  1. I Opened my Kundalini, But I did it to Early!

yes...it is very difficult to control. most are unsuccessful in doing so. it really does have a mind of its own which is a body wisdom. It doesnt take kindly to living according to schedules and ordinary reality. Kundalini is supposed to change your relationship to ordinary reality. Since it has it's own wisdom you can talk to it. Negotiate things. I used to ask that kriyas only at night because they were interfering with my job. If things get scary or out of control feeling just say please stop. That often works for me and others. One of the most effective and easy things to do is the Microscosmic orbit and the Secret Smile. I know Santiago (vajrasattva) posted instructions for both on this board a year or so ago. If this is spontaneous and you were unprepared it will be more difficult. The kundalini has to burn through all the impurities and blocks of different kinds before the flow smooths out. It's a fast track to transformation if one learns to relax into the process. Do know that the psychic stuff and powers and such are manifestations of the emergence of siddis? That is supposed to happen in the process. It shows how a normal human being is supposed to be when fully transformed and mature in spiritual development. These are good things. Take some deep breaths and know that you are one of those rare individuals who have been touched by grace. we may not like how it is unfolding but eh...is that our control issues talking because we want things on our own terms? Biggest thing one can do with k is relax and surrender to the process. You can learn to ride or surf comfortably on these surges of power. Just takes practice and time. s
  2. Double orbits

I am constantly running all kinds of orbits within and with all things spontaneously. It is fun to follow them where they lead. I also run orbits within orbits, orbits that run in more than 2D planes, some that look like infinity symbols ( i was told that was a dragon orbit by Hsing yi master). The more you play with your k development the more you will find. have fun with this whole journey, K. be amazed at how wonderfully you are made... hugs

Might that be a caduceus shining in the clouds? chi is energy so is kundalini but they are not the same. Chi cultivation does feel real gooood when you get the blocks moved out. people get their undies in a twist when I appropriate the word kundalini because i think they feel I use it out of context. Being an interfaith minister I am always looking for common ground to speak into a commonality of human experiences. The best way I can describe kundalini is how it affects your life. It CHANGES your life. Chi can too over time but it is more subtle when compared to kundalini. I personally believe that a kundalini awakening is similar to the 2nd birth talked about in Christianity. Being born again does describe how tumultuous and dramatic the awakening and life changes can be. It doesnt have to be so dramatic but those where it happens spontaneously and without the context of some type of internal cultivation practice it usually is. That would be my story. It was like being transported to an alternate universe where I felt more like a character in a wild fantasy movie. One can also find description of k awakening as the greatest Kan and Li or Nei Shen Gung Fu. Depends on the culture you are in. One can find it in all major spiritual traditions. Whatever the cultural landscape one lives in will color the experience of what is a natural, universal phenomenon. No culture, no race, and no belief system has a monopoly on this energy. It would be like saying that only Americans or the Chinese can speak definitvely or with any authority about gravity or only New Zealanders are the only ones that understand trees. Just find a system and stick with it until one achieves some degree of mastery. Then go look at how other cultures view this phenomenon. Take what you need that serves you and just disregard the limitations that don't. Run like hell from those who say they have the only true way. I think the purpose of kundalini awakening is theosis but then again that is just my personal BS (belief system.) You can read what a mentor of mine has to say about kundalini on the front page of our website. The bottom line is your life and everything about you starts to change, from the way you breathe, to what you eat, to the kinds of friends you have, what you wear, what you read. It is true transformation. hope that helps some.
  4. I Opened my Kundalini, But I did it to Early!

you will find more than a few opinions on this. I believe it was Taomeow who said she has a process to shut down kundalini. My first thought after reading your opening sentence: "why too early"?
  5. Anyone else get headaches sometimes after meditation?

