  1. Considerate Christian Women Abort

Ask the women? If this kind of various statistics are correct (dont have opinion if they are or not personally at this moment, I am sleepy ). My take would be that devotional aspect, spirituality through devotion`as in Christianity and utilising their own emotions as a tool appeals to women as that is what a lot of women feel at home with. Emotions are as valid as logic when used as a tool for self help. Budhisam is very masculine system of thought for example(not good or bad again , just is)in the way that employs logic and more sort of penetrative thinking of figuring things out . This could be one of the reasons.
  2. How do we lose our desire?

Just saying that I have read your post . My exploration is more along the lines what if whole of the manifeted nature is a form of desire in some way. What you wrote is valid to your expirience , but it would break my back. Not becouse I am saying you are wrong or right but simply wrong weight for my structure. Plus I cannot hold too much today, my brain is just going into relaxation mode by itself.
  3. Sex and Karma

Intersting, something I felt too . Care to share more? Like suggestions how to cut them and determing the apprpopriatness? What about familiy relationships? Or Michael, if you fancy sharing on the subject at all?
  4. Heat

zanshin, tummo is the answer ,haha. Have you read this thread? http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/20795-tummo/page__hl__tummo How is your circulation by the way? I find just going outside for strecth and run really warming and so helpful in cold weather.
  5. "Light on the Path" by M.C.

Steve , how intersting my case was exactly opposite from yours. Like a mirror opposite, relating emotionally has always been easy, but learning emotional detachment was soooo hard. However it has proved very fruitful and best skill ever learned. Interesting how we all have different approaches to life situation and 'devils lurking' at the different corners.
  6. "Light on the Path" by M.C.

'One on The Path must be brave, and must acquire a mastery over the emotional nature.'(original quote) Underlined bit: This something I have been considering as I have burnt myself(so to speak )on that very issue many times, as being naturally outspoken and temperamental and had to learn how to estinguish my fire . I would say not shying away of telling the truth when it needs to be said , definetley not telling a lie and learning when not to say anything is a good approach to living. After some contemplation right now, actually being brave in this case doesent speak to me. Bravery is not something I worked much in my life. Being daring is just spontanious natural curiosity, but bravery for some reason doesent appeal. Same with emotional control , I appricaite the implications and meaning of the text. And see it as valid path .However the controlling part would never work due to personal make up . Therefore I find control unnuatractive and a heavy weight to carry around. Openning ,adjusting ,accepting is something more useful to me. dwai: ' So emotional maturity would mean to relize when an emtion rises what its root is and in knowing that to not attach.' Yes true, my understanding too. Learning what to engage with. Not getting blown away by every little psychic wind that blows.
  7. Have you found the Heart-Center?

    Yeah totally.
  8. How do we lose our desire?

'@suninmyeyes You, too, provide delicious irony, because you didn't notice that Everything wrote "surpassing", not "suppressing". Who's drunk now? ' Good point Hardyq . Had to google the word , I thought it is spelling mistake. It does give a different meaning to what Everything said. It did not seem to be something he would normally write at all as I understood it first time around. PS I dont know who is drunk , I am not, are you?
  9. How do we lose our desire?

What do you mean Everything? How do you mean it? From which perspective? 'Supressing desires is not good , but supressing desires should be very peacefull.' What have you just said there? Are you drunk on Tuesday evening?(well its Tuesday evening here..) So let me interpret what you just said: Supressing desires is not good in violent manner , however if that same supression is done peacefully maybe noone will notice and it is actually OK and benefitting.
  10. Yoga Sutras -- Chapter 1

The mind is not scattered anymore(as mentioned in previous part). Modifications of the mind settled down into one pointed of state of yoga. Witness state occurs naturally.
  11. "Light on the Path" by M.C.

Yo yogis! This seems to be in line with yogic thinking . 'Before the eyes can see, they must be incapable of tears. Before the ear can hear, it must have lost its sensitiveness. Before the voice can speak in the presence of the Masters, it must have lost the power to wound. Before the soul can stand in the presence of the Masters, its feet must be washed in the blood of the heart.' This rings true. I am not 100% sure what he means by the` Master bit though,as yogis ideas of Masters and the whole sentiment can be very different to daoist for example. However I prefer this ,written by manitou: 'When the voice has lost the power to wound, it is because we become capable of being the other person, of lowering our own personal resistance to understand the direction of the other; we know we are at One with the other. The message of Love Your brother as yourself becomes clear to us, and the realization sinks in at some point that we're all the one and the same(I would add but different). We innately start treating each other more kindly, and caring more for the planet, and begin to realize it's all just a big living thing that somehow get to interact in a multi-sense way, more than other animals assumedly, with this particular universe.' 'One on The Path must be brave, and must acquire a mastery over the emotional nature.' Here I propose question to everyone. What is brave for you ? Emotional mastery , how do you relate to this, does it habe a meaning for you ? And what is it, how do you apply it? Ill write few words of my opinion about it tomorrow.
  12. Have you found the Heart-Center?

