Crone/Wise Old Man are similiar. Crone energy is also similiar with Kali energy. I do not know if there is an equivalent for the Wise Old Man. I don't know if we can polarize the concept just into archetypes. I am just sharing literature about the Void. Exploring it for yourself will bring a deeper texture, a richness to understanding what the Void is.

esoteric medical qigong uses golden needles, etheric or invisible needles created from chi. I have used them, have had them used on me, and have seen other practitioners use them...get good results, similiar to regular needles.. I also watched a medical qigong doctor in China create and use them. You will see them utilized quite a bit for children and for getting to hard to reach places. fascinating world we live in. s -

its already here: http://thorpinstitute.com/ the electroaccuscope you can scan meridians with a probe and find the chi stagnation and fix it... Been around since the 80s. I have had treatments, It is amazing. you will find this machine in chiropractor offices, physical therapy practices, on sports teams for rehab, veterinarian offices (it was first used for equine injuries), etc... s i think next year I will get one for myself and to use in my healing practice. The 10k plus price tag has always held me back but I am going to get one in 2011 I think. -
to call out or request...to make an incantation or conjure... basically what he is asking me to do is to find out info. that is none of my business.

Kundalini is historically characterized as a feminine energy in spiritual traditions. Dr. Glenn Morris used to say about his own kundalini awakening, "I had to go thru hell to get to heaven." The kundalini process can be hellish. Learn the secret smile (google it) and do the microcosmic orbit. That will calm things down a bit. Also kundalini brings up your Shadow full on in your face to integrate. Some do, some don't.

A discussion about the Void from the Japanese Martial Arts perspective which is how I relate to that term is at the link. I am referring to the term "ku" as Void. There are only 5 energy centers in this system where there are 7 in the Hindu. The Void would encompass the top 3 chakras...throat, ajna, and crown. http://www.warrior-concepts-online.com/5elementsarticle-pt1.html These 5 elements are a little different from the Chinese system. If you want to read more of the esoterics of this then read Basho's The Book of 5 Rings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Book_of_Five_Rings an excerpt from this article re: the Void or No-thing The Book of Void Although short, the void book lists, philosophically, the nature of both human knowledge and other things. The void book expressly deals with "That which cannot be seen"; "By knowing things that exist, you can know that which does not exist." The Book of No-thing, according to Musashi, is the true meaning of the strategy of Ni Ten Ichi Ryu; it seems very esoteric in nature, in that he seems to note that you must learn to perceive that which you cannot understand or comprehend. He notes that in this Void, what can be comprehended are things which we do and see, such as the way of the warrior, martial arts and Ni Ten Ichi Ryu. At the same time, in the Void, things we do not do or see (which he calls Spirit), are part of the information which we perceive on a conscious level, but with which we have no physical relationship. It's arguable whether Musashi is referring to religious spirituality or if he is actually explaining a way to live your life and process thoughts. "In the void is virtue, and no evil. Wisdom has existence, principle has existence, the Way has existence, spirit is nothingness." In the above quote Musashi speaks of "virtue and no evil." This may mean "goodness and banishment of evil" or "purpose and non-existence of good and evil", and the exact meaning is open to debate. or read deeper about Mikkyo Buddhism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikky%C5%8D Crone discussion: http://www.spiritofmaat.com/archive/jun2/anderson.htm hope that helps. s

Yes, Cat. You are right. Generally, colors you see are associated with a chakra, a god/dess or archetype and also feelings, states of consciousness. One must look in context. Violet purple is generally around crown chakra or the Void or Crone energy. Interesting stuff. s

My perspective and orientation is different from yours. I look at Shakti, also known as Cosmic Energy, Divine Feminine, Baraka, Ruah, N/om, Shekinah, Holy Spirit and see much more than just the Hindu/ Taoist perspective. These terms describe the same phenomenon. My world view is kundalini shakti is a world wide cross cultural phenomenon present in all major spiritual traditions. Called by different names by different traditions but one in the same energy. Like the 5 blind men feeling different parts of an elephant, different cultures produce different accounts. My goal is to know and share a holistic understanding of what That Is. I am neither Daoist or Kashimir Shaviate. I don't believe we can precisely map systems over each other for example Hindu thought and Taoist thought. But I do believe one can see how one energy is manifested/experienced in different cultures. You want me to explain myself out of the Hindu or Taoist bucket? It won't happen. My experiences with kundalini have left me a generalist not an elitist attached to a specific tradition. I am not a purist or fundamentalist around doctrine regardless of what a specific tradition has written. I am an empiricist, a researcher, an experimenter with energy and consciousness. The higher one rises in esoteric mystical practices the more it all starts to look the same. One phenomenon viewed through many different windows over many thousands of years is still the One phenomenon behind the windows. Did you even review Dr. Enz's CV? If that won't feed your need for credible authority then there is nothing I will be able to produce to satiate that need. Dr. Johnson writes the the Ling Shen is most equivalent to what Christians call the Holy Spirit. In my book, the Holy Spirit is the active principle of God, just like Shakti is the active principle of Shiva. Ling Shen is the Supernatural Spirit which emanates as myriads of sparks of Divine Fire from the Dao according to Dr. Johnson, p66, Vol I, Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy Yes, Yin and Yang. Expressions of relationships. Sometimes Shakti has yang qualities, sometimes shakti has yin qualities. I feel and experience all the time, every day. Hot, cold, cool, warm, dark, heavy, light, fragrant, vibratory, still. Shakti is the active principle in comparison to Shiva. In the early days of rising Shakti is very yang. In her excitement to reach her lover, Shiva, in the crown, she will shoot up the back like a freight train on fire, suspending the spine between heaven and earth. Just speaking from personal experience. It is rude and disrespectful to invoke without permission. Even more so when just to satisfy curiosity. It is evidence of disrespect in the realms of the Void and there are consequences. I am no expert but I do walk daily in intimate ecstatic union with Shakti. If you disrespect me for that experiential understanding of the mystic's life I have no idea how to respond or even if a response is necessary. S