Not the psychic channels. It is the governor and conception channels of the body according to TCM. You might just be trying too hard. I would advise to never force the breath. The body does have it's own wisdom. Most people in civilization do high chest breathing. This increases the interthoracic pressure inside the body. It activates the sympathetic nervous system causing more adrenaline to be released into the body. Learning to drop our center of breathing will activate the parasympathetic nervous system and cause us to be relaxed. The fact that you are worrying about breathing incorrectly just complicates the problem causing more adrenaline release. Let go of the mind and just breathe. Go watch big animals breathe. A study was done at Mayo Clinic, I believe in the 90s...I lost the citation, but a study of 100 people who came into the ER who had a heart attack was carried out. The purpose was to find out how many were high chest breathers and how many were belly breathers. It was found that 100 % of the people who came into the ER who had a heart attack were high chest breathers. It is a bit of a practice. It took me a while of conscious practice and it made my ribs sore for awhile because I was so out of use for taking lower abdominal breaths. You do use different muscles. Now, after so many years, upper chest shallow breathing feels really uncomfortable to me. Abdominal breathing is also called the Baby's breath. Observe infants how they breathe. This is the natural way to breathe. It is also called the Buddha's Breath. Just remember it is normal to breathe this way and the body will eventually do it itself if you allow it to. You know when you are doing it right cause you can feel the energy/chi and the breath go right down to your toes. we teach abdominal breathing to pregnant women to assist in labor. There are good vids out there to teach you if you don't know how. Maybe for the headaches you need a good massage, acupuncture or a chiropractice adjustment. This works very well for those kind of problems. If you are letting yourself relax into meditation your breaths will naturally slow down by themselves. You don't have to force it. Sometimes it seems as if my breathing totally stops. Abdominal breathing doesnt necessarily mean deep inhales, long exhales. It is just about moving your center of awareness lower. Long deep inhales and short exhales are more yang. Eventually, in time, you will be able to switch between yin and yang styles breathing and more neutral styles. Turtle breathing is a kick for sure. I still haven't mastered that one. Not sure if I need too. Have no worries. You will get it in time. Be a little Buddha Baby and see what happens.
  6. Anyone else get headaches sometimes after meditation?

whenever you meditate or are cultivating energy make sure your tongue is resting behind your upper teeth at the gum line. this connects the conception and governing vessels and keeps the energy from getting stuck in your head. what you are getting is called "chi head". You want the energy to continually circulate. Concentrate on abdominal breathing. My breath almost stops when I meditate...it may be very prolonged on the exhale and maybe only 4 per minute. this is a yin breath. let your body/energy dictate what is happening and see what results.
  7. a century of mistranslating Super-Ego+Id as "Ego"

just a huge error by the lay public. i recently posted that the ego was a poetic conceit of freud's few weeks back.
  8. End of the world is May 21st.

    the rapture is everywhere. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapture
  9. End of the world is May 21st.

You guys have it all wrong...it's velocirapture...when jesus calls all the dinosaurs back to heaven.
  10. I share these with the Bums to create discussion as I do with my students. Something for the study group to think on before we meet on Thursday night. We may not discuss these ideas but do let them percolate. Quotes from a scientist. Ilya Prigogine, chemist and physicist, who won the Nobel Prize in 1997 for Chemistry. Here is a link to his Nobel Lecture for you to read. http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/chemistry/laureates/1977/prigogine-lecture.pdf A link to discussion of his theories. http://www.danceyourlife.eu/sourcesofbiodanza/IlyaPrigogine.html We grow in direct proportion the the amount of chaos we can sustain and dissipate. The main character of any living system is openness. The irreversibility of time is the mechanism that brings order out of chaos. The future is uncertain... but this uncertainty is at the very heart of human creativity. We are macroscopic beings rooted in the physical world.
  11. Notes for review on Thursday night's study group

Some people's chaos is some people's tranquility. we create what we know.
  12. i think your spiritual ticket got stamped VOID with that statement.
  13. The Image of God

so what does this have to do with your statement that :Any ancient find by any archaeologist or anthropologist that I have ever read about, heard about, or seen on tv, was given a superstitous purposes and meaning by anthropologists. I think you contradict yourself and are not really looking at or examining what you are professing and quoting. Consciousness is a spinoff of matter? you lift your works unattributed to an author http://www.jawest.com/sekhmet2.htm The dogma may be unofficial and unwritten, but it is demonstrably Church of Progress dogma nonetheless. The church Credo goes something like this: the universe is an accident; matter precedes mind; consciousness is a kind of spin-off of matter; human life, indeed, all life, serves no higher purpose. Spiritual and sacred are no more than euphemisms for superstition. There is no consciousness higher than our own (at least not on this planet) and no possible transformation of the material into the spiritual. There is only Progress, hope defrayed into the future. Jacob's ladder no longer bridges the gulf between heaven and earth. It has been laid flat along the ground. Given enough time, science and technology will establish their version of heaven right here on earth. Sounds like who you quote unattributed is speaking as the Church of Progress ideology as a bad thing but it sounds like you think that is a good thing. It is all very unclear to me and clarity is important to me so I can understand what you are getting at.
  14. The Image of God

