Go to China and train with Master Duan Zhi Liang this winter. http://www.gideonenz.com/China2010.html He is my medical qigong and wuji qigong teacher, 106 years old, and the lineage heir. Well worth the trip to learn from a real master. "Trained in his family's system of wuji (primordial chaos) qigong since the age of six, Master Duan has also mastered the internal arts of hsing-yi quan, baguazhang, and taiji, specializing in the use of the sword. Like his father and grandfather before him, master Duan is also a devout catholic and he has spent time in the Vatican training to be a member of the clergy." Gideon, who is leading the trip, is a personal friend of mine. Not only is he a doctor of medical qigong but an instructor of yoga and other martial arts. He also adores Shakti. He is full on awake in the kundalini department. His sidddhi is direct knowledge/insight into different martial arts/spiritual traditions. He is an awesome resource to talk with and fun to be around. It's rare to find an expert in Daoist medical qigong and yoga. He is also a herbalist. He was the main editor for Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson's Medical Qigong books. I hated flying over there but I might consider doing it again for this. Love, Susan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw-aDENlHWA

Master Duan sees no conflict between Daoisim and Christianity. He was at the Vatican studying for the priesthood when WW1 broke out and had to go home to China. He is a big bundle of love, calling us his children when he taught. Tears would come to his eyes and his voice would choke up when he spoke of his love of God and for God's children. He gave us all crosses that he blessed for us to wear. He would spontaneously break out into song. As I have known for a long time, internal cultivation makes one happy. Chi makes one smile and laugh. He was proof to me. Being with him radically changed my ideas about what getting old is all about. What a mind!. Spoke 5 languages (english wasnt very good) and his intellect very sharp. Always had this smile on his face, laughing to himself. When he would practice wuji I put my hand on his back and you feel the energy pulsing through him. He would touch you and even the next day the spot where he touched you would still be very warm. He also smokes a pipe, eats anything he wants, ballroom dances, and drinks rice wine which is 150% proof alcohol. He loves the ladies in a very sweet loving way. A courtly gentleman that wears a cape and at times uses a cane. He believed that negative emotions harmed the body, telling us of one of his patients who was in the hospital because of liver problems, "because she is very angry." He can change the constitution of wine to water. He makes his sword fingers, points to the wine and in about 5 minutes the potency is much much less. He taught us 8 hours a day, non stop except for a break for lunch for two weeks straight. We did about 4 hours of table work a day learning tui na. There is automatic transmission just being around him and my chi levels and my healing and psychic abilities ramped up quite a bit just being with him. I am trying to talk myself into talking that tedious plane ride back to Beijing. He won't be around too much longer.

Global Shaktipat starting now till Sunday night at 11pm
ShaktiMama posted a topic in General Discussion
GLOBAL SHAKTIPAT TO ALL & MOTHER EARTH & THE GULF OF MEXICO & THE ANIMALS: Starting Now and until Sunday July 4, 11pm, Miami FL time. You Simply tune in and keep tongue on the roof of the mouth and relax & breath deep. Ask your higher self to tune you into the Global Shaktipat transmission. Peace & God Bless you. Santiago and Susan If you need a break just tune in from Sun up to Sun down. Sunday will also be an international day of prayer, meditation, and fasting. How to participate during Global Shaktipats It is simple to participate in the Global Shaktipat. First, it does run for 24 hours so if you are sleeping at the time transmission is set you can tune in later. Second: all you need to do is to do your normal meditation posture. You can even sit in a chair or lay down. It helps to have your spine ... See Morestraight and relaxed to facilitate the flow of energy. If you sit in a chair, sit with your palms face up on your lap to receive the energy. Breath your normal breath. If you are familiar with abdominal breathing, use that. It helps to sit in a quiet place where you will be undisturbed. You may play music if you wish. Third: Say in your heart, "I give consent to receive Shaktipat. May the Divine bless me as I am willing to receive." Fourth: Maintain an attitude of gratitude and give thanks to your Creator for the transmission. Fifth: Think and visualize of your head and heart chakras opening to receive just like a flower opening to receive the sun's light.... See More You may experience many symptoms, a few symptoms or no symptoms during the transmission. Some common ones are heat, coolness, feeling pressure on your skin or in your body, a sensation of a breeze or wind moving in the room, visions. Your hands or other parts of your body may feel tingling. You may feel lightheaded. How to participate safely Please drink plenty of water during that 24 hour period and try to get some quality rest. Shakti brings about change and can some times detox negative energies from the energy and body rather rapidly. To benefit the most out of the experience place the tongue on the roof of the mouth on the upper palate above front teeth. This connects your Yin & Yang circuits and aids you in having a safer experience. Also make sure to afterward, or within that 24 hour period, go for a nice walk barefoot on Mother Earth so you help to ground your energies. Maintain your spine ERECT naturally. Only Beings that speak the truth are allowed to participate. This event is for the blessing and benefit of Mother Earth and all the beings who walk upon her. To show your gratitude: Please donate to earthquake relief organizations: http://www.haitihosp.org/lHopital_de_la_Communaute_Haitienne/Home.htm http://doctorswithoutborders.org/ http://worldvision.com/ http://mercycorps.org/ http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ http://islamicrelief.com/ -

