  1. Bad Ovary?

Hello Makyea, I am speaking as an RN for over 20 years and having a basic certification in Medical qigong after about a year's study. Some good things here and not so good. I think some of the info from like GIH is good. He really nailed it as far as covering a lot of the physical basis. I think Ya Mu would be good to consult with but I suggest do it off the thread. Overall, TTBs is not a therapeutic environment. Internet advice is well, internet advice. Having said that I will suggest this site: http://www.womentowomen.com/ It is run by traditional female health practitioners from nurse practitioners to medical doctors who use complementary medicine. I have been following them for a couple of years and I find them conservative and practicing evidence based medicine which specializes in female issues. Speaking from professional experience get the physical stuff taken care of first. There is no shame in taking pain meds if you are suffering as a stop gap measure. The professional medical advice you are getting seems uninformed in the female psyche. Ask your docs if they would cut off a testicle just to get rid of a problem. Ask them to give you referenced med literature if they pull out the "Most women get rid of it," advice. That is not true. That just may be the medical culture there. That varies from hospital to hospital and even state to state. That's a very 50s way of looking at something and shows the docs do not understand that an ovary is more "than a seed." At the very least it's a place where eggs mature. You are not a field waiting to be farmed. Body parts are not just body parts. That's a very mechanistic and archaic way to look at your body. Show no real awareness of the beauty of the physiology of a woman's body or her psyche. Do you know when a woman can't carry a baby to term it is because she has what is called an "incompetent uterus"? At least the docs I know preface that with "this is a horrible way to call a condition and..." It sounds like you feel very saddened to expect to lose a very female part of the body. I am sorry your experience has been so poor with the medical profession. Not all docs are like that by a long shot. Are you limited into who you can go to for health care? As has been brought up you might have PCOS or some other endocrine syndrome. There are so many things possible here and it could be bunch of little things that add up to one huge effect. If it's an endocrine thing going on that's pretty tricky to work with cause there are hormonal feedback loops and such. Personally, I don't think you have been able to explore the medical options that are available to you. I am not an expert in gynecology so I cant be much help to you but I do believe the link I gave above is genuinely helpful Traditional chinese medicine and medical qigong can be very helpful but as with regular medicine it's all about the skill and knowledge of the practitioner. With the TCM and MQ you will definately get into the energetics of what is happening and this will help you unravel some of the deeper mysteries of this condition naturally. As you get worked on by these kind of professionals awareness and insight will arise into your condition naturally and usually gently. Please pm me if you wish to talk further about it. Blessings, Susan
  2. Thank you. Your kindness meant so much for me.

  3. Excess Energy in my Head

Do you keep your tongue up to the roof of your mouth behind your upper teeth? It helps circulate the energy that gets stuck in the head. Downward stroke your own energy? It's like brushing your body with your hands with the intention of smoothing and brushing the energy towards the ground and away from your head. Also the more you relax the more energy is going to move. SO for awhile there is a lot of movement in the beginning once you get beyond the just starting part. This is a good sign. It means energy is moving. But, it can be intrusive as you have found. Baby's or child's pose in yoga if you rest your forehead on the ground really helps circulate and ground the energy into the earth. You can see my students just relax and some even saying "aaaaaahhhhh" when they connect with ground in baby's pose. I still like to do it. Animals, plants, nature are also helpful by touching them. Putting your hands in water to drain off excess energy helps too. If your thoughts are racing acupuncture helps. If "spasms" are interrupting your practice maybe allow the chi to direct the movement of your body. This is how spontaneous chi gong starts. See if you can hold someone's hand that has yin cooling energy. Secret smile or inner smile works. Pick what is helpful and just stay with one or two of them. Just connecting with you as I write this makes my own head feel tight and constricted. Much peace to you.
  4. Ask me questions?

