Also can do that for their students. I learned how to do this years ago by watching and relaxing into kundalini flow. It's no biggie. It just starts to happen. It must if you were designed to handle energy flow. To try it yourself see energy running through body in rivers not trickles or lines that look like meridian drawings. The more you relax into the flow and not try to analyze the channels will start to widen. The chakras will also widen. Eventually one will see the chakras are just a reflection of the One chakra. High level practice is really quite simple. Just keep practicing, be open, and things just start to become obvious.
  2. snakes are an ancient symbol of kundalini...when people are going through an awakening they often dream about snakes. I did constantly. Always being bitten by hundreds if not thousands of snakes. Walking into to rooms that were wall to wall snakes. I used to be repulsed and terrified and then I just let them bite me at will. They would often bit a hole and drill into my body.
  3. I used to play a lot of energy games on line with other kundalites in the late 90s. Chat is great medium for sending energy over with other sensitives. Don't use audio or video so that you must switch over into total empath mode. Those things can be distracting. You can find out real quick who is sensing and who is receiving, who has got a kick and who needs to practice more. It is great training. I have to play with a male who has serious cultivation skills or mature kundalini development to get a hit. It seems other wise weak cultivators just gets absorbed into my Shakti field and I don't notice anything. I try to be polite though. The more electric, more yang, the greater the polarity the more intense the sexual frission between me who is intensely Yin and magnetic and who I am playing with. It is absolutely lovely. I usually will get a full body/spirit orgasm. They also have a fun time. It's not about the knowing. Its all about the feeling.

Projecting much? We only hate in others what we hate within ourselves. Maybe that's what Santi is doing but are you any different? Of Santi's students who are members on this board tell me they stay away from Bums because the energetic vibes make them ill. Too bad for all of us because they are a goodly portion of professional people, engineers, psychotherapists, grad students and such. Santi can defend himself if he wishes but I don't think he needs to justify himself to anyone. I hope you have friends that will back you up when you are attacked. just my thoughts

Again we have to be careful pronouncing as if this is good for all peoples. People get blood clots in their legs from sitting for long periods without stretching on planes and in their cars. Blood clots are PAINFUL. I know they do because I have had many patients who get blood clots from those things and crossing their legs. It is not a one size fits all practice. I have seen healthy young men get blood clots in their legs too. One's health does have an important correlation to one's legs and feet. For example, the knees are reservoirs for chi. Massaging behind the knees can loosen up stagnant chi. I think it is best to err on the side of conservative practice. Why? Because blood clots in the legs are very dangerous. A piece could break off and travel to the heart causing a heart attack, or break off and travel to the lung causing lung tissue to die or travel to the brain and cause a stroke. This is why a standard of treatment for recurrent phlebitis in the legs is to put in an IVC filter (Interior vena cava). It's a little mesh basket that catches clots inside the huge vena cava so they don't travel further up into the body and lodge in the organs causing tissue death. This happens All the time to people. So it is important to be moderate and not to push through the pain. The pain may be trying to tell you something. Numbness and tingling are a sign that blood supply is being cut off to the affected part. So be prudent in your practice and just don't ignore common sense. If one must try to sit cross legged, try the butterfly pose for a while first. It is OK to use the throne position which is old Egyptian practice. They had chairs in Egypt and weren't sitting on the floor a lot like you see in Asian practices. Move into practices gradually. It's like working out. You don't run a 3 minute mile the first time out of the gate. One has to be conditioned and trained to do so. I am not speaking out against full lotus. Do whatever you want but be safe about it.

  8. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

Indeed. I have had people attack me in a pure rage saying to me, "You call yourself enlightened?" Basically calling me an idiot and a fool. Never once have i claim to be enlightened but yet people do accuse me of it often, some even thinking I proclaimed it aloud. I am nothing, zero. Just a bundle of experiences.

He is directing energy from his palms into his upper chakras. It is another way of energizing. We teach people how to energize/heal themselves by putting energy directly into different chakras.

