I have learned it through Kriya Yoga too,the way I was thought it there was a lot of emphasis was put on listening throughout the day and of course whilst sitting too.Some people can hear it so very loud even whilst going about their day.Throughout the years I have learned to listen and hear more and more.Nowdays if something is out of wack or needs adressing or I am really happy inside of me ,I hear it too not just feel it as we are made out of sound on some level. It is very beutiful becouse sound is always here ,going on forever even if I became forgetful,it surfaces again calling me back in .Very comforting.

Hi exsorcist, I saw photos of Buddhist hermit when I was in Sri Lanka.Someone found him meditating ,sitting still on the rock deep in the jungle for many days .And he was covered in mosquitos,leeches,flies.Covered. One thing I dont do is leeches,mosquitos are tolerable .Leeches make me scream very loud.Maybe I should take up qigong again. I even had to deal with the scorpios (crawling on the walls in the middle of the night)of my meditation hut. First night I didnt sleep,second night I spend meditating and switching on the light every 30 min ,to see if there is any scorpios nearby.Third night I thought:sod this,I cant be bothered anymore and went to sleep as normal.They never bit me in 5 days we shared the accomodation very closley.I think it was luck rather then anything else. It is as worthwile thinking about attacks of bears and pumas too (they too are very real and can be scary)if they live in the forest too .Ensuring to be aware how to react in case of encounter. What do you mean able qigong practicioners are free of skin diseases,any skin diseases?Or?Just courious about that...

To answer oringinal post,I dont know much about enligtement ,but my main tool is listening to a sound resonating within me.It is a technique with which one learns to dissolve into the sound and can be practised constantly.It is good way to learn to be in tune.Cosmic tune. This sound is not fictional or imagined or hummed.I love it ,it is my home.

Hi Songs, Yeah I have read some stuff about sungazing ,all I can remeber is that according to one teacher you have to start slowly daily and then build up slowly and sungaze for longer periods. Have read Aivanhov ,it was a book about chakras and one about spirit/astral world,some stuff he writes is interesting.What is the main practise in his Surya Yoga? As to connecting with sun -I love him since I was a child,we are friends. I have actually been looking up surya yoga these past few days funnily enough ,it an alchemical practise.Hamsa Yogi too who teaches it and talks about it.

I like your topic mewtwo! My name 'suninmyeyes'is here becouse I love sun so incredible much . Having sun in my eyes(especially in the bleak winter when I joined TTB it was such a rarity) and feeling sun conecction with my heart is just so good.One of the best feelings. My avatar is Vassilisa the Beutiful,she is a student of Baba Yaga who is in Slavic mythology an old crone/wise woman living alone in the woods. The drawing is made by a fantastic Russian artist called Ivan Bilibin. Baba Yaga is a very strong archetype for a female wisdom of knowing and being comfortable with life as it is -that is not cherished as much any more.That type of being has been replaced by more musculine logic and aspiring in general. With time Baba Yaga archetype has been turned by church (with its god far away somwhere in heaven )into a nasty witch who eats young children as her story is told nowdays.Turned into commodity to say at least . Where I grew up kids are told that if theye are naughty they will be taken away by Baba Yaga (old witch that eats children).Unfortunatley people dont understand what deeply awful impact this 'innocent'saying can have in shaping young minds. For me Baba Yaga and old way of Slavic womens knowing is very inspiring and connects me to my own natural feminine knowing that is connected with all of life.

Twinner ,my heart goes to you. The one thing I could suggest in most friendly and caring manner and hope it comes out right,is be clever and learn your lesson ,look what situation is created and do something about it ,either now or in the near future.Take it as a form of active meditation(that is what I find best way of doing things),concentrate and reach your goal keeping in mind getting a job and a place to live.This stuff is important. The awarness has to be brought down to physical if person wants to have fulffiling life- either you totally give up material(I mean tottaly )or you start being serious and nourish that aspect of your life. Suffering is natures alert that something needs adressing. Change your chilhood pattern of being poor,reconstruct it,you can do it.At some point on the path we have to dig dip through all the nastiness and dirt. I should know all this as I have done it myself and had a similar issue as a main obstacle ,but unfortunatley didnt see as something that needs serious adressing for a long time. Dont worry about your faith and all this,you are fine just like this at every given moment whatever the change ,exactly how you are and are perfect part of all there is.

