Spiritual diet has now been labeled as a new disease
ShaktiMama replied to ejr1069's topic in General Discussion
the Chinese study was not good research http://www.beyondveg.com/billings-t/comp-anat/comp-anat-8e.shtml Raw food advocates are now claiming their diet cures diabetes. No, when you lose weight, either from eating only veggies, or you reduce your calories, or you reduce your volume intake...diabetes ususally gets cured. weight loss cures diabetes -
no need to worry about this. Karma doesnt believe we exist either. Just keeps on turning and turning. s

I think they head up the Ministry of Disinformation in each country.

Do Shamans and tantric practioners dislike each other?

S'oK. Bon Po is ancient pre Buddhist practice. Best to be able to pay attention cause stuff happens. -
Take them out now or take them out later. There is just something inherently wrong removing something perfectly healthy in anticipation that something might happen down the road. It is not like getting your hair cut. They don't grow back. You are having healthy bone pulled out of your mouth. And depending on where they are in your mouth and the relative thickness of your palate the dentist might accidentally put a little hole into your palate that connects with your sinuses. I have that possibility. When I found that out I said no more. Having an opening made into your sinuses where there was none before is just asking for trouble. Now there is an artificial opening for an opportunistic infection. Might not get it but you may get it. It is dentist choice. Most oral surgeons, who make their money doing root canals and removing teeth, will often recommend removal...that's their business. I have known people who had some (not all) wisdom teeth removed in their 70s. Dont do it. I speak from personal experience who waited 30 years to have two wisdom teeth removed. One had a bad cavity. I still regret getting them removed. I have lost some chewing surface on one side of my face. Implants are outrageously expensive in the US. Having my teeth pulled was a far more worse experience when I had some removed in preparation for having braces than it was when I was a mature adult. Make them tell you why removing them in later years is a bad idea. Basically, that idea arose because of poor dental hygiene practice in the past and that older people have poor immune systems. If you plan on being a healthy old man say no and deal with it if the issue ever comes up. One of the stupidest things I have done. I actually had a dentist say to me,"if we pull this wisdom tooth it will make it easier to get to and fill that cavity." I never went back to that dentist and he said he had a holistic practice. Last year I went to a regular dentist who fixed that cavity without needing to have my tooth pulled to make the other tooth accessible to her. This dentist said not to have any teeth removed needlessly. Why? Because having your teeth removed will soften the remaining bone and will eventually effect the shape of your jaw and your mouth. You know that look elderly people have, like their jaw has gotten smaller. She told me that's from having their teeth pulled. I had never been told that before. Can you tell I am still pissed off that I had teeth that were needlessly removed? But what I know about calcium and bone loss that makes sense. sux...

How do you measure meditation progress?
ShaktiMama replied to InfinityTruth's topic in General Discussion
http://www.justplainyoga.com/workshops.htm#jpmrelaxation If you live in PA, go see my friend and student, Ron. He is blogging 100 days of meditation practice. I don't remember the link to that blog but he can give it to you. He is one of the most intellectually honest, no BS kind of guys I know. He can give you some great instruction and measuring tool ideas. He has done the two weeks staring at the wall Vispassana meditation to the Secret Smile with me. He has a broad range of experiences and teachers. Teaching meditation and yoga is his specialty. Tell him you heard about him from me. He can help you with kundalini questions and problems too. He is a good man. s -
Help me rationalize this...yes its alien stuff
ShaktiMama replied to imonous's topic in General Discussion
If it is objectively so what are you going to do about it? what can you do about it? Is it within your sphere of influence? If it is objectively false what are you going to do about it? what can you do about it? Is it within your sphere of influence? It the meantime only you can control your response to external influences. Are you going to panic and shoot yourself because the end is near? Maybe? Or are you going to let yourself be amazed, amused, and respond with detachment? It could happen. Its your choice. -

Having been a nurse since dirt was invented and having circulated through my fair share of ERs, ICUs, and crazy people I can say with exacting certainty a few things about that guy. He is honestly terrified. Is what he saying true? He believes it. s -

Do Shamans and tantric practioners dislike each other?
ShaktiMama replied to ejr1069's topic in General Discussion
The authentic Tantric path is shamanistic and tantra is contained in shamanism. There is no separation between the two unless you talk about new age shamanism or neo-tantra. Look into Bon Po for an example of a tantric/shaman path. s -

If being able to demonstrate compassion and metta is a requirement to join the TBs, what a small, boring place this would be. Now, I think it is more of a requirement to learn about compassion and metta when you come to the TBs, in what a huge, complex and sometimes difficult place this can be. This is a learning place not the destination. peace, s -

Steering/dissolving tornadoes (Real shamans)
ShaktiMama replied to taoey's topic in General Discussion
I wanted to add that eventually the awareness can come that you are the Breath, you are the Water of Life if you practice this type of breath. (Sssshhhh. Don't tell anyone. That's another big secret!) Here is a prayer/meditation to go with this type of breathing that was given to me by my Kahuna friend and mentor. ~~~~~~~~ I am the I I come forth from the void into light. I am the breath that nutures life. I am the emptiness, the hollowness beyond all consciousness, I am the I, the Id, the All. I draw my rainbows across the waters, The Continuum of minds and matters. I am the incoming and outgoing of breath, The invisible, untouchable breeze, The undefineable atom of creation. I am the I. -

