All are invited to participate. It is a communal, global event. Our students often contribute as a form of service. Giving and receiving are the same. The more the merrier. Shakti loves to be shared. You are welcome. My pleasure. -
Global Shaktipat for Guru Purnima, July 25, Sunday
ShaktiMama replied to ShaktiMama's topic in General Discussion
We never set any limitation. We are a conduit not the source. We have no control over who gets it and who doesnt. We often set a theme to provide a point of focus. Shakti is for all who need. The cup is always full of Living Water. Other Masters, Beings, etc are always present. It is a cooperative affair. It is Universal, Timeless, and All Are Invited. s -

IMO, Santi bends over backwards to serve his students because he loves them so much.He is more compassionate than me. It is a two way thing and times like these are when the student needs the teacher the most. s

I will respond to this first: I would say choose your Master or your Mistress carefully. IMO, whomever you choose to be your guru their job is to turn the adoration of the external guru to the guru/master/mistress within you, the person doing the surrendering. Some people put more energy into choosing their fantasy football team than they do in choosing a master. I live in Colorado where the mountain, Pikes Peak is. It is over 14000 feet high. You can drive to the top in a couple of scary hours. When you get to the top you can buy a t shirt that says, "Real men don't use guard rails." The teacher you choose functions for many as a guard rail. It keeps you from going over the edge to crash and burn. There is every year a race to the top of the mountain. If you are a professional driver you can get up there in the record of about 11 minutes and 31 seconds. Here is a video of the last leg of the Pikes peak race a couple of weeks ago in a porche with the camera inside the driver's car: Some of us are professional drivers on the path and some of us are rank noobs and there are many that fall in between. If you are a professional driver with training and experience and you know your vehicle and what kind of fuel you are pumping through it, then go ahead and run your practice without guard rails. I do it and it is awesome. I love taking risks but it is not for everybody. Obviously you are comfortable in your vehicle and testing the boundaries of the spiritual frontier. Many are not and they should not without some serious coaching and introspection. Tantra can be about running outside the boundaries of the status quo spiritual practice to reach union with the divine. You are doing well. s

Your description of the child like state as an example of grounding is spot on. I could not have said it better myself. In fact, I shared it with my kundalini support list. Yes...those vids are part of an ecstatic practice. They look like some of the classes I had been in with Jin Fa or Santiago or some of my own classes. It's really about healing ourselves and transforming our internal wet ware to carry greater intensity of energies. When that is done we do become more like little children and our perception becomes innocent. There is no place for being a jaded cynic. Yes, there is a difference between the electric and magnetic flows and each serves its own purpose. It is good to achieve mastery of self with both flows. I am not there yet. Spontaneous movement is about becoming a clear channel. It is quicker and more efficient than stillness I have found. It is not a path for everyone nor could it be. At the higher levels the vessel begins to dissolve and only the current remains. My challenge is to remain present and centered during the dissolving. Our bodies are vessels of alchemy. It is the nexus point on this planet for the flow between heavenly and earthly energies. We are constantly transmuting from immaterial to material and back again with our bodies. The mastery comes in doing that with conscious awareness. That energy called kundalini or n/om speeds up the process or brings the vessel up to speed faster. Baby's pose or child's pose will help discharge the over amped energy too. It is really not so much a discharge actually although that is what it feels like but a normalization of flow from an area of higher intensity to lower intensity. This is where it becomes important in healing as a transference of energies. Trees are natural recyclers and will embrace you as you have found. I also have my students rub their foreheads on the ground when they are in baby's pose. It feels soooo good when the energy is high. Yes, a rope to God for me would be similar to the central channel. There are many correspondences in the major spiritual traditions. They are not always exact but some of them are pretty damn close. It is fun to look for the similarities rather than the differences between traditions. At the higher levels, with the higher sense perception, everything starts to look much like the same except for the spin a cultural window puts on it. At the lower levels it is difficult if not impossible to map one tradition over another. It's obvious to me you have experiential understanding rather than have been parroting a book. Thanks for the conversation. s

