  1. I don't know what to do anymore

If you are breathing mostly through your mouth your breathing would be out of tune, and I would suggest adressing this issue seriously as this may be playing a massive part in your suffering. Do you suffer from allergies? Or similar? If you feel better by playing sports by all means take up sports more seriously an explore this option. Sometimes in our life we are shown the path so obviously that we almost overlooked it becouse of its simplicity. Listen to life. Body is incerdible and has a lot of healing potential , nothing is permanent . Even your pain will come to pass. This is just how it is.
  2. My first full lotus experiences

I have wondered the other day how are we here on TTB connected, it is peculiar.
  3. I don't know what to do anymore

Did you go to the doctor? What did the doctor say? Maybe you suffer from ME or similar if you are so fatigued. Did you talk to someone proffesional about this in person?
  4. I think this could easily be a case of cultural differences and Dalai Lama not having a real frame of reference of going to the pizza shop and ordering a pizza for himself. Being brought up and having lived in a quite preordered way according to his religious/political duty and schedule. Having whole day pretty much planned out for him since childhood. To be honest having travelled for longer time to places of very different cultures to my own I have also found myself misunderstanding people due to cultural references , although we may have spoken in English and my conversational English being good . Few times results were nearly disasterous and I got to understand that only afterwards. The way to talk to spiritual master is not uniformed. What is important how 'you'talk and treat everyone and the whole of enviroment all the time. What is the intention and from what kind of place does it come from? Does it feel right? If it feels right ,then one will automaticaly know how to behave appropriateley.
  5. Do Ya'll guys drink?

Havent had a drop for past 15 years since I stopped for a while once I took up daily spiritual practise . Remeber feeling great and clear after 6 months of non drinking expiriment and have no need for a drink.
  6. Taoist practices for women

I find this interesting to read through and am happy to read about female practises .Thanks K for sharing. Thanks for your comments Deci I enjoyed reading those too. Personally I didnt find it sexist , just written from female energy point of view . However little bit boring in parts in a way of concerning with what I see as the unecesarry details and maybe a little stagnant (didnt read whole book yet though, just bits). Maybe I even misunderstand some parts as I am not so familiar with concepts. Anyone feels to comment on what is written below (page 41). Whats with third kind of energy a 'inorganic energy'? I know hardly anything about Taoist alchemy and wonder if this is a commonly accepted fact? 'Besides Yin energy, which women need to strengthen and regulate before developing and cultivating Yang energy, there is a third type of energy, which cannot be ignored. In accepting conditions defined by men, women have come to a situation where their functions are disturbed from birth, thus neither being able to realise Yin, nor use Yang energies. As a result they lose twice as much energy during their lifetime as men do. It is difficult to define it externally: for example, it is believed that women live longer then men and yet they are able to expend more energy. According to alchemical laws and knowledge, it is considered a corruption of the transformational practice if women’s energy-consuming organs are focused on their survival. This existence forces them to use more effort than men in order to absorb energy from the surrounding world. The quality of this degradation, together with the loss of access to primary sources of knowledge, changed female energy so much that they began giving birth to descendants with altered energy. The energy of these children is neither yang nor yin, but is a third kind, which we will refer to as inorganic.'
  7. Taoist practices for women

sorry triple post ,I am going mad this morning
  8. Should Teachers Charge $$ For Teaching?

I have met quite a few teachers who dont charge anything and they are doing finacially just fine either by having a regular work life or living as hermits. There is nothing wrong in charging and nothing wrong in not charging IMO depends on a teacher and what s/he teaches. The only thing to watch out for both as a student and a teacher is greed. Greed often wears a clever guise of right action.

  12. "Spirit" - what is it?

Wow what happened since I was here last . I was gonna comment(although its been a week - I am often late ,it is a part of my personality) on this which is also an attempt to change the current rhytam. This may be right. My mum used to be a classical ballet dancer training literally 7 hours a day 5 sometimes 6 days a week. 20 years after she stopped she took up meditation dilligently to sort herself out(she cured rheumatisam, nervous disorder and sleeplesness)and told me that now she can understand why she loved ballet so much ,it is the same feeling and sense of wellbeing that she feels in meditation. Anways this guy in the video is WICKED!

