LEONARDO DA VINCI’S VIOLA ORGANISTA DEBUTS, 500 YEARS AFTER INVENTION Use your ← → arrow keys to navigate 1of1 PUBLISHED18 Nov 2013 SHARE The ultimate Renaissance man invented an organ-harpsichord-viola hybrid, but it was never built or played until now. Leonardo da Vinci left a design for the viola organista in his Codex Atlanticus manuscripts, but historians believe that the strange musical instrument was never constructed during his lifetime. 500 years after its invention, Polish concert pianist and instrument builder Slawomir Zubrzycki has built the instrument, which combines a piano’s keyboard with the mechanisms of string instruments. The viola organista features a keyboard connected to a bed of steel strings, like a baby grand piano. Unlike a piano, however, it has no dulcimers, but spinning, horse-tail hair-wrapped wheels that act like violin bows and are activated by a foot pedal. The sound is comparable to that of an organ, cello or accordian. Zubrzycki spent three years and 5,000 man-hours crafting the instrument, and says, “I have no idea what Leonardo da Vinci might think of the instrument I’ve made, but I’d hope he’d be pleased.” Watch video of the viola organista in action below. Manitou , where does the character come from and when , at what point ? Good or bad , annoying , jelouos , joyful , content or sad ? Who is this character ? Who do this characteristics belong to ? It seems as if it is a formula that has helped someone achieve something at some point in time . However life is has its own unpredictable ways and timings ...and some opposites may work out perfectly depending on situation and person .

Yes I can understand , I was thinking the other day that psychic stuff (in many ways ) is not really fun as it takes a lot of adjusting and skill , some stuff I just rather not know . It would be easier .

Karma is cause and effect ,the reason why is something the way it is . Maybe even more correct , sort of attachment to cause and effect . For example to make tea happen -- one needs to take tea bag and a cup , and boil the kettle . Last night shopping contributed tea come to life , together with a shopping bag , clock to see if shop is still open , clothes that keep warm , house keyes , waterproof shoes and money erned . So many causes and causes of the causes just for single cup of tea . Like this everything comes to life , not necessary only bad or good ,heaven and hell . Some paths calculate a lot and do rituals according to star positions etc .....it can get pretty strenous and complicated . Personally I do not think in terms of karma but in terms of tracing back the cause within and with that uprooting the mental and emotional weeds and unecessary seeds . Yes I def agree with you on practising being a decent person . This is a platform for more universal understanding , without it it is just not going to happen .

Some Indian women told that in this case one should take of their shoe/flip flop (!) and smack offender on the face with it . This is meant to be hight of degradation and way to bring others positive attention appropriatley in this kind of situation so people will understand what is going on .

In my expirience India is extremly sexist and can be disrespectful towards women who do not fit into a good "wife category" . Incredible really , some man just help themselves and feel very free to grab parts of a woman on street or public transport . It is not unusual , it does not mean that it happens to everyone , but it is so much more common occurance than in Europe for exampl Do love India a lot , as it is very special place and have met some lovley people there , but this discrimination aspects really puts me off . In comparison to Thailand for example which is a breeze where man are predominatly just super cool . I could dress in normal clothes and was left alone without comments and constant stares , very friendly people who know what importance personal space means .

This is very interesting , cultural differences -- the way life is expressed geographicly can be different in some ways . In many cultures there is no male/female friendship at all , in some places friendship is not AT ALL same what we would consider friendship and intimacy between friends here in Europe . But yeah it is ANNOYING not to be able to move around freely in some places around the world becouse of being female .

Hey Bagua , dont know whats up with my reply options today , cant quote for now .. but to quickly reply yes the women living in China were white . One of them knew the language , another not . I spend quite few years in SE Asia and did not know the language . Well learned a bit of Hindi eventually .. One black girl I know went to China recently and enjoyed it , but she did some art project colaboration with some people there . Answer you later the rest .

Bagua , I know 2 women who lived one year and few years in China and enjoyed it .Collegue of mine goes there all the time . She does kung fu and has already made friends over there and stuff , she traveled everywhere in China alone , on the trains , buses , small places ... Met few people living in Hong Kong and loving it for vibrant atmosphere and culture and art ...

Rara , my opinion is that it depends on where you are at . If you are truly capable to "shower love" in your dreams than do it as that is going to raise your vibrations and do not allow space and reason for negativity of any sort . If not , experiment and see what works . It is about finding our own unique courage , love , wisdom -- our own way of relating to life . Learning to walk all over again . On spiritual path we are learning how innerscape and outerscape , dream and awake connect and interviene . What you are going through is a MUST for all of us , and we all must learn it -- our way . Learn to navigate through these pathless pathways without any signposts and see through thick fog . It is really strange how life turns out to be .
