Great work Darin! Much Appreciated the American Clothes comment. Your arms are proportional to your stance. I noticed your hands seperating planes on single whip but getting comfortable when the film is rolling is great practice. Love it. Thank you. 8KrJKwNvT8s

  4. Reverse breathing dangerious?

Generally speaking a regular exercise routine will help relax the mind enough to bring the breathing into rhythm. Meditation exercises like chi gung specialize in this. After that experimentingly gently with different rhythms is just that, experimental and helps sweeten the enjoyment of practice. Like experimenting holding your breath under water when your a kid or slowshing back and forth in the tub. Forcing anything doesn't feel good and is like trying to force threading a needle. Wuji. Move Liver Fire dis eases : forget about focusing on the problem. just remember your learning the solution by letting go. It doesn't help to focus on the pain of getting punched in the face, it helps to remember to step to the side when you get a feed that tells you that punch is coming. -------- It's natural to avoid pain. Animals do it too. Thats the mind illusion separating into the duality. Pain and Pleasure bind us all together. Stand still and die. Holding your arms up is relaxing. Without wuji your talking like a fat goose quacks before i eat his liver. Experience is the Mother of Wisdom. The most important situations in your life require no thought... simple intantaneous action. Like getting out of the way of a moving car. Theres no end to letting go. You can let go forever. From knowing one technique of finding wuji, all techniques you could ever learn literally spring to life from that common origin. Our human origin. From wuji the chinese comological drama plays out in human form. A timeless drama. In all classical forms of chinese movement education the "opening" of the form opens a gateway to the "empti" space called "wuji" which oils the hinges of the "gates" allowing a variety of combinations of possible "planes". Perhaps this is interdimensional travel, picking things up, climbing ladders, stepping over rocks, balancing on beams, stepping through doorways, getting out of the way of falling objects. It's all profound when you lose yourself in the accidental moments. It's beauty in motion rooted in stillness. No division, from ten thousand to one, from one ten thousand. stillness in motion. No drones, theres peace at the center of the cyclone. Peace is Bliss.

Thank you winpro. I enjoy your reflections, they guide towards a grounded practice. Here is a rootimentary statement. Repeated ego death produces experiential results. This can happen along a number of different routes. Some short and sweet, others long and bitter.

  9. Wuji Dimension

Winkest link in your chain of reasoning. Survival is where Jesus vanished into the crowd. Survival is at the root. Time in the forest is practical. Your approach to problem solving is intellectual to me at this point. Does it solve pain? Someone might punch a whole in you and see themselves I'm sure. Nothing new here. Talk is cheap. Walk. On Wuji: If I can sell enlightenment in the form of wuji I'm sure people would spend money on it. As it is, it smells fresh, feels good, flows, adapts and changes into useful tools for every occasion. Theres nothing to it. Ask anyone. Edited again: I missed this until now. never mind.
  10. Wuji Dimension

You like to hear yourself talk. I wasn't talking about enlightenment, I was talking about wuji. Truth speaks for itself. Keep living in your dream world of words. Your talking around your own obsticles that the rest of us don't share. Physics are truth. rAicu-IPjMw

  12. Wuji Dimension

Fundamentally I like to break rare things. Then I don't have to look for rarity. It's all around. How close would you stand to my treasure trove while we have this conversation? It is fundamental to movement and mind. If it was not there would be no such thing as fight or flight state. For example: what your saying in koan (although a fun mental masturbation) defines the following two mens movement as fundamentally the same. But are very clearly not the same. One experiences wuji as the connective root from which all motion eminates, the other does not. Which is which? And who is who? And why is this so? vQEe-6z5UfU CXZwVLjTzC0 Waves are for surfing. ' Glad your thinking along these lines. You still got an arrow sticking in you. Let me gently remove it. Free choice is the rule. If after being w/ a teacher if you have more choices in your life, this is an aspect of liberation. If you feel you have been irreversibly changed and you have no choice but to follow "their" path, this is mind control. So whathat kind? I am not big on comparisons, but the truth speaks for itself, Cameron, how many times have I mentioned my teachers name or the name of the art I practice? Go ahead and search for it on here. I won't change or delete a thing, You won't find my teachers name. I think I have mentioned Yi Chuan a few times. So if enlightenment and practice go hand in hand, what is the need to continually reference groups and made up names? Original thought and action speaks for itself. On this note I am considering going on a workshop circuit, to share what has been shared with me. Why not? It seems there are some fundamental misunderstandings about wuji in the taoist martial/healing community. My reasons for doing is I want to travel to a few key places and practice, but that requires money, and I'm tired of working doors as it doesn't pay well for what you have to do and it's a conflict oriented job, so what is better then getting paid to share my love? So simple.
  14. Wuji Dimension

