  1. An important aspect of this subject - everything comes with a price, From Luke: "And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
  2. Seems like cats are almost always in wu wei, if not overly domesticated.
  3. "...What another has taught let me repeat: "A man (or woman) of violence will come to a violent end" Whoever said this can be my teacher and my father." From TTC 42 (with the or woman part added by me)
  4. Labor Day

An old union song by Pete Seger Unions are not perfect but in many ways unions=middle class chances; look at where a lot of unions are now and where a lot of people are not... (like working two jobs at mimimum wage and barely or not getting by)
  5. Roger, I have some agreement with you although I'm mostly into or interested in the teachings of Vedanta and certain forms of Hinduism. (where the universal Shakti is taught) Thus a melding of Christianity (as it is often known) into non-dualistic school of teaching is at least a problematic to perhaps an impossible foray for me...
  6. "It is utterly Sovereign" Seth, Thanks for stepping up to plate! (as we say in the US) Nice to hear your feelings on the matter.
  7. SOTG, I didn't start this string to argue about the experience or belief just seeing how many are into same, obviously you are not into same which is fine for you so have at in your own string... is that asking to much? By the way in your own string I suggest not limiting "sovereign" to just Abrahamic religions. (which I somewhat did here via the terminology although such was not stated or meant as the limit)
  8. that wasn't the question, if you want to pursue that line start another string.
  9. Alchemy Secrets (just kidding)

Painting oneself as an authority (over or beyond others) is foolish, if one needs people to kiss their ass then they should go and start a school somewhere.
  10. ...

If there is a big hole in a string of posts that is just how the cookie crumbles, if one wants to join a school where the cookies should not just crumble then that is available, but not at TTB's since it is not a school, it is a wide open free for all where anything from A-Z fly's (or just about) and if you happen to get lucky in finding something or someone here then that is great but don't expect it or put editing limits on the posters here.
  11. God (the Father) as a sovereign Being, that is pretty straightforward.
  12. Why Do We Exist?

    I thought everybody else was?
  13. Why Do We Exist?

The True teaches us that the True is inherent. (and happy beyond sad)
  14. Labor Day

Yeah, they had their bases covered with MP's and the military justice guys... (which I never or at least almost never had any run ins with, hehehe) I have some odds and ends to do and maybe one or two more posts to submit. Thanks for responding to the Labor Day string.
  15. Labor Day

Then again if you were US Army the feds had a lot of bases covered for you... I was USAF and Army National Guard, and I'm now in the Steelworkers Union (in it's new form)
  16. Labor Day

MH, Unions have had various problems but they don't end up causing pension funds to be bled (robbed) dry leaving millions of people in the dust to suffer in poverty after working their whole lives for said pension! Many of the money powers that be have been sucking the life out of America and its people for so long that it's the status quo and an accepted goal and or way to get ahead... Anyway good unions can and still do serve a useful purpose in keeping the robber barons at least partly honest, not to mention pushing for worker safety improvements and standards as part of their core stance in the workplace!
  17. Why Do We Exist?

Cookies are good but what about my carrot cake and 2% organic milk? Within creation I exist relatively, uniquely and as many; beyond creation I exist singly and absolutely. Om
  18. Talking about Taoism is only or mostly a concept. Linkage and action to "mystery" is more than just a concept.
  19. Why Do We Exist?

I'm a unique being in all of creation, although having much in common with other beings.
  20. Why Do We Exist?

MPG, Taking into account that you often give Buddhist quotes and sources what you are saying above implies to me that when the historic Buddha said, "may all beings be happy" really amounted to a hollow and meaningless sentiment from his (dharmic) steward like position since nihilism or a variation of same is the ultimate truth - before which all beings are powerless.
  21. Why Do We Exist?

Our place and why we exist is to be "stewards" in the largest sense or meaning that that word can have - if and when such is proven out,
  22. Is there De (Te) without It's virtue?

MH, I don't read it that way namely "gets taken advantage of" which gives the connotation of the "Sage" as being foolish or maybe being big of heart yet weak in wisdom... Anyway a Sage gets "their trust" by uncovering the possibility of trust within them and then helping make it a reality for them. (that is if they do not turn away)
  23. Is there De (Te) without It's virtue?

a true Sage follows universal principles, and thus fulfills chapter 49 of the TTC. (thus not fulfilling the counterparts such as madness)
  24. and it's all so clear and easy to understand..
