  1. 365 Tao - CELIBACY

To be completely honest this isn't true. Some animals only mate in certain seasons but others mate all year, all the time.
  2. Intu-Flow: Beginner's Moves

Thank you for the list! I just came across Intu-flow yesterday by someone's post on here some where. It seems very interesting and I am getting ready to try out the videos on youtube. Are there 6 videos on there? The website only links to 5. As far as the Torrents go, I think most people are honest and doubt that much money is being lost. Those that steal it most likely never would have bought it to begin with. If someone is stealing spiritual stuff they may well need it more than others need the money. Not that I am saying it is right, but hopefully some day those that did the stealing will make it right. Most importantly, they will want to make it right.
  3. From 375/320 to 20/20 vision!

The hot and cold compresses "exercise" is awesome! It makes your eyes feel so incredible. Regardless of your eyesight doing this every once in a while will make you just feel great. Try to use as extreme temperature differences as you can comfortably stand. From my experience I have found that vision is a lot like other Taoist practices. If you try to do it in a stressing, controlling way you will not get anywhere and probably make things worse. If you relax into it you find things just seem to work.
  4. Cold Hands

I had been cold, especially my hands, for most of my life. This might have roots in energy blocks, I am not sure. But something that did (or does) help me is coconut oil, to be more specific organic unrefined (sometimes called virgin) coconut oil. I had read that it has a warming effect on the body, though I started including it in my diet for other reasons. After I started eating it have not had problems feeling cold, even in my hands.
  5. Cultivation methodology other than retention.

If you want to ejaculate then go for it! Cultivating some energy before you do so though is beneficial.
  6. From 375/320 to 20/20 vision!

I have improved my vision using this book. Now I didn't get 20/20 and I am sure I could improve it even more if I would stick with it, but I have improved it. Something I found interesting is that one of the exercises in this book is basically telling you to cover your eyes with your hands, direct your energy to your eyes and think positive thoughts of healing and improving your eyesight. I found it interesting because this book is more of western science book. Still a good read that I suggest.

  8. Taoist Contradiction?

Please decide for yourself, but before you make any judgments about a practice you should learn more about the practice, what it is really about and what are the actual goals. The Taoist sexual practice is not about taking energy just for the man's benefit nor is the goal to never ejaculate. Either or even both of these as the only part of such a practice would not be a benefit to one's health. Taoist sex is not just a male practice either. There is a female side to the practice, though I rarely see it discussed any where. Ejaculation is a reflex. You can't force this reflex not to happen. You have to relax into it, among other things, so that it does not happen. You could ejaculate while practicing this and still gain some benefit. Though if you practice this you may find, as most men who have practiced this, that you do not need to ejaculate every time you have sex or sexual stimulation. The goal of the Taoist sexual practice is to improve one's health, ideally both people involved will do the practice and improve their health together. Humans have sex for reasons other than to procreate. Is this natural? This practice developed as a way to gain benefit from our natural desire for sex when not procreating, which is most of the time.
  9. Learning from Nature

    That is pretty awesome!
  10. Making babies!

I don't know about Qigong practices but I have read that traditional cultures would put couples on special, nutrient dense diets to ensure the health of both the man and woman to be optimal for reproducing. I am not sure exactly what was consumed but it was obviously going to be different depending on location but the ideas were the same. In the "modern" western world pretty much the entire focus of getting pregnant and having a baby is on the woman without a lot of attention given to pre-conception diet and health. But the man needs to be adding good healthy components to the equation as well.
  11. Thank you for the link. I have been reading Mother Earth News for awhile. Another good one is Countryside Magazine, http://www.countrysidemag.com/

  12. Orgasm w/o Ejaculation

Yes This isn't entirely true. Yes for a healthy teenage boy. As a man ages or if he is ill or in poor health then retention, especially of the energy, becomes more important.
  13. Breathing and feeling depleted

I agree. If you are new to this then after awhile of practicing it will be much more energizing.
  14. Mantak Chia

So ... How is the book and practice going for you, David? What are your opinions on it?
  15. A begginers book to tao anyone?

Don't underestimate "The Tao Of Pooh". It is a great book for a beginner. It explains Taoist concepts in an easy to understand way. Plus it is fun to read. Now it is not the end all be all ultimate book on Taoism, but I think it is a great introduction book for a Western mind.
  16. The Tao of Pooh

    Double post
  17. The Tao of Pooh

I love The Tao of Pooh! It introduced me to more Taoist ideas as well. It is a great book for Westerners as it uses something most are familiar with while presenting Taoism in an easy to understand and simple manner. I have read it many times as it is also a joy to read.
  18. The Cool Draw

Yes, the cool draw is drawing your sexual energy up and away from your genitals before it is "too hot". You will cycle this energy through your microcosmic orbit, moving it up your spine to the top of your head then bringing it down to store in your naval or sending it all the way down and out your feet if you do not wish to store it. It is important to bring the energy down and not leave it in your head. I do not think contracting the PC muscle is necessary. It can be used to help push your energy along and as such is helpful when you first start this practice. But ultimately you want and can do this without using your muscles, only your mind.
  19. Mantak Chia

