Jeez you guys. Just keep the tank half full instead of half empty. Practice everyday and feel the difference, long term cycles are important to not "lose ground" from your baseline. Short term cycles are immaterial as long as you practice thru them and support "insufficiencies" with positive reinforcement mentally and nutritionally. It is more important how you train on your down cycles (don't stop cold turkey) than how you train up to your peak. knowing how to train up to a peak, then break thru and expand your experience is good, but if you stop cold turky at that point you do yourself a disservice. Take your foot off the gas and coast, Sifu called this minimum to maximum training. Less is More. Giving yourself fully to another soul in union never results in weakness. Show me a happy couple and I'll show you healthy people.

A very good reason to practice locations on yourself and others to get a FEEL for it. Everyone is slightly different, the landmarks are the same, the locations vary, but the feeling is the same when you seek and find.

The rain here was so fresh this morning. Never smells fresher than after a dry spell. These natural transition times, these are inside us as well. Looking for the sensible seams revitalizes the scheme. We can not "force" transition, but rather wait for the right time, and bravely up ride to slide down the wave we've made. This has to do with practicing in daily sync, the difference between morning and evening ragas, and the sensibility of the bodies "opening" and "closing" both biomechanically and psycho-physiologically ie spiritually. There is a time and place to each days wave. Delicately. Step here, hop there, slip, slide, hide and reappear. I heard you smile.

mind body body mind nothing is in between it's only one of the three gate houses on the map. they open and close with internal external alignment principles. what i mean is the thought dialog mind turns off when the body brain is on, rather the body brain is always on and the dialog runs over and through it, that is what we experience as "stress" in the various layers, the gutters get full and you gotta clean and comb them out. what else is diverting a punch from a high to low point? all the different aspects from organ to fascial health gung are the layers of the onion. when mind accepts it's connective nature u gotta let it all go else experience living hell nightmare. continue to practice letting things go, in a physical environment, and mental success is almost mimicing what is being modeled externally. it defies physics. slows down inertias effect on the body. the spin. off to practice.

If u r open and u let it close ur gonna feel it. if it's closed since after infancy and it opens ur gonna feel it. lifting thru the crwn and sinking thru the perenium wuji expands the lower mid upper back curves interelationshp t o e l o n g g a t e . center of gravity shifts from above ground to under ground feel weight distribution shifts as the body geometry changes from linear to circular; every athlete experiences this as a 'ready position', wuji ready yet uncommitted. The possibilities for horizontal movement as it spirals off the spine here is definable in so far as what body geometry allows, but without a core that is distributing weight evenly into the ground the upperbody will remain flimsy and unsupported (peng). I think this has to do with the rest of the connective tissue being ultimately connected to the spine, as the spine elongates, the rest of the structure sinks into it's most effective foundation for weight distrubution and redistrubution. without the expansion contraction dynamics of wuji (and the activation of diaphramic breathing in a suspendead state) the ming men stays "closed" and the distribution of what we experience as resistance never evolves past the muscular. As soon as the whole body brain is activated the ming men opens and the dynamic inter-relationship between movement and stillness is supported by the breath as if suspended by billows or sails upon a vessel of footwork and spinning banners.

True Love is nourishing and rejuvenating. If two or more people find this nothing can stop their destiny. The sanctity of the v is a cornerstone of practical wisdom.Destroy that and have no foundation to stand on. Jing means nothing if you have no means to burn, circulate, and condense.

Here is another one I found recently. Merry Go Round @ the playground. Any Stance : Four Directions Spinning One Direction: Facing Inside (towards center) Facing Outside (towards edge) Facing Into the Spin Facing Backside to the Spin Archer Stance : Gaasp Sparrows Tail : Facing Inside -Rollback feels heavy and slower slows down the round: WardOff Gsp Tail Feels Narrow and Fast : Press Push feels neutral Universal (wuji) Stance : Cloud Hands : Facing Outside -when moving in same direction as the spin the perception of hand movement stops as they stay stationary with the earth. the reverse of the moving train effect when it stops and you still see motion in your peripheral. Also stepping onto the moving merrygoround is challenging and if you step into away or with the spin it changes how you distribute weight and the direction of your feet for the best alignment. experiment for yourself.

Taobums Collective Consciousness Experiment Experience
Spectrum posted a topic in General Discussion
I work in a large theater venue. People drop things out of their pockets or lose random items all the time. We find them at the end of the night sweeping up. I think since the majority of contributers to taobums are seekers and meditators that the intent PSI's are probably a little higher than the average joe q. To cut right to the chase, there are been times in my personal life that I have found seemingly random objects that seem to synchronize with my life experience. I am curious if by the power of intent something that is seemingly so random, can be used as a experiential medium. How do we play the game? If you would list something random but meaningful to you personally in the form of a noun I have a feeling that a profound set of circumstances might converge with what we just happen to find along the way. If your game just reply with one word. -

Hah. No Way. No stage to the honesty of film. No talk. Movement speaks for itself. The same feeling as when stepping before a group of people to demonstrate anything. Even if it's only a mirror to yourself. The wind does not lie. The only enemy is our self. Geez Yes wish I would MOVE like that. I'm only able to Stumble Upon the Truth. Low Angles for Sunsets. K.I.S.S. I'm sure your practice is giving you the resultant warm fuzzies u seek, but pause for a moment and listen. Are those the same spirals that initiate a parry & punch? Although your summary of my spontaneous movement says "showy" let me propose that it's simply spontaneously adjusted movements through natural routes and paths that are amplified in the wind. Yes there is a stage here, it is called taobums, but my movement is not staged. This spontaneous form of practice brings what you internally manifest to the surface. Yes I recognize and practice subtlety, but also exploration of the non-conventional opportunities, there are so many directions inside and out. Before anyone jumps to conclusions of "showy" let me remind you I have not posted spontaneous video of myself, ever... ... IN ... ... the wind ... ... water ... ... suspension bridges ... ... low branches ... ... teetering rocks ... There are doorways to timeless moments all around us if we are Quiet and Listen. Then Move. What begins Within continues Without. Tread Lightly and Listen. If Max wants to post some spontaneous flow of himself that's great! I can go on youtube and see bagua and 5 element forms. Lets keep taobums full of original chuan. Are you kidding me here? Thousands of pages of dialog about SPONTANEOUS movement and not one video of the real thing? I'm not asking for uncontrolled undulations, although if you want you can, but c'mon, really? actually that'$ a big deal.... my video wasn't practice... that was $pure fun. So... may be... You miss the point. You missed the points. Leaning on a Horse Pointing The Way to the Guides Post the Tender I waited almost 3 years to post a video I used only for correction. I put it to music for your enjoyment. That enjoyment and love is my poiint to make.

I'm eager to see some kunlun'ers post video in this thread. It has been more than a year now, still with no satisfactory taste left in my mouth of kunlun. Words do nothing justice, imagination starts at sunset my kunlun friends. At least two years ago I was comparing video footage taken of David Carradines long time trainer Rob Moses using his movement exploration tool based on phi to suggestion and guide movement patterns along the golden ratio curves of the body. This slipped silently under the taobum carpet, but this footage still exists and I have yet to see any spontaneous forms of chi gung to compare... The proof is in the pudding. Here is some spontaneous movement from my own life journey. Basic patterns. Stance a little shallow... I rember focusing on hand pattern flow and keeping the footwork stable for the wind resistance.
