very good topic and i love the work of master wong for a long time. his qi gong book "art of chi kung" is think it is called in english is very beautiful and full of enthuisasm. maybe it is good for anyone to start out with practices that make your life happier and longer. this can never be wrong i guess. i myselve was in zen monastaries for a while but today i would say that it was not the time back then. starting out with zen is a pretty tough way and it can lead for some people to frustration. there is a nice saying i am sure some of you know: to understand martial arts practice tai chi to understand tai chi practice qi gong to understand qi gong practice meditation. i never deeply understood if the taoist concept of immortality and the zen concept of enlightenment are somehow connected. i dont know if the immortal realms where just a methapher of enlightenment. one enlightened teacher i met didnt talk at all about immortality. when i asked him about it he would say that when it is time to go you go. leave space for the next one to come and have experiences here. dont block the space. so in the end i really dont know much again ... love jan.

just some thoughts ... we tend to project our own expectations to our teachers. i am including myselve because i had also teachers in the past that hurt me until i realized more and more that i have to take responsibility for my path (still learning ). and so the hurt turned more into opening something up. let the teachers do their things. let them be human. let them smoke their cigarettes, eat their non vegetarian food, fake their own death , have a cute girlfriend, have a nice car and so on. one of my teachers told me: you are not here to get to know me. you are here to get to know yourselve. if he/she provides good tools to do so: that is it. he doesnt have to be the superstar. they are not here to fit our mind. and even if they do one day they will do something and it will remove the illusion we created in the first place. and then better they are far away from us because the love can easy turn to anger. instead of admitting that actually WE failed we easily tend to put it on our self proclaimed gurus. this story happens all the time again and again. and then there is max. telling everyone in every seminar that you are your own best master. and he is giving techniques that actually work great and change peoples life. he doesnt tie anyone to himself. he repeats again and again you have to just see him once. as far as i could see for the time i know him he spends a great amount of energy even when the seminar is over to help people. when he was in my house a few days even in the night he would work on his students and trying to support them spiritually. so why bother so much? even by buying just the book i had great experiences. i had to spend long times in monastaries to get results like that (this is of course just my personal experience). the mind is tricky. we always search for ways to find something is not good. that is (as we all know) why the bad headlines make so many people buy the newspapers. when you see and hear that a person like max is helping to positively changing the lifes of many people ... just be happy for them. then all separations will disappear. exchange will happen. you will support each other no matter what path you are going. it is all going to the same source. everybody in his/her own speed. hopefully we all meet one day there love jan.

short paris review: paris was awsome. i spontaniously drove there. even i had just attended cologne it was nice to do it with another group and i got new inputs, too. lots of the people opened up i paris and so we all really had fun. somebody was speaking in tongues, lots of laughter, bouncing and so on. it was interesting to see the beauty of every country being a bit different in the practice. i felt people were very warm hearted and soft who attended the seminar in france. i am looking forward to go to seminar in the USA in the future, too. so i will look forward to meet some of you guys again. max repeats on every seminar several times that you are your own best teacher. he never tells people that they have to come back again (i went anyway ... not so many chances as in the usa to attend a seminar). he says one seminar is enough then you have to practice and experience on your own. when people asked about a seminar doing level 2 he tells them level one is enough. he was being very generous to people and to me so i am really, really happy that he came here. thanks to everyone who made it possible! for me this already opened so many little gifts inside ... cool! love jan.