Thanks. I just finished teaching a 2 hour class on line last night in a study group about Conscious Evolution and CO-Creation based on some of the philosophy of Barbara Marx Hubbard noted futurist and other contemporary philosophers like Bertrand Russell, Tiellhard Chardin,Buckminster Fuller and Abraham H. Maslow. More than a half hour of it was spent leading kundalini meditations and giving shakipat. You are seeing an unretouched photo taken afterwards in the Shakti kundalini afterglow.I just took the red out of my pupils. We are studying how to become a Conscious Citizen of the Universe and more productive stewards of Mama Earth. -

One of the most important places to be is between breaths. Eventually you will be able to make it longer and longer. This is when the body absolutely rests and we can coast into Higher Consciousness. Eventually it will seem like time stops. Your perception of time slooooooowwwwwws. It is pretty cool when you can not only notice that but also manipulate this perception. I learned how to do that when I was about 10. It's the experience of time that is fascinating to explore. Practice, Practice, Practice or as one my teachers said, Practice Perfect, Practice Perfect, Practice Perfect. Long, slow, quiet breathing is a yin practice. If you are not moving into and staying in a yin state it can be a little difficult to do that kind of practice. So anything that moves your self into a yin state, i.e. activates your parasympathetic nervous system, will help you continue in quietness. Things like making love-yummm, singing, chanting, playing, cooking, meditation, loving community activities all will activate the parasympathetic nervous system. So does orgasm. The practice I outlined above will you lead you into that place almost instantly. When you find yourself moving out of the state repeat and rinse and repeat again. Just keep going back to this practice when you find yourself moving out of your center. Do as often as your feel necessary. You can't overdose on this practice. Regarding the breathing mimicry. That is awesome that you noticed that you and other people "mirror" each other. This is one of the first steps in creating rapport consciously and becoming empathetic. Nice job. Now move it from the noticing state to a state of intention to make it more permanent in your consciousness. This is a VERY important skill to learn. You can quiet and calm another person by matching their breathing and then start to slow down your own breathing. Most of the time, people will subconsciously begin to match you. Try to create some affinity or rapport first before you start because that makes it a little easier. It is fun to practice and you wont hurt anyone. -

In my conversations with other women and in my own experiences, woman naturally creates a spiritual embryo when the kundalini starts to move and mature. Women don't speak of it much because it tends to get poo poo'd and ridiculed by the traditionalists. I have also watched a flat bellied woman grow a belly that looked about 5 months pregnant during an exercise I was leading. It took about 5 minutes to manifest and was gone that evening. s -

Here's a way to access, the way in to that zero point state where all potentiality lies. Like all the powerful, useful stuff it is simple and elegant. I learned this from Dan Winter. He calls it the Pi breath. Take a deep breath and exhale. After exhalation take another breath but make it 1/3 shorter in length on the inhale. Repeat, keep making your breath 1/3 size shorter on the inhale than the previous one. Keep going until you have no more breaths. Sit and experience the silence without breaths. Between the ingoing and the outgoing of breath is where the true power lies while your body rests. Now begin, when you are ready, your normal breathing and continue with your ceremony, quiet times, ritual, practices. I do this when I really want to amp up access to That. Do not worry or get caught up about making it exactly 1/3. It is your intention to do so that makes it powerful. This is one of those secrets that people bitch about that no one ever wants to share. If one can't see the value in this exercise there is much that person is not ready for. lol s -

Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson talks about the warrior-healer- teacher-priest in Daoism . He heavily foot notes his work and usually has huge bibiliographies. There's proof. I am satisfied with it. No, I don't feel like dragging down my qigong textbooks and laboriously typing in the research. http://www.qigongmedicine.com/ is his website. He is the one you should be corresponding with about this. He does answer personal emails. I just wanted to add if you do practice your warrior arts this is your natural progression. You can not help to go from warrior to Sage as a natural progression of your practice over your life. Ask the elders on the list.

A long time associate of mine is a retired famous dominatrix. She would have quite a bit to say about this article. Check with her if you want to know from someone who practices this art. She is also a sexual shaman and has mature kundalini. Why don't you contact her if you think your problems are because of being too yin a male. She is pretty balanced between her Yin and Yang but she can demonstrate when necessary the most dominant authentic yang female. She no longer practices as a dominatrix but maybe you would benefit from interacting with a healthy strong sexual female. She can have quite the insight into the human condition. Here is her website. She used to specialize in training males into men of knightly character who knew how to respect and treat the Feminine. She gives Shaktipat also and is a competent healer and empath. There are people on this forum who are friends with her and I know would probably recommend her to you also. http://kundalini-teacher.com/ She and I are both natural alphas but her approach to training is different than mine. In my opinion, the author of that article has an ax to grind and is not reliable source of info. good luck, s