I support myself as a nurse although i would like to teach full time some day. it can be tough when k opens up so early. I would say we are all born with it awake but it curls back down once we start encountering the world except in a very few. I have met a couple who have been awake since birth. They are fascinated to talk with. s

Ramon, are you the poster in the thread who said they were taking KAP with Santi? I am his teaching partner. My kundalini woke up back in the early 90s. For a few years I taught with Dr. Glenn Morris, author of Path Notes of an American Ninja Master, and also Santiago Dobles' mentor and friend. They created the KAP program together. I have been teaching and advising about kundalini since the late 90s. Yes, the crown does grow and change shape along the cranial suture lines. One of the other subtle things about kundalini. Have you ever seen an electric blue color like this: This is the color of Shakti (in yin aspect) as well as the blue pearl. It is also the color of vajradhara. http://www.buddhanature.com/buddha/vajradhara.html If you are aware of this color it is auspicious indeed. It also has a feel to it like a menthol cool. It also adds a quality of thickness to the air when present. If you are taking KAP, a chi set is a set of chi kung exercises that we teach. So we teach a set of four basic chi kung exercises in the first level and call it a chi set, 1-4. nice to meet you, Susan

I know the feeling... Could not care less...just want to be well again. Keep at it. It can be a long haul but your endurance will bring rewards. Sometimes I felt so weak it felt like I could walk out of my body at any moment and never come back. I just had no energy to anchor myself in my body. Acupuncture REALLY helped with that. For a couple of months I was going two to three times a week. Eventually, I dropped down to once a week for two years. I ate almost 100% organic simple foods and ate a lot of bone broth to rebuild my jing. http://www.westonaprice.org/Broth-is-Beautiful.html My fave version of bone broth is made with oxtails. Get a couple pounds of oxtails. Put in large crock pot. Add water or low salt broth to cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Add a teaspoon of vinegar to facilitate leaching the minerals out of the bones. In england it is called beef tea but you can make any kind of meat tea. Congee is also awesome for rebuilding for chi. It is a staple food in China and easy on the digestion. http://www.ehow.com/video_4942011_traditional-chinese-medicine-congee-recipe.html It is basically just rice gruel but you can add meat and veggies, spices and herbs to it or just eat it plain. It is really good food for those who are weak and need to rebuild. I don't think rice has gluten in it so you would be ok. You can actually make congee out of any grain...like oatmeal for example...but rice is traditional. One can even choose to live on bone broth and congee for a long time. You can even combine the two making congee with bone broth. If money is a problem for acupuncture find a school and go to a student clinic. They are monitored by instructors so you can get quite good treatment. The bulk of my acupuncture actually happened at a school's clinic but I was able to afford the instructors. My practitioners all had PhDs in acupuncture from China and trained in China. That can make a difference in your treatment. If you can not go often ask for acupressure points to massage and also chi kung exercises to do to supplement the treatments. Eat simply, practice breathing and slow movements, seek out peaceful, chi rich environments and supportive friends, smile and cultivate a grateful spirit and this will help you greatly as you work on healing yourself. good luck, susan

kate, some people do have that scary reaction to me until they meet me in person. It is the yin, crone nature of the Shakti that you may be sensing. But, I am well regarded by animals and very small children who like to get as close to me as possible by crawling into my lap for hugs. Seeing comes with practice and experience. It's like a "muscle" that is developed. I am better than some and not as good as others. Santi, and especially Tao, are WAY better than me. it is helpful...that is for sure... s