hi everyone, i thought it would be a good idea to make a "wise story"-thread. just tell your favorite wise story to inspire each other. here are some of mine that i already wrote in another thread of sunshine (sorry again: bad english): a spiritual teacher is walking on the street with one of his students. they pass by a man that sits on a bank. the teacher stumbles upon a stone that he didnt see and almost falls. the students thinks: how can it be that my master stumbles upon a stone. i thought he was perfect and always aware of everything around. i am loosing some of my faith in him. the teacher thinks: how embarassing. i am telling my students always to be present and now i stumble in front of one of them. i hope he doesnt tell the others ... the man on the bank thinks: a man stumbled. another story (sorry for the bad translation): a poor man lives at the edge of a village. he has a beautiful white male horse that everyone admires. people think he is crazy because he is so poor but doesnt sell his horse. but he truely loves it and every day he is happy caring for it. one day the horse runs away. the people of the village come and say to him: that was wrong. you should have sold your horse as we always told you, now it is gone and you have nothing! the man answers: everything is the way it is a week later the horse comes back with a beautiful white female horse. the people of the village came and said to him: you were right! now you even have two horses and you are even richer! the man answers: everything is the way it is. so his son tries to tame the new horse but falls and breaks bothe leggs. he will not be able to walk for a long, long time and cannot help his father. the people say: you were wrong. you should have sold them and this would not have happened. the man answers: everything is the way it is. a few weeks later there is a war near the village and the landlord takes all young man of the village to fight. many of them die. they didnt recrute the son of the poor man because he couldnt walk. the people say: you were right! AND SO ON AND SO ON .... and one more: three monks live for several years in a monastary and meditate hard every day. one day the master comes and tells them: i will test you if you are ready to leave the monastary forever. if you fail you have to stay many more years. if you pass you are ready to leave. you just walk down the hill to the next little town. if you manage not to speak until you arrrive, you do not have to come back. if you speak, you must come back and finish what you have started. the monks agree and walk to the village. after a while one of them says: "we almost made it!" the other one says: "be quite. we are not supposed to talk!" the last one says: "ha! i am the only one who didnt say anything!"

some funny little stories, i dont know if you like them or if they fit the situation, so decide yourselve: a spiritual teacher is walking on the street with one of his students. they pass by a man that sits on a bank. the teacher stumbles upon a stone that he didnt see and almost falls. the students thinks: how can it be that my master stumbles upon a stone. i thought he was perfect and always aware of everything around. i am loosing some of my faith in him. the teacher thinks: how embarassing. i am telling my students always to be present and now i stumble in front of one of them. i hope he doesnt tell the others ... the man on the bank thinks: a man stumbled. another story (sorry for the bad translation): a poor man lives at the edge of a village. he has a beautiful white male horse that everyone admires. people think he is crazy because he is so poor but doesnt sell his horse. but he truely loves it and every day he is happy caring for it. one day the horse runs away. the people of the village come and say to him: that was wrong. you should have sold your horse as we always told you, now it is gone and you have nothing! the man answers: everything is the way it is a week later the horse comes back with a beautiful white female horse. the people of the village came and said to him: you were right! now you even have two horses and you are even richer! the man answers: everything is the way it is. so his son tries to tame the new horse but falls and breaks bothe leggs. he will not be able to walk for a long, long time and cannot help his father. the people say: you were wrong. you should have sold them and this would not have happened. the man answers: everything is the way it is. a few weeks later there is a war near the village and the landlord takes all young man of the village to fight. many of them die. they didnt recrute the son of the poor man because he couldnt walk. the people say: you were right! AND SO ON AND SO ON .... actually a good idea, i will open a story-thread!!! love jan.

hi, i think the system he teaches is really sounding good. when i saw the book a long time ago i felt the same you feel. sounded very positive and with a good intend. but ... i once happened to be on a free lecture of him and i have to say that what he did was a lot of manipulation (in my opinion) to people. for example: he told people that they would get cancer at a certain age (he would even say the exact year they would get cancer or other bad things). they could get cured by doing a "karma cleansing" that just him or his students did and which costed a hell lot of money (i think about 600 to 1000 dollar. that night was a "special offer" with "just" about 450 dollar). he did the cleansing in a short amount of time so he could work on many people on one night. it seemed to me like a big marketing show. for me what he did was not a very clean way. it is like you built up karma by telling people negative things (and it really was just negative) and then remove the karma you just built. also i think it doesnt show much compassion to scare the hell out of people. other than that i think the book is sounding good (after the lecture i stopped reading it) and i am happy for the people that cured themselves with his method. it is all about faith so i dont want to destroy it. just wanted to express to be aware. love jan.

no, no. that is not true. there are two maxes. one is his long lost twin brother. they were separated by an evilish lord who wanted to invade the planet. his brothers name is not max but fax. fax later was the inventor of the fax-machine and was also known for his amazing qi gong skills. people say he could enlighten you by just sending you a fax. he was struck by an incoming fax at the age of 18 and so they didnt look exactly alike anymore. love jan.

