  1. You got my message loud and clear. You were saying about different wavelengths? -Spectrum
  2. All I can say really is that consistant energy practice without a consistant physical practice can lead towards imbalance in some people. Probably related to schzofrenic genes or something. Combinatory routines which exercise isolated channels on one level or different dimensions on another, can and should be balanced with integration and absorption with the whole of ones experience, less one become "fragmented". For instance one of our members used Taijiquan training to stop unwanted OOBE's. In my own observational instances I'll ask someone if they feel their latest breakthrough has changed the "here nowness" of their awareness, or if they feel different in sitting or standing; perhaps coaxing them to demonstrate any changes they've noticed in the most basic, such as sitting down, standing up, turning around, squatting, standing on one leg, even opening doors and walking up and down stairs. Or perhaps they've experienced changes in their push hands practice. Partners are excellent feedback and a human body, regardless of the personality is naturally intelligent, as tranformation of kinesthetic experience, the transformation is continually reinforced within the cyclic nature of the shared movement space. Lovers can often tell/feel transformational changes immediately in their partner because of the time spent together in shared spaces/dimensions of conscousness. Less language and dialog be confined to the medium of one small dialect in the corner of the galaxy. ..if it can be practiced, it can be realized and... forgotten about. There are times when people will be moving together and you see something really beautiful happen that makes your hair stand on end and you go "yeah that was it, the perfect move", better yet, you're the one practicing and you FEEL it happen... the beauty balanced with the sensibility is usually overpowering once you get past win & lose. Hopefully the people making the art realize this act of doing and strive to compose their practice of many moments of realizing something. Not impossible, it just takes time and effort. Hopefully seeing past the superfiscial arrangement of "winner and loser" which is rather linear thinking, because the more the winner wins, the greater he has to lose, and the loser keeps getting stronger. The practice of self-forgetfullness and here now-ness is alive and well among those who let go of attachment and enjoy every moment of natural movement life offers us. Spectrum
  3. Do any of the contributors to my thread have other sources of the Qing period illustration in question?
  4. Nei Jing Tu

The specific translation in which I have obtained is Translated by David Teh-yu Wang "Nei Jing Tu, a Daoist Diagram of the Internal Circulation of Man" printed in The Journal of the Walters Art Gallery Volume 49/50 1991/92 (141-158) The Article is divided into Six Parts: ---------- Intro Origin of the Diagram The Internal Elixir in Daoist Physiological Alchemy Heavenly Vault: The Head The Macro-Microcosmic Body: The Torso Conclusion ---------- Excerpts on Origin : pg142 "According to the inscription in the lower left-hand corner, by a certain Pure-Cloud Daoist Priest (Suyun daoren) Liu Chengyin, the painting was found in a temple at an unidentifiable Gaosong Mountain: 'This Painting has never had copies circulating anywhere in the world. Because the Dao of the true Gold Elixer (dan dao) is broad yet delicate in its principle, and those whos roots [of percieving the Dao] are blocked from learning [the essense of the Dao of Internal Elixir], this diagram is little known in the world. When I, by change, was browsing books and paintings in a studio at Gaosong Mountain, I noticed that this painting was hung on the wall. The painting is refined and minute in style. The notations of arteries, junctures of bones, and networks of bveins are clearly given, and each of them is accompanied by secret lore. I looked at this painting for long, and I began to comprehend that breathing out and breathing in (huxi), as well as exprelling out and taking in (tuna), are actually waxing and waning (yingxu) as well as the ebb and flow (xiaoxi) of the cosmos. If one understands this, one then grasps more then half of the main essentials of the true Gold Elixir. I dare not keep this [painting] to myself alone, and I therefore engrave it on a printing plate (zi) for popular circulation. I, Pure-Cloud Daoist Priest Lui Chengyin engrave and inscribe [this] in reverence (Followed by two seals; one carries the character "Cheng" and the other "Yin")'

Okay. Sorry this took so long. I've been digging for these w/ a short shovel. The original thread has some translation in it posted by 'Voice'. 7. I've experienced many times when multiple people quiet their mind together, whether it be group meditation, or a random collective 'moment', a type of collective 'non-dialog' experience is possible that everyone in the group experiences. Regardless of the individuals internal dialog, once that dialog was interrupted, it seemed they synced up w/ the group 'dialog'. Just a few cents to through in the mix. Spectrum
  8. A dilemma