And neither was I. Age has nothing to do with cultivation unless one is doing genuine cultivation. Doing something for 20 years if one is doing it inaccurately is just as ineffective as doing it for three days correctly. One month of accurate practice beats 20 years of inaccurate teaching and cultivation any day. People say practice, practice, practice. I say practice perfect, practice perfect, practice perfect. Actually, i want to change what I said. Doing three days correctly, or even for just one hour, is far more effective than 20 years incorrectly.
  5. Ask me questions?

Not at all. The fact that I probably have been teaching cultivation longer than you have been alive mean anything to anyone? Not at all.
  6. Ask me questions?

what kind of scale? the NOOB scale? off the charts. Mastery scale? what's that? We don't know you personally. We dont know you at all except for a few posts looking for validation. None of us train with you. None of us have met you face to face. It is pretty arrogant of you to ask that we do this. You didn't even specify what kind of questions to ask...just assumed we knew what you were thinking. Should I eat cheese on my broccoli? Sure if that's what you want. Should I use condoms? YESSSSS! When I meditate words stop and time elongates and I stop breathing. How am I doing? Nice. Should I move out of my parents house? Do you have a job? Am I liberated? No. When I am do standing stake my body starts to sway from side to side and I am not sure if I am doing it right and it really hurts? Relax your muscles and let the chi flow through your bones and ligaments and not your muscles. Chi moves in circles and when the body starts to relax and the energetic obstructions start to dissolve your body will move in harmonious movement with the chi. Now you think up some questions.
  7. The case for qi?

caveat emptor.... due diligence Just speaking on my own years of experience as a genuine cultivator but people do what they want.
  8. The case for qi?

looking to community is good. looking to youtube for validation, not good. Practice first them come to community with results.
  9. Meditation on the beach.

During the full moon I like to meditate at the beach. I love feeling the energy rise up from the earth and entering my body. I love feeling the pulsing of the yin energy while taking a moon bath. One of my favorite exercises is to stretch out time. I like to listen for the wave and stop it from falling and rolling up to the beach. Time slows down and all I hear is one long continuous rolling of the wave. I dont hear it break on the surf until I speed up my perception of time. Drink in deep the moon cream.
  10. Ask me questions?

you don't know what you don't know. the older you get hopefully you understand more that you really don't know anything at all. so forget what you know now and cultivate humbleness.
  11. The case for qi?

Do your own investigation with your own chi and don't rely on anything or anyone else. Once you know who cares what other people say?
  12. Do you think we are Alone in the Universe?

It is quite crowded in the eternal scheme of things.
  13. Let's say you're new to energetic practices

it's called a blind spot. we all have them. And, interestingly enough, we all hide out in a teacher's or therpaist's (or lover's) blind spot. a piece of trivia that we all can benefit from. what we don't know is huge compared to we what do know. and what we think we know but don't, pitiful. We don't know what we don't know.
  14. Let's say you're new to energetic practices

enormous amount of time and celibacy is not required. Depending on this person's individual makeup...it is possible in to experience in about 15 minutes with about 10 minutes in the set up. Or if they are a insensitive brick with closed mind...might take a while to even a couple of years depending on the patience and level of the teacher. Children learn in less than 10. If the person wants to experience this without a teacher...it might not ever happen or it could happen in an unexpected way. Lots of variables here. And the more effort and mental focus and strain is put into it the less successful said person is going to be. Come with an empty cup or even better a broken plate and with a child's natural wonder and innocence...that determines success. This book is how I learned to feel energy in the 80s, a few years before my kundalini wake up. You learn this and you will naturally begin to develop your energy. It's written for nurses and lay people. Dont let the simplicity fool you. It is one of the best I have ever seen: http://www.amazon.com/Therapeutic-Touch-Practical-Janet-Macrae/product-reviews/039475588X/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