Nope. I had used a free fractal program I found on the web back them. s

Brad has said, "there are no kundalini accidents in the Bush." Based on my experience that is absolutely right. My opinion is that kundalini practice is not something that should be a solitary practice. It should be done in a group. When the bushmen get over amped with kudnalini or the n/om they will seek someone to dance and shake with. They have to discharge all that extra energy by direct physical contact. They will take their sweat and rub it on each other which among other things is filled with electrolytes which would facilitate energy transfer. We build up like a bio electric capacitor. Eventually we reach a limitation set by our own internal wet ware and we have to discharge extra current (kundalini) or we get something people call kundalini syndrome. This is difficult to discharge if we are in isolated, solitary practice. Also it is difficult to raise such levels and quantities of energy in isolation. Through our practices we transform the capacity of our wetware to hold a higher charge without frying. Kundalini also causes our body to "rewire" to do so. This sharing of energy does create harmony in the group and facilitates healing. Shakti loves to be shared. Master Jin Fa of Vancouver, BC, a shaolin grandmaster teaches a form of chi gong that is spontaneous movement, filled with shaking, and blissful. Not only were there postures or movements he taught but he also taught mudras. I remember one in particular that circulated heart energy for bliss. The couple of times we taught together he marveled at the students ability to progress so quickly in his style of qigong. He did not understand the depth or effectiveness of the processes the Dr Morris and I were teaching. He thought it was because they were westerners. Sifu Dan Ferrera in Michigan studied with Jin Fa if people are interested in learning that style of qigong. Jin Fa doesnt really teach anymore due to his advanced age. If you go learn with Sifu Dan tell him you heard about him from me. He's a good man and a real chi monster of energy. Great healing skills. s

I am an ecstatic mystic myself. Inappropriate and unconventional for sure is my practice and I have been violently attacked for it. I still get attacked. Even Dr. Morris told me I was crazy. The levels of bliss and ecstasy that he observed in me frightened and amazed him. He told me, "you scare people with that." Bliss and ecstasy is dangerous to the status quo and the modern world is anti bliss. I am also one of the most grounded people you will meet. I am the earth and I am also totally lost, consumed in the joy of the divine. Grounded is not about control to me. It is about having a strong earth element. Inappropriate and unconventional is a lot about not being politically correct, nor following party lines about how spiritual practice is done. But, to be clear, it in not about sexually irresponsible behavior. As a teacher it is not about getting my needs met thru the students. People go where they need to go to get training and hopefully, do not give their personal authority away to their teacher. If they are grounded they tend not to or do so in a common sense, self protective way. One needs to learn how to be grounded in the earth element to have an effective lifetime practice. It is a ruse of unethical teachers (they may not see it as unethical or a problem) to use that high that is generated by lack of grounding to manipulate students and create attachment to the teacher. I am definitely not saying Brad does this but many, many other teachers do. Some from a lack of awareness thinking they are the source of the high. Others do it deliberately. One can be happy, unconventional, and grounded. One can know the source of ecstasy and bliss comes from within and not from any outside source. As I tell my students over and over and over, "I am not the source of the bliss you are feeling. That is your own energy you feel. I am only a catalyst and guide. You are the source of your own ecstasy." Only seeking clarity, s

Anyone out there know of a treatment or even cure for Asthma?
ShaktiMama replied to Moonbar's topic in General Discussion
Asthma Qigong by Ted J. Cibik, a medical qigong doctor. He cured his own asthma. I met the guy. He knows his stuff. Ted's site For symptomatic relief there is technique you can use to loosen a tight rib cage so you can breathe easier. Even people who don't have problems with asthma can feel their intercostal muscles loosening when they do this. Find your sternum. Lay two fingers, sword and fire fingers, gently on top of the skin above the sternum. just slightly touching. Take a deep breath ( i know this is hard during an attack but any little bit you can do helps.) As you take the breath, move the skin across the sternum with your fingers, towards the left side of your chest. Or if you are using your left hand towards the right side of your chest. You are just moving the skin, gently, on top of the fascia. When you exhale, let the skin return back to it's original position. Do this two times. In about 1 minute you should start to feel some relief. It works so well most people think you are a magician. It is neuro vascular point that helps you relax the muscles of the rib cage. -
What is great about him is are his books are looks into a cross cultural phenomenon, spiritual awakening by a cosmic energy many of us call shakti kundalini. Ropes of god are found in different spiritual traditions from Jacob's ladder to the rainbow bridge. I made this image back in 2000. It shows what I see with my inner vision about the universe. s

