  1. Well allinone at least you are sticking to Buddhism...good luck
  2. how PHD. titillating, which has nothing to do with supremely simple Self (meaning how many times do we dummies need to hear that you wrote this or that paper for this or that degree? Perhaps once in passing and as a side note in self-referencing yourself would suffice?)
  3. what the oxymoron grasping with wisdom are you talking about Chi force? I'd say the R. quotes also point to beyond the "path" or walking it, for once there - it is (already) there with no further path or a walker of same.
  4. Not sure what you are saying Chi force? I'd say the point the quotes are making is beyond any state of mind experience, or that which the mind can not reach, even a mind full of light...or "luminosity".
  5. Strange Recurring Pattern

I missed the first post so this is just a side comment... We need a certain amount of privacy and personal positive-like energy of our friends support, but as long as we are beings the negative-like energy will also have to be continually dealt with since the further one is on the 'path' the greater the negativity challenge one will come up against, thus turning or transforming negative-like energy around supplies us with an almost unlimited number of great possibilities for the nitty-gritty and most powerful spiritual work there is! (meaning almost anyone can sit off alone or in a sheltered environment with buddies, but the real test of meaningful sitting or meditation includes the ability to get up and walk through hell without a trace of fear or doubt and do what needs to be done per Spirit)
  6. ok, I don't really hear any major difference, although I feel my text was given in a more generic form.
  7. The "lines above" are from the other guy so he would have to answer your specific questions regarding his text.... but in my side comment I didn't mean to say a spirit as in an individual soul, but Spirit like in an immeasurable Ocean.
  8. Lets not forget that Spirit does the choosing along the lines above, and not any person... for a person may only prepare and make readiness - thus the crossing is not made per their will, mind or soul alone except in the sense of surrender by them reaching out to Spirit and Spirit reaching back via its inviolate and innate wisdom.
  9. Are we here for a purpose?

who me? I can't prove anything to anyone...
  10. Are we here for a purpose?

umm, not exactly difficult as a given... for Mystery is perpetually manifest in a way when or if such is known and seen by and through Mystery, thus knowable and seeable in that way. As for mind and various states or realms - such are totally dependent upon Mystery as Source to manifest and not the other way around.
  11. seems strange that you would say that Gatito being that any and all "spiritual" students and or masters are spiritual warriors in one sense or another or on a path in one sense or another of at least being a warrior in seeking and standing for dharmic and universal truth or truths.
  12. I was not kidding... I see no merit in tempting or provoking death by creating a death/risk scenario being that death is already on the hunt in a certain manner of speaking, also death/risk scenarios may arise through karmas anyway and then need to be faced; thus a spiritual warrior may prepare dharmically to face death but I feel they have no time or place to make or be motivated by a mind/body/ego trip out of doing so.
  13. manhunt

imagine if law enforcement put the same effort into hunting down white collar criminals who are more or less stealing millions or billions of dollars and laying waste to America and its common citizens as it is doing so for the two convicted guys on the loose somewhere around N.Y...
  14. manhunt

I would still use the term "white collar criminals" since that is a commonly recognized and accepted term among a great many types of people including non-criminal white collar workers .
  15. "(as opposed to being stuck with a very expensive and dangerous addiction - in the case of any adrenaline junkies who may happen across this post. )". by Gatito. Yes, that reminds me of people forcefully risking and or creating a death scenario without its true need which is used to then somehow make them feel alive during such activity... - whereas or in comparison if we borrow (or paraphrase) a Zen saying it is seen that such forced and self created risk is not needed to make one feel alive per: "before enlightenment chop wood and carry water , after enlightenment chop wood and carry water"
  16. Are we here for a purpose?

To put my last post into different terms; Mystery is not empty of or without Mystery nor can the fact of indestructible Mystery be nailed down in any normal way, including with the term or concept of "empty". Also Mystery is not potential in the sense of something that may or may not develop or come to exist... for it has always and will always exist right under our noses (so to speak), although and again not per any normal or worldly definition of an existence that has the potential to be here one day and gone the next. A "clean slate mind" is not unlike a clear memory chip that has the potential to take, hold and work with new data or new programing, while a full memory chip can not do so unless it clears out space for such.
  17. Are we here for a purpose?

I'd say that the true Self is not "empty" of True Self, thus more than just potential or an empty stage type of connotation (or clean slate mind )
  18. Are we here for a purpose?

interesting drift although I would take it about a billion times smaller than bacteria, so small that even the most powerful electron microscope doesn't have a chance of seeing it.... and then take it about billion times larger than all known space and its galaxies, so large that even the most powerful telescope will never have a chance of seeing it, then drop all names excepting something like "Mystery".
  19. Are we here for a purpose?

parrots are one thing, ravens another.... β€œOnce upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door β€” Only this, and nothing more." Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow; β€” vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow β€” sorrow for the lost Lenore β€” For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore β€” Nameless here for evermore. And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me β€” filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating, Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door β€” Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; β€” This it is, and nothing more." Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you"β€” here I opened wide the door; β€” Darkness there, and nothing more. Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore?" This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!" β€” Merely this, and nothing more. Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning, Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before. Surely," said I, "surely that is something at my window lattice: Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore β€” Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore; β€” 'Tis the wind and nothing more."..
  20. Cobi, I'd suggest that you maybe copy a short paragraph from the article to go with your post, thus more likely people will go into it further.
  21. Are we here for a purpose?

even Mr. G. renounced his dumb "no soul" sayings, to help out the parrots he helped create.