this has all kinds of awesome written all over it. This post could be on the first page of the sticky.
  16. I am not a martial artist and I wouldn't call it "empty force" either. And you bring up other good points. I have pulled people down to the floor from across the room when their eyes were closed by manipulating their wei chi. I also can radiate a wei chi field so that people who are blindfolded can follow me around a large room by the chi "trail" that I leave. These are much easier to do than the martial arts videos demos. Chi is a subtle energy. There are masters out there who can knock people off their stance or chairs by using chi but you pretty much won't find them on you tube. I can do it if people are really ungrounded and are taken by surprise but I can't do it twice in a row. One must first practice sensitization and internal cultivation to do these things. Doesn't take years of practice. Everyone mostly feels chi all the time. It is just people have been desensitized by their culture or upbringing to disbelieve or deny it is happening. I will blindfold students and transmit chi to them. You can see it their face when they feel the chi but you can also see them discount it almost immediately. Others can see the person's body start to sway and respond to the chi but yet the person will say they feel nothing. That's because we have become dulled to feeling subtle energies. Once the ability is re-awakened or cultivated in a student they begin to play with chi alot. They have a lot of fun with it. Here's a vid of my teaching partner, Santi, using chi on a student while the student has his back to him. It takes a little time to undo the desensitization and the mind programming. Some people can do this in just a weekend. Knocking someone off their chair...now that takes a while to cultivate. http://www.youtube.com/user/silatyogi#p/u/34/mU7GK8eRYmg
  17. Indian vs Chinese Metaphysics

Remember each of the three Dan Tiens have three interconnected levels of understanding: jing, chi, and shen. Just realize that all concepts in practice have these three levels of understanding. Might want to study up on the Lesser Kan and Li and the Greater Kan and Li. Why I have even heard mention of the Supreme Kan and Li. It's all alchemy and working with the Three Treasures of Man. s
  18. Indian vs Chinese Metaphysics

According to Jerry Alan Johnson the Holy Spirit is analagous to Ling Shen which eminates out of the Tao. It also referred to as Shen Ling. It comes out of the Ten Thousand Things.
  19. Indian vs Chinese Metaphysics

dan tien is a container/location. kundalini is an energy.
  20. Indian vs Chinese Metaphysics

it can be difficult to exactly map but prana and chi are pretty much the same. There are different kinds of prana and different kinds of chi (i learned about 18 different kinds of chi). I think kundalini is more involved with the ming men and the extraordinary channels too. Definately jing is involved. woohoo!
  21. Indian vs Chinese Metaphysics

my understanding from my teachers is that one definition of chi is breath not breathing. The oldest ideo grams show the character of 3 straight horizontal lines, one above the other. The idea is as the mist rises from the ground as the moisture evaporates in the sun. The mist rises and finally evaporates into the sky under the sun's heat. During the night, the molecules condense and fall back to earth as moisture. The cycle then begins again. As the earth exhales chi rises. If one stands outside at right before sun rise one can feel the earth exhale as the earth begins to shift from yin to yang. On another level it shows the alchemical process of transformation from solid (material) to gas (immaterial). This mirrors the process of the human body as a crucible for transformation. So having the chi sink to the lower dan tien is a way of lowering energy to the cauldron of transformation that exist there. *The lower Cinnabar Field* The Cinnabar Field is the root of the human being. It is the place where essence and spirit are stored, the origin of the five breaths (wuqi), and the Storehouse of the Red Child (chizi zhi fu). Men store in it their semen, and women their menstrual blood. It rules on generating children and is the gate of the joining of Yin and Yang. It is three inches below the navel, attached to the Caudal Funnel (weilü), (*) and is the root of the two kidneys. Within the Cinnabar Field the center is red, the left is green, the right is yellow, above is white, and below is black. It is within a space that measures four inches, square (like Earth) and round (like Heaven). (**) http://www.goldenelixir.com/taoism/texts_laozi_zhongjing.html Each of the Dan Tiens are cauldrons of alchemical transformation. For each Dan Tien there are three levels of understanding...that of jing, chi, and shen. All must be considered to attain full understanding. chi as breath and in greek as pneuma which is also considered spirit...something to think on...for a lifetime. s