Yes and now. There is a difference between normal consciousness and wuji consciousness or dimension as it's called in this thread. If there was not grandma would not have ever lifted the trailer off grandpa that summer he drank that 6 pack and it fell on him. Once a person with training is familiar with the minds ability to zero out you might be able to "access" it at anytime, but until that point most people only experience emptiness or the complete uncommited potential of humaness in those "special" moments of life. Like grandma lifting that travel trailer off grandpas chest. Not true. If I zero out and you attack me, you hurt yourself. That is physical fact. Wuji is not only a state of mind, it is physiological as much as it is psychological. As long as your thinking about stuff, your not IN wuji, yes wuji is the base in which we can act from, but to say that everyone has access is bogus because not everyone can perform pushing hands or combat as well as the next. Again, at this point I'm not saying everyone is calling it wuji, i've had the honor of briefly working with bouncers who just call it their "zone", and this is far from any mystical state, but they recognize the clarity and instantanous nature of thought and action as it relates to their immediate environment. This is a state of mind which aids problem solving, and this is the state of mind that is cultivated through the meditative movements and stillness practices of classical chinese martial healing arts, and the aliveness that contemporary mixed martial art feeds upon. Universal Post, Pile Standing, Standing Meditation or Sustained Slow Moving Meditation. This is the most fundamental reason for using these practices, is to experience wuji, experiencing sung (relaxed readiness), and then practically experiencing that state in the moving forms of whatever your "practice" is. Most people stp pracice short when something starts burning while standing, but the point of standing is to strengthenyour nerves and mind (yi). When you mind stills from the work you are doing, you are on the right course. So what comes after burnning? Martial art is a very legitimate way of evaluating experience based on the success of failure of the student. Why is martial art irreversably linked to taoist practices? because survival is the ultimate decision maker.

What changed the grounding issue? Has either Max or Jenny spoken to you about wuji? About the psycho physiological implications of wuji? Dialog leads to answers. Interplay refines. Here is leads to there.

Cam could you describe that feeling? Has it changed or transformed how you spontaneously deal with problem solving day to day?
  19. Spontaneous Movement : Form and Formless

Do you like honey in your tea Camomile? Rumor has it some of Maxs teachers arn't from around these parts. Who what when where why. Jenny is no acception. Maxie is leading you on. Those who follow chase. Stand Firm. Formlessness works out the yah yahs, once that's done, its wise to start punching the bag everyonce in a while. That way you don't lose ground. xoxo To stay on topic: Can anyone think of a spontaneous time when you come up on k-1?
  20. Spontaneous Movement : Form and Formless

& that's not all I said. You missed the point. I'm not trying to be mean to you. Really. I'm doing my best to present as much information in as small of a space as possible. Singling out dualities doesn't mean you have to see the cup half empti. Please. I don't have time to be rude for the sake of being rude. I have not historically been that way, nor do I intend to take it up as a way of expressing myself. If I may ask Xeno here: r u being a dick for calling Max a hjack off artist? I don't think that's mean, I think that means Max is a jack off artist. Literally. lol. I understand empathetically you seem grounded, acting the part of the samaritan, I understand, unfortunately for me, I don't have time to dick around. No pun intended. lol. really. I'm laughing. It's funny. Life is to short. Lets get the wordk done and enjoy a good meal as friends.

I found some cool videos of old men dancing today. They are posted above. I liked the old china man, saw some classical elements there. Nothing wrong with getting out and flapping those old wings. It's all there. Really. 22. Reverse breathing dangerious?

He's protecting you. Most importantly what did you feel when you experimented with breathing methods? There are man. Reverse, compression, vacuum, condensation, etc. That's not the reverse breathing I learned. What that describes is simply emptying the diaphram of stale air, but it's not "reverse" as I was taught. I don't see anything wrong with compressing the lower abdomin to get ride of old aire. Reverse Breathing as I've learned is breathing in through the mouth w/ aspirated haa and out through the nose aspirated hen(g); pushing the naval outwards on the exhale and pulling it in on the inhale. It was suggested to me that I use it when sick, for breif periods of time as it reverses the orbit direction, and has a tonic effect. Condensation Breathing: What we learned in the wei dan forms was condensation breathing which utilizes the natural vacuum and compression of the torso cavity by completely empting the lower dan tien and regulated the inhale w/ the throat/tounge aspirated hen so a vacuum forms in the cavity from the natural expansion of the dantien after it's compression. on the exhale tongue drops and aspirated haa regulates the breath. No tension is held in the torso, it is the vocal cavity which regulates the breath, the mind can be completely free and the body can completely relax and melt into the breath. Condensation breathing works in the same way a super charger gives a car more horse power than the old fashioned carburator. The coolest thing about it is how relaxing it is as once the upper cavities expansion creates compression and lower cavities compression creates vacuum, you go zoom zoom vroom vroom. I used to hold my breath under water in the bathtub, I suppose I could have drowned. Experiment small. Less is more.
  23. Expanding Awareness and Paranoia

Nah. Anyone who is actually "high level" helps a person feel more centered and more themselves. I don't buy that running shop this way is the Way. Walking the line leads to balance. "losing control of energy" is like going temporaily crazy. This isn't a sign of accomplishment, it's a sign of madness. Just my honest opinion. A practical example is go hang out around some dulusional skizo's and see how you feel vs. go hang out with an accomlished teacher for example Gregory Fong who I am fond of. "high level energy" doesn't neccesarily mean that a person is "in control". Sometimes it's quite the contrary. I admit I am coming into this thread when it has already developed into full dialog, I apolgize if I've missed details or spoken out of context. Regards.