Lets glue that karma together sister ! I think if 'you' are a love driven type of person that wants to counciously stay in that chanell feeling all glued up and coneccted and radiate peace and harmony as a perogative and number one choice , becouse it feels good and at natural ease. Every little bit of forgetfullnes and rash decission hurt . Not to mention ocassional being an asshole towards someone, its like stabbing myself. This is a sign for glue alert. Need some more. Open up my being wider fearleslly for deeper connection to emerge. And take off another layer of clothes , it is too heavy. As oness thing I agree it is there and feel it and on some level there is essence , but am not sure about the Essence . The Essence seems somehow limiting Is there beyond Essence? What is it? To be honest this is something I am expoloring these days and want to establish this knowing through my own experiental knowledge.
  13. tummo

OK I think I get your point. If you read up on Wim Hof he mentiones tummo in interwievs and some of the videos. Now of course I dont know 100%true or not as I havent met him personally. I can only use my intuition for now. Maybe some people have developed their own tummo and copy it as you say. Personally I am not that much into purity of practise and all that as I am into ability to keep warm. Maybe different people have different agendas in life. One may be to be famous due to tummo and another equally succesfull at practise may not be famous and just live normal life working in the factory or something. As for yogic abilities being found by that researcher only (if it is predominatntley I could accept it, but not only)among India and Sikh yogis, again I say that he didnt know where to look. Logically there are people like this all around the world ,this is a part of balance(of some sort) on the earth. Also many people wont show their abillities .As I say different agendas.
  14. Thank you Tao Bums

Hi Immortal, I must admit to an almost an allerigic reaction when 'Westerners' are being compared to Asians as having less of a spiritual capacity or something and being put down like that. I suggest that maybe the resarcher you have mentioned did not know where to look. I lived in Asia for 4 years and met MANY fraudelent practicioners there too. For example: I recall just coming to this pilgrimige spot meeting a friend who was there already for some time. We sat on the verandha sipping tea and watching the street. Then he pointed out a sadhu with long hair dressed in white looking at two females. My friend was saying:'I watched him do this every day now, look he is going to start chatting to them, he is looking for students and there is a chance that theyll fall for him too. So we looked and listend and that is what happened. The irony is that my friend knew him becouse he(sadhu) has just arrived in that place recently, attended 2 weeks yoga course and become a 'guru'. How about this white guy, fraud? Tummo is his practise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=madoDvtKEes

  19. Or what was it that you ever found most spiritually inspirin ? Or what are you into right now? And why? How did it affect you? You maybe into for example qigong but find really beneficial right now working with some new idea you may have read somwhere or your friend told you about..What is it and why? Can you reccomend a link, book etc.that was especially beneficial or inspiring on the path?(would be nice to get some reccomendations like this ) Doing any interesting research or spiritual study at the moment? What is it? Share your inspiration any way you like, becouse it was(is) strong enough to move something in you. Thanks upfront to anyone who participates. Hopefully ALL will answer and inspire.
  20. Thanks everyone for sharing. Keep inspiring! PS Love your cartoon Sinfest.
  21. Actually reading on Chod practise that you reccomeneded recently in one of the therads by Machik Labrdon. Reading and working with: 'Feeding your demons'book by Tultsrim Allione http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=1K4sPwAACAAJ&dq=feeding+your+demons&hl=en&ei=r7qITtbkNI2u8QPS5dFW&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CC0Q6AEwAA. This is very similar to understanding I have that actually got me suprised while reading it that there is a whole system ,well articulated that is coincides with my thinking. So you se you never know when we mention these things who may be benefitting. Basicaly adressing some mental/emotional patterns that need adressing haha. And getting back slowly to sitting for longer periods , getting back in shape like this after few years of not being able to as much as Id like to. Looking around about practise of magic in ex Yugoslavia and legends connected to it ,which has very shamanic roots . In some parts especially Eastern Serbia it is still very alive (magic but am not sure of shamanic part) and every village has a 'wise man or a woman'(often ridiculed by a lot of people). None of the links are in English , it is virtually unknown outside of the borders. Here is a you tube link , not in English and a bit tacky at places, but some of the practicioners are there and interesting to see , also their power place is in video by river and caves and a special tree. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT4Ut4VXFH0&feature=related one of the ladies getting into trans towards the end of the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t904hnUCpVs This is not a demonic cult though as some explain it,that is a misinterpretation.
  22. horseboy(documentary)

I was feasting on the landscape in documentary! And thinking how I would love to visit that part of the world , including/especially Siberia(as I mentioned in one of our conversations once, but never made it this summer ). Going away for the winter instead(not to Sibearia though ). Do you go Siberia ever/often?
  23. Thank you Tao Bums

This is the only forum I have ever participated in my life. There is something special here. We are creating a spiritual well of information and joined spiritual effort in psychic realm. Many times something happens either during the day or in practise , I remeber what has been said in forum by a memeber and apply to see if it works better. Or have a revelation of some sort due to pondring on some concept mentioned or read in one of the links. Thanks everyone. edit:PS nice to read your post LBdaoist