I am not talking about any particular school or tradition. You could create your own, record it, and use it. Ask Santi if you can come sit in a class to review because you are feeling a little isolated. It always helps to be in the sangha because we get caught up in our own beliefs about what is going on and we just need a reality check. Also Shakti likes to create community. The energy likes to gather upon itself and it expands exponentially the more people are in the group. The review on Thursday is not always there because Santi is now working as a music producer for a new TV series in Miami and he is in the studio that evening so he can tell you what better night to attend. You do have the passwords to the Ustream classes? Are you reviewing there the classes in the archives and practicing with Santi? love, s -

we can meet on Skype. I have taught it in the online shaktipat sessions. It's nice to have a little personal direction the first time. It will take about ten minutes. DId you get far enough in classes that you learned the triangular breathing from Santi? That would also help as would 4 point breathing. But, never the less, we can set up a time on skype and we can review. just let me know. Feelings come and go. They are not always reliable. As one of my mentors told me, Dr. Larry Jensen, who first gave me Shaktipat...."feeling the energy is the booby prize. Just the fact that you can participate and are in it is more important." I will tell you a little secret. Santi and I don't always feel each other's energy strongly. In fact, we laugh about it and say, "Throw another marshmallow this way," because a lot of times it feels like we are bouncing marshmallows off of each other unless we are using specific techniques. People have to be really blasting for me to feel them these days. It's like a fish swimming in the ocean. It doesnt really know it is in the water because it lives there all the time. After awhile, swimming in a sea of energy as a matter of one's life, it is just another thing I take for granted and my energy body has become accustomed to. Now, a real chi beast, like Pak Mohammed in London, one of Santi's teachers, when he is doing healing work on my body, he can barely be touching me and it feels like needles of fire going through my skin. I swear it makes me yelp and cry out. He says to me, "if you had no blocks there it would not hurt." So, I would say the cleaner the channels the less you are going to feel over all because it is friction against flow that causes sensation, IMO, unless you are using some other kind of technique with awareness. I am more sensitive to refined states of energy that I would more characterize as states of Consciousness. Those can feel very blissful to me. So, instead, you have to look at other things that may be happening not just what you are feeling. What is happening in your life? What is different now than is different from yesterday? much shakti love, Susan -

Send me a pm thru face book and I will add you. Susan Carlson, Denver CO Just as a gentle aside one day your whole life becomes a meditation, your walk a meditation walk, your breath a meditation breath. Until then..I had someone share they used to sit in a chair with a blanket over their head to help make their own meditation space. Then they would use noise cancelling ear phones with music that helped them get in a meditative state. There are four kinds of meditation: Quiet mind, quiet body. Active mind, quiet body. Active mind, active body. Quiet mind, active body. Start with where you feel most comfortable. For most it is active mind and working on quieting the mind. To me that's like asking a drunk driver to clean up the mess and take care of the injured after the accident. I am sure it's possible but it's probably overly problematic and stressful and will take a lot longer. Guided meditations or guided visualizations are good places to start. I also find in training students if we do demanding exercises of the body first it becomes quiet in its tiredness and it makes the mind easier to notice and train. The quiet body can lead the mind into a quieter state. I find that easier than trying to get to a quiet mind first especially if you have no great teacher around to guide you. I would suggest OSHO's kundalini and dynamic meditations which you can buy off their website. 45 minutes of active movement meditation as those meditations do prepares the body for quiet mind, quiet body. This way you can get a feeling for what quiet mind and quiet body feels like. When you can feel it then it becomes easier to recognize where you are at. None of the four types of meditations are more superior than the other. They all have their place. There are many systems out there which teach one of those kinds of meditatons which you can choose from. It just depends on where you are at and where you want to go, what your goals are. Find out first what meditation is. You will get some different answers. You can notice stillness effects almost immediately but that is rare unless you are sitting with a teacher of whom can give you by resonance a feeling of stillness. Also I know a breathing technique that brings almost absolute stillness in a couple of minutes. (no...you are not dead. ) If you want to get into the higher techniques, esoterics, have the time, etc of meditation and become a purist or "professional" then there are different ways to go. If, like me, you have a demanding job, work, environment etc, its nice to know there are other things to do like what I have mentioned above. You do NOT have to be an experienced meditator to participate in these meditations. Sitting quietly somewhere with an intent to participate for about 10 minutes is enough. This is not meant to be hard or difficult. Willingness and intent trump technique most every time. Those caveats about drinking water is because shakti kundalini is "hot" for a lot of people in the body. Also it starts cleansing the body and that can increase the work load on the kidneys. Drinking water, dont drown yourself!, will help keep that overload from happening. If you start having headaches you are not drinking enough. Fruit, especially coconut water is good, because of the natural electrolytes found in them. Straight fruit juice is usually too sugary for this so better to get whole fruit like melons. The nice thing about Shakti Kundalini is it is in charge and you are basically along for the ride. That is really good news for us n00bs. It is Intelligent and will do what is best for you and what helps that to happen is that you relax and have no expectations. That is very difficult for people to do. Just speaking from my own experiences... s -
nicely said. s