  15. Anyone tried living on just brown rice?

A lot of yogis live on predominatly kichadi too with some vegetables claiming its norishing properties. I used it a lot as my main retreat food some years ago and it works.
  16. Learning Qi Gong/Yoga/Meditation in Asia?

Cant reccomend any teachers in Asia at the moment. I do agree with what CT said. Go and enjoy , live and learn your own way that you find attractive. Sounds like a good plan. Everybodys life is uniqley theirs , like perfectly fitted clothes . Expirience/'mistakes'/problems should be lived through as they are often best teachers and apply very uniqley on individual level and are one of our own most valuable possesions. What is relevant and matters to me, may not matter to someone else.
  17. OMG! A Huge Raw Foods Bodybuilder!

Servant? I like it. OK than be a good boy and get me some nice bananas. P.S. for you . We are all so different and I love it.
  18. "Spirit" - what is it?

It just crossed my mind that this is a Taoist Discussion only and that maybe I shouldnt be posting undaoist stuff on here. Just thinking out loud , dont know how serious is this offence , if at all.
  19. "Spirit" - what is it?

This will not answer the original post directly , maybe just give different point of view. Where I am from it is common to talk of spirit/soul (they are the same word but spirit is duh (male) and soul is dusha(female)and can have slightly different usage) as a very alive part of us , without any spiritual/religous conotations whatsoever. It is just normal. Something that is still a fabric of our culture. Most interesting thing is that people feel it and talk about it , but never think what are they actually saying, almost noone ever says what is spirit or I dont believe in spirit etc.when mentioned in common converstaions . Some do tend to avoid talking of it however and may consider it uncool for some reasons. Most have used it in conversation at least sometimes. Even my hard core communist grandparents(who are no more) talked of soul. It is quite common to hear people say things like: 'My spirit hurts today.' or if in love you can say to another person : 'You are my spirit'. or 'This has been done without any spirit' meaning carelessly and dry. or 'I am running out of spirit' , Literal translation for example for mental illnes is 'dushevna bolest' meaning 'the illnes of the spirit/soul'. Sometimes people talk to their spirit/soul for example:'My spirit/soul where do you want to go?'etc. So when I was 18 and went to UK by myself for the first time (except for loving the country)I thought in my young mind - what a strange nation , where is their soul/spirit? In another words I could understand the language but not the attitude and social norms of the country. And on topic ever fresh Mr. Manuva, Let the spirit move you Let the spirit soothe you Let the spirit know you PS nice theread and interesting posts
  20. Emptiness

This reminds me of something I have read by Chief Leon Shanadooh 'Everything is laid out for you Sometimes it is invisable but it is there. You may not know where it is going but you have to follow that path. It is the only path there is.' It also reminds me of my current fave Toddla Ts sorry I just had to add this although it is nothing to do with topic but my associationsIt is a small print though so maybe it wont matter that much.
  21. Whiteness descending while meditation

I dont believe either that a preson can become detached completley at least not for a very long time . This means also that it is simply imposiblle(IMO) to be egoless and exist as a human being. Detachment is very important , but it has to come from deep knowing in the form of 'letting go', as opposed to being forced . Becouse if there isnt any letting go then a person spins in the same place over and over again , and yes this is how illness can occur. deci belle, Strange feeling of your post. What prompted you to say that cihan may kill himself? Becouse he said he feels as if he is dying? I agree what Hundun said about the thin line between fear and bliss.
  22. Matter or consciousness?

Say hi to it from Auntie Sun!
  23. Matter or consciousness?

Ah OK I was just wandering becouse your friend asked you the same question and you started to explain about Rishis going to samadhi .
  24. Matter or consciousness?

What a conversation! No wonder you had to walk away and talk about something else. What about the underlying consciousness you spoke of? And how do you know that it exists forever ? How do you know?