He is not very grounded according to my TCM friends who have taken his classes and tends to be overly affectionate with the juicy Shaktis say some of my dear female friends/students who have taken his classes. 'Nuff said, yes? s

helping thouse who do not know much about taoism and are still young?
ShaktiMama replied to mewtwo's topic in General Discussion
I have been teaching about kundalini awakening for years. Occassionally I get the person asking me about siddhis, to teach them. They are real but they can be impermanent if you don't stop on the path and nurture and develop them. Its about showing us what we can develop in our potential to be complete human beings. I had some amazing siddhis when my kundalini was opening but they were more on the psychic side: precognition, clairvoyance, telepathy, 360 degree vision. I also had some instances of super human strength and some wild energy transmission stuff. Some of them still remain but not near the super sadhu level that they were in the beginning.Siddhi development is spontaneous when the kundalini awakens. What is interesting is that it left me with the assurance that these things were possible if I wanted to go back and develop them. The interesting thing is once you advance on your path past the initial siddhi development stage it's a big, "so what. What's the big deal?" kinda thing. It's kindergarten, baby stuff. The kundalini will push people into detox and virtue development which is more important than siddhis. I will not teach people who focus on acquiring siddhis. I tell them that is not the reason for the journey. They are just distractions and side show amusement parks on the way. I have seen people get stuck there and not progress. People should not bug you once you say no. Maybe you are not being firm enough. I will cut people off if they don't listen. They are more trouble than they are worth teaching in the long run. The ones that keep insisting are usually some type of energy vamp. People who keep asking will not value what you are teaching. What I find in teaching my students is once the kundalini awakes they come to me to help them manage these spontaneous siddhis because they can be so disrupting to one's every day life. be well, s -
I found when I tried that recommendation that if I ate too big of a potato I would have really wild dreams and disturbed sleep because the serotonin levels are unbalanced. So one that is a size of a golf ball or a tangerine, like a new potato, works best for me. I can tell the difference in sleep quality if I don't have something like that before bed. It is better and more deeper if I have a little something without protein before bed. Everyone is different so you will have to try it out yourself. Yes, Potatoes not Prozac is a very interesting book. Some quizzes in there to help you determine if you have a true sugar sensitivity. The author of the website wrote: Potatoes not Prozac. s

His promoter walked away from working for him. She now is representing a variety of people, including KAP for next January in Oregon. From what I understand from talking to her his business skills are subpar so he really needs someone to actively help him with marketing and production. So far he does require an apprenticeship. I think it might be 3years if I remember correctly. But once the n/om is up and running (which really is shakti kundalini) it's not too hard to do the teaching and healing methodology on your own especially if you have experience with shaking and spontaneous movement qigong and some have some decent energy healing skills. His system is very spontaneous. You do have to learn the Bushmen world view which is quite different and it's crazy coyote wisdom. If you want to learn the bushmen system you are going to have to spend some real time with him and a trip or two to Africa to dance with the bushmen. Bushman cave paintings show the n'om traveling up the back. One of them has described it as feeling like very hot water rising up the back. The real shaking besides being healing is very sensual and sexual in a tantric way in the group dancing. If you don't have some strong boundaries around sex it is easy to get carried away into the blissful, sexual nature of it just like when the kundalini begins to rise. Divorce happens as well as other long term relationship breakups in Keeney's groups because it is so intimate. Like tantra you have to learn to see each other in your practice groups as spiritual lovers not physical lovers. The bushman practice is very fiery. If you look at Brad you can see how red he is even in his coloring. Also as Santi's wife said, "now there's a man who gets a lot of sex." As the Bushmen say... Big Love from the Big God. s

FINALLY! If you take his work to heart you will go on a very big blissful adventure. It's all about the Shakti, baby. s

One of my senior students, Troy, who has been with me now for about 5 years, is an apprentice to Brad and the Bushmen. He also loves and practices kunlun. Make of that what you will. Much of my initial kundalini awakening was full of shaking, not unlike Brad's when he had his initial vision in the college chapel. I got away from shaking because it seemed so not very pc in the yogic world. I have since returned to it and teach a qigong form of it with Santiago. When I teach in Utah, where Troy lives and yes, he is LDS, we would end Saturday night with a long drumming circle around the blazing fire until very late in the night. It is very ecstatic. I love the whole process and sometimes use the Bushman process of passing N'om in shaking to give what we consider shaktipat. There are a lot more people in the Salt Lake City area who have awakened their kundalini because of Troy and his shaking, ecstatic drumming meetings. Two summers ago Troy went to the Khalahari to dance with the Bushmen. He became so ill he almost died. Imagine that. Troy has great skills with energy and healing. By profession he is a physical therapist. If you would like an intro or want to go to one of his events in Utah let me know and I will pass your name to him. I have met one of the Bushman who appeared at one of his fire dances. Very sweet energy. Brad also uses the absurd, what one might call Coyote wisdom, in his teachings and healing work. That is the way the Bushman work. s

