  1. "You can't handle the TRUTH !"

Hey Oh Mar-vell-ous Captain, if things get really bad, invite the shrink to join the TTB ! We could have him fixed up in no time Bless you Captain
  2. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

The biggest swindler in the world dies and finds himself before the gates of Heaven and St. Peter, who says, "Come on in man!" Confused, the swindler questions, "But I thought I would be going to Hell for all of the bad things I did." St. Peter replies, "Oh, we don't keep records here, it's too much work!" The swindler goes in, and is once again surprised to see tons of beautiful girls kicking themselves. He asks St. Peter, "Why are they doing that?" St. Peter answers, "Ah, those are all of our virgins. They just found out we don't keep records, too!"
  3. "You can't handle the TRUTH !"

I would agree with this. I would also add that I personally tend to tell different people different 'truths' depending on their level of understanding and whether I think it would help them or not. (the tao bummers are a little exempt from this - edit: only because I'm talking with a group of people ) Bless you nestentrie
  4. "You can't handle the TRUTH !"

This reminds me that there is also a danger of providing only partial 'truths'. Dude 1: "Hey dude, remember that new-fangled meditation technique I gave you all those years ago ? How did it pan out ?" Dude 2: "It worked like a charm !. I eventually found God !.........but I also lost my Job, I lost my family, I lost all my possessions, I lost my arms and legs due to immune system failure and I ended up in a psych ward for 20 years." Dude 1: "Errrr....sorry about that dude, I forgot to mention that there are a few side-effects" Blessings of the whole truth
  5. Flash Back...... Bless the World
  6. ROFL ! It didnt strike me as being particularly deep. Who is Bill Safire ? edit: Just found out who Bill is. Explains it. Bless you Captain
  7. "If the Book of Job reaches across two and a half millennia to teach anything to men and women who consider themselves normal, decent human beings, it is this: Human beings are sure to wander in ignorance and to fall into error, and it is better — more righteous in the eyes of God — for them to react by questioning rather than accepting. Confronted with inexplicable injustice, it is better to be irate than resigned." —William Safire, The First Dissident Bless us all

The parable of the sower and the seeds also comes to mind. I'm not sure if its applicable here but its good to read it again "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop--a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears, let him hear." Matthew 13 1-9 Explanation: “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” That is some pretty scarey stuff there ! I would hope the bit that says "some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” could include "some two, some one." at the end. Blessings of Fruitfulness
  9. Tell us if you come up with anything Bless you Captain
  10. I asked a similar question years ago. The response I got was to watch the movie "Bicentennial Man". It would not be very pleasant watching your loved ones die one after another. But reading some of the Bible, I vaguely recall a guy called "Job" who found God, God gave him crap loads of benefits including living until the 4th generation of his offspring (that made him a great-great-grandfather?) which would have been a long time in those days. I personally, would end up trying to follow the 'will' of my spirit, help people out and do some preaching. or "doing the work" as it's called in the spiritualist scene. Which is what I'm doing now Blessings of Longevity

Other points to consider..... There are many dangers involved in releasing advanced knowledge to those unprepared to receive it. As the theosophists say, its like placing a stick of dynamite in the hands of a baby. Not only can one harm themselves but they risk harming those around them. [ref: C.W. Leadbeater/Theosophy] Second, there are 'luciferian' forces in existence that encourage individuals to attain slightly more advanced knowledge and development but only to a certain level and only for the purpose of enslaving that individual. [ref: R. Steiner/Anthoposophy] I guess its a case of 'careful what you say and who you say it to' Blessings of disclosing the right knowledge at the right time !

Hey Stimpy, that sounds scarey ! Would you or anyone care to interpret that for me ? Blessings of Not Falling by the Sword   !
  14. Deceived...

Thanks z00se, I would probably agree with you. The quote and book title are not particularly enlightening. I certainly wouldn't brand Christianity as 'poison' (although some would). BTW, there is another belief around that says that the majority of egocentric thoughts which arise within an individual are the result of foreign installations. The Gnostics call them Archons, Castaneda calls them flyers. I would probably call them elementals. Blessings of 'Cleaning the Glass'
  15. Deceived...

Another relevant quote ? "Life is offering you individuality, but it is also hammering your ego at every step of the way. It is not always easy to identify which is which. Awareness and experience should do the trick. With each little illusion that goes, you are one step closer to real." "Ego is your personality, the truth is your individuality. You have to drop the personality. You have to stand utterly naked before existence. You have to melt down like ice into the ocean of this great divineness all around." (from "Christianity: The Deadliest Poison and Zen: The Antidote to All Poisons", Chapter 1)

  17. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

Thank you Deci, That is a nice way to think of the transition. I recently posted a point of view that those who reach a very high state of consciousness (one of the most high) after death, come to the realization that they actually prefer to return in order to serve their fellow human beings. (http://thetaobums.com/topic/31213-christian-mysticism/page-14). Perhaps there is a chance that you might be coming back to serve your beloved humanity I can see it now....... "Deci's 10 step guide to liberation" a No.1 best seller 20 years in a row, now available in paperback. You could help/save millions ! Don't you reckon that returning amongst humanity to give service would be more wonderful and more to do with God's love than waiting to die and releasing the 'skin bag' ? (no need to answer, I think I know what you're going to say) Bless you Deci
  18. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

Thanks Deci, I understand everything you have said in your last post ! I have a few more off-topic questions you might want to tackle. Like what are your thoughts on the afterlife? The idea of salvation ? Maintaining your awareness at the point of death ? What guarantees the continuation of consciousness ? Where do you think you'll end up ? We can leave these questions for another thread. Bless you Deci.
  19. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

Thanks Deci, That is some nice info to think about. All I would add is the point that the majority of humanity, either consciously or unconsciously, take on Karma in order to gain experiences (enhancing the soul so to speak). When the cup is 'full', he cries out, takes the red pill and the prodigal son begins on his long journey back home. Bless you Deci
  20. Thoughts on destiny

I'll mention this (supposedly true) story again... There was a guy that was told before hand of everything that was going to happen to him in the following weeks. So he knew who he was going to meet, what he was going to do, who would ring on the phone, who would visit and knock on the front door, etc.. After a few months of this he started to become suicidal. Why ? (I hear you ask) Because the mystery of life had been taken away from him. Blessings of Keeping the Mystery !