Heh...Santi and I can make people do this long distance. Simple to do. Easy to test yourself over Skype. Santi can deflect people from hitting him from several feet away. They can't land a punch. They can't get close enough to him to land one. Love this vid of Santi feeding the chakras and raising kundalini he did for his on line students for a class. http://www.youtube.com/user/silatyogi#p/u/3/M3k3Tn7lfTw very rare to see. see if you can feel. the vid is dark so his students can practice their aura reading and sensing skills. I think this exercise is one we teach in KAP 1. The reason he is bouncing around so much is because of the power and intensity of the shakti that is running through his body. Notice the spontaneous smiling. Never have to force a smile when kundalini is running through your body. It feels wonderful and makes you happy.
  11. I just did a 2 hour interview for someone in the UK and the awakening fast did come up. So I could just say, remember in the movie "Aliens" where the aliens burst out the guys chest? I could say I had some similiar experiences. When my heart center was opening I went into a spontaneous asana. It was form of the bridge pose but more extreme: http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/472 my shoulders did not touch my bed. I was balancing between the back of my head and my heels, my body in an arched C shape, my eyes and chin facing the wall behind me. My arms were flung out to the side as far as I could stretch them. The feeling was, " I. have. to. open. up. my. chest. wide. NOW!" As i said this was spontaneous. I do not do yoga at the time and still don't. The visual I saw was like a circular saw, a la Freddy Kreuger, slicing up the center of my chest through my sternum. Very bloody. It sounded like someone was tearing raw meat. When my chest was open a column of bluish green light shot out into the universe and then spread out in all directions at the apex. Didn't hurt at all but just weird to feel the sensation of cutting meat and hear crushing bone. Plus there was the feeling of great bliss. What I felt and still feel in my body are sinusoidal movements, like a snake you might say. It feels like the air has weight and pressure. I can feel wind moving in the room and inside my body but all the windows are closed. I feel heat, I feel cold, I feel the most exquisite pleasure. I feel paths of energy racing through my body...it pulses, it roars, it rolls like waves. I had full on constant spontaneous kriyas and asanas. I feel constant and multiple orbits. Orbits within orbits. Orbits that are like figure eights. Orbits that are shared with other people, trees, planets, etc. Like waves constantly pulsing through my body. I feel a wave that is as wide as my body that rises up from the center of the earth, hits the heavens and bounces back continuously. The waves have pressure and weight and often times color when I tune into them. Often I would have constant orgasms, continual pelvic spontaneous rocking, curled up in a fetal position on my bed moaning with the pure ecstasy so exquisite it was bordering on painful. Does that give you some ideas?
  12. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

I have filters in place. It is necessary so I can function in this world. Remove the filters and I plunge into Samadhi. The "volume control" for the intensity of being in constant contact with All That IS, i dial down. Remove the filters and the ecstasy that bubbles permanently in the marrow of my bones instantly begins to expand filling my body, my mind and my spirit. I begin to laugh and giggle overcome with love and gratitude for being alive and being in the Presence of Pure Consciousness. The screens over my human eyes raise and in each human being I see the perfect Self. Struck by such exquisite beauty I fall to my knees weeping. Weeping for joy at seeing such perfection in each person and weeping for sorrow that few can see this within themselves. The screens over my self drop and everywhere I see the scintillating light of pure consciousness where once before I saw trees, animals, buildings, the beautiful, the ugly, and the profane. There is only the diamond pure clear light of Consciousness that illuminates all that is whether material or immaterial, whether living or inert. The screens over my consciousness drop as my consciousness merges with the Consciousness of All That Is. I feel/see my little self spread across the stars of the mulitiverses watching Self observe Self and we become One. Walking between two realities my human body hums and twists with the most exquisite bliss while Self witnesses. My breath stops within my chest and I lose my consciousnessness into the Bliss of the Divine Play of Consciousness. My goal this coming year is to stay in Samadhi while I teach, while I work , while i live in my little glorious world. While practicing to live my life without screens between myself and All That Is, I teach and love my students. I train those who wished to be trained. Like I say to my students and have said on this board, "when kundalini awakes, you are changed forever." May the joy of Shakti gently flow. 13. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

I like that one, rex. Some never lose that when they are born, some must be retrained. But then there is that damn sticky cultural lens when people start to interpret what that means. SO i feel to define even further can we say what do we expect of someone's behavior who has become enlightened? Will it be acceptable across cultures? What is self evident?
  14. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

There are people that agree with you. The natural state of an infant...who lacks the ability to judge, to hate, to ridicule, etc. and those are some of the attributes that are "trained" out of us as we grow up. Fortunate is the one who retains such a natural innocence and accepting view of life into their adulthood. The rest of us have to be retrained in some way. A person who never lost their natural connection and spontaneous integration with the Tao they were born with? Blessed indeed. What would a person be like who has been able to retain that connection? If one believes one is birthed with a naturally enlightened state ...that is considering one has defined the state of and can recognize enlightenment first.