P.S. There was at least one taobum in Germany: Minkus. I am happy to have met you personally, Minkus. You seem like a really open guy. For sure I couldnt tell your age! Cool you where there! I am sure Minkus has some old taoist secret to look so young ... I hope one day he will share that secret with us ( ). Love Jan.

Max has been living with me the last few days, so did Chris and Damiano. I am overwhelmed by how much Max cares for everyone and spends an incredible amount of time and love to help his students. Chris and Damiano are two really awsome people and I dont know when I laughed so much and had so much fun than with those guys. The seminar was amazing and lots of people attended. I think people were really touched and many opened up. Max took a lot of time to help people individually and many want him to come back. He often transmitted energy to people and even after class he would work and transmit on Chris, Damiano, my friend and me. Friends and students call him in between and he patiently answers questions and helps. I dont know where he has all that energy from ... I am honored to have him stay here and also very happy to meet Damiano and Chris. I will be missing them a lot. For me that was an energy booster to have them here. I opened up much more. I dont want to write more about this because it is personal but for me I am very happy and glad that I was able to hang out with those guys. Love Jan.

since we are all looking for the mongolian music for the kunlun ride ... here are some little reminders ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2wk-zdWjYI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWJe2qDhmoE the last song reminds me a lot of the old song of the 80ties "holliday in combodia" ... so funny!!! i cried listening to it .... still having tears in my eyes from laughing! i think i am becoming a mongolian music fan!!! namaste, jan.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ABIg0SNv5r8 that was in the good old days. now that i met you guys my laughter has become intense. it is true, when you do kunlun it doesnt take much ... i really enjoyed how we all threw the laughing balls back and forth to each other. awsome participants. i mean i know seminars where people would maybe have been pissed and "disturbed" in their "inner view". kunlun in a monastary should be the craziest place on earth. imagine 100 monks laughing like crazy. the whole western world that take spirituality often so serious would be shattered. max is such a funny teacher, too. he really knows how to trigger those funny moments. and if he doesnt the crazy mongolian music will do it. i still have to laugh when i think of that bonanza-style crazy riding on a horse through the mongolian praerie music. awsome!!! does anyone know how to get that music? i have to repeat how much i enjoyed this seminar in the end. love, jan.

also i would be happy to get a one on one with max since there may not be so many opportunities for me. but i am really glad to be able to come to new jersey and to be in the seminar. to meet the persons who spread this method that opened so many doors for me already. it is such a good development that now it is so easy for someone to travel so fast such long distances. in the past i would have to take my horse and some damn good boat ... see ya ... jan.

Jan. august leo: i think the medicine workshop is cancelled. at least when i tried to apply for it two weeks ago it was written something about that it will not take place. see you all. jan. p.s. i will probably stay the first two days in a cheap hotel in newark. i will arrive the 30th of april from europe. i will leave the 5th of may. i plan on staying with yoda and cameron for two days in their hotel room (thanks again for the offer). the only thing that could happen is that a friend of a friend will invite me to stay at her place. i do not know yet if that is possible or where this place would be ... after that i might goh back to the cheap hotel near the airport newark (about 40 euro a night)

hi yoda, thanks for the info. with "standing type thrills" do you mean "Normal" health qi gong exercices while standing? like filling the dantians, opening the meridians and so on. love jan.

hi german-speaking kunluniss, if you have ideas one which german websites it would be beneficial to promote the seminar of max in europe you can post it here. maybe there are some german speaking forums that have a calender in which we could put the informations. love jan.
