  1. We may begrudge about this or that, Spirit begrudges not. "The highest form of goodness is like water. Water knows how to benefit all things without striving with them. It stays in places loathed by all men. Therefore, it comes near Tao..." From the T.T.C. chap. 8
  2. ego goes poof, before the truth.
  3. Rhetorically speaking: how can the "One" be born of the Tao that can not really be named...? Also if the Great Tao is not the "One" yet not separate then what the hell?
  4. Is any of this proven or real?

no matter how much we read and memorize it will not be enough...for those are pointers which have their place and purpose, but we still have to go where the pointers point to really understand what the maps are trying to tell us. Btw. in Hinduism we can not gain or lose the true "Self" (although it is veiled and may be unveiled) thus a Self or Spirit that I'd say is also alluded to in Taoism. Good luck which doesn't hurt...
  5. What does the transcendent desire? - apparently manifestation? Yet if nothing is gained and nothing is lost then why veiling and then unveiling?
  6. Did the U.S. really go to the moon in 1969?

well hell, trump was there in 69 making the moon great again, he also brought back some its green cheese which turned him orange after eating it.
  7. what does the transcendent desire?

I always liked the seed analogies... also the idea that the seed has to die to become a sprout, the sprout has to die to become a sapling, and the sapling has to die to become a tree - from which more seeds are made, yet all having the same lifeforce within those different forms... anyway forms are gained and lost but the lifeforce does not gain or loose in that way through change of itself...how could it and remain the lifeforce?
  8. what does the transcendent desire?

sipper of sipper (of the tea)... a spin off by me related to the Kena Upanishad where it mentions : II It is the ear of the ear, the mind of the mind, the speech of the speech, the life of the life, the eye of the eye. link to said upanishad http://www.yoga-age.com/upanishads/kena.html
  9. On the nature of creation - Ramana Maharshi

I'd say lots of it but not everything, for there is a lot of KJ Bible sounding text that came through.
  10. what does the transcendent desire?

maybe unless we go with the sipper of sipper?
  11. On the nature of creation - Ramana Maharshi

more along the lines of seekers and making preparations: https://www.swami-krishnananda.org/upanishad/upan_03.html
  12. what does the transcendent desire?

righto, except it will have to incarnate before being able to sip same
  13. what does the transcendent desire?

fun as in the Bible with the "vanity of vanities" madness and or "why hast thou forsaken me" of visceral and heart shredding doubt?
  14. what does the transcendent desire?

there is the saying in Buddhism that, "samsara properly understood is nirvana" which to me does not sound like any form of denial of samsara... so (it seems) in one Advaita related way could we say, the unreal when properly understood is enlightenment. ?
  15. On the nature of creation - Ramana Maharshi

Also Cayce's take on the Book of Revelations is interesting, and far from fundamentalist Christianity.
  16. what does the transcendent desire?

then start your own thread and chip away there.... obviously
  17. what does the transcendent desire?

Rideforever, That sounds like a mountain size chip on the shoulder, and quasi-4th way stuff, thanks but not interested.
  18. what does the transcendent desire?

depending on the school "desire" sometimes has the connotation of a four letter word...anyway could we say compassion has the built in desire and nature to be compassionate and joy has the built in desire and nature to be joyous? And along those lines that the transcendent has the built in desire and nature to manifest both....
  19. what does the transcendent desire?

in Taoist terms why would the great Tao desire to give birth to "The One", then on to "The Two", "The Three" and "Ten Thousand", none of which I believe are described as only apparent.
  20. what does the transcendent desire?

in realization a "my" transcendent is no different from the transcendent...
  21. what does the transcendent desire?

Shakti is not suppressed, Om is not suppressed, Yantra is not suppressed, thus flowing in divine desire and dance which is not suppressed.
  22. On the nature of creation - Ramana Maharshi

"why not?". Why not what? Since it sounds like you are mostly agreeing with me? Btw, I'd say master A has no choice since he has no ego to choose with - thus the Spirit determines their choice or action. (as an A, B, C, or ditch digger as needed)
  23. On the nature of creation - Ramana Maharshi

we've been down this road often...anyway it seems that your last sentence above could be transposed around somewhat?
  24. On the nature of creation - Ramana Maharshi

anyway, back to the masters story: It seems that master A can also act as master B and C if needed or as moved to be. They could also wash dishes and "chop wood and carry water" as or if needed. (thus along the lines of, "High virtue is non- virtuous; therefore it has virtue.." from the TTC. 38) for things can get very dicey if we mount a master on a pedestal of our own making. (and far worse if it a pedestal of their own making)