You didn't cite where you cut and pasted from. There are many types of anthropology, from cultural anthro to religious anthro, to linguistic, to law, to media anthro, to scientific anthro...etc. etc. etc. Anthropology is the study of humanity and it's origins. It is the study of what makes us human...whether its our culture, our science, our beliefs... You are just one young, inexperienced and uneducated person. That does not give you the authority to make the pronouncement that the professional fields of anthropology and archeology are only concerned with ascribing superstition to artifacts. I suggest you read about someone like Margaret Mead to understand about anthropology. To make these claims as you do about scientific study damages your credibility beyond belief. I challenge you to open your mind up to more than just what your brain can see or conceive. There is more in this universe that is unknown than known. There is even more that we don't know that we don't know. Don't paint yourself into an intellectual corner with absolutest statements about something that shaped your intellect because you saw it on TV. It is embarrassing. I am trying to say this in the kindest way but it is very difficult to sugar coat this.
  15. Gender identification

women tend to have a much easier time cultivating energy than men. women tend to be more in tune with energy and nature. They also know how to surrender to the forces of nature in a more relaxed way. Since they give birth and shed blood women can know in an intimate way what it means to be in the natural flow. But this is just generalization. There are always exceptions. personally, in my 20+ years of teaching and training...nope, not a big deal. Practice and intent can compensate for a lot or even equalize differences between biology. What is your intention in your practice? That's accounts for more than gender.
  16. The Image of God

Having a minor in anthropology from the University of Miami I would have to say, you just made that up or you get your information from watching movies.
  17. Notes for review on Thursday night's study group

yeah...me too so if one does not have the quality of openness does that mean they are involved in a deadly system?
  18. Notes for review on Thursday night's study group

I discovered Prigogine in 2005 when I was studying at the University for my PhD in Nursing Informatics (another long story). I was fascinated with how he described order coming out of chaos particularly how it applies to transpersonal psych theory and energy healing. We talk about it a lot in our common language. For example, a healing crisis comes before health returns. What is illness but chaos in the system? This illness can be mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and more often a blend of all these components. Healing can't come until there is a critical event in the chaos of other swirling events. Then choice comes in. We can choose to accept a breakthrough in the pattern that is unhealthy and accept an opening into healing. Or...we can choose to sit in chaos and remain ill. People who choose to sit in chaos also like to create chaos around them. We can choose to evolve.
  19. The more one talks about the ego the bigger it grows. What we focus on feeds energy into it. Even if it doesnt really exist we can create a thought form that acts like what we think an ego is. People who spend a lot of time talking about the ego have a problem with their ego. Instead focus on virtue. Feed virtue. Then one day you will find yourself wondering why does anybody even talk about the ego. Practice gratefulness and generosity. That raises spiritual energy very quickly.
  20. Is awakening always a call to service?

What are you waiting for? An engraved invitation? Just do it. Life can be service. You might have to wait though until you can turn 5 lightbulbs off at once with your energy. *teasing*
  21. hurry up and go. give us a report when you get there. good luck
  22. Damn Allergies! How to get rid of them?

i can report that the use of the Outdoor Allergy formula has reduced the symptoms by half. yay!
  23. I do not know if I want to share them on this forum. The anecdotes were shared around the friendly atmosphere of a dinner table where much learning and unlearning often happens with a lot of laughter and a healthy dose of self deprecation. We were co-teachers and co-students for we taught and we learned from each other. I was already in private practice teaching when he asked me to join him in teaching classes about kundalini and to give shaktipat with him.
  24. very true... Glenn used to travel as a bodyguard for the Dalai Lama's innercircle when the Lama toured. He had all kinds of interesting info to share about that. regarding being semi anon... if your energetic ears are sharp and you have a good BS detector...annotated biblios and quotes dont always deliver. i often listen to the energy underneath the words. sometimes there is a different message there. Glenn sat at my pc a good portion of the time while he was writing his last book, "Quantum Crawfish for the Clueless Soul".The draft still sits on that pc. We were sitting in a movie theater when he turned to tell me the title of his last book. I still don't have a clue why that title. He liked koans and would give his personal students koans. He has excellent biblios. He loved the fact that he could spread the good stuff around and give credit to the worthy works. I had read much of those books before I had ever heard of him. And as we have been saying in this thread...much is hidden and what is revealed is often reviled. First hand accounts can be useful but are not often given much precedent. This is when the energies of discernment begin to come at play. his first book is more of a scroll unrolling for the new initiate. he regrets that title. his second book is more for martial arts student on the path. the third book is less about him and more about his students and the insights they share. his fourth book... not my cuppa tea cause it was more rhetoric than anything else but then again Glenn was a professor of Rhetoric at McNeese University in Louisiana. He had a PhD in Industrial Psych. If one is more interested in the esoteric side of the martial arts then the books will be more important than the biblios.