I think they do but I have never yet heard an answer yet that makes me go, "Hmmmmm....i should remember that."

he's teaching students on line...i am sitting in the back of the room playing with my puter so i will share a little. he can jump in later. he's far busier than me...being a stay at home dad will do that as well as his teaching schedule and his time in the studio putting the last finishing touches on his music. oh and then his MA classes he teaches..and all the other stuff. Makes me look like a primo slacker. The only guru that really counts is the one that lives in your heart, The Self. The job of the earthly guru is to point you to that guru. This where the devotion should really go. This is a big topic so if someone wants to elaborate on it please step in.

it is a burden we all bear
  19. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

So Cow Tao...how are you different now that you have watched those videos. How have you been changed? Honestly, I did not watch. I am not into the lecture path. I want to know how you live because you now know what enlightenment is. Prepare to be offended Cow Tao. Your cultural prejudices are showing. The path to enlightenment( if it does exist) i can say is not clean or clear...can be rather disgusting, immoral (there's that word) and messy. I would reference the Aghoras. I was telling my senior students a few days ago that I eat, breathe, and shit God. Why is that? There is in the UNIVERSE, in my judgmental opinion only Consciousness. Immaterial or material, sacred and profane, and all in between there only Is THAT WHICH IS. I have chosen to experience All that IS as Sacred. That's limiting That but I am still learning. Someday I will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it all just IS. Well I do know that on an experiential level but it still hasn't totally filtered out into my day to day living. That's where it counts IMO. nice catch love bob and his church
  20. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

You are welcome Dave. I have my days. First can we prove enlightenment exists? How? Having been around the block a few times I have yet to find in my limited contact with the whole freaking universe and everything that lives in it that proves to moi that enlightenment exists unless of course you are dead. I am of a big ego and highly judge-mental so my pronouncement is probably a little off. So that is why I vote for cultural myth. We probably can check it out by looking at and agreeing what enlightened behavior is. That will take awhile. breathing, smiling, and a conduit...that's pretty cool I tease my students telling them, "so what you gonna do when you are sitting on the big couch of the enlightenment with that remote control in your hand?"
  21. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

oh my goodness...what is the ultimate moral perfection state? I thought morals are culturally subjective. What's perfectly moral in polynesia may not be so in Kansas. Maybe ethical is better? Do you mean Christian morals, pagan morals, Islamic morals, New York City morals? teenager morals? Grandpa morals. God forbid I live by my Dad's right wing, arch republican conservative, racial purity morals. If you are enlightened I would suggest it is not necessary to tell anyone. It may be noticeable to a large group of people. Well maybe not cause people are different. Self righteous moral purity is repugnant to me. Maybe because I use to be a christian fundie...so like a reformed smoker I can't stand what I used to do. Just speaking from my own experiences I think she is in California or at least that was the case about 10 years ago.
  22. Enlightenment is a cultural myth?

I love this. People often look for the "glow in the dark" phenomena siddis of kundalini and chi. Those siddis are just amusement parks of diversion along the way. If you work the path, be diligent, there is a change. Put one foot in front of the other, keep taking steps and one day you probably will glow in the dark. (I know some who do) But, that is about as significant as getting a tan in the relation to the progress one has made in become self aware. Developing siddis are not for bolstering an insecure self image. IMO and experience they are for service. But, they are tools...their use determined by the consciousness of the holder. Glenn Morris was adamant that enlightenment was a biological process. Now that is more rational to me.
  23. I will offer this up. Mapping traditions over one another is difficult. I have just about given up mapping the daoist view of energy with the traditional hindu. Kundalini is a cross cultural phenomena that appears in all the world's major spiritual traditions, most often occultly. Yeah...there is some overlap but there is so much of local culture determination in describing spiritual events. Hence, the 5 blind men describing the elephant story seems appropriate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_men_and_an_elephant

You guys...get outta my head. I was asked on another topic to post this for discussion. Normally, I run screaming in to the night when this subject comes up because personally it doesn't help anyone and often degenerates into a mud throwing, my teacher is better than your teacher contest.. Better to work on being a good person. But what can I say, I like to please people.