'The Multi-Orgasmic Man' is where I first learned the sexual practice. I have never had any problems, only positive results. Whatever he may be I am grateful for the book as it changed my life for the better.
  20. My fellow trees

Trees have been teachers for me. There is a spot in the corner of my father's property where there is a small patch of trees. When I was a kid I would sneak off and go play there. In my teens I would go there to be by myself and find quite and peace. It was one day in my teens that the trees there taught me to work with my energy. At that time I had no idea of such things, growing up and living in a small town in the southern US where there is not much diversity on spirituality. It wasn't until later I came to understand what was going on. Also when I was a teenager I was sitting in class at high school. Our teacher had just finished talking and we just started doing some work to ourselves. I looked over out the window and saw a large tree. I watched it for a minute and then I felt a rush of energy up my spine and found myself standing in a meadow surrounded by trees. The colors were so bright except a black sky. I was standing amazed at this. Then I thought to myself that I was sitting in class just a minute ago and with that thought I found myself back at school. I had no idea what happened until many years later. I am thankful for what the trees have shared with me.
  21. Merry Solstice !

Happy Solstice! (if a day late ) I am definitely looking forward to the days getting longer.
  22. Anti Aging - The China Study

I totally agree with you. But who here as given much information on this? I modified my diet during the whole vegan run, but I was still not doing it right for me. Looking back now I see problem areas. For me I did a lot of research and tried to eat what I was "suppose" to eat. Inspite of all the information available, I think most of it is incomplete and just parts that people have heard and are repeating. I know now there are things that I could have done better and differently, but these are things that I did not learn from the vegan camp for the most part. I am not against vegetarian or vegan diets. I even eat vegetarian at times during the year, usually during the summer when it is easier and more practical for me. I think both can be healthy if done right. A vegan diet however, as been discussed, requires a bit more which most people going into it don't know or understand. As I have found out and stated, there is some information that is not readily available or put out there which I think is important. As for the topic of anti-aging, we all grow old. That is just how things are. But I think that eating a more traditional diet certainly helps us age well and healthy. When first looking into this topic you might think that it is all about eating meat, as many that promote this do talk a lot about it and I have heard some veggies complain about. But that is not the point. The whole point of eating a traditional diet is to eat healthy, nutrient dense foods. So the great thing is that this goes well whether you are eating an omnivore or vegetarian diet.
  23. Anti Aging - The China Study

I ate a vegetarian diet for a few years and vegan for several months. At the time I thought I was doing great. It was not until looking back that I realized a vegan diet was not right for me. I personally feel that vegetarian and even vegan diets have their place. A balanced vegetarian diet that includes high quality animal products is probably fine for a long term diet. But I do not think that a vegan diet is all that healthy for the long term. It is great for the short term, especially for cleansing. To even do it "right" requires a lot of research which most people who try such a diet do not do. But even then it may not be very practical for a lot of people. Something that is very rarely talked about with a vegan diet but I think is very important is fat. The general idea, atleast in the US, is that all fat is bad for you. This is just not true. We all need the right kinds of fat. This is especially true for anyone on a vegan diet. A vegan diet is generally very low fat. A person on a vegan diet really needs to make sure they are getting a lot (in terms of a vegan diet) of the right kinds of fat. And yes we all need some saturated fat. The other thing is soy. I agree with Immortal_sister on this. Soy has traditionally been consumed only after having been fermented, such as soy sauce and tempeh. Even then it was not eaten in large quantities. The thing is even if you are not vegan but eating a lot of processed foods then you are eating a lot of soy. But this soy is not fermented, as fermentation takes time and time is not something that goes well with "modern" industry. Personally what I think is the healthiest diet is eating one that is more traditional, one that is like what our ancestors ate. This includes avoiding processed foods, especially things like white sugar and white flour, eating raw foods and eating fermented foods. This can be done as both a vegetarian and an omnivore and probably to some degree as a vegan, though vegan is certainly not traditional. I have felt and looked my best when sticking to this diet. Two good reads on this are Nurishing Traditions found here: http://www.amazon.com/Nourishing-Tradition...3788&sr=8-1 and Nutrition and Physical Degeneration which is free to read online here: http://www.journeytoforever.org/farm_libra...e/pricetoc.html Ultimately you need to listen to your body and do what feels right for you.
  24. Yoga vs Tai Chi

Has worked better for what? You need to decide what your goal is and then pick the one that will help you reach it.
  25. What Sort of Taoist Sexual Systems Exist? And How Do They Work?

Thank you for the links and information. I will read over them soon. Most of the complaints I have read about The Multi Orgasmic Man (this forum excluded as I have not read much on this here yet) were actually addressed in the book. Those complaining apparently were not paying attention. Though on Chai's part, some important points are not stressed very heavily but mentioned almost in passing. Now I am not saying that Chai's method is the best. I think it makes this more accessable to the average westerner. I think an important point that many may miss is that while the book is focused on physical things to do, Chai does say that this is only to get you started to help in moving the chi and that the goal is to not have to use these but only use your mind or have it happen naturally. Now I have not studied Lin's technique. Where can I find this? I have actually recently come across the male deer exercise. It sounds interesting but I have yet to try it. I do plan to try it out sometime.