A few words... stay away from the drugs. you need to be grounded in earth based reality not being taken away from it. Your shen (mind spirit) is disturbed by these drugs and needs to be calmed not agitated by them. Simple chi kung exercises will help you ground. Maybe someone here will point you to a good video set. Take care of the physical needs first because they are related to your survival needs. Having a strong base will mean the rest is easier to get in line. If what you have can be treated by medical treatment, diet, etc. do it. Once that is taken care of it will be easier to address the other problems. I suggest you go see a good acupuncturist. They are immensely helpful with deranged and pathological chi patterns which what you are exhibiting. Don't expect to be fixed in one sitting. It took time to get in this predicament. It will take time to get out of it. It could even be a year so have patience. It took me almost 3 years to fix my chi and blood deficiency with acupuncture, herbs, and iron infusions at the clinic. There is no simple fix here. We are looking at deep constitutional issues on different layers which will take time to harmonize. once your body's chi, jing, and shen systems come into harmony...then let's talk about whether or not this is kundalini. it doesn't look to my inner vision that your kundalini is awake. That's good news. One less thing to worry about. take care, Susan

Kundalini awakens what folks call spontaneously for several reasons and then the development starts. Some of the reasons: drug use, child birth, trauma to sacrum and spine, trauma that is mental, physical, emotional, spiritual in nature so for example either great grief or great joy; transcendent love, sex, Post traumatic stress syndrome because fear and panic cause incredible adrenaline release, the third eye blows open as a protective measure due to the Flight, Fight or Freeze syndrome. Hyperempathy/hypersensitivity follows. But if these things all caused k awakening then more than half the planet would have their kundalini awake. For some it is just time. I am of the belief that Divine Wisdom is a characteristic of Kundalini awakening. If it is not time, in the Cosmic Plan for it to open, it won't open. Regardless of how we get there what do we do when we are there? Good question. Find a teacher you can trust. This teacher not only has good info and patience, but has mature kundalini development and can serve as an energetic template for your own rising. I can see with my inner vision that Eviander's is open. Doesn't matter how it opens. If it is time, one could stand out in the middle of a field in front of on opening flower and ask for the k to awake and it would. It is difficult to believe but much that is a problem with kundalini syndrome can be fixed with good hydration, a diet appropriate for this person, a sense of child like gratitude and wonder about this amazing process, doing the Secret smile for ten minutes twice a day, and placing the tongue behind the teeth at the roof of the mouth so the energy can circulate without getting stuck. Some simple chi sets will help also. The Blue Pearl can show up at any time. I rarely see it. Some newbies see it all the time. Who can guess the mind of Shakti? If anything, one who is going through this process alone deserves the greatest of kindness and support. only speaking from my own experiences, Susan

I want to invite as many people as possible to the Conference of the 20th anniversary of the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine called: Evidence Based Spirituality for the 21st Century. June 25-29 Westminster, CO (outside Denver) http://www.issseem.org/ If you love energy healing and energy medicine, you will really enjoy this conference. Those of you who have eternal questions about the scientific basis of chi and energy would get benefit from attending. I have been invited to do a private session of Shaktipat and a kundalini meditation for the conference staff and volunteers the night before the conference begins by the CEO of the organization. Hopefully, Santi (Vajrasattva) will be able to come with me. If Santi does come we will try to set up a Silat seminar too for people in Denver. If you decide to go, let us know and maybe we can meet for tea some evening. Blessings, Susan

Maybe change will be accelerated by the new media. This is by Matisyahu, a Jewish Hasidic Reggae Rocker. I am not Hindu or Islamic or Jewish but I am a Christian minister of an ancient sect which recognizes Kundalini as Holy Spirit, Shekhinah, or Baraka. One day change will come. Small steps but its coming. I know I don't have to tell you that wars originate in the heart. This is where change has to come from. blessings on this beautiful day, Susan -

When do traditionalists ever really mix? It is the mystics who understand the correlations. One also does not speak of sufis when one is in the company of traditional muslims. As in traditional Hinduism do not speak of Tantrics for that is black magic. Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity have many, many offshoots and variations. To characterize the whole of a religion by one faction is unfortunate and to me propagates separation and division. It seems the ones who gets the most press are the most strident and restrictive. This makes them seem authoritative in their appearance and can lead true seekers away from a more subtle, soul centered practice that does not focus on the externals. Those who practice the "letter of the law" over the heart of Spirit are people I stay away from. The mystics of different spiritual traditions that I have met are inclusive and universalistic. If it is not in the school it doesn't mean that inclusiveness or universalism is dead to people. People practice in secret for a reason. But we do see masters and lineage holders do mix and can be inclusive. From Yogananda to Hazrat Inayat Khan for examples. Steps forward towards universalism in our perception may be baby steps but they are still steps and to be encouraged. I have met tantric sufis from other countries who are held in derision by the traditionalists and also actively attacked. They are knowledgeable in Hindu, Islam, and Christian scriptures and discuss with intelligence the correlations between these systems. susan