Those who talk usually don't know. Gotta love ego maniac wanna be mystics getting high off being higher then others. The funny thing is it's all on the internet. That has to be the biggest joke on those who don't actually know, putting down what they "know" on the internet. I think the best think about meeting someone in person is you can always throw a straight blast if they say "my chi is more powerful then yours"... ;o)
  9. I'm expecting the boot

Fish oil is old skool. Enlightened food I think. Sushi is good for the soul. Better living through better brain chemistry.... welcome.
  10. Vewy Intewesting. Yeah I don't think activity is the enemy. Fixation and obsession is.
  11. Yes, thank you. I mean to say that since there is really no prohibition on what you can think about, you best be prepared to reap what you sow, (meditate on) after a certain period of practice. In this regard practice is self-corrective in so far as thought manifesting instantly. If you spend a lot of time with your mind in the trash can, amplified consciousness will only bring the trash to life. I most certainly agree that the most important primary point to meditative traditions is repulsing that chattering little monkey mind. Spectrum
  12. Meditation and Retention

If after time spent with mind empty and inner eye on your dan tien you don't experience heat, it would be perscriptive to abstain from sex for at least 3 days or until you experience said heat in the dan tien. In 1993 I recieved accupuncture from a Buddhist monk who after I asked him directly, told me he had not ejaculated for 11 years. I only asked him because he had good gung. As far as I know his practices consisted of buddhist meditation and yang taijiquan, as well as a vegetarian diet.
  13. Empowering our Goals

TaoMeow: What immeidately comes to mind is the Medical classic of the Nei Jing? Medicine is prescriptive no? Many major contributions to the medical sciences of chinese were made by practicing Taoist doctors. "Chen's History of Chinese Medicine" accounts all the way back to 4500 b.c! Another one that comes to mind is the Nine Songs from 2nd century A.D. and that is specifically presriptive for the rites of shamans, again not specifically Taoist. I think it's like saying "don't think of an orange", so why would they write anything down "not" to do. Might as well practice positive reinforcement if it's going to be recorded at all. Thanks for clarifying your perspective. Again thanks for clarifying. What leads up to your being aligned or misaligned? What goes around comes around. Wu Wei. Flow w/ da go. There is no opponent. 14. Witch - Sounds like a cool experience. TaoMeow Said: TaoMeow: Off topic, but is this something that happens to you involuntarily or spontaneously on any regular interval? Any relationship to this and how often you practice?
  15. Nei Jing Tu

The most academic reference I have found sp far in print is in an art journal. Link to TTB forum for thread ref: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showto...;hl=nei+jing+tu
  16. "I definitely don't belong here. Attachment is the only thing worthwhile!" How does attachment help you circulate or experience CCO's? Can you please explain yourself? No offense intended. Edited to quote you from another thread : Witch Said: No need to answer the above question when you bring up Worship. In my opinion ... a very powerful practice worship is...
  17. Nei Jing Tu

Yeah I've been studying sources for a few months on that one. There are various "translations" out there. In the meantime I have indeed found an academic translation referenced by a couple sources. I am in the process of aquiring it. I will post the name of the Academic Journal and author shortly. (gotta go find it again)
  18. No offense, but there is a REASON why emptiness is the pre-req for the circulation of chi. Another reason why these practices were kept secret from "non-monk-types" folks who are still attached to the red dust of the world. Images are deceptive. The "problem" w/ your practice, based on your statement above, is attachment. Spectrum
  19. Microcosmic Orbit

Perhaps we should all re-read these wise words above, particularlly... "that our bodies have body wisdom and if we give it a supply of extra chi while in a relaxed state then the extra chi will automatically and naturally go to wherever in the body it is needed" ... Thanks StarJumper! Spectrum

  21. Light and Sound Machines?

Consider that the bi-naural beats are replicating certain sounds that do take place naturally under specific circumstances, giving warrent to exploring those sounds under meditative circumstances, for instance some of Mozarts violin compositions produce bi-naural beats. One might wonder what the voice of a babbling brook speaks about. The nature of sound can offer many insights into the unseen. Spectrum

No. Not right now. I'll drop hints along the way though. Pun intended.