Wow I never even knew there was running qigong!Thats cool . How long is it reccomended to run for,if any time limits?I guess I am suprised and curious becouse I thought all running practises were considered kind of 'anti cultivation'in Taoist circles due to the loss('loss')of chi or something.Dont know much about chi stuff or similar ,so this could easily be a very ignorant statment. I like running exactly becouse what this author is talking about,the feeling of lightness and fluidity that pushes my soul out. Otis- I am with you big time on classes in schools that guide kids to play,listen ,learn.You have some talent going on, maybe you should get yourself going and develop some program/workshops.Have you ever thought about this?We need a revolution in this field!

Long time ago I have read an Indian story about washing . It talked about how when you put dirty clothes in the water and start cleaning it with the soap which is another kind of dirt ,there will be a lot of dirt arising in the water. Same with mind(mental/emotional states) and meditation.Everything that would be much nicer stored in the mental box comes out and spills all over the place causing confusion and havoc. Keep on washing and rinsing well. There is loads of stuff in everyone and all around that is unhealthy,that is nature.There is a saint and a killer in everyone.It is the matter of reprograming habits and learning to choose to have harmonious life. Being ones own parent in that way of inner education. Good luck to your friend and crossing the fire!

As Sloppy said downard dissolving is great. I would reccomend to observe wherther you are breathing equally through both nostrils ,if not try and breathe very gently and deeply at the back of you head medulla oblongata and regulate your breath flow at that place.It is often the case that breathing is through one of nostrils more( depending if person is in more active or restful mood etc. )and ideally it should flow through both. Otherwise just put some music that makes you want to dance and move /dance very openly and freely ,allowing the body to guide.

Oh I see,I was wandering becouse you have said"if you would succefully deconstruct ego.."so I assumed that there is somebody doing it,and then youve answered that it does it by itself(which I also believe it does but that is not known on some levels). In my universe intellect is discriminative faculty and differs from mind (which is group of thoughts) and ego would be that which chooses to identfy with the thoughts and translates them into actions. I also believe that the baby has an ego however tiny or not brought to frutation yet.But than again I am not a taoist.

Hello Dorian Black, So who is this who is able to deconstruct the ego and superego in your opinion according to the ego theory youve posted ? Intelect?Mind?'Higher' ego?Or? And who is this who is in the control? (see what is underlined in your post) Does nature have an ego or is it our real ego?Or is the nature ego of god ? Just something I am courious about latley..

I would like to add that internet is incredible and very real sign that human beings are shifting perspective on life and are not being turned into robots.It is our collective blueprint and so very alive and full of potentials ,connecting people all around the world. And this is just a beggining stage of internet,who knows what could it meatmorphosise into eventually given current speed of technology development?Maybe internet has potenitial to become linked to our body and sort of altered through the mind waves or something like this(this is me imagining now,but you never know..) Here is an interesting bit I found reading the book called 'The return of the feminine and the World Soul' by L.Vaughan Lee: 'One of the limitations of our present understanding of he Interenet is that we have not fully realized the new dynamic created by the many new connections that are being made.We do not recognize that it is the connections themselves that are most impoertant,not information or goods themselves that are exchanged.When this connections come alive ,then interent will wake to its full potential. I like the shaman way,it is also the way of some Hindu sects and some Sufis. I saw a real life exorcisam recently and some similar stuff and its so wierd .The vibe was like:what the f***is going on here?!-very intense(I must add not my favourite way to spend time). In this case it seems spirits were fought with the power of the open heart which 'bleaches'out all the nastiness plus some prayers which work as missails. And after few times hearing these people scream and reading the atmosphere this become obvious,the doubts I had dissapeared. I also think most of us encounter them as we coexist . Thats very interesting what you have said about Chod Jetsun,I am going to check out Machik Labdron .

I know personally 2 European women of which one eats nothing and another did it for 2 years in a meditation reterat,just drinking some milk .No big deal and these are very normal women/human beings.People are doing it all over the world .In my opinion there has to be at least semi balance on the Earth for the life to continue so there would be masters -as you call them everywhere. I have also met a Indian hermit living in high Himalayas in some cave who didnt eat/drink as the river froze most of the winter(got a skill out of need)an spend most time in spiritual practises/mediation got some powers.Astral travel and similar. But when functioning in physical world he was super messed up and dissorienteted.When me and my mate visited him whilst on the terk -at some point he put on ski boots someone gave him on to go and pick some herbs(!) .And than spotted his hermit neighbour and start chasing him with the an axe.Later on within next 10 min we have discovered that this guy has serious emotional issues regardless of his continuus spiritual practise.Few months after he was taken down by police due to his violent behaviour. Some hermit gossip ,food for thought. Anyways Himalayas are very beutiful .Gold is right people can be racist and snobbish AND sexist,but also some people Ive met there are the warmest and welcoming people ever. Do what you feel you gotta do,not what you think you should do always works well.