Personally, I think suffering is related to attachment. I know that is addressed in other traditions and people can bring quotes and debates on this out the yin yang but I am just speaking of what I learned based on my own personal experiences without the benefit of those traditions. Fighting against What Is is a surefire way to ensure that drama and suffering are ever present in our daily life. What is the antidote or the answer? Yes, that will bring out the theorist from the other traditions but I will share what works from my own experiences in trying to hash it out myself. Relax, breathe, and let it go. Speaking in the context of having kundalini running through my body...not if I don't: This means relax into the flow of energy, whether that is kundalini or the flow between heaven and earth. For many using the mind works to accomplish this., For many of us using the body to stop fighting against What Is works. The blend of both, IMO, is the superior approach. When we relax into the flow pains and obstacles are revealed. When I work with my hypnosis clients the deeper or more relaxed they get the more pains will show up. This is because the body splints areas of injuries and discomfort and when those splinting muscles start relaxing the pains come to the forefront again. The same thing is true with the emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. The more relaxed those structures become that support an injured area the injured area starts being noticed again. Then we can get to original or source issues and letting them go. No,*I* won't start another thread about kundalini and shaktipat. love, s

I received a response to this post but the person felt the thread was hijacked and wrote me personally. I would like to comment a little bit about what they wrote to further the conversation about shaktipat. I hope they don't mind. They wrote: "I also pray, which is new to me, since I am not religious, and haven't been that spiritual in my life. And with my increasing spirituality, I find it challenging to describe what's going on with others, i.e. friends and family. To use the word 'divine' is so new to me. The energy so far seems to be spiraling in through my head. I have already had some welcome releases: jaw, eyes, shoulder. When twisting around the spine, I could tell that it could even help my hip to release. Fascinating stuff, when you trust this energy. One day the energy was trying to bust out of my scalp, even felt a flickering sensation in my crown. Makes me curious and excited about the path ahead of me. And I see your point about keeping microtension in the body so you don't bounce all over the place. Even sitting at my desk at work, not meditating, I feel movements beginning. My reply: It is a bit hard not to notice spiritual type feelings and words start to come up as this energy develops in the body. I really think that the purpose of kundalini...to speak in western terms...is to heal the body mind spirit matrix. When that is healed we begin to live in concert or harmony with All That Is, The Divine, The Dao, God, etc. Only the name is important to the practitioner. When we live in harmonious relationship with Nature life becomes one of pro-activity rather than a reactive knee jerk response to a situation. We no longer will be pulled around by our desires and the demands of a subconscious that never really advanced beyond the two year old developmental stage which focuses on survival and behaving defiantly as it establishes it's place in the world. The fact you can feel and sense the movement is great. One of the hardest things people have to do on this path is to develop sensitivity to energy flow. Then, as you said, we surrender to the flow and let the energy lead. This is definately not a path of the mind as primary instrument. Although not reviled as some do reviling the body and it's senses, it does takes it's place as one of the tools available to us as we develop energetically. Good work, s I suppose we could start a shaktipat 2 thread and leave this one to the debate.

when my crown chakra was opening I was shown it opening. yes many golden petals but...of such beauty. I have never seen a pic that does it justice. Very organic and it moves. Think of a sea anenome's movement in very gentle ocean current. I could see expansion and contraction of each individual petal. It was white gold and for some reason the image of it brought to mind the phrase "electron orbital". Kinda if you combine these pics qualities you might get an idea. s here are just the links http://www.chemistrydaily.com/chemistry/upload/7/70/HAtomOrbitals2.png http://www.organicchemistry.22web.net/basic/1ssmall.png

more like this color i dont hear much about spontaneous downward flow although I hear of crown awakenings first. Then it the next people really talk about is the heart opening. Sometimes this happens before the crown opens. I have heard some tell me that the down ward flow down the front feels cold. I dont know how that is related to apana flow...one of the pranas of the body. s the pic seems to come and go see here is the url http://bogard.110mb.com/electric%20blue.jpg