Free 72 hour Gobal shaktipat for spiritual awakening and for healing the Gulf Crisis & Animals & Humans Involved with Santiago and Susan. JULY 9 - 11. Peace & God Bless SD You Simply tune in and keep tongue on the roof of the mouth and relax & breath deep. Ask your higher self to tune you into the GLOBAL SHAKTIPAT transmission. If you need a break just tune in from Sun up to Sun down. How to participate during GLOBAL Shaktipats It is simple to participate in the GLOBAL Shaktipat. If you are sleeping at the time transmission is set you can tune in later. Second: all you need to do is to do your normal meditation posture. You can even sit in a chair or lay down. It helps to have your spine straight and relaxed to facilitate the flow of energy. If you sit in a chair, sit with your palms face up on your lap to receive the energy. Breath your normal breath. If you are familiar with abdominal breathing, use that. It helps to sit in a quiet place where you will be undisturbed. You may play music if you wish. Third: Say in your heart, "I give consent to receive Shaktipat. May the Divine bless me as I am willing to receive." Fourth: Maintain an attitude of gratitude and give thanks to your Creator for the transmission. Fifth: Think and visualize of your head and heart chakras opening to receive just like a flower opening to receive the sun's light.... You may experience many symptoms, a few symptoms or no symptoms during the transmission. Some common ones are heat, coolness, feeling pressure on your skin or in your body, a sensation of a breeze or wind moving in the room, visions. Your hands or other parts of your body may feel tingling. You may feel lightheaded. Safety considerations: Please drink plenty of water during that 24 hour period and try to get some quality rest. Shakti brings about change and can some times detox negative energies from the energy and body rather rapidly. To benefit the most out of the experience place the tongue on the roof of the mouth on the upper palate above front teeth. This connects your conception and governor meridians and aids you in having a safer experience. Also make sure to afterward, or within that 24 hour period, go for a nice walk barefoot on Mother Earth so you help to ground your energies. Maintain your spine ERECT naturally. Only Beings that speak the truth are allowed to participate. This event is for the blessing and benefit of Mother Earth and all the beings who walk upon her. To show your gratitude: Please donate to earthquake relief organizations: http://www.haitihosp...tienne/Home.htm http://doctorswithoutborders.org/ http://worldvision.com/ http://mercycorps.org/ http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ http://islamicrelief.com/

You seem to have had a shift lately. But these are your experiences you share and not the experiences of others. s

I agree. It is meant to be disturbing. It is not safe for maintaining your comfortable status quo. Walking into your fear and letting it consume you, a type of Chod, can be a liberation as well. s

I have not meditated in a graveyard but I have walked through a few on my travels. In one of my experiences, Dr. Glenn Morris and I were traveling by car to Calgary, Alberta to do a seminar. We left from Denver, CO and by late afternoon we were at the Little Big Horn Battlefield National Monument in Montana. It is really now just an enormous graveyard of Native American Warriors and American Calvary soldiers. The place covers a very big area of rolling prairie grass land with the beautiful Rocky Mountains due west of us in view. Little Big Horn Battlefield Glenn and I split up for our own meditative walks. We were both very moved and felt impact from the experience and did not really speak to each other about it after we got back in our car. For me one of the things that struck out greatly was the difference between Native graves and Soldier graves. Some of the combatants were buried where they fell. The Native graves out in the battlefield were attended to. Gifts of things, like bright ribbons, coins, tobacco, pictures were scattered around each individual grave which was really nothing more than piece of material no bigger than a ruler sticking out of the ground. There was a sense of peace and settled silence as my friend and student and I stood before them. It was obvious these were people who cared for and honored. We broke cigarettes to place at the sites for honoring the fallen. We walked around the path to where the fallen Soldiers graves were. The markers and ground were bare. Even the grass wasn't as green as by the Native graves. It felt empty and hollow. I could feel pain, loneliness, of being unloved emanating from the site that I did not feel from the Native graves. We left tobacco also. Up on one of the bluffs overlooking the battlefield, one of the other students traveling with us was doing his tai chi in the windy, bright afternoon sunlight. He is a tai chi instructor. He was vibrating finely all over his body, his head moving in a mini orbit once he got back into the car. Glenn said nothing really as he got back in to the car and we were silent for much of the rest of the trip till we reach Calgary early in the morning. My suggestion would be to get used to being in a graveyard during the day before you start meditating at one in the full moon. I cannot even drive past cemeteries filled with fallen soldiers without seeing battle field scenes in my head and hearing screams of fear and agony and feeling their desperation and loneliness. I would say prayers for the dead are a helpful service. s
