  1. Knees

Nice indicators for faulty alignment or technique. Thanks.
  2. Found a photo on the net that brought on a big cheesy smile. And it's attachment id = 108. Perfect!
  3. Bodhi Savas

    waddeva-sattva. Jesus was a fu'ster.
  4. 9 Palaces Solar Qi Gong

Is there talk or demo of Nine Palace patterns in his techniques? Sounds interesting. Chi Gung really goes with the seasonal elements.
  5. Leaning, Embodying and practicing the MERIDIANS

Certain points are on the surface. Others are not. They flow like water. Sometimes deep within, sometimes peeking from beneith the cracks, then rushing back within. Get an accupuncture chart and start exploring. You could use charts from the Ming Dynasty and have success! You'll only get to know yourself better!
  6. Bodhi Savas

I thought you meant Bodhisatvas. I consider enough. Maybe less.
  7. Leaning, Embodying and practicing the MERIDIANS

Going through a chart and systematically locating points on yourself should prove benificial for you. In relationship to Chi Gung, it's my impression that a proper system opens and clears the meridians without having to poke and prod around on yourself. If you have a chronic imbalance/blockage, it will be very apparent after a short period of practice. In relationship to your kinesthetic reasoning; If your shoulder is hurting it might mean that you are not relaxed enough (sung) and you need to reexamine/relax more into your wuji posture. Sensations associated with blockages often have associated reference sensations or lack thereof as well. For instance if your shoulder hurts and your arm is numb, then that might mean you have a blockage. Likewise a shoulder pain w/ a shooting current down the arm could be a blockage on that line. Just my .03c good luck on your search.
  8. Bodhi Savas

Yup. Frankly I was simply making an observation. If you have a specific question feel free to ask.
  9. Bodhi Savas

About masonic initiation procedures? Nope never heard of it. I know Manly wrote on it. Could you explain more to us about this "relationship" I was unaware that masons and taoists had cultivated any kind of relationship. Please expound on the interesting. Sources? Spectrum
  10. Bodhi Savas

"How do Masonic and Taoist practices differ, then?" Oh I don't know... One initiates it's new members with a hangmans noose?

  12. Bodhi Savas

That Manly P. Hall was a Mason writing about his opinions of Taoism? What more is there to say? Would you prefer I take a defensive or offensive position concerning Manly? Spectrum PS- Satvas have good kung fu
  13. Healing a Hematoma

Localized Tui Na Treatment might increase mobility and limit localized pain. If you find a point particularlly sore rotate the closest joint (shoulder) through it's ranges of motion and see how that effects the feeling of the area. Point manipulations can include direct index finger pressure, thumb pressure, palm pressure, tapping, etc. Motions could include direct to point, counter clockwise center out, or clockwise circumference to center. Also some general motions that are NOT generated from the area of injury, IE your weightless squats will aid in moving blood and lymph through the area (like tai chi pumps blood and fluids through the bodies natural hydrodynamic nature). If breathing hurts your first line of defense will be working from whichever part of the breath cycle hurts. For instance if it's painful to fully inhale, then you can set that as your baseline to work from to mark improvement. Just trying to point out the markers along the Way. Hope ya heal up fast! 14. Healing a Hematoma

A few questions. How many days ago? Does it hurt when you breath? Does it hurt when you are sitting still? Does the joint closest to the injury cause any pain (anywhere) when it's taken through it's full range of motion? IE when you rotate your left shoulder forward or backwards? Are there any reference pains other then the original area of injury? Spectrum
  15. Wu Dang Orbit of Wu Ji

Very Taoist. The eye of attention is like a lense. This seems a description of proper posture & finding sung in a seated wu ji. Lovely paradoxial perspectives presented by the author. As long as the spinal columb is aligned and the breath coordinated and balanced the state of sung will eventually be found. Facial relaxation goes nice w/ the half closed eyes. Up the Back Down the Front Or as Da Liu says "do this exercise until you forget about yourself". So elequently put. These hallucinations seem to be played on a lot, they arise from single point meditations in the form of field effects, but if there's anything that wu ji helps realize is that when your are in a state of sung, thoughts are things, and mind body duality is a lie. Traditional break in period. Kick the tires. 100 days of practice is accumulative. Spectrum
  16. Shrooms

If you did standing meditation for the amount of time you've deliberated you would experience the same thing. Probably better to balance your brain chemicals through regulating your endocrine system... ? Fast from a normal cycle/form of sensory stimulation prior to your meditation might bring about breakthroughs as well. Breakthroughs are hard to "schedule" with proper chi gung practice being accumulative. Spectrum
  17. However special his abilities, that poor kids foundational mechanics still suck.
  18. Dream Work

"success with being able to consistantly enter the vibrational state" "and how it was more about blurring the boundaries between sleep and waking, and other dualities, than about dreams as such." I agree that the content is almost secondary while understanding the transitional states between mindsets is of primary importance to meditators. I look at drifting off as yet another chance to get it, and forget it. I think the vibrational state mentioned is one window most meditators are looking to turn into a patio. Sung.
  19. Shrooms

Edited to say: Do you mean the Amanita Muscara?
  20. Dream Work

Dream-recall is helpful as a type of pre-lucidity training. The old reality test method is a good standby where you check if your dreaming on a regular interval. In my experieneces bi-naural isn't needed, although is a helpful cheater. Hemispheric syncro exercises are helpful and plentiful, and usually engage you in the modulation that happens between wake and sleep. Practicing early morning after real "sleep" has already happened and it's more like a nap seems easiet. Helpful Hint - 'let go of' and 'go with' any feelings of falling and/or vibratory states. 21. Dream Work

Simplist things that come to mind: Before you go to sleep bring to mind a dream in which you can recall. Perhaps the most vivid dream you can remember. Play through the dream as you drift off, this will put you a step closer to an active dreamtime. When you awake write down your first waking thoughts, often times these will be blurred with dreams, bringing you a step closer to recall. Waking up slowly over a period of time vs. quickly and rushed makes a difference. IIRC Vitamin b12 increases dream intensity. Spectrum
  22. Immortals

Many experiences open windows. The goal is to open doors and walk through them with transformational life experiences. If a person is always opening their windows in the winter... it's gonna be a cold one! When it's hot out, maybe it's ok to turn on the fan. Conventional wisdom allows for a life of practical conservation through a methodological approach. To much medicine is poison. Such things as tonics should be taken more seriously.
  23. Yoked Taoist workin the caucasians. In my opinion the white kid should have learned how to bend his knees and use his hips in 4 years of training.
  24. Immortals

"1. the mushrooms energy is so rarified and 2. there is usually no practice to support the experience. You get to look through the window but you can't open the door and go in because you have not done the work" Any tonic can be used in conjunction with chi gung meditation to make the experience your own. This is usually done in a type of cycling, which is normal methodology for most martial artists. In the case of mind/body practices of Taoist origin, it seems once the practitioner regularlly exercises their ability to be in a state of Sung , other levels of consciousness are accessable through their ability to relax the mind/body connection to allow the suggestable nature of that state to open the doors and windows with your intent. This is much like the mind between wake and sleep, thoughts are things, and previous levels of consciousness can be recalled to consciousness. Particularlly cycling any tonic with Chi Gung practice will produce greater tonic effects and if that tonic is meant to alter perception, those perceptions CAN be either permanently altered (not recommended to go for this without a guide), or "tuned into" per the choice of the practitioner.