Whether my client is laying on a table, standing, or sitting, or it is long distance I "look" into the channel. If you are new to it just stand at the client's head and look down thru the crown of the head into the body. Dr. Johnson teaches how to do this in his first level medical qigong class if you are interested in formal training or you can buy his first volume on medical qigong. Your intent to "see" into the core channel will help you develop that skill. We are working with the area around the Baihu or Du Mai 20 and Sahasrara (crown) chakra if you are just learning for a reference point. Baihui means "one hundred meetings" and is the highest point of the Upper Dan Tian. "This refers to the ancient understanding that an individual can access and receive divine messages and spiritual intuitions through this point. The esoteric Daoists understand that the Baihui is one of the areas that directs the Heavenly Qi into the chamber of the Mysterious Elixir, located within the third ventricle of the Brain. The Baihi is sometimes known as the the upper gate of the Taiji Pole (central core), or the upper gate of the Seventh Chakra. ...." Johnson Vol 1 pg 229 Energetic Anatomy and Physiology. In my experience and personal practice the core channel connects the practitioner between heaven and earth so I see it as connected to the heavens and the center of the earth. The practitioner is a the nexus point between heaven and earth, a vessel of alchemy, as energies move from higher frequencies to lower frequencies, from less dense to more dense, from material to immaterial and back again. So it is important that the core be clear for these purposes. Looking into the core I have been privileged to see many things from past lives, to major archetypes and so on depending on what is shown to me. I don't go looking for specific things. I just depend on what the client tells me and what the core shows me. Inside the core can be anything from infinite silence to chaos depending on the person. I have found all kinds of astral critters to beautiful temples. It can be cluttered or empty. It can be radiant or dark. There is a huge variety. My role as a healer is to facilitate the restoration of balance and harmony. I dont try to change anything. I just rely on my refined sense of intuition and connection to tell me where to go and assist the body spirit mind complex to heal itself. hope that helps some. s
-
yes... my experience for years... is that that there is no difference between me and the core channel. I can also widen it at will although that is just a sensory perception because, like inside Dr. Who's police box, it has infinite dimension within. I also, during healing work/Shaktipat, will look within the person's core channel. Much is revealed and can be done. s

yep...being overly sensitive. no worries. yes her newsletter started in 93 and the gateway started in 96. She joined about the time it started. Kurt Keutzerwas also a member and wrote one of the first FAQs on K to appear on the net. I have great respect for her and the work she did. s

the kundalini gateway list was pretty much the only game in town. its the mother of all online support lists and many spiritual lists/sites grew out of it. Harsha-ji on the web (Harsha-ji, a disciple of Ramana was the one who told us it takes 3 years of regular yoga practice before k wakes up), Jerry Katz's non-duality salon, the Tummo Reiki world leader, Ifran, when he was scared shitless cause he had no idea what was going on, etc. We were all rubbing shoulders back then when it was maybe less than a hundred on the gateway list. We were catholics, pagans, hindus, witches, kabbalists, alchemists etc from all over the world with one thing in common...we did not know WTF was happening to us and most were vaguely aware or knew a little about K. We came together and pooled our resources and created a community of eclectic knowledge with which to help each other. It's still run by the second person who took over the list, Angelique from Vancouver. I also run the oldest kundalini sex list that was created a year or two after the gateway list. (don't get excited...it's pretty boring compared to da bums) I have almost been around since the very beginning of those lists. Maybe I came on within a year of the k list appearing. I was on a rocketmail account when i joined. I have watched and assisted 100s upon 100s of kundalini awakenings since the mid 90s globally on line and in person while in the early days I tried to manage my own awakening. (Manage aint the word for it. I just stepped back and let Shakti have her way with me.) the kundalini world online is very small and inbred for us elders. El collie was a good friend of Dr. Morris's. I was around when she committed suicide because she had difficulty managing her awakening. She had been in a horrible car accident and the pain from that accident plus the upheaval that kundalini brought into her life was too overwhelming so she killed herself. She was a wonderful resource for the kundalini babies. s

