Consider this then. If anything and everything we thought was instantly manifested what would the world be like? Can you live 24 hours 7 days awake without having any negative or harming thoughts about anyone else or even yourself? Do you ever indulge yourself in self critical and self punishing thoughts? Much knowledge is hard to absorb and use because it requires one also to have virtue. Can you image how some on this board would be if there anger and sarcasm and judgment in words was instantly manifested? I think it would be a smaller place. Virtue in the Chinese culture is another way to define power. A Buddhist told me years ago that the powerful energy stuff is not revealed to students until living the Noble Eightfold Path is second nature to them. With great power comes great responsibility. People can barely be expected it seems to speak kindly of one another now. Can you imagine the chaos that would ensue if everyone on the streets at rush hour in downtown NY had the power to instantly manifest what they wanted while they are stuck in gridlock? Jesus said that as a man thinks in his heart so he is. Outward actions come from inner thoughts held in the heart. Much of what is powerful is simple and that makes it difficult for people to see it ... even when it is right in front of their face. Masters walk among us sharing every day. There was a Twilight Zone episode that explored that notion of having the ability to manifest instantly what you are thinking. It is still pretty creep and scary if you consider what the story is telling us. It's called "It's a Good Life." It was first broadcast in 1961. also look up the Benedictines. Part of their order role is to offer hospitality to strangers. Locally, both places offer utilitarian private retreats, self directed, in the forests with places for contemplation and meditation. They are usually fairly inexpensive, like about $60 a night. Meals are usually extra but they tend to have full kitchens that you are allowed to bring your own foodstuffs. These two don't discriminate. More than Catholics are allowed to use their facilities. It is worth checking out. Here I mistakenly made a reservation at the retreat up in the Sangre de Christo mountains which is like the the Himalyans of the west. Winter is not a good time to go there unless you are prepared to rough it with a 4wd. Also you must bring your own food. They are 30 miles away from the nearest small town. So there is a diversity in what's offered depending where you are. I also find Buddhist retreats and other ashrams are available and inexpensive. s

thanks, phore. I must say psychic mastery is not a reliable indication of enlightenment. I would trade one for the other. Actually, lately I am thinking I would trade enlightenment for being Love self-realized. Santi, with his own family, is up in NYC with his extended family enjoying the holidays. Finally, I hope he gets to relax now with all the abuelas and tios and primos and primas around to spoil his two little girls. love and peace s

no, you are not but you seem to be terribly interested and motivated in attributing dark, financial, and selfish desires to everything he and I say and do. Santi and his family are still in deep mourning over the death of their 14 year old son in October. This will be the first Christmas without him. Santi is pretty much attending to his family and their needs now and doesn't have much interest in a lot of other things other than remaining strong and healthy for them. But he still answers people's questions...for free...if they want to know. So wish him good will and peace for his family instead rather than hurtful thoughts. s

It runs for 24 hours so it is not necessary for you to be in the chat room to benefit. You can just tune in during your regular meditations. We used to ask for Skype 4.0 because it was more stable and didn't break down as often when the energy was flowing. But we don't get too many complaints about the new version now. No need for mic or cam. Opening those up makes the chat room unstable, especially when we start getting about 20 in the room. We have had upwards to 50 and the energy can totally destabilize people's chat box or throw them right off the internet. s

We won't know until about 5 minutes before we open the chat room. That's why it would be good to PM silatyogi before. He runs the chats.
