally believe that because women are very emotional beings by nature and are heart centered, this makes them one step closer to being natural healers.

i didn't read what drew posted, but if he did say this i would really like to hear his thoughts. my view (and perhaps it is slanted since i am a woman) is that women are actually much more inclined to healing. we are natural healers by nature, being mothers and caretakers. being more heart centered in general i think makes us potentially more naturally apt at becoming powerful healers.

don't worry drew, a lot of women don't even know half this stuff, you'd surprised!

the rhythm method isn't effective. the fertility awareness method (& natural family planning) is far more effective - they are not the same thing. everyone i know who has ever gotten pregnant while using FAM as their only method of contraception got pregnant because they were lax in following the rules, and didn't understand the method as well as they thought they did. there are a lot of things are completely false in that article. and from a health website... this kind of thing frustrates me so much. okay... allow me to rant for a little bit, and perhaps a few people can learn something new about women's fertility the moon phases can affect a woman's cycle, this is absolutely true. in a natural setting, where a woman isn't exposed to artificial light and sleeps in complete darkness, the menstrual cycle will have a tendency to follow the moon - ovulation will occur on the full moon, and menstruation will occur during the dark moon. i have heard before that the phase of the moon we were in when we were born can affect our cycles. perhaps a woman could have a tendency to ovulate around the moon phase that she was in when she was born. though i have yet to see any real evidence of this. anything else is pure speculation. however, the main thing this article is completely wrong about is that it is not possible for a woman to be fertile twice in the same cycle. she can appear to be fertile twice, for example have fertile cervical fluid and increased sex drive. but a woman can only ovulate once in any given cycle, therefore the possibility of conception only occurs once, no matter how long her cycle is (when women ovulates twice, as in the case of fraternal twins, the two ovulations occur within approximately 24h of each other, so this is considered a single event). this means, a woman is only fertile in the 4-5 days leading up to ovulation and on ovulation day, this is the only time that conception can occur. that's it. anything else is impossible. the moon can influence a woman's cycle enough to move up or push back her ovulation - i am positive this is what happened to me this month. this could cause a woman to ovulate much sooner than what she is used to as well. and if she isn't charting her cycle using the fertility awareness method, for example, she could completely miss this and then wonder why her cycle that month was much shorter. women can technically ovulated as early as day 8 of their cycle, which is usually what happens when women get pregnant from intercourse while they were bleeding. /rant

i didn't sleep enough the few days leading up to the full moon, but now i feel like i could sleep forever. could be unrelated, who knows. my ovulation got delayed this cycle to coincide exactly with the full moon. beautiful! just as it should be.

can you send some of that my way too? i've had 3 warts on my hands for over a year now. this summer i tried removing them with salicylic acid. very painful, removed lots of skin, and i thought i removed the warts but they all came back within a week or two. i was going to try fresh bloodroot on them, as it grows around here. but i procrastinated too long and now the plants have died back and i don't want to just dig up tons of earth unnecessarily. i think i will try the apple cider vinegar starting tonight too.

i tend to agree with scotty as well. what i would recommend for you to try is a brown rice fast. i have done that in the past and didn't feel as depleted as complete fasts. macrobiotic people are big on rice fasts. look into it, see if it speaks to you. i think this is far safer than most fasts, especially if you have never fasted before.

i have felt it a lot more too. this full moon is referred to as the "cold moon". it is over the horizon longer than any other time of the year i believe, therefore can exert a greater influence on us. some interesting thoughts on the december full moon: http://www.ladyoftheearth.com/moon/december.txt

Semen Retention & Modern Day Society
immortal_sister replied to John Zen's topic in General Discussion
i really, really wish i hadn't watched that video... why, oh why so people do this!!! i wasn't assuming that we were talking about jus chia's techniques. i plan on reading taoist yoga in a few weeks. ah well i certainly don't know much about retention and full celibacy. my only direct experience is with someone who practices advanced retention but is far, far from celibate i agree with you that essentially, the issues is with knowing what you are doing and having a teacher. most people can/will do serious damage to themselves trying to learn this stuff from books. but it is all in the mindset, and how energetically aware the person is to begin with. i am assuming everything you are referring to here is in relation to prolonged practice in complete celibacy? and also, i wasn't sure about your wording in some of the sentences... were you saying that retention for 2 weeks is enough for someone to get a good foundation? and that after 100 days there will be a change that you cannot revert back? what change is that? -
in the blinks of eyes sun and moon combine in you breathing through your heart

the moon is ever present, even when her light does not reach you. everything changes, everything stays the same... the cycles of life are just that, cycles...

the sky cleared up, what a blessing. the moon is shining her brightest, full moon in effect. i'm going to walk outside right now and absorb some of this good energy. and also sleep with my blinds open to absorb the moonlight in my sleep, mmm...

Semen Retention & Modern Day Society

i am kind of speechless about your penis shrinking / feminizing comments if someone has NO IDEA how to do retention, it can certainly do damage to them. but i have never ever heard of such side effects. yes at a very advanced level, when you never ejaculate the testosterone levels will lower in the body. but that does not mean that the penis shrivels up and you become a chick! have you experienced this yourself Biff?.. -
hm i'll have to pay more attention, i never noticed that before. i would really like an explanation if anyone can find one. i can understand the the waning moon builds a lot of energy as it is coming close to its fullest. but how can the bright energy of the actual full moon not be the strongest? as i type this, i am thinking of how sun gazing at dawn and dusk can be very powerful, since gazing at the noon sun can be too intense for most people. could the two be compared, even though they are opposites (pure yang / pure yin)? i hope it isn't cloudy tonight, i am off to experiment with this
-
the full moon is always an amplifier for me, amplifies everything, feelings, emotions, energy.. usually very positive, but sometimes negative. this year i have been paying much more attention to the cycles of the moon, seeing how it affects me, affects everyone around me. it is incredible, there is much to learn. i have been making an effort to get outside and try to absorb as much full moon energy as i can, several days before and several days after the full moon. i have always realized that since i have been paying more attention, my menstrual cycles have lined up with the moon cycles, as they should be naturally. there is a lot of power in that i believe. drew why do you say the full moon power is strongest 3 days before the full moon, and not on the actual full moon?

i don't know why you are responding so aggressively. i did not mean "you" specifically, men in general. nowhere did i say that only confidence matters, obviously there are always many factors. i don't think i understand what you mean by "you just want things to appear ok or feel ok" ?? thank you biff indeed, instead of feeling attacked you should simply consider my advice to you. you can choose to think about it and see how it applies to your life, but if it doesn't then that is fine and simply discard it. but you should at least listen when someone is genuinely trying to give you advice.

My experience with Chunyi Lin
immortal_sister replied to voidisyinyang's topic in General Discussion
thank you for sharing drew i have been considering going to see him in person later this winter for some energetic healing. -
if you feel sorry for yourself, if you feel self-defeated, if you are not confident, that will absolutely play against you. i think that is the most important thing to keep in mind. and by confident, i don't mean arrogant and with a big ego. i just mean sure of himself and not desperate. a desperate man is the least attractive thing for any woman with a head on her shoulders / a heart in the right place. a man can be somewhat plain in appearance, but if he is confident, open and relaxed, he can attract even the most beautiful women. try it sometime.