been doing this path for a little while and most of the time by myself so i had a lot of practice and a lot of fails. when I first started looking for info on k on the net in 95 only about 10 sites popped up in the hot bot search engine and 7 of them pointed to the same place. today it is about 16.1 million. everybody gotsa opinion and they want to tell you about it. if i had a dollar for every 17 year old who proclaimed himself a kundalini master on the internet...well... yep been a nurse since dirt was invented. ICU, CCU, PCU, SCU, Open Heart, TELE, GI recovery, Home Health, CM/QA. BSN from Uni of Miami in FL. Let my CCRN lapse, my ACLS/BCLS lapse and just have my CPHM cert in play. (cert professional in health management) because I work for Kaiser and with a team of hospitalists doing in pt review and repatriation. If you want your hospital stay covered by insurance and get good hospital care you gotta depend on me to be your advocate. s didnt know a man could not do his bidness without the light on.

I had a boyfriend, a tantric and Tai chi practitioner, whose first language was French. He found speaking to me in English tiring and harsh, "not good for love" he said, "the energies are so different." One day he started whispering to me in French. I don't speak french other than some basics I learned in 9th grade and certainly nothing that would come to the sophistication level of pillow talk. I asked, "what are you saying?" He smiled, "very bad things". I smiled back, "you could be telling me to take out the garbage and i would still think it was lovely." s

A generalization: it overlaps each other. It depends on what the practictioner brings to the table, not just in their current practice but what is their current mental, emotional, spiritual, physical state. Between Glenn and I and the wall we know that it could happen in an instant if everything was in place for some people. I don't know definatively what that is. There is a measure of uncertainity because it is a practice the student does not the teacher. Who knows how well people practice or whatever in their private life? In Morris's original system, and Santi will correct me if I am not being precise enough, run the micro orbit with the secret smile at least twice a day for 20 minutes each time. He was originally saying 6 months to a year as a general result. Santi has added refinements to make the process smoother and quicker over all but involves more time devoted to practice. A xing yi master told me three years for kundalini to awaken. A yoga master told me three years for kundalini to awaken. This was before I met Glenn or Santi. I would also add the Ming Men to the chong mai. I am not an expert in chinese medicine so someone else can weigh in on this. Kundalini rising can be very harsh to the kidney/adrenals. The adrenals start dripping adrenaline into the body. Kundalini actually activates all the endocrine system which causes a youthing, strengthening effect. An increased almost unmanageable sex drive and desire that is so strong it can be painful is often a part of it. The adrenaline kicks the body into Flight or Fight thru the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. If not mediated by parasympathetic activities which release hormones such as oxytoxin and vasopressin, like meditation, bonding, making love, singing, chanting, running the orbits, secret smile, etc. the kidney adrenals will start to fry. In extremis this can lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, from running on adrenaline all the time. Adrenaline is the body's own version of crystal meth. Seekers often attribute the high that kills their appetite and their need to sleep as proof of their awakening spirituality when really they are from the euphoric and stimulating effects of adrenaline and other released cathecholamines. What can compound these affects is that many westerners suffer from adrenal fatigue. We are addicted to stress, caffeine, drama, etc. which depletes the adrenals. Add kundalini awakening on top of that hypofunction and the awakening process can be difficult indeed. Of course, over all, training with someone giving you personal attention is going to predict quicker results than training in solitary. Personally, I do not recommend solitary practice. When the kundalini starts cleaning out the emotional body and a person starts experiencing siddis, visions, bizarre movements, etc it is nice to be part of a group or sangha to tell you you are not going crazy because other people have had similiar experience. Solitary practice can be dangerous and if you must do that at least have email contact with an experienced teacher and go visit them occassionally for check ins. It will help you from making wrong turns and possibly doing injury to yourself. s

I was ten years out from being a fundie. I left the church about 10 years earlier and had been deprogramming myself. I was in a transformational seminar based on EST when I met Larry. They really didn't tell us what they were doing nor did they use the word kundalini at that initial event until after the first couple of meditations that night. There are many, many people who have spontaneous and permanent awakening by "accident": drugs, trauma whether that is psychological, physical, mental, or spiritual, or dabbling in inner cultivation practices. That's what pretty much started the k support groups on the web in the mid 90s. People felt alone and isolated and did not know what was happening. Using diligent, smart, and appropriate, practice by which I mean like twice a day for 20 minutes with a proven system will take anywhere from 3-6 months to 3 years depending on the system. Dr. Glenn Morris used to tell me he based his system on ancient combat warrior systems that needed to access and develop a whole lot of power quickly. You never really knew when that enemy was going to be charge over the hill at you but it might be as little as three months travel time. If a tradition used something that would make you more vulnerable in battle it was discarded. If it meant you lived to fight another day it was included. s
